2Strengthening and toughening forming of Al/Al_2O_3 composite in pseudo-semi-solid state显示文摘A new technology thixo-die-forging of the composite in pseudo-semi-solid state was proposed based on the powder metallurgy technology combing with semi-solid metal process,and the cup shells with Al/Al2O3 composite was prepared successfully.The metallographic analysis and performance test show that the microstructure of parts is dense and mechanical properties are excellent with the volume fraction of Al is 37%.The bend strength and fracture toughness of the composite are about 570-690 MPa and 8.5-16.8 MPa·m1/2,respectively.Comparing with reaction in situ and high temperature oxidation technologies the bending strength and fracture toughness are improved greatly.At the same time,it shows that the technology parameters have great influences on the properties.So it is feasible to prepare metal/ceramics composites by the proposed technology.Yuansheng CHENG Shoujing LUO 2010Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2010,23,1:5
3Deformation mechanism of compression of 2024 Al alloy in semi-solid state显示文摘The deformation mechanism of alloy in the semi-solid state has been investigated, with the compression of 2024 Al alloy in the semi-solid state as an example. Experimental results showed that the compressive deformation of 2024 Al alloy in the semi-solid state was mainly caused by the liquid flowing under the hydrostatic compressive stress, the grain boundary sliding under the shear stress and the plastic deformation of grain under the normal compressive stress. 19The inhomogeneous diffusion of chemically crosslinked polyacrylamide hydrogel based on poroviscosity theory显示文摘The diffusion of hydrogels is a phenomenon not only profound in novel applications of mechanical engineering but also very common in nature. Comprehensive studies of the swelling properties under stable states have been carried out in the past several years;however, ambiguities in the understanding of the kinetic behaviour of the diffusion phenomenon of hydrogels still remain.The potential applications of hydrogels are confined due to the lack of perceptiveness of the kinetic behaviour of diffusion in hydrogels. Based on our previous work, in this study, we initiate the theoretical kinetic study of the inhomogeneous diffusion of hydrogels. With poroviscosity introduced, we develop a theory for the inhomogeneous diffusion of hydrogels. After implementing this theory into the finite element solution, we could predict the water content in the hydrogel as a function of time and location. The quantitative prediction of the inhomogeneous diffusion and the formulas are given in the numerical study.Furthermore, the corresponding experiments are carried out to substantiate this theory. It can be observed that the theoretical prediction meets fairly well with our experimental data. Finally, we carry out a systematic parameter study to discuss the effect of three important parameters on the diffusion property. The increase of the interaction parameter is seen to constrain the diffusion while increase of the chemical potential is seen to facilitate the process. The change of the diffusion coefficient D, on the other hand, does not affect the process much.
