| 1 | 过渡金属阳离子预处理对活性炭催化性能的提高显示文摘首先将商用活性炭样品在1%的稀硝酸中处理,然后等体积浸渍在含有5%和10%(质量分数)硝酸钴、硝酸镍或硝酸铜的水溶液中,并在100 ℃干燥至恒重,最后将样品在Ar气氛中于400 ℃焙烧 3 h. 采用X射线衍射、N2吸附和红外光谱等分析手段对不同固体样品进行了表征,并考察了其对异丙醇催化转化和25~45 ℃时过氧化氢催化分解的活性. 结果表明,掺杂5%或10%的过渡金属氧化物后,活性炭样品中含有结晶度很差的CoO, Co3O4, NiO, Cu2O和CuO相的纳米晶. 金属氧化物预处理使活性炭的BET比表面积略有增加. 这些固体样品主要用作脱氢催化剂,其选择性均高于90%. 在225 ℃时,经5%氧化钴、氧化镍和氧化铜处理的活性炭的催化活性比硝酸处理的活性炭分别提高了6%, 24.6%和40.6%. 少量CoO处理后的商用活性炭对H2O2催化分解活性的提高是由参与该催化反应的活性位浓度的显著增加而引起的,该处理过程并没有改变H2O2催化分解的机理. | Sahar A. | 2 | Molecular study on Y chromosome microdeletions in Egyptian males with idiopathic infertility显示文摘Aim:To determine the frequency of genetic deletions within the azoospermia factors in Egyptian infertile males.Methods:The Yq microdeletions in 33 infertile males with undetectable chromosomal anomalies were examined by mutiplex polymerase chain reaction (PCR).Deletions were confirmed using single PCR amplifications.Results:Four out of the total 33 (12%) men had Yqll microdeletions,thus supporting the average reported figures in other populations.Three of those 4 cases had single short tandem sequence deletions with discrete histological findings of their testes.Single sY272 deletion within AZFc was associated with Sertoli cell only syndrome,whereas a patient with isolated sY84 deletion within AZFa had immature testicular structure.The remaining case had a large deletion in AZFa-c and short stature.Conclusion:The present study supports the hypothesis that the Yq11 encompasses genetic determinants of stature besides genes controlling spermatogenesis.(Asian J Androl 2004 Mar;6:53-57) | Mostafa K. | 19 | Primmorph extracts and mesohyls of marine sponges inhibit proliferation and migration of hepatocellular carcinoma cells in vitro显示文摘Cancer recurrence and severe side effects of currently being used chemotherapeutic agents reduce their clinical efficacy. Thus, there is a constant need to develop alternative anticancer drugs. Sustainable supply is an important challenge facing marine-based drug discovery. Primmorph, a 3D cell culture system, could provide a sustainable source to produce metabolites for anticancer drugs from marine sponges. In the present work, the anticancer activity of primmorph extracts and mesohyls of Negombata magnifica, Hemimycle arabica, Crella spinulata, and Stylissa carteri sponges was evaluated. Antiproliferative activity was studied in terms of cytotoxicity, colony formation, cell cycle, and apoptosis. Migration was assessed by migration assay and matrix metalloproteinase activity. The expression of proliferation and migration-related genes was analyzed using real time PCR. Migration and proliferation activities of HepG2 cells were inhibited by treatment with primmorph extracts and mesohyls of N. magnifica, H. arabica, and C. spinulata. The mesohyl of S. carteri did not show any anticancer activity although the primmorph extract led to cell cycle arrest. Among the selected sponge species, the primmorph extract of C. spinulata was the most promising anticancer agent regarding antiproliferative and antimigratory activities. | 20 | VeriFace:Defending against Adversarial Attacks in Face Verification Systems显示文摘Face verification systems are critical in a wide range of applications,such as security systems and biometric authentication.However,these systems are vulnerable to adversarial attacks,which can significantly compromise their accuracy and reliability.Adversarial attacks are designed to deceive the face verification system by adding subtle perturbations to the input images.These perturbations can be imperceptible to the human eye but can cause the systemtomisclassifyor fail torecognize thepersoninthe image.Toaddress this issue,weproposeanovel system called VeriFace that comprises two defense mechanisms,adversarial detection,and adversarial removal.The first mechanism,adversarial detection,is designed to identify whether an input image has been subjected to adversarial perturbations.The second mechanism,adversarial removal,is designed to remove these perturbations from the input image to ensure the face verification system can accurately recognize the person in the image.To evaluate the effectiveness of the VeriFace system,we conducted experiments on different types of adversarial attacks using the Labelled Faces in the Wild(LFW)dataset.Our results show that the VeriFace adversarial detector can accurately identify adversarial imageswith a high detection accuracy of 100%.Additionally,our proposedVeriFace adversarial removalmethod has a significantly lower attack success rate of 6.5%compared to state-of-the-art removalmethods. | Awny Sayed Sohair Kinlany Alaa Zaki Ahmed Mahfouz | 2023 | Computers, Materials & Continua2023,76,9: | 0 |
