1Non-coding RNAs as Emerging Regulators of Neural Injury Responses and Regeneration显示文摘Non-coding RNAs(ncRNAs) are a large cluster of RNAs that do not encode proteins,but have multiple functions in diverse cellular processes.Mounting evidence indicates the involvement of nc RNAs in the physiology and pathophysiology of the central and peripheral nervous systems.It has been shown that numerous ncRNAs,especially micro RNAs and long non-coding RNAs,are differentially expressed after insults such as acquired brain injury,spinal cord injury,and peripheral nerve injury.These ncRNAs affect neuronal survival,neurite regrowth,and glial phenotype primarily by targeting specific mRNAs,resulting in translation repression or degradation of the mRNAs.An increasing number of studies have investigated the regulatory roles of micro RNAs and long non-coding RNAs in neural injury and regeneration,and thus a new research field is emerging.In this review,we highlight current progress in the field in an attempt to provide further insight into post-transcriptional changes occurring after neural injury,and to facilitate the potential use of ncRNAs for improving neural regeneration.We also suggest potential directions for future studies.Songlin Zhou Fei Ding Xiaosong Gu 2016Neuroscience Bulletin2016,32,3:12
2Anlotinib has good efficacy and low toxicity: a phase Ⅱ study of anlotinib in pre-treated HER-2 negative metastatic breast cancer显示文摘Objective:Anlotinib is a novel tyrosine kinase inhibitor blocking angiogenesis.This study was performed to assess the efficacy and safety of anlotinib in patients with metastatic breast cancer.Methods:Patients with HER2-negative breast cancer,who were pre-treated with anthracycline or taxanes in a neoadjuvant,adjuvant,or metastatic setting,and had treatment failure after at least one prior chemotherapy regimen in the metastatic setting were enrolled.Anlotinib was administered at 12 mg daily for 14 days in a 21-day cycle until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity occurred.Simultaneously,5–10 m L of venous blood was collected to perform circulating tumor DNA(ct DNA)testing every 2 treatment cycles.The primary endpoint was the objective response rate(ORR).Secondary endpoints included the disease control rate(DCR),progression-free survival(PFS),overall survival,safety,and biomarkers.Results:Twenty-six eligible patients were enrolled,with a median age of 56(30–75)years.The median follow-up time was 10.5 months.The ORR was 15.4%,the DCR was 80.8%,and the median PFS was 5.22 months(95%confidence interval 2.86–6.24).Fourteen(53.8%)patients survived for more than 10 months.The changes in the detectable ct DNA variant allele frequency were consistent with the tumor response.The most common treatment-related adverse events were hypertension(57.7%),thyroidstimulating hormone elevation(34.6%),and hand-foot syndrome(23.1%).Conclusion:Anlotinib showed objective efficacy with tolerable toxicity in heavily pre-treated,metastatic HER2-negative breast cancer.The dynamic changes in the ct DNA variant allele fraction may be predictive of the tumor response.Nanlin Hu Yiran Si Jian Yue Tingting Sun Xue Wang Zhuqing Jia Songlin Gao Qiao Li Yang Shao Jiayu Wang Yang Luo Fei Ma Binghe Xu Peng Yuan 2021Cancer Biology & Medicine2021,18,3:11

4Facile fabrication of MoP nanodots embedded in porous carbon as excellent anode material for potassium-ion batteries显示文摘Molybdenum phosphide(MoP),owing to its abundant reserve and high theoretical capacity,is regarded as a promising anode material for potassium-ion batteries.However,it still suffers from the problems of acute volume expansion and weak diffusion kinetics.This study reports a simple method to synthesize a composite of molybdenum phosphide and porous carbon(MoP@PC)through simple mixing and annealing treatment.In the MoP@PC,lots of MoP nanodots with an average diameter of about 4 nm uniformly embedded in the petal-like porous carbon.The MoP@PC shows reversible capacities of 330 mAh g^(-1) at100 mA g^(-1) after 100 cycles,and ultra-long cycling stability with a capacity of 240 mAh g^(-1) after 1000 cycles at 1 A g^(-1) and 161 mAh g^(-1) after 1000 cycles at 5 A g^(-1).The structure of MoP@PC after charging-discharging cycles is also investigated by high resolution transmission electron microscope(HRTEM)and the result shows that MoP can still maintain the nanodot morphology without any agglomeration after 1000 cycles at 5 A g^(-1).The storage mechanism of potassium ions was studied as well,which reveals that MoP and potassium ion have a conversion reaction.Zhanheng Yan Zhongyuan Huang Haihui Zhou Xinxin Yang Songlin Li Wenlong Zhang Fei Wang Yafei Kuang 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,3:5
5Metrics for macroscale invasion and dispersal patterns显示文摘Aim The ability to quantitatively measure the continuum of macroscale patterns of species invasion is a first step toward deeper understand-ing of their causal factors.We took advantage of two centuries worth of herbarium data,to evaluate a set of metrics to measure macroscale patterns,allowing cross-species comparisons of inva-sive expansion across large geographic areas.Methods We used herbarium specimens to reconstruct county-level invasion histories for two non-native plants(Alliaria petiolata and Lonicera japonica),with distinct spatiotemporal distribution patterns over the past two centuries.Using county centroids from species’ini-tial occurrences,we quantified point pattern metrics from multiple disciplines(e.g.urban crime analysis,landscape ecology etc.)that are historically used at smaller spatial scales,to evaluate their abil-ity to detect macroscale spatial diffusion and amount of directional expansion.Metrics were further assessed for their ease of use,data requirements,independence from other metrics and intuitiveness of interpretation.Important Findings We identified four suitable metrics for distinguishing differences in spatial patterns:(i)standard distance,(ii)number of patches,(iii)Euclidean nearest neighbor summary class statistic coefficient of variation and(iv)mean center that when applied to county-level presence data allowed us to determine the directions by which distributions expanded and if distributions increased via outward expansion,infilling and/or jump dispersal events.These metrics when compared during the same invasion phase are capable of quantifying macroscale variability among species in their distri-butional and dispersal patterns.Being able to quantify differences among species in these patterns is important in understanding the drivers of species dispersal patterns.These metrics therefore repre-sent a simple yet thorough toolset for achieving this goal.Teresa L.Clark Basil V.IannoneⅢ Songlin Fei 2018Journal of Plant Ecology2018,11,1:2

7Arbitrary terahertz chirality construction and flexible manipulation enabled by anisotropic liquid crystal coupled chiral metasurfaces显示文摘Chiral metasurfaces integrated with active materials can dynamically control the chirality of electromagnetic waves,making them highly significant in physics,chemistry,and biology.Herein,we theoretically proposed a general and feasible design scheme to develop a chiral metadevice based on a bilayer anisotropic metasurface and a monolayer liquid crystal(LC),which can construct and flexibly manipulate arbitrary terahertz(THz)chirality.When the twist angle between the anisotropic axes of two metasurfacesθis not 0°,the spatial mirror symmetry of the chiral metadevice is broken,resulting in a strong THz chiral response.In addition,the introduction of anisotropic LCs not only enhances the chiral response of the metadevice but also induces the flipping modulation and frequency tunability of the chirality.More importantly,by optimizing theθ,we can flexibly design the arbitrary chiral response and the operating frequency of chirality,thereby promoting the emergence of various chiral manipulation devices.The experimental results show that the maximum circular dichroism can reach-33 d B at 0.94 THz and flip to 28 d B at 0.69 THz by rotating the LC optical axis from the x to y axis,with the maximum operating frequency tunable range of~120 GHz.We expect this design strategy can create new possibilities for the advancement of active THz chiral devices and their applications,including chiral spectroscopy,molecular recognition,biosensing,and fingerprint detection.XINHAO JIANG YUNYUN JI FEI FAN SONGLIN JIANG ZHIYU TAN HUIJUN ZHAO JIERONG CHENG SHENGJIANG CHANG 2023Photonics Research2023,11,11:0
8Exotic Behavior of Elastic Scattering Differential Cross Sections of Weakly Bound Nucleus ^(17)F at Small Angels显示文摘The experiment of measuring the differential cross sections dσ/dθat forward angles for the elastically scattered 17F (141 MeV) and 17O (128 MeV) on the 208Pb target has been carried out at the Radioactive Ion Beam Line in Lanzhou (RIBLL). Fig. 1 shows the plots of In(dσ/dθ) versusθ2 for 17F (right panel) and 17O (left panel). The dependence of the ln(dσ/dθ) onθ2 shows quite different behaviors for the two nuclei. 9外来木本植物在我国天然林中的入侵显示文摘外来植物入侵已经成为一个主要的全球性环境问题,造成了严重的经济和生态破坏。中国区域内部分地区已有关于严重入侵情况的报道,但是大多是小尺度上的研究,全国范围天然林中的外来植物入侵情况仍不清楚。本文基于全国天然林的3573个样方数据,绘制了外来木本植物入侵在我国各地天然林中的空间分布格局,探究了可能的环境和社会经济控制因素。研究结果显示,只有271个样方被外来木本植物入侵,占样方总数的7.58%;在所有调查的2825种木本植物中,只有5个外来物种(占比0.177%)。人类活动和气候因素都对入侵格局产生影响。由于我国天然林多位于偏远山区,人为干扰较轻,外来木本植物入侵的报道少于北美森林和欧洲林地。然而,随着交通运输的发展和山区经济活动的增加,在不久的将来可能会有更多。因此,需要积极的管理和政策制定来防止或减缓入侵进程,降低人类活动的干扰,监测外来物种的入侵情况并及时做出应对。Yupin Wang Songlin Fei Zhiyao Tang Yuanfeng Sun Guoping Chen Xiangping Wang Shaopeng Wang Jingyun Fang 2021Journal of Plant Ecology2021,14,5:0
10Mapping global forest biomass and its changes over the first decade of the 21st century显示文摘Forests played an important role in carbon sequestration during the past two decades. Using a model tree ensemble method(MTE) to regress the seven reflectance bands of EOS-Terra-MODIS satellite data against country level forest biomass carbon density(BCD) of 2001–2005 provided by United Nations' s Forest Resource Assessment(FRA), we developed a global map of forest BCD at 1 km×1 km resolution for both 2001–2005 and 2006–2010. For 2006–2010, the total global forest biomass carbon stock is estimated as 279.6±7.1 Pg C, and the tropical forest biomass carbon stock is estimated as 174.4±5.4 Pg C. During the first decade of the 21 st century, we estimated an increase of global forest biomass of 0.28±0.75 Pg C yr^(-1). Tropical forest biomass carbon stock slightly decreased(-0.31±0.60 Pg C yr^(-1)); by contrast, temperate and boreal forest biomass increased(0.58±0.28 Pg C yr^(-1)) during the same period. Our estimation of the global forest biomass carbon stock and its changes is subject to uncertainties due to lack of extensive ground measurements in the tropics, spatial heterogeneity in large countries, and different definitions of forest. 11Machine learning-based spectral and spatial analysis of hyper-and multi-spectral leaf images for Dutch elm disease detection and resistance screening显示文摘Diseases caused by invasive pathogens are an increasing threat to forest health,and early and accurate disease detection is essential for timely and precision forest management.The recent technological advancements in spectral imaging and artificial intelligence have opened up new possibilities for plant disease detection in both crops and trees.In this study,Dutch elm disease(DED;caused by Ophiostoma novo-ulmi,)and American elm(Ulmus americana)was used as example pathosystem to evaluate the accuracy of two in-house developed high-precision portable hyper-and multi-spectral leaf imagers combined with machine learning as new tools for forest disease detection.Hyper-and multi-spectral images were collected from leaves of American elm geno-types with varied disease susceptibilities after mock-inoculation and inoculation with O.novo-ulmi under green-house conditions.Both traditional machine learning and state-of-art deep learning models were built upon derived spectra and directly upon spectral image cubes.Deep learning models that incorporate both spectral and spatial features of high-resolution spectral leaf images have better performance than traditional machine learning models built upon spectral features alone in detecting DED.Edges and symptomatic spots on the leaves were highlighted in the deep learning model as important spatial features to distinguish leaves from inoculated and mock-inoculated trees.In addition,spectral and spatial feature patterns identified in the machine learning-based models were found relative to the DED susceptibility of elm genotypes.Though further studies are needed to assess applications in other pathosystems,hyper-and multi-spectral leaf imagers combined with machine learning show potential as new tools for disease phenotyping in trees.Xing Wei Jinnuo Zhang Anna O.Conrad Charles E.Flower Cornelia C.Pinchot Nancy Hayes-Plazolles Ziling Chen Zhihang Song Songlin Fei Jian Jin 2023Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture2023,,4:0
