2Effects of permissive hypocaloric vs standard enteral feeding on gastrointestinal function and outcomes in sepsis显示文摘BACKGROUND Intestinal mucosal barrier injury and gastrointestinal dysfunction are important causes of sepsis.However,few studies have investigated the effects of enteral underfeeding on gastrointestinal function in sepsis.Moreover,no consensus on goal enteral caloric intake has been reached in sepsis.AIM To investigate the effects of different goal caloric requirements of enteral nutrition on the gastrointestinal function and outcomes in the acute phase of sepsis.METHODS Patients were randomly assigned to receive 30%(defined as group A),60%(group B),or 100%(group C)of goal caloric requirements of enteral nutrition in this prospective pilot clinical trial.The acute gastrointestinal injury(AGI)grades,incidence of feeding intolerance(FI),daily caloric intake,nutritional and inflammatory markers,and biomarkers of mucosal barrier function were collected during the first 7 d of enteral feeding.The clinical severity and outcome variables were also recorded.RESULTS A total of 54 septic patients were enrolled.The days to goal calorie of group C(2.55±0.82)were significantly longer than those of group A(3.50±1.51;P=0.046)or B(4.85±1.68;P<0.001).The FI incidence of group C(16.5%)was higher than that of group A(5.0%)or B(8.7%)(P=0.009).No difference in the incidence of FI symptoms was found between groups A and B.The serum levels of barrier function biomarkers of group B were significantly lower than those of group A(P<0.05)on the 7th day of feeding.The prealbumin and IL-6 levels of group A were lower than those of group B(P<0.05)on the 7th day of feeding.No significant differences in the clinical outcome variables or 28-d mortality were found among the three groups.CONCLUSION Early moderate enteral underfeeding(60%of goal requirements)could improve the intestinal barrier function and nutritional and inflammatory status without increasing the incidence of FI symptoms in sepsis.However,further large-scale prospective clinical trials and animal studies are required to test our findings.Moreover,the effects of different protein intake on gastrointestinal function and outcomes should also be investigated in future work.Jia-Kui Sun Shuai Nie Yong-Ming Chen Jing Zhou Xiang Wang Su-Ming Zhou Xin-Wei Mu 2021World Journal of Gastroenterology2021,27,29:9
3Flexible and wearable BaTiO_(3)/polyacrylonitrile-based piezoelectric sensor for human posture monitoring显示文摘Tactile sensors are essential components of wearable electronic devices,but there are still various problems in terms of energy supply,flexibility and skin adaptability.In this paper,we report a self-powered flexible tactile sensor(FTS)mainly composed of a BaTiO_(3)/polyacrylonitrile/Ecoflex(BTO/PAN/Ecoflex)composite film,which can be used for dynamically monitoring human plantar pressure,posture and other physiological and motion parameters.Combining the synergistic piezoelectric properties of PAN and BTO,the output voltage/current of the BTO/PAN/Ecoflex composite film is 4.5/5.8 times that of the BTO/Ecoflex composite film,with maximum instantaneous power that can reach up to 3.375μW.Under the action of external pressure stress,the FTS can reach a normalized voltage sensitivity and voltage linearity of 0.54 V/N and 0.98,respectively.Furthermore,a human-machine interaction test system is built,which can display the stress changes of human body monitoring parts in real time according to voltage changes and different color assignments.The developed human-machine interaction test system provides a new idea for the diagnosis of flatfoot and other medical diseases.Hence,this work proposes new FTSs that use a BTO/PAN/Ecoflex composite film with high sensitivity and great output performance,thus exhibiting immense potential application prospects in medical research,personalized recognition and human-machine interaction.MU JiLiang XIAN Shuai YU JunBin LI ZhengYang ZHAO JuanHong ZHONG JiXin HAN XiaoTao HOU XiaoJuan HE Jian CHOU XiuJian 2022Science China(Technological Sciences)2022,65,4:3
4Synergistic piezoelectricity enhanced BaTiO_(3)/polyacrylonitrile elastomer-based highly sensitive pressure sensor for intelligent sensing and posture recognition applications显示文摘Designing stretchable and skin-conformal self-powered sensors for intelligent sensing and posture recognition is challenging.Here,based on a multi-force mixing and vulcanization process,as well as synergistically piezoelectricity of BaTiO_(3)and polyacrylonitrile,an all-in-one,stretchable,and self-powered elastomer-based piezo-pressure sensor(ASPS)with high sensitivity is reported.The ASPS presents excellent sensitivity(0.93 V/104 Pa of voltage and 4.92 nA/104 Pa of current at a pressure of 10-200 kPa)and high durability(over 10,000 cycles).Moreover,the ASPS exhibits a wide measurement range,good linearity,rapid response time,and stable frequency response.All components were fabricated using silicone,affording satisfactory skinconformality for sensing postures.Through cooperation with a homemade circuit and artificial intelligence algorithm,an information processing strategy was proposed to realize intelligent sensing and recognition.The home-made circuit achieves the acquisition and wireless transmission of ASPS signals(transmission distance up to 50 m),and the algorithm realizes the classification and identification of ASPS signals(accuracy up to 99.5%).This study proposes not only a novel fabrication method for developing self-powered sensors,but also a new information processing strategy for intelligent sensing and recognition,which offers significant application potential in human-machine interaction,physiological analysis,and medical research.Junbin Yu Shuai Xian Zhenpeng Zhang Xiaojuan Hou Jian He Jiliang Mu Wenping Geng Xiaojun Qiao Le Zhang Xiujian Chou 2023Nano Research2023,16,4:2
5Dietary citrus pectin drives more ileal microbial protein metabolism and stronger fecal carbohydrate fermentation over fructooligosaccharide in growing pigs显示文摘Fructo-oligosaccharide(FOS)and pectin are known soluble dietary fibers and can influence gut microbiota and consequently modulate gut health.To understand the differential impact patterns of pectin vs.FOS in modulating gut microbiota in the small and large intestine,an ileal-cannulated pig model was adopted to compare the temporal and spatial effects of FOS and citrus pectin(CP)on the gut microbiota.Sixteen terminal ileal-cannulated pigs were randomly divided into 2 groups and fed with a standard diet supplemented with either 3% FOS or 3% CP for 28 d.The CP group and FOS group showed different microbial composition,especially in the feces,with time and location as major factors affecting microbiota in the CP group,and with only location contribution in the FOS group.In the feces,relative to the FOS group,the CP group showed higher abundance of Christensenellaceae R-7 group and Ruminococcaceae UCG-010 and lower abundance of Mitsuokella and Olsenella(adjusted P<0.05),a higher level of shortchain fatty acids and a lower level of lactate at both d 14 and 25(P<0.05),and more copy numbers of genes encoding key enzymes related to propionate(mmd A)and butyrate(BCo AT)production and lactate utilization(Lcd A)(P<0.05),indicating a greater degree of microbial carbohydrate fermentation.In the ileum,as compared with FOS,CP increased the bacteria with high capability of fermenting amino acids,including Escherichia-Shigella and Klebsiella(adjusted P<0.05),and the expression of enzymes responsible for amino acid fermentation(i.e.lysine decarboxylase),as well as the amino acid fermentation products(cadaverine and tyramine)(P<0.05),indicating a greater degree of amino acid fermentation.Overall,our results highlight a differential dynamic impact of dietary CP vs.FOS on microbial composition and metabolism in the gut.The dietary CP has a stronger ability to promote microbial amino acid fermentation in the ileum and carbohydrate fermentation in the feces than FOS.These findings provide a new insight into the role of different fibers in gut nutrition and guidelines for the choice of fibers in manipulating gut health.Yanan Zhang Chunlong Mu Shuai Liu Weiyun Zhu 2022Animal Nutrition2022,,4:2

11Superconductivity and pseudogap features of an isolated FeAs layer in KCa_(2)Fe_(4)As_(4)F_(2) unraveled by STM/STS显示文摘To reveal the intrinsic properties of the basic superconducting units,i.e.,the single layered FeSe/FeAs in iron-based superconductors or CuO_(2) planes in cuprate superconductors,is a necessary prerequisite for understanding the mechanism of high-Tc superconductivity.Up to now,an isolated FeAs layer has rarely been studied due to the difficulty in materials synthesis.Here,we report a scanning tunneling microscopy/spectroscopy(STM/STS)study on the iron-based superconductor KCa_(2)Fe_(4)As_(4)F_(2).In situ cleavage produced a single FeAs layer covered by a reconstructed K surface,which is isolated from the bulk by the underlying CaF layer and shows multi-band superconductivity with a much lower T_(c) than its bulk counterpart.In the exposed As-terminated regions with coverage of scattered K atoms,a pseudogap was observed,leading to an inhomogeneous superconductivity without long-range phase coherence in real space,which is remarkably similar to the high-T_(c) cuprate superconductors.These results provide a new perspective to understanding the origin of superconductivity in iron-based superconductors.Shuai Shao Fan Zhang Zongyuan Zhang Teng Wang Yanwei Wu Yubing Tu Jie Hou Xingyuan Hou Ning Hao Gang Mu Lei Shan 2023Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2023,66,8:1
12Hybrid electromechanical properties of hetero-doped and homogeneously bonded dual-mode pressure sensor for indoor body area network node显示文摘Pressure sensors are considerably important for continuous monitoring of human movement and the surrounding environment to construct a caregiving system for the elderly living alone.The challenge for pressure sensors that still remains is combining self-driven,comfort,and multifunctionalization.Herein,an all-in-one conformal pressure sensor(ACPS) based on a homogeneous integrated triboelectric-piezoelectric hybrid sensor is proposed.The ACPS has dual-mode sensing properties due to coupling triboelectrification and piezoelectric effect ensuring a stable response to various external stimulations.Silver-coated glass microspheres and polyacrylonitrile were uniformly filleted into the silicone rubber substrate using a hetero-doping method to create a stretchable electrode layer with flexible conformal characteristics and a piezoelectric layer with excellent piezoelectric properties,respectively.Meanwhile,the triboelectric layer was fabricated using the same silicone rubber,allowing ACPS to be homogeneously bonded into an all-in-one structure with reliable durability.This allowed various functional layers to have outstanding interface characteristics and thus improve the electrical transmission effect.The developed ACPS had outstanding sensitivity(1.04 V/10~4Pa),high linearity(about 0.984),a wide measurement range(10–700 k Pa),and can accurately and continuously distinguish multiple movements.Furthermore,using a homemade signal processing circuit,ACPSs can be deployed in the human body and the room as indoor body area network nodes.When successfully applied to the remote tracking of daily dynamic home life and the remote operation of small electrical equipment,these ACPSs can achieve real-time caregiving for the elderly living alone.As an application area desperately needed by society,this study envisions a caregiving system for the elderly living alone without violating personal privacy.Junbin YU Shuai XIAN Jinbiao MU Min WANG Yin WANG Xiaojuan HOU Le ZHANG Jian HE Jiliang MU Xiujian CHOU 2024Science China(Information Sciences)2024,67,1:0

14Synthesis and biological evaluation of novel phenothiazine derivatives as non-peptide arginine vasopressin V2 receptor antagonists显示文摘A series of novel phenothiazine derivatives was synthesized and tested for arginine vasopressin receptor antagonist activity.They were synthesized as novel arginine vasopressin receptor antagonists from phenothiazine as a scaffold via successive acylation,reduction and acylation reactions.Their structures were characterized by ~1H NMR,^(13)C NMR and HRMS,and biological activity was evaluated by in vitro and in vivo studies.The in vitro binding assay indicated that several compounds are potent selective V2 receptor antagonists.Compounds with promising binding affinity to V2 receptors were selected to conduct the in vivo diuretic studies on Sprague-Dawley rats.Among them.In,1r,1t and 1v exhibited excellent diuretic activity,especially 1 rand 1 v.Therefore,1r and 1v are potent novel AVPV2 receptor antagonist candidates.Shuang Zhi Shuai Mu Ying Liu Min Gong Ping-Bao Wang Deng-Ke Liu 2015Chinese Chemical Letters2015,26,5:0
15Superconducting Magnetic Energy Storage Based DC Unified Power Quality Conditioner with Advanced Dual Control for DC-DFIG显示文摘The development of DC custom power protection devices is still in infancy that confines the sensitive loads integrated into medium-voltage(MV) and low-voltage(LV) DC networks. Considering the DC doubly-fed induction generator(DCDFIG) based wind energy conversion system(WECS), this paper proposes a dual active bridge(DAB) based DC unified power quality conditioner(DC-UPQC) with the integration of superconducting magnetic energy storage(SMES) to maintain the terminal voltage of DC-DFIG and regulate the current flow. The principle of the proposed DC-UPQC has three parts, i.e., parallel-side DAB(PDAB), series-side DAB(SDAB), and SMES,used for the voltage compensation, current and power regulation, and energy storage, respectively. The circuit principle of the PDAB and SDAB and the modeling of SMES are analyzed in this paper. A DC dual control strategy is also proposed to deal with the DC voltage oscillation generated by the AC-side asymmetrical fault. A case study of DC-DFIG interfaced with DC power grid is carried out, integrated with the proposed SMES-based DC-UPQC to verify the high-power applications of the proposed structure.
