1Effect of different twirling and rotating acupuncture manipulation techniques on the blood flow perfusion at acupoints显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To analyze the effect of different twirling and rotating acupuncture manipulation techniques on the blood flow perfusion at acupoints to provide a reference for the study of acupoint specificity and the quantification and effectiveness of acupuncture methods. METHODS: Twenty healthy male or female college students each received four different acupuncture manipulation techniques, including simple acupuncture, uniform reinforcing-reducing needling, twirling reinforcing needling, and twisting reducing needling. The self-control method was applied. Acupuncture was performed by an acupuncture manipulation simulator at Neiguan (PC 6) and Zusanli (ST 36). The process of twirling and rotating was divided into seven timepoints. The PeriCam Perfusion Speckle Imager (PSI) System was used to collect the blood flow perfusion data at each acupoint. The specificity of twirling and rotating acupuncture manipulation was analyzed based on changes in the curve, video, and numerical blood flow perfusion data at each timepoint. RESULTS: There were two peaks in the blood flow perfusion curve of twirling and rotating acupuncture manipulation;one appeared after 3 min of needle retention, and the other appeared 3 min after needle removal. The blood flow perfusion parameters showed that the greatest differences between the four manipulation techniques occurred after 5 and 10 min of needle retention. The specificity of various manipulation techniques was most obvious at these two timepoints. There were significant differences between the four manipulation groups in the blood flow perfusion and the relative change rates of blood flow perfusion at each timepoint. CONCLUSION: Laser speckle imaging enables the real-time, non-invasive, rapid, and accurate collection of blood flow perfusion data during acupuncture. This imaging technique enables the easy attainment of various parameters such as visual images, two-dimensional curves, and data tables. At various timepoints, the four groups significantly differed regarding changes in blood flow perfusion and relative change rates of blood flow perfusion, which facilitated the differentiation of the four acupuncture manipulation methods. Based on this, further analysis could be conducted to study spatial distribution characteristics such as the influence area and flare area. 2Pretreatment of emulational manual acupuncture versus electroacupuncture against visceral traction pain in rats显示文摘BACKGROUND:Acupuncture and moxibustion against visceral noxious stimulation present different mechanisms in the peripheral and central nervous systems,involving release of neurotransmitter substance P,acetylcholine esterase,leucine-enkephalin,and c-Fos protein expression.However,there are few reports addressing changes in neurotransmitter expression following manual acupuncture and electroacupuncture against visceral traction pain.OBJECTIVE:To explore changes in neurotransmitter expression in the ileum and protein expression in the medullary visceral zone of visceral traction pain rats undergoing pretreatment of emulational manual acupuncture,and to investigate the differences between emulational manual acupuncture and electroacupuncture.DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:The randomized,controlled study was performed at the Biomedical Engineering Laboratory,Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine,Shanghai,China from August 2008 to July 2009.MATERIALS:G6805 electroacupuncture apparatus(Shanghai Medical Electronic Machine Factory,China) and ZSF-I acupuncture manipulation simulation therapeutic system(Chinese Medical Engineering Room,Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine,Shanghai China) were used in the present study.METHODS:A total of 40 male Sprague Dawley rats were equally and randomly assigned to sham surgery,model,emulational manual acupuncture and electroacupuncture groups.In the emulational manual acupuncture and electroacupuncture groups,emulational manual acupuncture and electroacupuncture were applied at bilateral Zusanli(ST 36) acupoints for 30 minutes,and models of visceral traction pain were established immediately.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Substance P expression,c-Fos and glial fibrillary acidic protein expression were measured using immunohistochemistry.Acetylcholine esterase activity was examined utilizing a colorimetric method.Leucine-enkephalin content was detected using a radioimmune assay.Degree of pain in rats was assessed by pain score.RESULTS:Pain score,substance P expression in the ileum,acetylcholine esterase activity,expression of c-Fos protein and glial fibrillary acidic protein in the medullary visceral zone were significantly decreased following pretreatment of emulational manual acupuncture and electroacupuncture in rats with visceral traction pain(P < 0.05).Compared with the electroacupuncture group,the leucine-enkephalin content was significantly increased,and pain score was significantly diminished in the emulational manual acupuncture group(P < 0.05).CONCLUSION:Emulational manual acupuncture pretreatment decreases acetylcholine esterase activity,increases leucine-enkephalin release,downregulates expression of c-Fos protein and glial fibrillary acidic protein and ultimately inhibits visceral traction pain by reducing substance P release.The effectiveness in inhibiting visceral traction pain is greater when using emulational manual acupuncture compared with electroacupuncture.This is because emulational manual acupuncture effectively increases leucine-enkephalin release.Huayuan Yang Tingting Guo Youjiang Min Tangyi Liu Ming Gao 2010Neural Regeneration Research2010,5,10:2
3Acupoint electrogymnastics therapy in stroke hemiplegia显示文摘BACKGROUND: Electrogymnastics can offer a range of proprioceptive, motor, and cutaneous sensation impulses to the central nerve system. The center receives perception of the paralyzed muscle through the aid of these impulses. During this process, functional reorganization of connecting network between segment and intersegment takes place. OBJECTIVE: To observe the therapeutic efficacy of acupoint electrogymnastics and traditional electroacupuncture on stroke hemiplegia. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: A multicenter, randomized, controlled, blinded, clinical study was performed at the College of Acu-moxibustion and Massage in Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from May 2004 to September 2006. PARTICIPANTS: A total of 153 patients suffering from stroke hemiplegia, comprising 83 males and 70 females, aged 63-70 years, were admitted to outpatient and inpatient at LongHua Hospital Affiliated Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese medicine, Putuo District Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital and Changqiao Street Community Health Service Center of Shanghai. METHODS: The patients were randomly divided into treatment (n = 77) and control (n = 76) groups. They were treated with acupoint electrogymnastics and traditional electroacupuncture, respectively. In the treatment group, two pairs of positive and negative JD-2008 type electrodes from a hemiplegia treatment apparatus were directly pasted on the Shousanli (LI 10) and Waiguan (SJ 5) acupoints of the upper limb, as well as the Zusanli (S 36) and Yanglingquan (GB 34) acupoints of the lower limb, respectively. In the control group, needles were consecutively inserted into the above acupoints. Using the method of lifting-inserting and twisting-rotating, the needle was manipulated with small amplitude of 5-7 mm and a fast frequency of 80-120 times/min when the needle was inserted to a suitable depth. When the sensation of needling was attained, the two pairs of positive and negative electrodes of type G6805-II electro-acupuncture apparatus were connected to the Shousanli (LI 10) and Waiguan (SJ 5) acupoints of the upper limb, as well as the Zusanli (S 36) and Yanglingquan(GB 34) acupoints of the lower limb, respectively. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The Fugl-Meyer evaluation method was used to assess upper limb movement, lower limb movement, sensory stimulation of all limbs, balance, and joint range of motion. RESULTS: Upper-lower limb motor function, limb sensory function, balance, and joint range of motion were significantly ameliorated following treatment, compared with pre-treatment (P < 0.01). There was no significant difference in various indexes between the two groups after treatment (P > 0.05). 7Utility and Weight of Factors of Bus Transit's Service Quality Analysis in Nanjing显示文摘Service quality is a major factor that affects how public transport users evaluate bus service. In order to evaluate how bus users make trade-offs across travel cost,time,reliability,etc.,and to investigate the extent to which the components of service quality vary according to relevant trip characteristics,this paper analyzes service quality of bus transit with the conjoint analysis. Through data analysis,the levels 'utility values of reliability,waiting time,walking time,etc.,on the commuter trip and the non-commuter trip are gotten,so it is the utility function of the transit system. Then the factors' weights are obtained through the utility values. The results show that on the commuter trip,passengers value reliability the most,which is followed by waiting time and walking time,while in-bus environment,price and station environment's weights are small. 10Modulating proton binding energy on the tungsten carbide nanowires surfaces for boosting hydrogen evolution in acid显示文摘ungsten carbides have attracted wide attentions as Pt substitute electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), due to their good stability in an acid environment and Pt-like behaviour in hydrolysis. However, quantum chemistry calculations predict that the strong tungsten-hydrogen bonding hinders hydrogen desorption and restricts the overall catalytic activity. Synergistic modulation of host and guest electronic interaction can change the local work function of a compound, and therefore, improve its electrocatalytic activity over either of the elements individually. Herein, we develop a creative and facile solid-state approach to synthesize self-supported carbon-encapsulated single-phase WC hybrid nanowires arrays (nanoarrays) as HER catalyst. The theoretical calculations reveal that carbon encapsulation modifies the Gibbs free energy of H* values for the WC adsorption sites, endowing a more favorable C@WC active site for HER. The experimental results exhibit that the hybrid WC nanoarrays possess remarkable Pt-like catalytic behavior, with superior activity and stability in an acidic media, which can be compared to the best non-noble metal catalysts reported to date for hydrogen evolution reaction. 13Topological representations of crystalline compounds for the machine-learning prediction of materials properties显示文摘Accurate theoretical predictions of desired properties of materials play an important role in materials research and development.Machine learning(ML)can accelerate the materials design by building a model from input data.For complex datasets,such as those of crystalline compounds,a vital issue is how to construct low-dimensional representations for input crystal structures with chemical insights.In this work,we introduce an algebraic topology-based method,called atom-specific persistent homology(ASPH),as a unique representation of crystal structures.The ASPH can capture both pairwise and many-body interactions and reveal the topology-property relationship of a group of atoms at various scales.Combined with composition-based attributes,ASPH-based ML model provides a highly accurate prediction of the formation energy calculated by density functional theory(DFT).After training with more than 30,000 different structure types and compositions,our model achieves a mean absolute error of 61 meV/atom in cross-validation,which outperforms previous work such as Voronoi tessellations and Coulomb matrix method using the same ML algorithm and datasets.Our results indicate that the proposed topology-based method provides a powerful computational tool for predicting materials properties compared to previous works.Yi Jiang Dong Chen Xin Chen Tangyi Li Guo-Wei Wei Feng Pan 2021npj Computational Materials2021,,1:1
