1Prediction of Primary Climate Variability Modes at the Beijing Climate Center显示文摘Climate variability modes, usually known as primary climate phenomena, are well recognized as the most important predictability sources in subseasonal–interannual climate prediction. This paper begins by reviewing the research and development carried out, and the recent progress made, at the Beijing Climate Center(BCC) in predicting some primary climate variability modes. These include the El Ni?o–Southern Oscillation(ENSO), Madden–Julian Oscillation(MJO), and Arctic Oscillation(AO), on global scales, as well as the sea surface temperature(SST) modes in the Indian Ocean and North Atlantic, western Pacific subtropical high(WPSH), and the East Asian winter and summer monsoons(EAWM and EASM, respectively), on regional scales. Based on its latest climate and statistical models, the BCC has established a climate phenomenon prediction system(CPPS) and completed a hindcast experiment for the period 1991–2014. The performance of the CPPS in predicting such climate variability modes is systematically evaluated. The results show that skillful predictions have been made for ENSO, MJO, the Indian Ocean basin mode, the WPSH, and partly for the EASM, whereas less skillful predictions were made for the Indian Ocean Dipole(IOD) and North Atlantic SST Tripole, and no clear skill at all for the AO, subtropical IOD, and EAWM. 2Ore-forming event and geodynamic setting of molybdenum deposit at Wenquan in Gansu Province,Western Qinling显示文摘The Wenquan molybdenum deposit is associated with a Triassic granite in this area.The Wenquan granite is enriched in LILE and LREE,poor in HFSE,and has significantly higher contents of alkali(K2O+Na2O) and Sr,Ba than those of the island arc volcanic rocks.These geochemical characteristics are similar to post-collisional granites in high K calc-alkaline series.Studies of major elements,trace elements,REEs and chronology of the Wenquan pluton show that,in the geodynamic transition stage of continent-continent convergence to extension,the partial melting of the enriched lithospheric mantle generated the basaltic magma and triggered the partial melting of the thickened lower crust which produceded the acidic magma,and the Wenquan pluton was formed by mixing of the two magmas.Molybdenite Re-Os isotopic dating gave Os model ages of 212.7±2.6 Ma to 215.1±2.6 Ma with a weighted mean of 214.1±1.1 Ma,and an Re-Os isochron age of 214.4±7.1 Ma.These ages are close to K-Ar ages(223 to 226 Ma) and a SHRIMP zircon U-Pb age(223±7 Ma) for the Wenquan granite within the error range,but relatively younger.This implies that the Mo mineralization occurred in a late stage of the magmatic intrusion,and the metallogenesis took place in the transition stage from syn-collision to post-collision in the tectonic setting of the Qinling Orogenic Belt(QOB) after continental collision be-tween the North China Block(NCB) and the South China Block(SCB).This process is also corre-sponding to the geological events of metamorphism and deformation in South Qinling,closure of the Mian-Lue oceanic basin,and exhumation of the Dabie-Sulu ultrahigh-pressure metamorphic rocks.The large-scale continent-continent collision between NCB and SCB in the middle Triassic triggered sig-nificant crustal thickening and exhumation of subducted slab.In the late Triassic,the tectonic setting was transformed to the transition stage from collision to extension.Materials from the asthenospheric mantle would ascend into the root of the lower crust,which could induce partial melting of the lower crust and generate Mo-enriched granitic magma.The ore-forming elements enriched in the fluid derived from the condensation and fraction of the magma resulted in the Mo mineralization.The Mo deposits in the QOB are mainly formed in two episodes,namely 220± Ma and 140± Ma.The two episodes of metal-logenesis were developed in the tectonic transition settings from compression to extension,but they were in the different stages of the tectonic evolution.The occurrence of the Wenquan Mo-bearing plu-ton indicates that the Triassic tectonic-magmatic belt of Western Qinling is another favorable region for Mo mineralization in the QOB.Therefore,it is significant to pay more attention to evaluation of the ore-forming potentiality in the Triassic granites in Western Qinling.ZHU LaiMin DING ZhenJu YAO ShuZhen ZHANG GuoWei SONG ShiGang QU WenJun GUO Bo LEE Ben 2009Chinese Science Bulletin2009,54,13:12

8Berberine alleviates visceral hypersensitivity in rats by altering gut microbiome and suppressing spinal microglial activation显示文摘Accumulating evidence shows that agents targeting gut dysbiosis are effective for improving symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome(IBS).However,the potential mechanisms remain unclear.In this study we investigated the effects of berberine on the microbiota-gut-brain axis in two rat models of visceral hypersensitivity,i.e.,specific pathogen-free SD rats subjected to chronic water avoidance stress(WAS)and treated with berberine(200 mg·kg^(−1)·d^(−1),ig,for 10 days)as well as germ-free(GF)rats subjected to fecal microbiota transplantation(FMT)from a patient with IBS(designated IBS-FMT)and treated with berberine(200 mg·kg^(−1)·d^(−1),ig,for 2 weeks).Before the rats were sacrificed,visceral sensation and depressive behaviors were evaluated.Then colonic tryptase was measured and microglial activation in the dorsal lumbar spinal cord was assessed.The fecal microbiota was profiled using 16S rRNA sequencing,and short chain fatty acids(SCFAs)were measured.We showed that berberine treatment significantly alleviated chronic WAS-induced visceral hypersensitivity and activation of colonic mast cells and microglia in the dorsal lumbar spinal cord.Transfer of fecal samples from berberine-treated stressed donors to GF rats protected against acute WAS.FMT from a patient with IBS induced visceral hypersensitivity and pro-inflammatory phenotype in microglia,while berberine treatment reversed the microglial activation and altered microbial composition and function and SCFA profiles in stools of IBS-FMT rats.We demonstrated that berberine did not directly influence LPS-induced microglial activation in vitro.In both models,several SCFA-producing genera were enriched by berberine treatment,and positively correlated to the morphological parameters of microglia.In conclusion,activation of microglia in the dorsal lumbar spinal cord was involved in the pathogenesis of IBS caused by dysregulation of the microbiota–gut–brain axis,and the berberine-altered gut microbiome mediated the modulatory effects of the agent on microglial activation and visceral hypersensitivity,providing a potential option for the treatment of IBS.Jin-dong Zhang Jiao Liu Shi-wei Zhu Yuan Fang Ben Wang Qiong Jia Hui-feng Hao John YKao Qi-hua He Li-jin Song Fei Liu Bao-li Zhu Chung Owyang Li-ping Duan 2021Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2021,42,11:2

11Green Monomer of CO_(2) and Alkyne-based Four-component Tandem Polymerization toward Regio-and Stereoregular Poly(aminoacrylate)s显示文摘Green monomers, such as carbon dioxide(CO_(2)), are closely related to our daily life and highly desirable to be transferred to functional polymers with diverse structures and versatile properties because they are abundant, cheap, nontoxic, renewable, and sustainable. However, the polymerizations based on these green monomers are to be further developed. In this work, a facile CO_(2) and alkyne-based one-pot, two-step, fourcomponent tandem polymerization was successfully established. The polymerization of CO_(2), diynes, alkyl dihalides, and primary/secondary amines can proceed under mild reaction conditions and regio-and stereoregular poly(aminoacrylate)s with good solubility and thermal stability were obtained in high yields(up to 95%). Notably, distinctly different stereoregularity of resultant poly(aminoacrylate)s was realized via using primary or secondary amines. Using the former would readily generate polymers with 100% Z-isomers, whereas the latter furnished products with over 95% E-isomers. Through different monomer combination, the polymers with tunable structures and properties were obtained.Moreover, the tetraphenylethene units containing poly(aminoacrylate)s, showing the unique aggregation-induced emission characteristics,could function as a fluorescent probe for sensitive explosive detection. 19Forest characteristics and population structure of Glyptostrobus pensilis, a globally endangered relict species of southeastern China显示文摘The Chinese water pine Glyptostrobus pensilis is the sole surviving species of the genus Glyptostrobus. It is endemic to southern China, central Vietnam, and eastern Laos, and today it is nearly extinct in the wild. Forest community characteristics and population structure of G. pensilis in China have remained un-known up to now. We investigated six swamp forest stands and analyzed their forest community characteristics (i.e. vertical stratification, species composition, and diversity) and population structure, including the frequency distribution of DBH (diameter at breast height) and age-classes as found in Fujian Province, southeastern China. The vertical stratifications of all the forest stands were rather simple. The remaining wild specimens ranged from roughly 15 to some 357 years for an average of ca. 85 years, with only a few individuals less than 20 years old. Compared with the stands and populations of G. pensilis in Vietnam, the taxonomic compositions of the stands in the two regions were different, except for the dominant species-G. pensilis. The Shannon-Wiener index showed the overstory of each stand had much lower diversity (0.26 on average) in Fujian Province than that (1.97 on average) in Vietnam, whereas the diversity indices were about the same (around 2.41) for the understories in the two regions. Furthermore, we discovered 18 G. pensilis seedlings at the study sites in Fujian Province. This discovery demonstrates that G. pensilis regeneration is extremely poor and its populations are declining, although these populations are rela-tively healthier than those in Vietnam.Cindy Q.
