| 1 | Deep Structural Framework and Genetic Analysis of Gold Concentration Areas in the Northwestern Jiaodong Peninsula, China: A New Understanding based on High-Resolution Reflective Seismic Survey显示文摘The gold concentration areas in the northwestern Jiaodong Peninsula constituted an important gold metallogenetic region in Eastern China during the Mesozoic. The deep geological bodies' texture characteristic is important for exploring the resources thoroughly and understanding the metallogenic process. The detailed textures were revealed using high-resolution seismic profiles through the three major ore-controlling structures-Sanshandao fault zone, Jiaojia fault zone and Zhaoping fault zone. This study aims to establish a deep structural framework of this area. Based on their formation mechanism, the fault structures developed in the area can be divided into regional and local fault structures. The structural styles are characterised by superimposing their compressional, strike-slip and extensional multi-stage activities. The crust is cut by vertical structures corresponding to a left-lateral strike-slip fault system on the surface. Nearby these structures are the arc-shape structures formed by multi-stage magma intrusions into the upper crust. Bounded by the Tancheng–Lujiang and Muping–Jimo fault zones, the current Jiaodong block, developed a series of NE-trending strike-slip fault systems, was probably formed by the assemblage of several obliquely aligned blocks. The intensive magmatism and hydrothermal activity between the blocks induced large-scale mineralisation. | 3 | ATF3 contributes to brucine-triggered glioma cell ferroptosis via promotion of hydrogen peroxide and iron显示文摘Ferroptotic cell death is characterized by iron-dependent lipid peroxidation that is initiated by ferrous iron and H_(2)O_(2) via Fenton reaction,in which the role of activating transcription factor 3(ATF3)remains elusive.Brucine is a weak alkaline indole alkaloid extracted from the seeds of Strychnos nux-vomica,which has shown potent antitumor activity against various tumors,including glioma.In this study,we showed that brucine inhibited glioma cell growth in vitro and in vivo,which was paralleled by nuclear translocation of ATF3,lipid peroxidation,and increases of iron and H_(2)O_(2).Furthermore,brucine-induced lipid peroxidation was inhibited or exacerbated when intracellular iron was chelated by deferoxamine(500μM)or improved by ferric ammonium citrate(500μM).Suppression of lipid peroxidation with lipophilic antioxidants ferrostatin-1(50μM)or liproxstatin-1(30μM)rescued brucine-induced glioma cell death.Moreover,knockdown of ATF3 prevented brucine-induced accumulation of iron and H_(2)O_(2) and glioma cell death.We revealed that brucine induced ATF3 upregulation and translocation into nuclei via activation of ER stress.ATF3 promoted brucine-induced H_(2)O_(2) accumulation via upregulating NOX4 and SOD1 to generate H_(2)O_(2) on one hand,and downregulating catalase and xCT to prevent H_(2)O_(2) degradation on the other hand.H_(2)O_(2) then contributed to brucine-triggered iron increase and transferrin receptor upregulation,as well as lipid peroxidation.This was further verified by treating glioma cells with exogenous H_(2)O_(2) alone.Moreover,H_(2)O_(2) reversely exacerbated brucine-induced ER stress.Taken together,ATF3 contributes to brucine-induced glioma cell ferroptosis via increasing H_(2)O_(2) and iron. | Shan Lu Xuan-zhong Wang Chuan He Lei Wang Shi-peng Liang Chong-cheng Wang Chen Li Tian-fei Luo Chun-sheng Feng Zhen-chuan Wang Guang-fan Chi Peng-fei Ge | 2021 | Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2021,42,10: | 10 |

| 6 | FOXO3a protects glioma cells against temozolomide-induced DNA double strand breaks via promotion of BNIP3-mediated mitophagy显示文摘FOXO3a(forkhead box transcription factor 3a)is involved in regulating multiple biological processes in cancer cells.BNIP3(Bcl-2/adenovirus E1B 19-kDa-interacting protein 3)is a receptor accounting for priming damaged mitochondria for autophagic removal.In this study we investigated the role of FOXO3a in regulating the sensitivity of glioma cells to temozolomide(TMZ)and its relationship with BNIP3-mediated mitophagy.We showed that TMZ dosage-dependently inhibited the viability of human U87,U251,T98G,LN18 and rat C6 glioma cells with IC_(50) values of 135.75,128.26,142.65,155.73 and 111.60μM,respectively.In U87 and U251 cells,TMZ(200μM)induced DNA double strand breaks(DSBs)and nuclear translocation of apoptosis inducing factor(AIF),which was accompanied by BNIP3-mediated mitophagy and FOXO3a accumulation in nucleus.TMZ treatment induced intracellular ROS accumulation in U87 and U251 cells via enhancing mitochondrial superoxide,which not only contributed to DNA DSBs and exacerbated mitochondrial dysfunction,but also upregulated FOXO3a expression.Knockdown of FOXO3a aggravated TMZ-induced DNA DSBs and mitochondrial damage,as well as glioma cell death.TMZ treatment not only upregulated BNIP3 and activated autophagy,but also triggered mitophagy by prompting BNIP3 translocation to mitochondria and reinforcing BNIP3 interaction with LC3BII.Inhibition of mitophagy by knocking down BNIP3 with SiRNA or blocking autophagy with 3MA or bafilomycin A1 exacerbated mitochondrial superoxide and intracellular ROS accumulation.Moreover,FOXO3a knockdown inhibited TMZ-induced BNIP3 upregulation and autophagy activation.In addition,we showed that treatment with TMZ(100 mg·kg^(-1)·d^(-1),ip)for 12 days in C6 cell xenograft mice markedly inhibited tumor growth accompanied by inducing FOXO3a upregulation,oxidative stress and BNIP3-mediated mitophagy in tumor tissues.These results demonstrate that FOXO3a attenuates temozolomide-induced DNA double strand breaks in human glioma cells via promoting BNIP3-mediated mitophagy. | Chuan He Shan Lu Xuan-zhong Wang Chong-cheng Wang Lei Wang Shi-peng Liang Tian-fei Luo Zhen-chuan Wang Mei-hua Piao Guang-fan Chi Peng-fei Ge | 2021 | Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2021,42,8: | 7 |
| 7 | The Identification and Modeling of the Volcanic Weathering Crust in the Yingcheng Formation of the Xujiaweizi Fault Depression, Songliao Basin显示文摘Through the analysis of core descriptions,well-logs,seismic data,geochemical data and structural settings of the volcanic rock of the Yingcheng Formation in the Xujiaweizi fault depression,Songliao Basin,and the geological section of the Yingcheng Formation in the southeast uplift area,this work determined the existence of volcanic weathering crust exists in the study area.The identification marks on the volcanic weathering crust can be recognized on the scale of core,logging,seismic,geochemistry,etc.In the study area,the structure of this crust is divided into clay layer,leached zone,fracture zone and host rocks,which are 5-118 m thick(averaging 27.5 m).The lithology of the weathering crust includes basalt,andesite,rhyolite and volcanic breccia,and the lithofacies are igneous effusive and extrusive facies.The volcanic weathering crusts are clustered together in the Dashen zone and the middle of the Xuzhong zone,whereas in the Shengshen zone and other parts of the Xuzhong zone,they have a relatively scattered distribution.It is a major volcanic reservoir bed,which covers an area of 2104.16 km^2.According to the geotectonic setting of the Songliao Basin,the formation process of the weathering crust is complete.Combining the macroscopic and microscopic features of the weathering crust of the Yingcheng Formation in Xujiaweizi with the logging and three-dimensional seismic sections,we established a developmental model of the paleo uplift and a developmental model of the slope belt that coexists with the sag on the Xujiaweizi volcanic weathering crust.In addition,the relationship between the volcanic weathering crust and the formation and distribution of the oil/gas reservoir is discussed. | LIU Cai CHI Huanzhao SHAN Xuanlong HAO Guoli | 2017 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2017,91,4: | 5 |
| 8 | Myofiber development during embryonic to neonatal development in duck breeds differing in muscle growth rates显示文摘Little is known about the muscle developmental patterns during embryonic to neonatal development in ducks.We investigated the developmental patterns in the lateral gastrocnemius muscles of Gaoyou and Jinding ducks differing in their muscle growth rates during the final stages of egg incubation and the first week after hatching.Expression of the MyoD gene was quantified by quantitative real-time PCR(qRT-PCR).The average cross-sectional area and diameter of the fibers increased from embryonic day 21(E21),peaking at E27,and then declining slightly 7 d after hatching.The density of the fibers decreased initially but increased after hatching in both breeds and sexes.The within-breed variation in muscle fiber-type composition was greater than the average variation between the breeds.Overall,the percentage of type Ⅰ fibers increased and that of type lIb fibers decreased consistently.However,the percentage of type lla fibers was almost constant as development proceeded in both duck breeds.The profiles of MyoD mRNA expression were similar in both breeds,and a significantly positive relationship was observed between the expression of MyoD and the percentage of type lIb fibers.This study firstly revealed the characteristics of duck muscle development and differences between the two breeds differing in growth rates.Moreover,type lIb fibers might convert to type Ⅰ fibers in the lateral gastrocnemius,while MyoD may potentially function in controlling the muscle fiber phenotype during the secondary myogenesis of muscle development. | LI Hui-fang SHU Jing-ting SHAN Yan-ju CHEN Wen-feng SONG Chi XU Wen-juan | 2016 | Journal of Integrative Agriculture2016,15,2: | 4 |

| 12 | Phylogenetic analyses of the genes involved in carotenoid biosynthesis in algae显示文摘Carotenoids play a crucial role in absorbing light energy for photosynthesis,as well as in protecting chlorophyll from photodamage.In contrast to the Streptophyta,few studies have examined carotenoid biosynthetic pathways in algae,owing to a shortage of datasets.As part of the 1000 Plants Project,we sequenced and assembled the transcriptomes of 41 marine macroalgal species,including 22 rhodophytes and 19 phaeophytes,and then combined the datasets with publicly available data from Gen Bank(National Center for Biotechnology Information) and the U.S.Department of Energy Joint Genome Institute.As a result,we identified 68 and 79 fulllength homologs in the Rhodophyta and Phaeophyceae,respectively,of seven inferred carotenoid biosynthetic genes,including the genes for phytoene synthase(PSY),phytoene desaturase(PDS),ζ-carotene desaturase(ZDS),ζ-carotene isomerase(Z-ISO),prolycopene isomerase(crt ISO),lycopene β-cyclase(LCYB),and lycopene ε-cyclase(LCYE).We found that the evolutionary history of the algal carotenoid biosynthetic pathway was more complex than that of the same pathway in the Streptophyta and,more specifically,that the evolutionary history involved endosymbiotic gene transfer,gene duplication,and gene loss.Almost all of the eukaryotic algae that we examined had inherited the seven carotenoid biosynthesis genes via endosymbiotic gene transfer.Moreover,PSY,crt ISO,and the ancestral lycopene cyclase gene(LCY) underwent duplication events that resulted in multiple gene copies,and the duplication and subsequent divergence of LCYB and LCYE specialized and complicated the cyclization of lycopene.Our findings also verify that the loss of LCYE in both the microphytic rhodophytes and phaeophytes explains the differences in their carotenoid patterns,when compared to the macrophytic rhodophytes.These analyses provide a molecular basis for further biochemical and physiological validation in additional algal species and should help elucidate the origin and evolution of carotenoid biosynthetic pathways. | WANG Shanshan ZHANG Lei CHI Shan WANG Guoliang WANG Xumin LIU Tao TANG Xuexi | 2018 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2018,37,4: | 3 |

| 15 | Deep gold mineralization features of Jiaojia metallogenic belt,Jiaodong gold Province:Based on the breakthrough of 3000 m exploration drilling显示文摘Recently,continuous breakthroughs have been made about deep gold prospecting in the Jiaodong gold province area of China.Approximately 5000 t of cumulative gold resources have been explored in Jiaodong,which has thus become an internationally noteworthy gold ore cluster.The gold exploration depth has been increased to about 2000 m from the previous<1000 m.To further explore the mineralization potential of the Jiaodong area at a depth of about 3000 m,the Shandong Institute of Geological Sciences has drilled an exploratory drillhole named“Deep drillhole ZK01”to a depth of 3266 m.Hence,as reported herein,the mineralization characteristics of the Jiaojia metallogenic belt have been successfully documented.ZK01 is,to date,the deepest borehole with an gold intersect in China,and constitutes a significant advance in deep gold prospecting in China.The findings of this study further indicate that the depth interval of 2000 m to 4000 m below the ground surface in the Wuyi Village area incorporates 912 t of inferred gold resources,while the depth interval of 2000 m to 4000 m below the surface across the Jiaodong area possesses about 4000 t of inferred gold resources.The Jiaojia Fault Belt tends to gently dip downward,having dip angles of about 25°and about 20°at vertical depths of 2000 m and 2850 m,respectively.The deep part of the Jiaojia metallogenic belt differs from the shallow and moderately deep parts about fracturing,alteration,mineralization,and tectonic type.The deep zones can generally be categorized from inside outward as cataclastic granite,granitic cataclasite,weakly beresitized granitic cataclasite,beresitized cataclasite,and gouge.These zones exhibit a gradual transitional relation or occur alternately and repeatedly.The mineralization degree of the pyritized cataclastic granite-type ore in the deep part of the Jiaojia metallogenic belt is closely related to the degree of pyrite vein development;that is,the higher the pyrite content,the wider the veins and the higher the gold grade.Compared to the shallow gold ores,the deep-seated gold ores have higher fineness and contain joseite,tetradymite,and native bismuth,suggesting that the deep gold mineralization temperature is higher and that mantle-sourced material may have contributed to this mineralization.ZK01 has also revealed that the deep-seated ore bodies in the Jiaojia metallogenic belt are principally situated above the main fracture plane(gouge)and hosted within the Linglong Granite,contradicting previous findings indicating that the moderately shallow gold ore bodies are usually hosted in the contact zone between the Linglong Granite and Jiaodong Group or meta-gabbro.These new discoveries are particularly significant because they can help correct mineralization prospecting models,determine favorable positions for deep prospecting,and improve metallogenic prediction and resource potential evaluation. | Xue-feng Yu Da-peng Li Jing-xiang Tian De-ping Yang Wei Shan Ke Geng Yu-xin Xiong Nai-jie Chi Peng-fei Wei Peng-rui Liu | 2020 | China Geology2020,3,3: | 2 |
| 16 | Clustering of Non-communicable Diseases Risk Factors in Healthy Adults Aged 35 Years and Older in Shenzhen,China显示文摘We assessed the prevalence of non‐ communicable diseases(NCDs) risk factors with a focus on their clustering among healthy adults in Shenzhen, China. Data from the 2011 China Health and Nutrition Survey, comprising a regionally representative sample of 806 healthy adults aged 35 years or older, were obtained to determine the prevalence of five risk factors for NCDs. The prevalence of current smoking, central obesity, impaired fasting glucose, borderline hypertension, and borderline high total cholesterol was 19.97%, 28.29%, 4.47%, 10.55%, and 36.10%, respectively. A total 63.77% of participants had at least one risk factor. Upon examination of risk factor clustering, we observed that 7.57% of participants had at least three risk factors. Using this threshold as a cutoff, clustering of risk factors was associated with sex [odds ratio(OR) = 3.336, 95% confidence interval(CI): 1.782 to 6.246], physical activity(OR = 1.913, 95% CI: 1.009 to 3.628), and BMI(OR = 7.376, 95% CI: 3.812 to 14.270). | 18 | Transcriptome-wide evolutionary analysis on essential brown algae(Phaeophyceae)in China显示文摘Brown algae(Chromista,Ochrophyta,Phaeophyceae) are a large group of multicellular algae that play important roles in the ocean's ecosystem and biodiversity.However,poor molecular bases for studying their phylogenetic evolutions and novel metabolic characteristics have hampered progress in the field.In this study,we sequenced the de novo transcriptome of 18 major species of brown algae in China,covering six orders and seven families,using the high-throughput sequencing platform Illumina HiSeq 2000.From the transcriptome data of these 18 species and publicly available genome data of Ectocarpus siliculosus and Phaeodactylum tricornutum,we identified 108 nuclear-generated orthologous genes and clarified the phylogenetic relationships among these brown algae based on a multigene method.These brown algae could be separated into two clades: Clade Ishigeales-Dictyotales and Clade Ectocarpales-Laminariales-Desmarestiale-Fucales.The former was at the base of the phylogenetic tree,indicating its early divergence,while the latter was divided into two branches,with Order Fucales diverging from Orders Ectocarpales,Laminariales,and Desmarestiale.In our analysis of taxonomy-contentious species,Sargassum fusiforme and Saccharina sculpera were found to be closely related to genera Sargassum and Saccharina,respectively,while Petalonia fascia showed possible relation to genus Scytosiphon.The study provided molecular evidence for the phylogenetic taxonomy of brown algae. | SUN Jing WANG Liang WU Shuangxiu WANG Xumin XIAO Jingfa CHI Shan LIU Cui REN Lufeng ZHAO Yuhui LIU Tao YU Jun | 2014 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2014,33,2: | 2 |
| 19 | Culture and Identification of Myoblasts Isolated from Duck Embryos显示文摘[Objective] Using embryonic myoblasts to research the formation and developmental mechanisms of skeletal muscle is becoming a research hotspot. This study aimed to establish a method of isolation, culture and identification of myoblasts in duck embryos. [Method] Pectoral and leg muscle samples were isolated from the embryos of Gaoyou duck at 13 d of hatching, then disassociated with collagenase and trypsin and purified via differential adhesion. The isolated cells were cultured in vitro and detected for the expression of Pax7 protein using immunofluorescence technique. [Result] Myoblasts were obtained successfully both from pectoral and leg muscles in duck embryos and these cells proliferated strongly and differentiated well. Immunofluorescence staining showed that more than 95% cells could express Pax7 protein. | 20 | Studies on the isolation and culture of protoplasts from Kappaphycus alvarezii显示文摘In this study, protoplasts were successfully isolated from Kappaphycus alvarezii using snail enzymes, abalone enzymes and cellulase. The optimum enzymic ratio was fixed to be 20% of abalone enzyme, 12% of cellulase and the osmotic stabilizer was 2.0 mol/L glucose. The optimum enzymic hydrolysis conditions were found to be dark enzymolysis at 30°C continuing for 4.0 h. The resultant density and yield of protoplasts achieved 32.60×104 mL-1, 65.20×104 g-1 tissue for Kappaphycus alvarezii.
