2Spatial prediction of landslide susceptibility using GIS-based statistical and machine learning models in Wanzhou County,Three Gorges Reservoir, China显示文摘Landslide susceptibility mapping is vital for landslide risk management and urban planning.In this study,we used three statistical models[frequency ratio,certainty factor and index of entropy(IOE)]and a machine learning model[random forest(RF)]for landslide susceptibility mapping in Wanzhou County,China.First,a landslide inventory map was prepared using earlier geotechnical investigation reports,aerial images,and field surveys.Then,the redundant factors were excluded from the initial fourteen landslide causal factors via factor correlation analysis.To determine the most effective causal factors,landslide susceptibility evaluations were performed based on four cases with different combinations of factors('cases').In the analysis,465(70%)landslide locations were randomly selected for model training,and 200(30%)landslide locations were selected for verification.The results showed that case 3 produced the best performance for the statistical models and that case 2 produced the best performance for the RF model.Finally,the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was used to verify the accuracy of each model's results for its respective optimal case.The ROC curve analysis showed that the machine learning model performed better than the other three models,and among the three statistical models,the IOE model with weight coefficients was superior.Ting Xiao Kunlong Yin Tianlu Yao Shuhao Liu 2019Acta Geochimica2019,38,5:8
3Geochemistry of Pyrite from the Gangcha Gold Deposit, West Qinling Orogen, China: Implications for Ore Genesis显示文摘The Gangcha gold deposit was discovered in 2011 in the Xiahe-Hezuo region, West Qinling Orogen, China. Five types of pyrite have been identified in the ore according to the detailed mineral paragenetic studies. Geochemical data are presented for type I pyrite(py1) rim-core zonation and for the different types of pyrite based on in-situ laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(LA-ICP-MS) and electron probe microanalysis(EPMA). The results show that pyrites are characterized with heterogeneous Au concentrations, which indicate that Au occurs mainly as micro-or nano-particle native inclusions. Time-resolved depth profiles demonstrate that As, Co and Ni occur as solid solutions in pyrite, whereas Cu, Pb, Zn and Ag occur mainly as inclusions. Trace element concentrations differ between rims and cores in py1, and the differences also exist within different pyrite types. 4Optimal Operation of an Integrated Electricity-heat Energy System Considering Flexible Resources Dispatch for Renewable Integration显示文摘Large fluctuations may occur on the energy supply and the load sides when large-scale renewable energies are integrated,leading to great challenges in power systems.The renewable power curtailment is especially numerous in the integrated electricity-heat energy system(IEHES)on account of electricity-heat coupling.The flexible resources(FRs)on both the energy supply and load sides are introduced into the optimal dispatch of the IEHES and further modeled to alleviate the renewable fluctuations in this paper.On the energy supply side,three kinds of FRs based on electricity-heat coordination are modeled and discussed.On the load side,the shiftable electricity demand resource is characterized.On this basis,the solution for FRs participating in IEHES dispatch is given,with goals of maximizing the renewable penetration ratio and lowering operation costs.Two scenarios are performed,and the results indicate that the proposed optimal dispatch strategy can effectively reduce the renewable energy curtailment and improve the flexibility of the IEHES.The contribution degrees of different FRs for renewable integration are also explored.Wei Wang Shuhao Huang Guangming Zhang Jizhen Liu Zhe Chen 2021Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2021,9,4:3
5Regulating the d band in WS_(2)@NC hierarchical nanospheres for efficient lithium polysulfide conversion in lithium-sulfur batteries显示文摘The performance of lithium-sulfur batteries is deteriorated by the inferior conductivity of sulfur,the shuttle effect of lithium polysulfides(LiPSs),sluggish redox kinetics of polysulfide intermediates and serious volumetric expansion of sulfur.To overcome these challenges,we report a versatile route to prepare multi-functional nanocomposites with tuable hierarchical structure via ammonium hydroxide(NH_(3)·H_(2) O)induced self-assembly.The versatility of the system has been demonstrated that the organization of the hierarchical structure can be regulated by adding different amounts of NH_(3)·H_(2) O,and WS_(2) and Co_(9)S_(8) with nitrogen-doped carbon coating(denoted as WS_(2)@NC and Co_(9)S_(8)@NC)can be prepared by adding different precursor salts.When the as-prepared materials are applied for Li-S batteries,the WS_(2)@NC composite exhibits a reversible capacity of 1107.4 mAh g^(-1) at 0.1 C after 500 cycles and even 728.9 mAh g^(-1) at2 C for 1000 cycles,which is significantly better than the Co_(9)S_(8) counterpart and other reported WS_(2) sulfur hosts.Experimentally,the advantageous performance of WS_(2) could be attributed to its higher surface area and total pore volume,giving rise to the easier access to electrolyte and better ability to buffer the volume change during the charge/discharge process.Theoretically,the density function theory(DFT)calculation reveals that the as-prepared WS_(2) has a higher binding energy towards LiPSs as well as a lower energy barrier for Li^(+)diffusion on the surface than Co_(9)S_(8).More significantly,the density of states(DOS)analysis further confirms that the superior performance is mainly ascribed to the more prominent shifting and the more charge compensation from d band of W than Co,which increase electronic concentration and give more hybridization of d-p orbitals in the Fermi level of the adsorbed Li2 S4 to accelerate the lithium polysulfide interfacial redox and conversion dynamics in WS_(2).By proposing this mechanism,this work sheds new light on the understanding of catalytic conversion of lithium polysulfides at the atomic level and the strategy to develop advanced cathode materials for high-performance lithium-sulfur batteries.Jintao Liu Shuhao Xiaoa Le Chang Long Lai Rui Wu Yong Xiang Xingquan Liu Jun Song Chen 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,5:2
6Insulin peptides and their receptors regulate ovarian development and oviposition behavior in Diaphorina citri显示文摘Diaphorina citri is an important vector of Citrus Huanglongbing(HLB)disease.After feeding on young host plant shoots,the population of D.citri can increase significantly.Females also only lay eggs on young shoots.However,there are few studies on the mechanism of this phenomenon.Exogenous nutrient signals can affect the insulin signaling system of D.citri after feeding on young shoots.In this study,the expression of upstreamfactors DclLPl,DclLP2,and DclR in the insulin signaling system of D.citri was upregulated after feeding on young shoots.After being silenced by RNA interference technology,the results showed that the number of oviposited eggs of D.citri was significantly decreased and the ovarian development was inhibited with severe vacuolation.In addition,detection using quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction showed that the upstream regulatory gene DcRheb of the target of rapamycin(TOR)pathway and the downstream reproduction-related DcVg gene were also significantly downregulated.These results suggest that feeding upon young shoots may upregulate the expression levels of upstream factors DclLPl,DclLP2,and DclR in the insulin signaling system.The signal will be through upregulating the expression of DcRheb,an upstream gene of the TOR signaling pathway.This in turn influences yolk metabolism,which eventually causes the ovaries of female D.citri to mature and therefore initiate oviposition behavior.Ziye Wang Delong Tan Feifeng Wana Shuhao Guo Jinhua Liu Andrew G.S.Cuthbertson Baoli Qiu Wen Sang 2023Insect Science2023,30,1:1
7Band gap narrowing of TiO_2 by compensated codoping for enhanced photocatalytic activity显示文摘In this study,we have performed first-principles screened exchanged hybrid density function theory with the HSE06 function calculations of the C-Mo,C-W,N-Nb and N-Ta codoped anatase TiO 2 systems to investigate the effect of codoping on the electronic structure of TiO 2.The calculated results demonstrate that(W(s)+C(s)) codoped TiO 2 narrows the band gap significantly,and have little influence on the position of conduction band edges,therefore,enhances the efficiency of the photocatalytic hydrogen generation from water and the photodegradation of organic pollutants.Moreover,the proper oxygen pressure and temperature are two key factors during synthesis which should be carefully under control so that the desired(W(s)+C(s)) codoped TiO 2 can be obtained.Jindou Huang Shuhao Wen Jianyong Liu Guozhong He 2012Journal of Natural Gas Chemistry2012,21,3:1

9Effect of structure parameters on forces acting on baffles used in gas-solids fluidized beds显示文摘Effects of some important structural parameters,i.e.slat pitch,and layout position,on dynamic forces acting on the baffles were examined in the fluidized bed of FCC particles operating under different superficial gas velocities.The experimental baffles were made of multiple inclined slats.We found that the forces acting on the baffles decreased significantly with reducing pitch between the slats.For the baffles with a small slat pitch,the forces acting on the baffles increased slightly and then decreased with increasing superficial gas velocity,which is very different from the measured results of a single slat or tube immersed in fluidized beds.The different results are greatly related to the appearance of the“gas cushion”beneath the baffles,whose height increases with increasing superficial gas velocity.On the other hand,a region with stronger particle circulation induced by the inclined slat array was observed in the experiments.The slat near the wall and located below the region of downward-flowing particles was found to be subjected to the severest forces.Therefore,the slats located in similar locations of industrial baffles are suggested to be reinforced to increase their structural strength.Duiping Liu Yongmin Zhang Shuhao Zhang Adefarati Oloruntoba 2022Particuology2022,20,2:1

11On Scaling Software-Defined Networking in Wide-Area Networks显示文摘Software-Defined Networking(SDN) has emerged as a promising direction for next-generation network design. Due to its clean-slate and highly flexible design, it is believed to be the foundational principle for designing network architectures and improving their flexibility, resilience, reliability, and security. As the technology matures,research in both industry and academia has designed a considerable number of tools to scale software-defined networks, in preparation for the wide deployment in wide-area networks. In this paper, we survey the mechanisms that can be used to address the scalability issues in software-defined wide-area networks. Starting from a successful distributed system, the Domain Name System, we discuss the essential elements to make a large scale network infrastructure scalable. Then, the existing technologies proposed in the literature are reviewed in three categories: scaling out/up the data plane and scaling the control plane. 16Effect of silicon-doped calcium phosphate cement on angiogenesis based on controlled macrophage polarization显示文摘Vascularization is an important early indicator of osteogenesis involving biomaterials. Bone repair and new bone formation are associated with extensive neovascularization. Silicon-based biomaterials have attracted widespread attention due to their rapid vascularization. Although calcium phosphate cement (CPC) is a mature substitute for bone, the application of CPC is limited by its slow degradation and insufficient promotion of neovascularization. Calcium silicate (CS) has been shown to stimulate vascular endothelial proliferation. Thus, CS may be added to CPC (CPC–CS) to improve the biocompatibility and neovascularization of CPC. In the early phase of bone repair (the inflammatory phase), macrophages accumulate around the biomaterial and exert both anti- and pro-inflammatory effects. However, the effect of CPC–CS on macrophage polarization is not known, and it is not clear whether the effect on neovascularization is mediated through macrophage polarization. In the present study, we explored whether silicon-mediated macrophage polarization contributes to vascularization by evaluating the CPC–CS-mediated changes in the immuno-environment under different silicate ion contents both in vivo and in vitro. We found that the silicon released from CPC–CS can promote macrophage polarization into the M2 phenotype and rapid endothelial neovascularization during bone repair. Dramatic neovascularization and osteogenesis were observed in mouse calvarial bone defects implanted with CPC–CS containing 60% CS. These findings suggest that CPC–CS is a novel biomaterial that can modulate immune response, promote endothelial proliferation, and facilitate neovascularization and osteogenesis. 17Incorporating mesopelagic fish into the evaluation of conservation areas for marine living resources under climate change scenarios显示文摘Mesopelagic fish(meso-fish)are central species within the Southern Ocean(SO).However,their ecosystem role and adaptive capacity to climate change are rarely integrated into protected areas assessments.This is a pity given their importance as crucial prey and predators in food webs,coupled with the impacts of climate change.Here,we estimate the habitat distribution of nine meso-fish using an ensemble model approach(MAXENT,random forest,and boosted regression tree).Four climate model simulations were used to project their distribution under two representative concentration pathways(RCP4.5 and RCP8.5)for short-term(2006–2055)and long-term(2050–2099)periods.In addition,we assess the ecological representativeness of protected areas under climate change scenarios using meso-fish as indicator species.Our models show that all species shift poleward in the future.Lanternfishes(family Myctophidae)are predicted to migrate poleward more than other families(Paralepididae,Nototheniidae,Bathylagidae,and Gonostomatidae).In comparison,lanternfishes were projected to increase habitat area in the eastern SO but lose area in the western SO;the opposite was projected for species in other families.Important areas(IAs)of meso-fish are mainly distributed near the Antarctic Peninsula and East Antarctica.Negotiated protected area cover 23% of IAs at present and 38%of IAs in the future(RCP8.5,long-term future).Many IAs of meso-fish still need to be included in protected areas,such as the Prydz Bay and the seas around the Antarctic Peninsula.Our results provide a framework for evaluating protected areas incorporating climate change adaptation strategies for protected areas management.Shuhao Liu Yang Liu Katharina Teschke Mark AHindell Rachel Downey Briannyn Woods Bin Kang Shuyang Ma Chi Zhang Jianchao Li Zhenjiang Ye Peng Sun Jianfeng He Yongjun Tian 2024Marine Life Science & Technology2024,6,1:0
18Pijx confers broad-spectrum seedling and panicle blast resistance by promoting the degradation of ATP β subunit and OsRbohC-mediated ROS burst in rice显示文摘Rice blast,caused by the fungal pathogen Magnaporthe oryzae,is one of the most important diseases of rice.Utilization of blast-resistance genes is the most economical,effective,and environmentally friendly way to control the disease.However,genetic resources with broad-spectrum resistance(BSR)that is effective throughout the rice growth period are rare.In this work,using a genome-wide association study,we identify a new blast-resistance gene,Pijx,which encodes a typical CC-NBS-LRR protein.Pijx is derived from a wild rice species and confers BSR to M.oryzae at both the seedling and panicle stages.The functions of the resistant haplotypes of Pijx are confirmed by gene knockout and overexpression experiments.Mechanistically,the LRR domain in Pijx interacts with and promotes the degradation of the ATP synthase β subunit(ATPb)via the 26S proteasome pathway.ATPb acts as a negative regulator of Pijx-mediated panicle blast resistance,and interacts with OsRbohC to promote its degradation.Consistently,loss of ATPb function causes an increase in NAPDH content and ROS burst.Remarkably,when Pijx is introgressed into two japonica rice varieties,the introgression lines show BSR and increased yields that are approximately 51.59%and 79.31%higher compared with those of their parents in a natural blast disease nursery.In addition,we generate PPL^(Pijx Pigm) and PPL^(Pijx Piz-t) pyramided lines and these lines also have higher BSR to panicle blast compared with Pigm-or Piz-t-containing rice plants.Collectively,this study demonstrates that Pijx not only confers BSR to M.oryzae but also maintains high and stable rice yield,providing new genetic resources and molecular targets for breeding rice varieties with broad-spectrum blast resistance.Ning Xiao Yunyu Wu Xiaoxiang Zhang Zeyun Hao Zichun Chen Zefeng Yang Yue Cai Ruyi Wang Ling Yu Zhiping Wang Yue Lu Wei Shi Cunhong Pan Yuhong Li Changhai Zhou Jianju Liu Niansheng Huang Guangqing Liu Hongjuan Ji Shuhao Zhu Shuai Fang Yuese Ning Aihong Li 2023Molecular Plant2023,16,11:0
19Growth inhibition and oxidative stress in two species of marine diatoms exposed to 1-phenylethanol显示文摘1-phenylethanol (1-PEA) is a flavor extensively used in the production of cosmetics, beverages, and food. The release of 1-PEA into coastal environments has aroused great concern. However, its potential effects on marine organisms are still unknown. In order to provide a better understanding of the ecological risks of 1-PEA in marine environments, this study determined the toxic effects of 1-PEA on two marine diatoms (Phaeodactylum tricornutum and Skeletonema costatum). The diatoms were grown in culture medium containing different concentrations of 1-PEA for 96 h. The contents of chlorophyll a, chlorophyll c, glutathione (GSH), malondialdehyde (MDA), and the activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT) and glutathione peroxidase (GPx), were measured at the end of the exposure period. 1-PEA was shown to significantly inhibit the growth of diatoms, with 96-h EC50 values of 257.14 mg/Land 126.46 mg/L in P. tricornutum and S. costatum, respectively. In P. tricornutum, the levels of SOD, CAT, GPx, GSH, and MDA were stimulated only when 1-PEA concentrations were close to or greater than the 96-h EC50 value. However, in S. costatum, the activities of SOD and CAT, and the syntheses of two chlorophylls were inhibited even at an exposure concentration below the 96-h EC50 value.
