| 1 | EMT-associated microRNAs and their roles in cancer stemness and drug resistance显示文摘Epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition(EMT)is implicated in a wide array of malignant behaviors of cancers,including proliferation,invasion,and metastasis.Most notably,previou studies have indicated that both cancer stem-like properties and drug resistance were associated with EMT.Furthermore,microRNAs(miRNAs)play a pivotal role in the regulation of EMT phenotype,as a result,some miRNAs impact cancer stemness and drug resistance.Therefore,understanding the relationship between EMT-associated miRNAs and cancer stemness/drug resistance is beneficial to both basic research and clinical treatment.In this review,we preliminarily looked into the various roles that the EMT-associated miRNAs play in the stem-like nature of malignant cells.Then,we reviewed the interaction between EMT-associated miRNAs and the drugresistant complex signaling pathways of multiple cancers including lung cancer,gastric cancer,gynecologic cancer,breast cancer,liver cancer,colorectal cancer,pancreatic cancer,esophageal cancer,and nasopharyngeal cancer.We finally discussed the relationship between EMT,cancer stemness,and drug resistance,as well as looked forward to the potential applications of miRNA therapy for malignant tumors. | Guangtao Pan Yuhan Liu Luorui Shang Fangyuan Zhou Shenglan Yang | 2021 | Cancer Communications2021,41,3: | 46 |
| 2 | Multi-label dimensionality reduction and classification with extreme learning machines显示文摘In the need of some real applications, such as text categorization and image classification, the multi-label learning gradually becomes a hot research point in recent years. Much attention has been paid to the research of multi-label classification algorithms. Considering the fact that the high dimensionality of the multi-label datasets may cause the curse of dimensionality and will hamper the classification process, a dimensionality reduction algorithm, named multi-label kernel discriminant analysis(MLKDA), is proposed to reduce the dimensionality of multi-label datasets. MLKDA, with the kernel trick, processes the multi-label integrally and realizes the nonlinear dimensionality reduction with the idea similar with linear discriminant analysis(LDA). In the classification process of multi-label data, the extreme learning machine(ELM) is an efficient algorithm in the premise of good accuracy. MLKDA, combined with ELM, shows a good performance in multi-label learning experiments with several datasets. | 4 | Activation of transmembrane receptor tyrosine kinase DDR1-STAT3 cascade by extracellular matrix remodeling promotes liver metastatic colonization in uveal melanoma显示文摘Colonization is believed a rate-limiting step of metastasis cascade.However,its underlying mechanism is not well understood.Uveal melanoma(UM),which is featured with single organ liver metastasis,may provide a simplified model for realizing the complicated colonization process.Because DDR1 was identified to be overexpressed in UM cell lines and specimens,and abundant pathological deposition of extracellular matrix collagen,a type of DDR1 ligand,was noted in the microenvironment of liver in metastatic patients with UM,we postulated the hypothesis that DDR1 and its ligand might ignite the interaction between UM cells and their surrounding niche of liver thereby conferring strengthened survival,proliferation,sternness and eventually promoting metastatic colonization in liver.We tested this hypothesis and found that DDR1 promoted these malignant cellular phenotypes and facilitated metastatic colonization of UM in liver.Mechanistically,UM cells secreted TGF-β1 which induced quiescent hepatic stellate cells(qHSCs)into activated HSCs(aHSCs)which secreted collagen type I.Such a remodeling of extracellular matrix,in turn,activated DDR1,strengthening survival through upregulating STAT3-dependent Mcl-1 expression,enhancing sternness via upregulating STAT3-dependent S0X2,and promoting clonogenicity in cancer cells.Targeting DDR1 by using 7rh,a specific inhibitor,repressed proliferation and survival in vitro and in vivo outgrowth.More importantly,targeting cancer cells by pharmacological inactivation of DDR1 or targeting microenvironmental TGF-β1-collagen I loop exhibited a prominent anti-metastasis effect in mice.In conclusion,targeting DDR1 signaling and TGF-β1 signaling may be a novel approach to diminish hepatic metastasis in UM. | Wei Dai Shenglan Liu Shubo Wang Li Zhao Xiao Yang Jingfeng Zhou Yun Wang Jing Zhang Ping Zhang Ke Ding Yangqiu Li Jingxuan Pan | 2021 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,6: | 3 |

| 6 | Impact of immunization programs on 11 childhood vaccine-preventable diseases in China: 1950–2018显示文摘To evaluate the achievements of China’s immunization program between 1950 and 2018,we chose 11 vaccine-preventable diseases(VPDs)as representative notifiable diseases and used annual surveillance data obtained between 1950 and 2018 to derive disease incidence and mortality trends.Quasi-Poisson and polynomial regression models were used to estimate the impacts of specific vaccine programs,and life-table methods were used to calculate the loss of life expectancy,years of life lost,and loss of working years.The total notification number for the 11 VPDs was 211,866,000 from 1950 to 2018.The greatest number occurred in 1959,with a total incidence of 1,723 per million persons.From 1978 to 2018,a substantial decline was observed in the incidence of major infectious diseases.The incidence of pertussis fell 98%from 126.35 to 1.58 per million,and the incidences of measles,meningococcal meningitis,and Japanese encephalitis fell 99%,99%,and 98%,respectively.The regression models showed that most of the 11 diseases exhibited dramatic declines in morbidity after their integration into the Expanded Program on Immunization(EPI),while varicella and paratyphoid fever,which were not integrated into the EPI,showed increased morbidity.From 1978 to 2018,the total life expectancy for the 11 VPDs increased by 0.79 years,and similar results were obtained for different age groups.China has had great success in controlling VPDs in recent decades,and improving vaccination coverage is a key aspect of controlling VPDs in China. | Jinhua Pan Yesheng Wang Lingsheng Cao Ying Wang Qi Zhao Shenglan Tang Wenfeng Gong Lei Guo Zhixi Liu Zexuan Wen Bo Zheng Weibing Wang | 2021 | The Innovation2021,2,2: | 2 |

| 10 | Exploring the complex structural evolution of global primary product trade network显示文摘The production and trade of primary products had a growing impact on the economic security of all countries and regions,and the strategic position of these products in the global trade network was becoming increasingly prominent.Based on complex network theory,this paper explored the spatial pattern and complex structural evolution of the global primary product trade network(GPPTN)during 1985-2015 by using index methods,such as centrality,Sankey diagram,and structure entropy,focusing on the diversified spatial structure of China’s import and export markets for primary products(with exceptions of Taiwan of China,Hong Kong of China,and Macao of China due to a lack of data)and their geographical implications for China’s energy security.The research offered the following key findings.The GPPTN showed an obvious spatial heterogeneity pattern,and the area of import consumption was more concentrated;however,the overall trend was decentralized.The trade center of gravity shifted eastwards and reflected the rise of emerging markets.The overall flow of the GPPTN was from west to east and from south to north.In terms of the community detection of the GPPTN,North America,Europe,and Asia increasingly presented an unbalanced“tripartite confrontation”.China’s exports of primary products were mainly concentrated in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN)and other peripheral regions of Asia,and its imports undergone a major transformation,gradually expanding from the peripheral regions of Asia to Africa,the Middle East,Latin America,and other parts of the world.Energy fuels also became the largest imported primary products.Based on the changing trend of structural entropy and main market share,the analysis showed that the stable supply of China’s energy diversification was gradually realized.In particular,the cooperation dividend proposed by the Belt and Road initiative became an important turning point and a strong support for the expansion of China’s energy market diversification pattern and guarantee of energy security. | JIANG Xiaorong LIU Qing WANG Shenglan | 2022 | Regional Sustainability2022,3,1: | 1 |

| 13 | Prediction of the thermal conductivity of Mg–Al–La alloys by CALPHAD method显示文摘Mg-Al alloys have excellent strength and ductility but relatively low thermal conductivity due to Al addition.The accurate prediction of thermal conductivity is a prerequisite for designing Mg-Al alloys with high thermal conductivity.Thus,databases for predicting temperature-and composition-dependent thermal conductivities must be established.In this study,Mg-Al-La alloys with different contents of Al2La,Al3La,and Al11La3phases and solid solubility of Al in the α-Mg phase were designed.The influence of the second phase(s) and Al solid solubility on thermal conductivity was investigated.Experimental results revealed a second phase transformation from Al_(2)La to Al_(3)La and further to Al_(11)La_(3)with the increasing Al content at a constant La amount.The degree of the negative effect of the second phase(s) on thermal diffusivity followed the sequence of Al2La>Al3La>Al_(11)La_(3).Compared with the second phase,an increase in the solid solubility of Al in α-Mg remarkably reduced the thermal conductivity.On the basis of the experimental data,a database of the reciprocal thermal diffusivity of the Mg-Al-La system was established by calculation of the phase diagram (CALPHAD)method.With a standard error of±1.2 W/(m·K),the predicted results were in good agreement with the experimental data.The established database can be used to design Mg-Al alloys with high thermal conductivity and provide valuable guidance for expanding their application prospects. | Hongxia Li Wenjun Xu Yufei Zhang Shenglan Yang Lijun Zhang Bin Liu Qun Luo Qian Li | 2024 | International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2024,31,1: | 0 |
| 14 | Impact of the national hepatitis B immunization program in China:a modeling study显示文摘Background:Elimination of hepatitis B virus(HBV)is a striking challenge for countries with high or moderate disease burden.Therefore,using China as a practical case to share experiences for similar countries may accelerate the achievement of the WHO 2030 target of 90%reduction in HBV-related incidence.We aim to evaluate the impact of national HBV immunization strategies in China;and the feasibility to achieve WHO 2030 targets under diferent scenarios.Methods:We constructed an expanded Susceptible-Exposed-Infectious-Recovered(SEIR)model and decision treeMarkov model to estimate the epidemic of HBV in China,assess the feasibility of 2030 Elimination Goals through the projections and conduct the economic analysis.Least square method was used to calibrate the expanded SEIR model by yearly data of laboratory-confrmed HBV cases from 1990 to 2018.Two models were separately used to evaluate the impact and cost-efectiveness of HBV vaccine by comparing prevalence of chronic HBV infections,qualityadjusted life-years(QALYs),incremental cost efectiveness ratio and beneft–cost ratio(BCR)under various intervention options,providing a basis for exploring new containment strategies.Results:Between 1990 and 2020,the number of chronic HBV infections decreased by 33.9%.The current status quo would lead to 55.73 million infections(3.95%prevalence)in 2030,compared to 90.63 million(6.42%prevalence)of the“Without the NIP”scenario(NIP:National Immunization Program),114.78 million(8.13%prevalence)without any interventions.The prevention of mother to child transmission(PMTCT)strategy showed a net beneft as 12,283.50 dollars per person,with BCR as 12.66,which is higher than that of universal vaccination at 9.49.Compared with no screening and no vaccination,the PMTCT strategy could save 7726.03 dollars for each QALY increase.Conclusions:Our fndings proved the HBV vaccination has demonstrated a substantial positive impact on controlling the epidemic of HBV in terms of efectiveness and economy after about 30 years of implementation of the national hepatitis B immunization program which also provided containment experience for high or medium burden countries.As for China,the next step should focus on exploring strategies to improve diagnosis and treatment coverage to reduce the burden of HBV-related deaths and ultimately eliminate HBV. | Zhixi Liu Mengying Li David W.Hutton Abram L.Wagner Ye Yao Wenlong Zhu Lingsheng Cao Shenglan Tang Jinhua Pan Yesheng Wang Qi Zhao Hong Ren Ying Wang Weibing Wang | 2022 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2022,11,5: | 0 |
| 15 | Preparation and Performance of Pueraria lobata Root Powder/Polylactic Acid Composite Films显示文摘Petroleum-based materials,such as plastic,are characterized by adverse environmental pollution;as a result,researchers have sought alternative degradable plastics that are environmentally friendly,such as polylactic acid(PLA).PLA has shown great potential to replace petroleum-based plastics.In this study,seven different samples of unmodified Pueraria lobata root powder(PRP)with different contents(i.e.,0,5,10,15,20,25,and 30 wt%)and three different modified PRPs(i.e.,treated with NaOH,NaOH-KH-550,and Formic)were used to reinforce polylactic acid(PLA)via solution casting process.These prepared PRP/PLA composite films were characterized using SEM,FTIR,UV-visible spectra analysis,TG,DSC,weight loss measurement(wt%),and mechanical measurements.The results showed that the PRP modified with KH-550(PRPK)intensified the interaction in the interface region between the PRP and the PLA matrix,thus increasing the tensile strength(54.5 MPa),elongation at break(2.8%),and Young’s modulus(3310 MPa)of the PRPK/PLA biofilms.Contact angle measurement showed that the PRP treatments contributed to the hydrophobicity of films.The transparency of PRP-10/PLA film atλ_(800)was 11.09%,and its UVA and UVB transmittance were 3.28 and 1.16,respectively.After blending PLA with PRP,the PRP/PLA composite films exhibited excellent biodegradability.In summary,PRPK improved the mechanical properties of PLA and prevented the films from ultraviolet light,suggesting that PRPK-5/PLA film could be used as packaging materials. | Shuang Zhao Shenglan Chen Shuan Ren Gang Li Ke Song Jie Guo Shima Liu Jian He Xianwu Zhou | 2023 | Journal of Renewable Materials2023,11,6: | 0 |

| 17 | 8-Oxoguanine DNA glycosylase protects cells from senescence via the p53-p21 pathway显示文摘Cellular senescence is an important factor leading to pulmonary fibrosis.Deficiency of 8-oxoguanine DNA glyco-sylase(OGG1)in mice leads to alleviation of bleomycin(BLM)-induced mouse pulmonary fibrosis,and inhibition of the OGG1 enzyme reduces the epithelial mesenchymal transition(EMT)in lung cells.In the present study,we find decreased expression of OGG1 in aged mice and BLM-induced cell senescence.In addition,a decrease in OGG1 expression results in cell senescence,such as increases in the percentage of SA-β-gal-positive cells,and in the p21 and p-H2AX protein levels in response to BLM in lung cells.Furthermore,OGG1 promotes cell transformation in A549 cells in the presence of BLM.We also find that OGG1 siRNA impedes cell cycle progression and inhibits the levels of telomerase reverse transcriptase(TERT)and LaminB1 in BLM-treated lung cells.The increase in OGG1 expression results in the opposite phenomenon.The mRNA levels of senescence-associated secretory phenotype(SASP)components,including IL-1α,IL-1β,IL-6,IL-8,CXCL1/CXCL2,and MMP-3,in the absence of OGG1 are obviously increased in A549 cells treated with BLM.Interestingly,we demonstrate that OGG1 binds to p53 to inhibit the activation of p53 and that silencing of p53 reverses the inhibition of OGG1 on senescence in lung cells.Ad-ditionally,the augmented cell senescence is shown in vivo in OGG1-deficient mice.Overall,we provide direct evidence in vivo and in vitro that OGG1 plays an important role in protecting tissue cells against aging associated withthep53pathway. | Shenglan Gao Lujun Chen Ziying Lin Zhiliang Xu Yahong Wang Huayu Ling Zijun Wu Yu Yin Weimin Yao Keng Wu Gang Liu | 2024 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2024,56,2: | 0 |
| 18 | The m^(6)A reader SiYTH1 enhances drought tolerance by affecting the messenger RNA stability of genes related to stomatal closure and reactive oxygen species scavenging in Setaria italica显示文摘Foxtail millet(Setaria italica),a vital drought-resistant crop,plays a significant role in ensuring food and nutritional security.However,its drought resistance mechanism is not fully understood.N6-methyladenosine(m^(6)A)modification of RNA,a prevalent epi-transcriptomic modification in eukaryotes,provides a binding site for m^(6)A readers and affects plant growth and stress responses by regulating RNA metabolism.In this study,we unveiled that the YT521-B homology(YTH)family gene SiYTH1 positively regulated the drought tolerance of foxtail millet.Notably,the siyth1 mutant exhibited reduced stomatal closure and augmented accumulation of excessive H_(2)O_(2)under drought stress.Further investigations demonstrated that SiYTH1 positively regulated the transcripts harboring m^(6)A modification related to stomatal closure and reactive oxygen species(ROS)scavenging under drought stress.SiYTH1 was uniformly distributed in the cytoplasm of SiYTH1-GFP transgenic foxtail millet.It formed dynamic liquid-like SiYTH1 cytosol condensates in response to drought stress.Moreover,the cytoplasmic protein SiYTH1 was identified as a distinct m^(6)A reader,facilitating the stabilization of its directly bound SiARDP and ROS scavenging-related transcripts under drought stress.Furthermore,natural variation analysis revealed SiYTH1AGTG as the dominant allele responsible for drought tolerance in foxtail millet.Collectively,this study provides novel insights into the intricate mechanism of m^(6)A reader-mediated drought tolerance and presents a valuable genetic resource for improving drought tolerance in foxtail millet breeding. | Weiwei Luo Yuxiang Tang Shenglan Li Linlin Zhang Yuwei Liu Renliang Zhang Xianmin Diao Jingjuan Yu | 2023 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2023,65,12: | 0 |

| 20 | Quantification of neomangiferin in rat plasma by liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry and its application to bioavailability study显示文摘Neomangiferin, a natural C-glucosyl xanthone, has recently received a great deal of attention due to its multiple biological activities. In this study, a rapid and sensitive ultra-high performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry(UHPLC–MS/MS) method for the quantification of neomangiferin in rat plasma was developed. Using chloramphenicol as an internal standard(IS), plasma samples were subjected to a direct protein precipitation process using methanol(containing 0.05% formic acid). Quantification was performed by multiple reactions monitoring(MRM) method, with the transitions of the parent ions to the product ions of m/z 583.1-330.9 for NG and m/z 321.1-151.9 for IS. The assay was shown to be linear over the range of 0.2–400 ng/m L, with a lower limit of quantification of 0.2 ng/m L. Mean recovery of neomangiferin in plasma was in the range of 97.76%–101.94%. Relative standard deviations(RSDs) of intra-day and inter-day precision were both o 10%. The accuracy of the method ranged from94.20% to 108.72%. This method was successfully applied to pharmacokinetic study of neomangiferin after intravenous(2 mg/kg) and intragastric(10 mg/kg) administration for the first time.
