| 2 | Systematic review of emergent laparoscopic colorectal surgery for benign and malignant disease显示文摘Laparoscopic surgery has become well established in the management of both and malignant colorectal disease.The last decade has seen increasing numbers of surgeons trained to a high standard in minimallyinvasive surgery.However there has not been the same enthusiasm for the use of laparoscopy in emergency colorectal surgery.There is a perception that emergent surgery is technically more difficult and may lead to worse outcomes.The present review aims to provide a comprehensive and critical appraisal of the available literature on the use of laparoscopic colorectal surgery(LCS)in the emergency setting.The literature is broadly divided by the underlying pathology;that is,inflammatory bowel disease,diverticulitis and malignant obstruction.There were no randomized trials and the majority of the studies were case-matched series or comparative studies.The overall trend was that LCS is associated with shorter hospital stay,par or fewer complications but an increased operating time.Emergency LCS can be safely undertaken for both benign and malignant disease providing there is appropriate patient selection,the surgeon is adequately experienced and there are sufficient resources to allow for a potentially more complex operation. | Manish Chand Muhammed RS Siddiqui Ashish Gupta Shahnawaz Rasheed Paris Tekkis Amjad Parvaiz Alex H Mirnezami Tahseen Qureshi | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,45: | 7 |
| 3 | 高效液相色谱-紫外检测法同时测定药物制剂及人体血清中的奥美沙坦酯和厄贝沙坦及氢氯噻嗪(英文)显示文摘A simple,selective,sensitive,precise,simultaneous high performance liquid chromatographic analysis of serum samples and commercial tablet formulation containing hydrochlorothiazide,olmesartan medoxomil and irbesartan are reported.Good chromatographic separation was achieved using a μ-Bondapak,C18 column(15 cm×4.6 mm,5 μm),and a mobile phase consisting of acetonitrile-0.2% acetic acid aqueous solution(50∶50,v/v)at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min.The ultraviolet detector was set at a wavelength of 260 nm.Hydrochlorothiazide,olmesartan medoxomil,and irbesartan were eluted at 1.2,3.8,and 4.4 min,respectively.No extraneous materials were found to interfere.The method uses protein precipitation with acetonitrile for the preparation of serum sample.The linear ranges for hydrochlorothiazide,olmesartan medoxomil,and irbesartan were 6.25-18.75,20-60,and 75-225 ng/mL,respectively.The recoveries of hydrochlorothiazide,olmesartan medoxomil,and irbesartan in spiked samples were all greater than 98%,and their relative standard deviations were less than 2.0%.The limits of detection were 1,2,and 2 ng/mL for hydrochlorothiazide,olmesartan medoxomil,and irbesartan,respectively,and the limits of quantification were 3 ng/mL,which allow their determination at the expected serum concentration levels. | SULTANA Najma ARAYNE M Saeed ALI S Shahid SAJID Shahnawaz | 2008 | 色谱2008,26,5: | 6 |
| 4 | Obese patients have similar short-term outcomes to nonobese in laparoscopic colorectal surgery显示文摘AIM: To determine whether obese patients undergoing laparoscopic surgery within an enhanced recovery program had worse short-term outcomes.METHODS: A prospective study of consecutive patients undergoing laparoscopic colorectal resection was carried out between 2008 and 2011 in a single institution. Patients were divided in groups based on body mass index(BMI). Short-term outcomes including operative data, length of stay, complications and readmission rates were recorded and compared between the groups. Continuous data were analysed using t-test or oneway Analysis of Variance. χ2 test was used to compare categorical data.RESULTS: Two hundred and fifty four patients were included over the study period. The majority of individuals(41.7%) recruited were of a healthy weight(BMI < 25), whilst 50 patients were classified as obese(19.6%). Patients were matched in terms of the presence of comorbidities and previous abdominal surgery. Obese patients were found to have a statistically significant difference in The American Society of Anesthesiologists grade. | 5 | Chemical composition, antioxidant activity and GC-MS analysis of juice and peel oil of grapefruit varieties cultivated in India显示文摘Citrus family especially Grapefruit,has attained considerable attention due to the presence of a number of essential components that have cardiovascular and anti-hypertensive properties.The juice and essential oil extracted from eight recently released grapefruit cultivars were used to study physicochemical and antioxidant properties.The total soluble solids(TSS),titratable acidity(TA) and pH of juice samples extracted from various grapefruit varieties differed significantly.The refractive index,specific gravity and optical rotation values for the oil varied from 1.473 to 1.396,0.863 to 0.847 and +93 to +86,respectively.The percent 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl radical activity(% DPPH activity) and ferric reducing antioxidant power(FRAP) values for grapefruit juice and peel oil varied from 24.06 to 18.79,2.91 to 1.44 mmol g^–1 and 84.87 to 74.73,7.76 to 5.73 mmol g^-1,respectively.There were significant differences in physicochemical,antioxidant properties and volatile profiles of extracted juice and oil.The oil exhibited higher DPPH and FRAP values than the juice.Among different components identified which accounted for over 99% of the volatile fraction,limonene,myrcene,and benzopyran were major components in all oil samples. | Shahnawaz Ahmed H S Rattanpal Khalid Gul Rouf Ahmad Dar Akash Sharma | 2019 | Journal of Integrative Agriculture2019,18,7: | 3 |

| 9 | Detection of Babesia bovis in blood samples and its effect on the hematological and serum biochemical profile in large ruminants from Southern Punjab显示文摘Objective:To determine the presence of Babesia bovis(B.bovis)in large ruminants in southern Punjab and its effect on hematological and serum biochemical profile of host animals.Methods:Blood samples were collected from 144 large ruminants,including 105 cattle and 39 buffaloes,from six flistricts in southern Punjab including Multan,Layyali,Muzaffar Garh,Bhakar.Bahawalnagar and Vehari.Data on the characteristics of animals and herds were collected through questionnaires.Different blood(hemoglobin,glucose)and serum(ALT.AST,I.DH,cholesterol)parameters of calves and cattle were measured and compared between parasite positive and negative samples to demonstrate the effect of B.bovis on the blood and serological profile of infected animals.Results:27 out of 144 animals,from 5 out of 6 sampling districts,produced the541-bp fragment specific for B.bovis.Age of animals(P=0.02),presence of ticks on animals(P=0.04)and presence of ticks on dogs associated with herds(P=0.5)were among the major risk factors involved in the spread of bovine babesiosis in the study area.ALT concentrations were the only serum biochemical values that significantly varied between parasite positive and negative cattle.Conclusions:This study has reported for the first time the presence of B.bavis in large ruminant and the results can lead to the prevention of babesiosis in the region to increase the livestock output. | Samreen Zulfiqar Sadia Shahnawaz Muhammad Ali Arif Mahmood Bhutta Shahid Iqbal Sikandar Hayat Shazia Qadir Muhammad Latif Nazia Kiran Ali Saeed Muhammad Ali Furhan Iqbal | 2012 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2012,2,2: | 1 |

| 20 | Oxidative stress and redox signaling in CRPC progression: therapeutic potential of clinically-tested Nrf2-activators显示文摘Androgen deprivation therapy(ADT)is the mainstay regimen in patients with androgen-dependent prostate cancer(PCa).However,the selection of androgen-independent cancer cells leads to castrate resistant prostate cancer(CRPC).The aggressive phenotype of CRPC cells underscores the need to elucidate mechanisms and therapeutic strategies to suppress CRPC outgrowth.Despite ADT,the activation of androgen receptor(AR)transcription factor continues via crosstalk with parallel signaling pathways.Understanding of how these signaling cascades are initiated and amplified post-ADT is lacking.Hormone deprivation can increase oxidative stress and the resultant reactive oxygen species(ROS)may activate both AR and non-AR signaling.Moreover,ROS-induced inflammatory cytokines may further amplify these redox signaling pathways to augment AR function.However,clinical trials using ROS quenching small molecule antioxidants have not suppressed CRPC progression,suggesting that more potent and persistent suppression of redox signaling in CRPC cells will be needed.The transcription factor Nrf2 increases the expression of numerous antioxidant enzymes and downregulates the function of inflammatory transcription factors,e.g.,nuclear factor kappa B.We documented that Nrf2 overexpression can suppress AR-mediated transcription in CRPC cell lines.Furthermore,two Nrf2 activating agents,sulforaphane(a phytochemical)and bardoxolone-methyl(a drug in clinical trial)suppress AR levels and sensitize CRPC cells to anti-androgens.These observations implicate the benefits of potent Nrf2-activators to suppress the lethal signaling cascades that lead to CRPC outgrowth.This review article will address the redox signaling networks that augment AR signaling during PCa progression to CRPC,and the possible utility of Nrf2-activating agents as an adjunct to ADT. | Debasis Mondal Devin Narwani Shahnawaz Notta Dawood Ghaffar Nikhil Mardhekar Syed S.A.Quadri | 2021 | Cancer Drug Resistance2021,4,1: | 1 |
