1The intracellular mechanism of alpha-fetoprotein promoting the proliferation of NIH 3T3 cells显示文摘AIM The existence and properties of alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) receptor on the surface of NIH 3T3 cells and the effects of AFP on cellular signal transduction pathway were investigated. METHODS The effect of AFP on the proliferation of NIH 3T3 cells was measured by incorporation of 3H-TdR. Receptor-binding assay of 125I-AFP was performed to detect the properties of AFP receptor in NIH 3T3 cells. The influences of AFP on the [cAMP]i and the activities of protein kinase A (PKA) were determined. Western blot was used to detect the change of K-ras P21 protein expression. RESULTS The proliferation of NIH 3T3 cells treated with 0-80 mg/L of AFP was significantly enhanced. The Scatchard analysis indicated that there were two classes of binding sites with KD of 2.722×10-9M (Bmax=12810 sites per cell) and 8.931× 10-SM (Bmax=l19700 sites per cell) respectively. In the presence of AFP (20 mg/L), the content of cAMP and activities of PKA were significantly elevated . The level of K-ras P21 protein was upregulated by AFP at the concentration of 20 mg/L. The monoclonal antibody against AFP could reverse the effects of AFP on the cAMP content, PKA activity and the expression of K-ras p21 gene. 2Electroacupuncture activates enteric glial cells and protects the gut barrier in hemorrhaged rats显示文摘AIM:To investigate whether electroacupuncture ST36 activates enteric glial cells,and alleviates gut inflammation and barrier dysfunction following hemorrhagic shock.METHODS:Sprague-Dawley rats were subjected to approximately 45% total blood loss and randomly divided into seven groups:(1) sham:cannulation,but no hemorrhage;(2) subjected to hemorrhagic shock(HS);(3) electroacupuncture(EA) ST36 after hemorrhage;(4) vagotomy(VGX)/EA:VGX before hemorrhage,then EA ST36;(5) VGX:VGX before hemorrhage;(6) a-bungarotoxin(BGT)/EA:intraperitoneal injection of a-BGT before hemorrhage,then EA ST36; and(7) a-BGT group:a-BGT injection before hemorrhage.Morphological changes in enteric glial cells(EGCs) were observed by immunofluorescence,and glial fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP; a protein marker of enteric glial activation) was evaluated using reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction and western blot analysis.Intestinal cytokine levels,gut permeability to 4-k Da fluorescein isothiocyanate(FITC)-dextran,and the expression and distribution of tight junction protein zona occludens(ZO)-1 were also determined.RESULTS:EGCs were distorted following hemorrhage and showed morphological abnormalities.EA ST36 attenuated the morphological changes in EGCs at 6 h,as compared with the VGX,a-BGT and HS groups.EA ST36 increased GFAP expression to a greater degree than in the other groups.EA ST36 decreased intestinal permeability to FITC-dextran(760.5 ± 96.43 ng/m L vs 2466.7 ± 131.60 ng/m L,P < 0.05) and preserved ZO-1 protein expression and localization at 6 h afterhemorrhage compared with the HS group.However,abdominal VGX and a-BGT treatment weakened or eliminated the effects of EA ST36.EA ST36 reduced tumor necrosis factor-a levels in intestinal homogenates after blood loss,while vagotomy or intraperitoneal injection of a-BGT before EA ST36 abolished its antiinflammatory effects.CONCLUSION:EA ST36 attenuates hemorrhageinduced intestinal inflammatory insult,and protects the intestinal barrier integrity,partly via activation of EGCs.Sen Hu Zeng-Kai Zhao Rui Liu Hai-Bin Wang Chun-Yu Gu Hong-Min Luo Huan Wang Ming-Hua Du Yi Lv Xian Shi 2015World Journal of Gastroenterology2015,21,5:15
3Association of Overlapped and Un-overlapped Comorbidities with COVID-19 Severity and Treatment Outcomes: A Retrospective Cohort Study from Nine Provinces in China显示文摘Objective Several COVID-19 patients have overlapping comorbidities. The independent role of each component contributing to the risk of COVID-19 is unknown, and how some non-cardiometabolic comorbidities affect the risk of COVID-19 remains unclear.Methods A retrospective follow-up design was adopted. A total of 1,160 laboratory-confirmed patients were enrolled from nine provinces in China. Data on comorbidities were obtained from the patients’ medical records. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to estimate the odds ratio(OR) and 95% confidence interval(95% CI) of the associations between comorbidities(cardiometabolic or non-cardiometabolic diseases), clinical severity, and treatment outcomes of COVID-19.Results Overall, 158(13.6%) patients were diagnosed with severe illness and 32(2.7%) had unfavorable outcomes. Hypertension(2.87, 1.30–6.32), type 2 diabetes(T2 DM)(3.57, 2.32–5.49),cardiovascular disease(CVD)(3.78, 1.81–7.89), fatty liver disease(7.53, 1.96–28.96), hyperlipidemia(2.15, 1.26–3.67), other lung diseases(6.00, 3.01–11.96), and electrolyte imbalance(10.40, 3.00–26.10)were independently linked to increased odds of being severely ill. T2 DM(6.07, 2.89–12.75), CVD(8.47,6.03–11.89), and electrolyte imbalance(19.44, 11.47–32.96) were also strong predictors of unfavorable outcomes. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease on admission(5.46,3.25–9.19), while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes(6.58, 1.46–29.64) within two weeks.Conclusion Besides hypertension, diabetes, and CVD, fatty liver disease, hyperlipidemia, other lung diseases, and electrolyte imbalance were independent risk factors for COVID-19 severity and poor treatment outcome. 4Scalable fabrication of printed Zn//MnO2 planar micro-batteries with high volumetric energy density and exceptional safety显示文摘The rapid development of printed and microscale electronics imminently requires compatible micro-batteries(MBs)with high performance,applicable scalability,and exceptional safety,but faces great challenges from the ever-reported stacked geometry.Herein the first printed planar prototype of aqueous-based,high-safety Zn//MnO2 MBs,with outstanding performance,aesthetic diversity,flexibility and modularization,is demonstrated,based on interdigital patterns of Zn ink as anode and MnO2 ink as cathode,with high-conducting graphene ink as a metal-free current collector,fabricated by an industrially scalable screen-printing technique.The planar separator-free Zn//MnO2 MBs,tested in neutral aqueous electrolyte,deliver a high volumetric capacity of 19.3 mAh/cm^3(corresponding to 393 mAh/g)at 7.5 mA/cm^3,and notable volumetric energy density of 17.3 mWh/cm^3,outperforming lithium thin-film batteries(≤10 mWh/cm^3).Furthermore,our Zn//MnO2 MBs present long-term cyclability having a high capacity retention of 83.9%after 1300 cycles at 5 C,which is superior to stacked Zn//MnO2 batteries previously reported.Also,Zn//MnO2 planar MBs exhibit exceptional flexibility without observable capacity decay under serious deformation,and remarkably serial and parallel integration of constructing bipolar cells with high voltage and capacity output.Therefore,low-cost,environmentally benign Zn//MnO2 MBs with in-plane geometry possess huge potential as high-energy,safe,scalable and flexible microscale power sources for direction integration with printed electronics.Xiao Wang Shuanghao Zheng Feng Zhou Jieqiong Qin Xiaoyu Shi Sen Wang Chenglin Sun Xinhe Bao Zhong-Shuai Wu 2020National Science Review2020,7,1:5

6Co3O4 modified Ag/g-C3N4 composite as a bifunctional cathode for lithium-oxygen battery显示文摘Rechargeable lithium-oxygen(Li-O2)batteries have appeal to enormous attention because they demonstrate higher energy density than the state-of-the-art Li-ion batteries.Whereas,their practical application is impeded by several challenging problems,such as the low energy round trip efficiencies and the insufficient cycle life,due to the cathode passivation caused by the accumulation of discharge products.Developing efficient catalyst for oxygen reduction and evolution reactions is effective to reduce the overpotentials in Li-O2cells.In our work,we report a Co3O4modified Ag/g-C3N4nanocomposite as a bifunctional cathode catalyst for Li-O2cells.The g-C3N4substrate prevents the accumulation of Ag and Co3O4nanoparticles and the presence of Ag NPs improves the surface area of g-C3N4and electronic conductivity,significantly improving the oxygen reduction/evolution capabilities of Co3O4.Due to a synergetic effect,the Ag/g-C3N4/Co3O4nanocomposite demonstrates a higher catalytic activity than each individual constituent of Co3O4or Ag/g-C3N4for the ORR/OER on as catalysts in Li-O2cells.As a result,the Ag/gC3N4/Co3O4composite shows impressive electrochemical performance in a Li-O2battery,including high discharge capacity,small gap between charge and discharge potential,and high cycling stability.Qi Guo Chenwei Zhang Chaofeng Zhang Sen Xin Pengchao Zhang Qiufan Shi Dawei Zhang Ya You 2020Journal of Energy Chemistry2020,29,2:4
7Effects of heat treatment on the corrosion resistance of carbon steel coated with LaMgAl_(11)O_(19) thermal barrier coatings显示文摘LaMgAl_(11)O_(19) thermal barrier coatings(TBCs) were applied to carbon steels with a NiCoCrAlY bond coat by plasma spraying. The effects of heat treatment on the corrosion resistance of carbon steel coated with LaMgAl_(11)O_(19) TBCs were investigated in 3.5wt% Na Cl solution using polarization curves, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), and X-ray diffraction(XRD). The results show that a large number of cracks are found in the LaMgAl_(11)O_(19) TBCs after the samples are heat-treated, including some through-thickness cracks. The corrosion forms of the as-sprayed and heat-treated TBCs are uniform corrosion and pitting corrosion, respectively. The as-sprayed TBCs exhibit three EIS time constants after being immersed for less than 7 d, and then a new time constant appears because of steel substrate corrosion. When the immersion time is increased to 56 d, a Warburg impedance(W) component appears in the EIS data. The EIS data for the heat-treated TBCs exhibit only two time constants after the samples are immersed for less than 14 d, and a new time constant appears when the immersion time is increased further. The heat treatment reduces the corrosion resistance of carbon steel coated with LaMgAl_(11)O_(19) TBCs. 8Scalable and fast fabrication of graphene integrated micro-supercapacitors with remarkable volumetric capacitance and flexibility through continuous centrifugal coating显示文摘Microscale electrochemical energy storage devices,e.g., micro-supercapacitors(MSCs),possessing tailored performance and diversified form factors of lightweight,miniaturization,flexibility and exceptional integration are highly necessary for the smart power sources-unitized electronics.Despite the great progress,the fabrication of MSCs combining high integration with high volumetric performance remains largely unsolved.Herein,we develop a simple,fast and scalable strategy to fabricate graphene based highly integrated MSCs by a new effective continuous centrifugal coating technique.Notably,the resulting highly conductive graphene films can act as not only patterned microelectrodes but also metal-free current collectors and interconnects,endowing modular MSCs with high integrity,remarkable flexibility,tailored voltage and capacitance output,and outstanding performance uniformity.More importantly,the strong centrifugal force and shear force generated in continuous centrifugal coating process lead to graphene films with high alignment,compactness and packing density,contributing to excellent volumetric capacitance of ~31.8 F cm^(-3) and volumetric energy density of ~2.8 mWh cm^(-3),exceeding most reported integrated MSCs.Therefore,our work paves a novel way for simple and scalable fabrication of integrated MSCs and offers promising opportunities as standalone microscale power sources for new-generation electronics.Xiaoyu Shi Lijun Tian Sen Wang Pengchao Wen Ming Su Han Xiao Pratteek Das Feng Zhou Zhaoping Liu Chenglin Sun Zhong-Shuai Wu Xinhe Bao 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,1:3
9Clinical experience of percutaneous m itralballoon valvuloplastyin 350 casesin Chinese and long term follow-up显示文摘Objectives: This study is to introduce of the clinical experience of percutaneous mitral balloon valvuloplasty 350 cases in Chinese and the long term follow up. Method: The modfied Inoue method was performed. Results: Effective PBMV was performed in 344 cases, the success rate was 98.3%:mitral area assessed by 2 dimenrional echocardiography (1.11±0.29 to 2.19 ±0.40cm 2, P <0.01 ). One hundrad and five patients were followed at a mean (46.7± 26.3 ) months (range 9 months to 8.5 years). after procedure restenosis was 11.4%(12/15), death 2.9 %(3/105, cerebral embolism in 2, congestive heart failure in 1; mitral valve replacement in 3.8%(4/105). 10Projections from D2 Neurons in Different Subregions of Nucleus Accumbens Shell to Ventral Pallidum Play Distinct Roles in Reward and Aversion显示文摘The nucleus accumbens shell(NAcSh) plays an important role in reward and aversion. Traditionally, NAc dopamine receptor 2-expressing(D2) neurons are assumed to function in aversion. However, this has been challenged by recent reports which attribute positive motivational roles to D2 neurons. Using optogenetics and multiple behavioral tasks, we found that activation of D2 neurons in the dorsomedial NAcSh drives preference and increases the motivation for rewards, whereas activation of ventral NAcSh D2 neurons induces aversion. Stimulation of D2 neurons in the ventromedial NAcSh increases movement speed and stimulation of D2 neurons in the ventrolateral NAc Sh decreases movement speed. Combining retrograde tracing and in situ hybridization, we demonstrated that glutamatergic and GABAergic neurons in the ventral pallidum receive inputs differentially from the dorsomedial and ventral NAcSh. 11Hypoxia preconditioning protects Ca^(2+)-ATPase activation of intestinal mucosal cells against R/I injury in a rat liver transplantation model显示文摘AIM To investigate the effect of ischaemia and reperfusion(I/R) injury on the Ca^(2+)-ATPase activation in the intestinal tissue of a rat autologous orthotopic liver transplantation model and to determine if hypoxia preconditioning(HP) therapy induces HIF-1α to protect rat intestinal tissue against I/R injury.METHODS Rats received non-lethal hypoxic preconditioning therapy to induce HIF-1α expression. We used an autologous orthotopic liver transplantation model to imitate the I/R injury in intestinal tissue. Then, we detected the microstructure changes in small intestinal tissues, Ca^(2+)-ATPase activity, apoptosis, and inflammation within 48 h postoperatively. RESULTS HIF-1α expression was significantly increased in intestinal tissue at 12 h postoperatively in rats that were exposed to a hypoxic environment for 90 min compared with a non-HP group(HP vs AT, P = 0.0177). Pathological analysis was performed on the intestinal mucosa cells, and the cells in the HP group appeared healthier than the cells in the AT group. The Ca^(2+)-ATPase activity in the small intestinal cells in the AT group was significantly lower after the operation, and the Ca^(2+)-ATPase activity in the HP group recovered faster than that in the AT group at 6 h postoperatively(HP vs AT, P = 0.0106). BCL-2 expression in the HP group was significantly higher than that in the AT group at 12 h postoperatively(HP vs AT P = 0.0010). The expression of the inflammatory factors NO, SOD, IL-6, and TNF-α was significantly lower in the HP group than in the AT group.CONCLUSION Hypoxia-induced HIF-1α could protect intestinal mucosal cells against mitochondrial damage after I/R injury. HP could improve hypoxia tolerance in small intestinal mucosal cells and increase Ca^(2+)-ATPase activity to reduce the apoptosis of and pathological damage to intestinal cells. 13Elucidating the operating behavior of PEM fuel cell with nickel foam as cathode flow field显示文摘Metal foam material,which serves as an alternative replacement of the conventional flow distributor of proton exchange membrane(PEM)fuel cell,has been attracting much attention over last few decades.In this work,three-dimensional modeling work for PEM fuel cell containing metal foam as cathode flow distributor has been carried out.The fuel cell performance and operating characteristics of metal foam flow field and conventional parallel flow channel have been compared and discussed.The cell performance has been reasonably validated based on the corresponding experimental tests conducted in this study.The superior performance of PEM fuel cell with metal foam as cathode flow field benefits a lot from the uniform gas flow.The porous metal foam material provides more pathways for the water delivery at the interface of metal foam flow field and gas diffusion layer(GDL),accelerating water removal capability of cathode.Because of the significant oxygen transfer loss in diffusion limited parallel channel,the operation of PEM fuel cell with parallel channel is found to be more sensitive to cathode humidification and oxygen supply at inlet.Due to the more uniform and effective electron transport though the porous electrode,it is possible to use thinner GDL in metal foam PEM fuel cell.It is expected that this study could give a good baseline of operating behavior of PEM fuel cell with metal foam flow distributor.HUO Sen SHI WeiYu WANG RenFang LU BingBing WANG Yang JIAO Kui HOU ZhongJun 2021Science China(Technological Sciences)2021,64,5:2

15Numerical simulation of profile control by clay particles after polymer flooding显示文摘A three-dimensional,two-phase,five-component mathematical model has been developed to describe flow characteristics of clay particles and flocs in the profile control process,in which the clay particle suspension is injected into the formation to react with residual polymer.This model considers the reaction of clay particles with residual polymer,apparent viscosity of the mixture,retention of clay particles and flocs,as well as the decline in porosity and permeability caused by the retention of clay particles and flocs.A finite difference method is used to discretize the equation for each component in the model.The Runge-Kutta method is used to solve the polymer flow equation,and operator splitting algorithms are used to split the flow equation for clay particles into a hyperbolic equation for convection and a parabolic equation for diffusion,which effectively ensures excellent precision,high speed and good stability.The numerical simulation had been applied successfully in the 4-P1920 unit of the Lamadian Oilfield to forecast the blocking capacity of clay particle suspension and to optimize the injection parameters.Feng Qihong Shi Shubin Wang Sen Zheng Lu 2010Petroleum Science2010,7,4:2

19Effect of surface modification on thermal expansion of Zr_(2)WP_(2)O_(12)/aromatic polyimides based composites显示文摘Surface modification is a fascinating way to improve the compounding effect between inorganic fillers and polymers.In this study,zirconium tungsten phosphate(ZWP) with negative thermal expansion was surface modified by silane coupling agent 3-(Trimethoxysilyl)propyl methacrylate.The effects of surface modification and the modification mechanism were analyzed in detail by X-ray diffractometer,scanning electron microscopy,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and thermal mechanical analysis.The surface modification could effectively reduce the thermal expansion properties of the composite.When the added amount of 3-methacryloxypropyl trimethoxysilaneSilane(trade name:KH570) is 0.50 wt%,the thermal expansion coefficient of ZWP/Aromatic polyimide composite decreased by 9.76%.The surface modification also can effectively improve the dielectric performance of aromatic polyimides.The present work provides one new way to improve the thermal expansion behavior of composites.Xin-Wei Shi Sen Zhang Qiang Zhou Jing Li Bai-Lin Zhu Liu-Jie Xu Qi-Long Gao 2023Tungsten2023,5,1:1
20New Algorithm Rules Out Acute-on-chronic Liver Failure Development within 28 Days from Acute Decompensation of Cirrhosis显示文摘Background and Aims:Approximately 10%of patients with acute decompensated(AD)cirrhosis develop acute-on-chronic liver failure(ACLF)within 28 days.Such cases have high mortality and are difficult to predict.Therefore,we aimed to establish and validate an algorithm to identify these patients on hospitalization.Methods:Hospitalized patients with AD who developed ACLF within 28 days were considered pre-ACLF.Organ dysfunction was defined accord-ing to the chronic liver failure-sequential organ failure as-sessment(CLIF-SOFA)criteria,and proven bacterial infec-tion was taken to indicate immune system dysfunction.A retrospective multicenter cohort and prospective one were used to derive and to validate the potential algorithm,re-spectively.A miss rate of<5%was acceptable for the calcu-lating algorithm to rule out pre-ACLF.Results:In the deri-vation cohort(n=673),46 patients developed ACLF within 28 days.Serum total bilirubin,creatinine,international normalized ratio,and present proven bacterial infection at admission were associated with the development of ACLF.AD patients with≥2 organ dysfunctions had a higher risk for pre-ACLF patients[odds ratio=16.58195%confidence interval:(4.271-64.363),p<0.001].In the derivation co-hort,67.5%of patients(454/673)had≤1 organ dysfunction and two patients(0.4%)were pre-ACLF,with a miss rate of 4.3%(missed/total,2/46).In the validation cohort,65.9%of patients(914/1388)had≤1 organ dysfunction,and four(0.3%)of them were pre-ACLF,with a miss rate of 3.4%(missed/total,4/117).Conclusions:AD patients with≤1 organ dysfunction had a significantly lower risk of developing ACLF within 28 days of admission and could be safely ruled out with a pre-ACLF miss rate of<5%.Xiaoting Tang Hai Li Guohong Deng Xin Zheng Xianbo Wang Yan Huang Yanhang Gao Zhongji Meng Zhiping Qian Feng Liu Xiaobo Lu Yu Shi Beiling Li Wenyi Gu Xiaomei Xiang Yan Xiong Yixin Hou Jun Chen Na Gao Sen Luo Liujuan Ji Jing Li Rongjiong Zheng Haotang Ren Jinjun Chen 2023Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2023,11,3:1
