| 2 | Mercury adsorption characteristics of HBr-modified fly ash in an entrained-flow reactor显示文摘In this study, the mercury adsorption characteristics of HBr-modified fly ash in an entrained-flow reactor were investigated through thermal decomposition methods. The results show that the mercury adsorption performance of the HBr-modified fly ash was enhanced significantly. The mercury species adsorbed by unmodified fly ash were Hg Cl2,Hg S and Hg O. The mercury adsorbed by HBr-modified fly ash, in the entrained-flow reactor,existed in two forms, Hg Br2 and Hg O, and the HBr was the dominant factor promoting oxidation of elemental mercury in the entrained-flow reactor. In the current study, the concentration of Hg Br2 and Hg O in ash from the fine ash vessel was 4.6 times greater than for ash from the coarse ash vessel. | 3 | High-value Applications of Nanocellulose显示文摘Nanocelluloses, obtained from the biopolymer cellulose, are a class of renewable functional nanomaterials with excellent properties and a broad range of applications. | 4 | Hydration Products of Cement-silica Fume-quartz Powder Mixture under Different Curing Regimes显示文摘Composition, morphology, and structure of hydration products in hardened pastes of three kinds of blended cement(cement-silica fume, cement-quartz powder and cement-silica fume-quartz powder) hydrated under different curing regimes(standard curing, 90 ℃ steam curing, 200 ℃ and 250 ℃ autoclave curing) were investigated by X-ray diffraction and field emission scanning electron microscope equipped with EDAX system. Results showed that the main hydration products in three kinds of hardened pastes under standard curing condition are all C-S-H gels, CH, and AFt. Under 90 ℃ steam curing condition, the main hydration products of cement-silica fume and cement-silica fume-quartz powder are C-S-H gels, whereas those of cement-quartz powder are C-S-H and CH. Under 200 or 250 ℃ autoclave curing condition, no obvious crystallized CH phase is found in hardened pastes of three kinds of blended cement, and C-S-H gels are transformed into one or more crystalline phases such as tobermorite, jennite, and xonotlite. | 6 | Microwave absorbing properties and magnetic properties of different carbon nanotubes显示文摘The microwave absorbing properties and magnetic properties of as-grown Fe-filled carbon nanotubes (CNTs), annealed Fe-filled CNTs, and multi-walled CNTs were studied. Vibrating sample magnetometer results showed that the annealed Fe-filled CNTs have the weakest coercivity and strongest saturation magnetization among the three types CNTs, due to the presence of more ferromagnetic α-Fe nanowires. After annealing, the values increased to 291.0 Oe and 28.0 emu/g and the samples showed excellent microwave absorbing properties. | 7 | Running safety assessment of a train traversing a three-tower cable-stayed bridge under spatially varying ground motion显示文摘To explore the influence of spatially varying ground motion on the dynamic behavior of a train passing through a three-tower cable-stayed bridge,a 3D train–track–bridge coupled model is established for accurately simulating the train–bridge interaction under earthquake excitation,which is made up of a vehicle model built by multi-body dynamics,a track–bridge finite element model,and a 3D rolling wheel–rail contact model.A conditional simulation method,which takes into consideration the wave passage effect,incoherence effect,and site-response effect,is adopted to simulate the spatially varying ground motion under different soil conditions.The multi-time-step method previously proposed by the authors is also adopted to improve computational efficiency.The dynamic responses of the train running on a three-tower cablestayed bridge are calculated with differing earthquake excitations and train speeds.The results indicate that(1)the earthquake excitation significantly increases the responses of the train–bridge system,but at a design speed,all the running safety indices meet the code requirements;(2)the incoherence and site-response effects should also be considered in the seismic analysis for long-span bridges though there is no fixed pattern for determining their influences;(3)different train speeds that vary the vibration characteristics of the train–bridge system affect the vibration frequencies of the car body and bridge. | Wei Gong Zhihui Zhu Yu Liu Ruitao Liu Yongjiu Tang Lizhong Jiang | 2020 | Railway Engineering Science2020,28,2: | 6 |
| 8 | Radial Grip Rigidity of the Matching of Lengthened Shrink-fit Holder and Cutter in High-speed Milling显示文摘Though the lengthened shrink-fit holder (LSFH) is widely applied in high speed milling of the parts characterized by deep cavities at present,its design and selection mainly depends on the experience and lacks a correct theoretical guidance.In this paper,attention is focus on the radial grip rigidity of the matching of LSFH and cutter in high speed milling.Based on the experiment modal analysis (EMA) technique,an accurate finite element model of the matching of LSFH and cutter is established firstly.Subsequently,the influence of different interference,grip length and spindle speed on the grip rigidity of LSFH are analyzed.The analysis results show that there is a reasonable interference and grip length between the LSFH and cutter so that to have a steepless grip and have a good radial grip rigidity and at the same time to avoid the strength of LSFH to exceed it’s yield limit which will reduce the precision and service life of LSFH,besides when spindle speed reach a extension the weakening influence of the centrifugal force on the radial grip rigidity of the matching of LSFH and cutter should been taken into account.Finally,the finite element analysis results are verified based on the construction of measurement method of the grip rigidity and the results fit very well.The studies provide a theoretical basis for the design,selection and the serialization and standardization of the matching of LSFH and cutter. | ZHOU Houming WANG Chengyong DENG Jianxin PENG Ruitao | 2012 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2012,25,1: | 5 |

| 10 | Stress Effects of Chlorate on Longan(Dimocarpus longan Lour.)Trees: Changes in Nitrogen and Carbon Nutrition显示文摘Three-year-old potted longan(Dimocarpus longan Lour.cv.Shixia)trees were treated with potassium chlorate and effects on nitrogen and carbon nutrition were examined.The results showed that potassium chlorate at 10 and 20 g per pot failed to induce flower but suppressed shoot growth and caused leaf chlorosis and drop.The treatment significantly inhibited nitrate reductase but increased nitrogen concentration in the leaves and buds.Concentration of soluble amino acids in the leaves of treated trees increased within 14 days and then declined to the control level,while it increased constantly in buds.In both organs,the amino acid increase was an all-round one,with all the tested 21 amino acids increased.However,soluble proteins in the leaves were slightly increased by chlorate,indicating that de novo synthesis of amino acids was activated.Chlorate reduced photosynthetic rate and stomatal conductance but slightly increased CO2 concentration in the mesophyll,suggesting that chlorate treatment damaged photosynthetic apparatus.The damage was reflected by the destruction of thylakoids and grana in the chloroplasts.Chlorate also caused depletion of starch with significant accumulation of soluble sugars in the leaves.Accumulation of sugars and soluble amino acids indicates osmotic adjustment in response to the stress caused by chlorate treatment. | LU Jiemei YANG Ruitao WANG Huicong HUANG Xuming | 2017 | Horticultural Plant Journal2017,3,6: | 4 |
| 11 | Flexible photodetector based on large-area few-layer MoS_2显示文摘Developing flexible photodetectors is crucial for both military and civil fields. Large-area MoS_2 films from several to dozens of layers are controllably synthesized via a facile atmospheric-pressure sulfurization route of predeposited Mo films and transferred onto other substrates(e.g. SiO_2/Si wafers, quartz slides, polymers). The flexible photodetectors were fabricated by transferring as-synthesized MoS_2 films onto interdigital electrodes patterned on polyethylene terephthalate(PET) substrates. No additional complex lithography positioning techniques were needed during the device fabrication process due to the large area of as-grown atomic thin MoS_2 films. As-obtained flexible photodetectors showed responsibilities of ~ 20 mA/W and response time of several seconds. | 15 | Notch Effect of Materials: Strengthening or Weakening?显示文摘Notch is a very important geometry with widespread applications in engineering structural components. Finding a universal equation to predict the effect of notch on strength of materials is of much significance for structural design and materials selection. In the present work, we tried to find this universal equation from experimental results of metallic glasses(MGs) and other materials as well as theoretical derivations based on a universal fracture criterion(Qu and Zhang, Sci. Rep. 3(2013) 1117). Experimental results showed that the notch effect of the studied MG was affected by the notch geometry characterized by the stress concentration factor Kt.As Ktbecomes smaller, the notch strength ratio(NSR, which is the ratio of nominal ultimate tensile strength(UTS) of the notched sample to UTS of the unnotched sample) increases. By comparing MGs with other materials like brittle ceramics and ductile crystalline metals, we find that when Ktis same, the NSR is larger for ductile metals but smaller for brittle ceramics. Theoretically, we derived a universal equation for notch effect on strength of materials: NSR ? M/Kt, where M is a constant related to materials. | 17 | Synthesis and characterization of semiconductor zinc sulfide nanotubes by soft-template method显示文摘ZnS nanotubes have been successfully synthe-sized from solutions containing a surfactant, Triton X-100(t-octyl-(OCH2CH2)χOH, χ=9, 10). X-ray diffraction (XRD),transmission electron microscope (TEM) and selected areaelectron diffraction (SAED) are employed to characterize thestructure and morphology of as-synthesized product. XRDand SAED pattern indicate that as-obtained products consist of pure polycrystalline cubic-phase ZnS structures. TEM images reveal that most of the products are tubular struc-tures, with diameters ranging between 37--52 nm andlengths up to 3 μm. The wall thickness of as-obtained ZnSnanotube is around 9 nm. | 18 | Termination of Transcription of LAT Increases the Amounts of ICP0 mRNA but Does Not Alter the Course of HSV-1 Infection in Latently Infected Murine Ganglia显示文摘On entering sensory ganglia,herpes simplex viruses 1(HSV-1)establishes a latent infection with the synthesis of a latency associated transcript(LAT)or initiates productive infection with expression of a set of immediate early viral proteins.The precise mechanisms how expression of a genes is suppressed during the latency are unknown.One mechanism that has been proposed is illustrated in the case of ICP0,a key immediate early viral regulatory protein.Specifically,the 2 kb LAT intron is complementary to the 30 terminal portion of ICP0 m RNA.To test the hypothesis that accumulation of LAT negatively affects the accumulation of ICP0 m RNA,we inserted a DNA fragment encoding two poly(A)sequences into LAT to early terminate LAT transcript without interrupting the complementary sequence of ICP0 transcript(named as SR1603).Comparisons of the parent(SR1601)and mutant(SR1603)HSV-1 viruses showed the following:Neurons harboring latent SR1603 virus accumulated equivalent amounts of viral DNA but higher amounts of ICP0 m RNA and lower amounts of LAT,when compared to neurons harboring the SR1601 virus.One notable difference between the two viruses is that viral RNA accumulation in explanted ganglia harboring SR1603 virus initiated significantly sooner than that in neurons harboring SR1601 virus,suggesting that ICP0 may act as an activator of viral gene expression in permissive cells.Collectively,these data suggest that increased ICP0 m RNA by suppressed LAT did not affect the establishment of latency in latently infected murine ganglia. | Haifang Jiang Jiaming Wu Xianjie Liu Ruitao Lu Manling Zhou Meiling Chen Yonghong Liu Grace Guoying Zhou Wenmin Fu | 2021 | Virologica Sinica2021,36,2: | 2 |

| 20 | Relation Between Strength and Hardness of High-Entropy Alloys显示文摘High-entropy alloys(HEAs)are composed of multiple principal elements and exhibit not only remarkable mechanical properties,but also promising potentials for developing numerous new compositions.To fully realize such potentials,highthroughput preparation and characterization technologies are especially useful;thereby,the fast evaluations of mechanical properties will be urgently required.Revealing the relation between strength and hardness is of significance for quickly predicting the strength of materials through simple hardness testing.However,up to now the strength-hardness relation for HEAs is still a puzzle.In this work,the relations between tensile or compressive strength and Vickers hardness of various HEAs with hundreds of compositions at room temperature are investigated,and finally,the solution for estimating the strengths of HEAs from their hardness values is achieved.Data for hundreds of different HEAs were extracted from studies reported in the period from 2010 to 2020.The results suggested that the well-known three-time relation(i.e.,hardness equals to three times the magnitude of strength)works for nearly all HEAs,except for a few brittle HEAs which show quite high hardness but low strength due to early fracture.However,for HEAs with different phase structures,different strengths should be applied in using the 3-time relation,i.e.,yield strength for low ductility body-centered cubic(BCC)HEAs and ultimate strength for highly plastic and work-hardenable face-centered cubic(FCC)HEAs.As for dual-phase or multi-phase HEAs,similar 3-time relations can be also found.The present approach sheds light on the mechanisms of hardness and also provides useful guidelines for quick estimation of strength from hardness for various HEAs. | Xiaojuan Fan Ruitao Qu Zhefeng Zhang | 2021 | Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2021,34,11: | 2 |
