| 1 | An Important Spreading Event of the Neo-Tethys Ocean during the Late Jurassic and Early Cretaceous: Evidence from Zircon U-Pb SHRIMP Dating on Diabase in Nagarze, Southern Tibet显示文摘Widely distributed in Gyangze-Chigu area, southern Tibet, NW- and nearly E-W-trending diabase(gabbro)-gabbro diorite dykes are regarded as the product of the large-scale spreading of the late Neo-Tethys Ocean. In order to constrain the emplacement age of these dykes, zircons of two samples from diabases in Nagarze were dated by using the U-Pb SHRIMP method. Two nearly the same weighted mean 206Pb/238U ages were obtained in this paper, which are 134.9±1.8 Ma (MSWD= 0.65) and 135.5±2.1 Ma (MSWD=1.40), respectively. They not only represent the crystallization age of the diabase, but also documented an important spreading event of the Neo-Tethys Ocean during the late Jurassic and early Cretaceous. | 2 | Effects of landuse change on surface runoff and sediment yield at different watershed scales on the Loess Plateau显示文摘Erosion and sediment yield from large and small watersheds exhibit different laws. Variations in surface runoff and sediment yield because of landuse change in four watersheds of different scales from 1 km2 to 73 km2 were analyzed. Due to reforestation and farmland terracing, surface runoff and sediment yield reduced by 20-100% and 10-100% respectively. Reductions in surface runoff were differed significantly under different precipitation regimes. For the large watershed (73 km2) landuse change had similar effects on surface runoff regardless of changing of precipitation. For the small watershed (1 km2) landuse change had fewer effects on surface runoff under high precipitation. The relative changes of sediment yield in the four watersheds under reforestation and farmland terracing decreased as precipitation increased from 350 mm to 650 mm, then increased as precipitation increased from 650 mm to 870 mm. Where initial forest coverage rate was below 45%, sediment yield decreased dramatically as forest coverage rate increased. | 3 | ^(40)Ar/^(39)Ar Dating of Deformation Events and Reconstruction of Exhumation of Ultrahigh-Pressure Metamorphic Rocks in Donghai, East China显示文摘Recent investigations reveal that the ultrahigh-pressure metamorphic(UHPM)rocks in the Donghai region of East China underwent ductile and transitional ductile-brittle structural events during their exhumation.The earlier ductile deformation took place under the condition of amphibolite facies and the later transitional ductile-brittle deformation under the ondition of greenschist facies.The hanging walls moved southeastward during both of these two events.The ^40Ar/^39Ar dating of muscovites from muscovite-plagioclase schists in the Haizhou phosphorous mine,which are structurally overlain by UHPM rocks,yields a plateau age of 218.0±2.9 Ma and isochron age of 219.8Ma,indicating that the earlier event of the ampibolite-facies deformation probably took place about 220Ma ago.The ^40Ar/^39Ar dating of oriented amphiboles parallel to the movement direction of the hanging wall on a decollement plane yields a plateau age of 213.1±0.3 Ma and isochron age of 213.4±4.1Ma,probably representing the age of the later event.The dating of pegmatitic biotites and K-feldspars near the decollement plane from the eastem Fangshan area yield plateau ages of 203.4±0.3Ma,203.6±0.4Ma and 204.8±2.2Ma,and ischron ages of 204.0±2.0Ma,200.6±3.1Ma and 204.0±5.0Ma,respectively,implying that the rocks in the studied area had not been cooled down to closing temperature of the dated biotites and K-feldspars until the beginning of the Jurassic (about204Ma).The integration of these data with previous chronological ages on the ultrahigh-pressure metamorphism lead to a new inference on the exhumation of the UHPM rocks.The UHPM rocks in the area were exhumed at the rate of 3-4km/Ma from the mantle(about80-100km below the earth'ssurface at about 240Ma)to the lower crust(at the depth of about20-30km at 220Ma).and at the rate of 1-2km/Ma to the middle crust(at the depth of about 15km at 213Ma0.and then at the rate of less than l km/Ma to the upper crust about 10 km deep at about 204Ma. | LI Jinyi, YANG Tiannan, CHEN Wen and ZHANG Sihong Institute of Geology, Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, Beijing 100037E-mail: jyli@cags.net.cn | 2003 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2003,77,2: | 17 |
| 4 | Hypoplastic constitutive modelling of the wetting induced creep of rockfill materials显示文摘Discrete element simulations of one-dimensional compression of breakable granular assemblies were performed to investigate the capability of the exponential compression equation suggested by Bauer.The relationship between the so-called solid hardness and the particle strength was studied so as to provide a physical background for the introduction of a time-dependent solid hardness.A hyperbolic flow rule,describing the relationship between the inclination of the strain path and the stress ratio during wetting,was proposed based on typical triaxial wetting experiments on two different rockfill materials.The flow rule was then extended and incorporated into the transformed stress based hypoplastic model to capture the direction of creep strains.Meanwhile,a new density factor was introduced to the extended model to take into account the dependence of the magnitude of creep strains on the packing density.The stiffness tensor given by the extended model was discussed and the flowchart for the integration of the constitutive equation was designed.The extended model was then embedded into a finite element program and used to simulate the triaxial compression and wetting experiments performed on the aforementioned rockfill materials.Good agreement between the model predictions and the measured results lends sufficient credibility to the extended model in reproducing the stress-stain behaviour under loading and the creep behaviour during wetting.The extended model and the finite element program were also used to investigate the deformation behaviour of an earth-rock dam at the end of construction and during first impounding.The familiar phenomena such as the wetting induced settlement of the upstream shell and the movement of the dam crest towards the upstream were successfully captured by the numerical model,which confirms the feasibility of applying the extended model to dam engineering in the future. | FU ZhongZhi CHEN ShengShui LIU SiHong | 2012 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2012,55,7: | 6 |

| 6 | The First Global Carbon Dioxide Flux Map Derived from TanSat Measurements显示文摘Space-borne measurements of atmospheric greenhouse gas concentrations provide global observation constraints for top-down estimates of surface carbon flux.Here,the first estimates of the global distribution of carbon surface fluxes inferred from dry-air CO_2 column (XCO_2) measurements by the Chinese Global Carbon Dioxide Monitoring Scientific Experimental Satellite (Tan Sat) are presented.An ensemble transform Kalman filter (ETKF) data assimilation system coupled with the GEOS-Chem global chemistry transport model is used to optimally fit model simulations with the Tan Sat XCO_2 observations,which were retrieved using the Institute of Atmospheric Physics Carbon dioxide retrieval Algorithm for Satellite remote sensing (IAPCAS).High posterior error reduction (30%–50%) compared with a priori fluxes indicates that assimilating satellite XCO_2 measurements provides highly effective constraints on global carbon flux estimation.Their impacts are also highlighted by significant spatiotemporal shifts in flux patterns over regions critical to the global carbon budget,such as tropical South America and China.An integrated global land carbon net flux of 6.71±0.76 Gt C yr^(-1) over12 months (May 2017–April 2018) is estimated from the Tan Sat XCO_2 data,which is generally consistent with other inversions based on satellite data,such as the JAXA GOSAT and NASA OCO-2 XCO_2 retrievals.However,discrepancies were found in some regional flux estimates,particularly over the Southern Hemisphere,where there may still be uncorrected bias between satellite measurements due to the lack of independent reference observations.The results of this study provide the groundwork for further studies using current or future Tan Sat XCO_2 data together with other surfacebased and space-borne measurements to quantify biosphere–atmosphere carbon exchange. | Dongxu YANG Yi LIU Liang FENG Jing WANG Lu YAO Zhaonan CAI Sihong ZHU Naimeng LU Daren LYU | 2021 | Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2021,38,9: | 5 |

| 8 | Mantle Branch Structure in the South-Central Segment of the Da Hinggan Mts.,Inner Mongolia and Its Ore-controlling Role显示文摘Mantle branch structure is the third tectonic unit of multiple evolution of a mantle branch. It is not only the main mechanism of intercontinental orogeny, but also an important ore-forming and ore-control structure. Studies on geotectonic evolution, regional geological characteristics and ore-forming and ore-control structures have shown that since the Mesozoic the Da Hinggan Mts. region has entered a typical intercontinental orogenic stage, and it is closely related to mantle branch activities. The south-central segment of the Da Hinggan Mts. is a typical mantle branch structure and possesses obvious magmatic-metamorphic complexes in the core, detachment slip beds in the periphery and overlapped fault depression basins. Moreover, all of these are the principal factors leading to ore formation and ore control in the region. | 16 | Cracking in an expansive soil under freeze–thaw cycles显示文摘Expansive soils located in cold regions can easily endure the action of frost heaving and cyclic freezing–thawing. Cracking can also occur in expansive clayey soils under freeze–thaw cycles, of which little attention has been paid on this issue.In this study, laboratory experiment and cracking analysis were performed on an expansive soil. Crack patterns were quantitatively analyzed using the fractal concept. The relationships among crack pattern, water loss, number of freeze–thaw cycles, and fractal dimension were discussed. It was found that crack patterns on the surface exhibit a hierarchical network structure that is fractal at a statistical level. | 20 | Flexible ultra-wideband rectangle monopole antenna with O-slot insertion design显示文摘Slot insertion design has proven to be an effective method to increase the bandwidth in the design of microstrip antenna. In this paper, the slot insertion design is applied to the flexible ultra-wideband(UWB)antenna. A flexible rectangular UWB monopole antenna is proposed and fabricated with O-slot design using the transfer printing method. By simulating the influence of O-slot design parameters on electromagnetic performance of the antenna, an optimized antenna design is obtained to keep the reflection coefficient under-10 d B with the frequencies ranging from 3.5 to 17.8 GHz when the antenna is bent with curvature radius as small as 11 mm. The effect of bending on the reflection coefficient is analyzed.
