| 1 | Growth mechanism of octahedron-like BaMoO_4 microcrystals processed in microwave-hydrothermal:Experimental observations and computational modeling显示文摘Octahedron-like BaMoO4 microcrystals were synthesized by the co-precipitation method at room temperature and processed in microwave-hydrothermal at 413 K for different times (from 30 min to 5 h). These microcrystals were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD),field-emission gun scanning electron microscopy (FEG-SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). XRD patterns showed that this material presents a tetragonal structure without the presence of deleterious phases. FEG-SEM and TEM micrographs revealed that the BaMoO4 microcrystals present an octahedron-like morphology with agglomerate nature and poly-disperse particle size distribution. These micrographs also indicated that the microcrystals grow along the [0 0 1] direction. | 3 | Hepatocellular carcinoma staging systems: Hong Kong liver cancer vs Barcelona clinic liver cancer in a Western population显示文摘BACKGROUND Despite being the world’s most widely used system for staging and therapeutic guidance in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)treatment,the Barcelona clinic liver cancer(BCLC)system has limitations,especially regarding intermediate-grade(BCLC-B)tumors.The recently proposed Hong Kong liver cancer(HKLC)staging system appears useful but requires validation in Western populations.AIM To evaluate the agreement between BCLC and HKLC staging on the management of HCC in a Western population,estimating the overall patient survival.METHODS This was a retrospective study of HCC patients treated at a university hospital in southern Brazil between 2011 and 2016.Demographic,clinical,and laboratory data were collected.HCC staging was carried out according to the HKLC and BCLC systems to assess treatment agreement.Overall survival was estimated based on the treatment proposed in each system.RESULTS A total of 519 HCC patients were assessed.Of these,178(34.3%)were HKLC-I;95(18.3%)HKLC-IIA;47(9.1%)HKLC-IIB;29(5.6%)HKLC-IIIA;30(5.8%)HKLCIIIB;75(14.4%)HKLC-IV;and 65(12.5%)HKLC-V.According to the BCLC,25(4.9%)were BCLC-0;246(47.4%)BCLC-A;107(20.6%)BCLC-B;76(14.6%)BCLCC;and 65(12.5%)BCLC-D.The general agreement between the two systems was 80.0%-BCLC-0 and HKLC-I(100%);BCLC-A and HKLC-I/HKLC-II(96.7%);BCLC-B and HKLC-III(46.7%);BCLC-C and HKLC-IV(98.7%);BCLC-D and HKLC-V(41.5%).When sub-classifying BCLC-A,HKLC-IIB,HKLC-IIIA and HKLC-IIIB stages according to the up-to-7 in/out criterion,13.4,66.0,100 and 36.7%,respectively,of the cases were classified as up-to-7 out.CONCLUSION In a Western population,the general agreement between the two systems was 80.0%,although in BCLC-B cases the agreement was low,suggesting that some individuals could be candidates for the curative treatment recommended by the HKLC.The authors suggest that the BCLC system should be routinely employed,although for BCLC-B cases it should be associated with the HKLC system. | Laura Bainy Rodrigues de Freitas Larisse Longo Deivid Santos Ivana Grivicich Mário Reis Alvares-da-Silva | 2019 | World Journal of Hepatology2019，11，9： | 3 |

| 10 | Pheochromocytoma and stress cardiomyopathy:Insight into pathogenesis显示文摘AIM To investigate the occurrence of cardiomyopathy(CMP)in a cohort of patients with histologically proven pheochromocytoma(pheo),and to determine if catecholamine excess was causative of the left ventricular(LV)dysfunction.METHODS A retrospective chart review spanning years 1998through 2014 was undertaken and patients with a diagnosis of pheo confirmed with histopathologic examination were included.Presenting electrocardiograms and cardiac imaging studies were reviewed.Transthoracic echocardiography(TTE),ventriculography or single positron emission computed tomography imaging was evaluated and if significant abnormalities[left ventricular hypertrophy(LVH)or LV dysfunction]were noted in the pre operative period a follow up post-operative study was also analyzed.Multivariate analysis using logistic regression was used to investigate independent predictors for outcomes of interest,LV dysfunction and LVH.RESULTS We identified 18 patients with diagnosis of pheo confirmed on pathology.Mean age was 54.3±19.3years and 11(61.1%)patients were females.50%of such patients had either resistant hypertension or labile blood pressures during hospitalization,which had raised suspicion for a pheo.Cardiac imaging studies were available for 12(66.7%)patients at the time of inclusion into study and preceding the adrenalectomy.7(58.3%)patients with a TTE available for review had mild or more severe LVH while 3(25%)patients had LV dysfunction of presumably acute onset.In a multivariate analysis,elevated catecholamine levels as assessed by urinary excretion of metabolites was not an independent predictor of development of LV systolic dysfunction or of presence of LVH on TTE.Two female patients with a preceding history of hypertension had marked LV hypertrophy and systolic anterior motion of the mitral valve.Prolongation of the QTc interval was noted in 5(27.8%)patients but no acute arrhythmias were observed in any patient.CONCLUSION This study adds to the growing body of literature on the predilection of patients with pheochromocytomas to develop non-ischemic CMP.Degree of catecholamine excess as measured by urinary secretion of metabolites did not predict the development of CMP but 2 of 3patients developed CMP in the setting of significant acute physiologic stress.Our findings provide support to the proposed etiologic role of elevated catecholamines in TC and other stress induced forms of CMP,however,activation of a brain-neural-cardiac axis from acute stress and local release of catecholamines but not chronic catecholamine elevations are likely to be responsible in pheo related CMP. | Sahil Agrawal Jamshid Shirani Lohit Garg Amitoj Singh Santo Longo Angelita Longo Mark Fegley Lauren Stone Muhammad Razavi Nicoleta Radoianu Sudip Nanda | 2017 | World Journal of Cardiology2017，9，3： | 1 |

| 14 | Observatory science with eXTP显示文摘In this White Paper we present the potential of the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry(eXTP) mission for studies related to Observatory Science targets. These include flaring stars, supernova remnants, accreting white dwarfs, low and high mass X-ray binaries, radio quiet and radio loud active galactic nuclei, tidal disruption events, and gamma-ray bursts. eXTP will be excellently suited to study one common aspect of these objects: their often transient nature.
