| 1 | Electron-positron pair production in ultrastrong laser fields显示文摘Electronepositron pair production due to the decay of vacuum in ultrastrong laser fields is an interesting topic which is revived recently because of the rapid development of current laser technology.The theoretical and numerical research progress of this challenging topic is reviewed.Many new findings are presented by different approaches such as the worldline instantons,the S-matrix theory,the kinetic method by solving the quantum Vlasov equation or/and the real-time DiraceHeisenbergeWigner formalism,the computational quantum field theory by solving the Dirac equation and so on.In particular,the effects of electric field polarizations on pair production are unveiled with different patterns of created momentum spectra.The effects of polarizations on the number density of created particles and the nonperturbative signatures of multiphoton process are also presented.The competitive interplay between the multiphoton process and nonperturbation process plays a key role in these new findings.These newly discovered phenomena are valuable to deepen the understanding of pair production in complex fields and even have an implication to the study of strong-field ionization.More recent studies on the pair production in complex fields as well as beyond laser fields are briefly presented in the view point of perspective future. | Bai Song Xie Zi Liang Li Suo Tang | 2017 | Matter and Radiation at Extremes2017,2,5: | 4 |
| 2 | Adhesive anastomosis for organ transplantation显示文摘The recent development of tough tissue adhesives has stimulated intense interests among material scientists and medical doctors.However,these adhesives have seldom been tested in clinically demanding surgeries.Here we demonstrate adhesive anastomosis in organ transplantation.Anastomosis is commonly conducted by dense sutures and takes a long time,during which all the vessels are occluded.Prolonged occlusion may damage organs and even cause death.We formulate a tough,biocompatible,bioabsorbable adhesive that can sustain tissue tension and pressurized flow.We expose the endothelial surface of vessels onto a gasket,press two endothelial surfaces to the adhesive using a pair of magnetic rings,and reopen the bloodstream immediately.The time for adhesive anastomosis is shortened compared to the time for sutured anastomosis.We have achieved adhesive anastomosis of a great vein in transplanting the liver of a pig.After the surgery,the adhesive is absorbed,the vein heals,and the pig lives for over one month. | Kang Liu Hang Yang Gaobo Huang Aihua Shi Qiang Lu Shanpei Wang Wei Qiao Haohua Wang Mengyun Ke Hongfan Ding Tao Li Yanchao Zhang Jiawei Yu Bingyi Ren Rongfeng Wang Kailing Wang Hui Feng Zhigang Suo Jingda Tang Yi Lv | 2022 | Bioactive Materials2022,7,7: | 3 |
| 3 | High-velocity impact responses of 2618 aluminum plates for engine containment systems under combined actions of projectile form and oblique angle显示文摘Ballistic impact tests were carried out with examined projectiles of the Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy to investigate the impact response of the 2618 aluminum plates at a nominal velocity of 210 m/s. The influence of projectile forms and oblique angles on damage formation was particularly discussed by applying different loading conditions such as multiple projectile forms and oblique angles. Additionally, the numerical simulation method was employed to provide further insight into the characteristics of damage and target responses. The Johnson-Cook(J-C)constitutive model with revised failure parameters was used to support the simulations to assess target responses and characteristics of the damage created from different impact conditions. Results show that there is a significant transition in the deformation mode as changes of the projectile form are applied. Moreover, the cracks on the back of the 2618 aluminum alloy plates impacted by the solid plate projectile and the hollow blade projectile tend to locate at different positions, which are supposed to be influenced by local bending and stretching. | 4 | Temperature Effect on the Mechanical Behavior of Acrylic Polymers under Quasi-static and Dynamic Loading显示文摘In this paper, the mechanical behavior of acrylic polymers at elevated temperature was investigated. Four acrylic polymers were tested at high strain rate by using compression Hopkinson bar and at quasi-static strain rate by using an Instron servo hydraulic axial testing machine with the testing temperature from 218K to 393K. The results show that the mechanical property of acrylic polymers depends heavily on the testing temperature. The yield stress and Young's modulus were found to decrease with increasing temperature at low strain rate. At very low temperature, the materials display typical brittle fracture; however their plasticity improves remarkably at high temperatures. | 6 | TEMPERATURE SENSITIVITY AND PREDICTION OF THE MECHANICAL BEHAVIORS OF ULTRAFINE GRAINED ALUMINUM UNDER UNIAXIAL COMPRESSION显示文摘In the present work, we explore the strain hardening behaviors as well as the effect of temperature on the plastic deformation of ultrafine grained aluminum. The temperature sensitivity is determined and compared with that of coarse grained material. The results indicate that the flow stress of ultrafine grained aluminum displays enhanced sensitivity to temperature. The reduction in activation volume is suggested to be the major reason for the enhanced temperature sensitivity as grain size is refined into the sub-micrometer regime.
