| 1 | Ecological evolution across the Permian/Triassic boundary at the Kangjiaping Section in Cili County, Hunan Province, China显示文摘The stratigraphic sequence of calcimicrobialite facies at the Permian-Triassic (P/Tr) boundary has well recorded the biotic and environmental transition across the end-Permian catastrophic events. The biostratigraphy, microfacies, carbon isotopes, and fossil records across the P/Tr boundary have been studied at the Kangjiaping Section in Cili County, Hunan Province. Three biostratigraphic zones, Palaeofusulina-Colaniella Zone, Hindeodus parvus Zone, and Isarcicella staeschei Zone, are identified. The excursion of δ13Ccarb exhibits a sharp negative shift in the calcimicrobialite at the P/Tr boundary, which is roughly accordant with the abrupt bioclastic decline. In addition, five types of microfacies are recognized, including algal-foraminifer bioclastic limestone, algal-laminated calcimicrobial limestone, oolitic grainstone, vermiculate limestone, and intraclastic wackstone. The results indicate that the changeover of ecosystem from metazoan reef to calcimicrobialite in Cili is a classic case of marine ecological evolution during the Paleozoic-Mesozoic transition. | WANG QinXian TONG JinNan SONG HaiJun YANG Hao | 2009 | Science China Earth Sciences2009,52,6: | 14 |

| 3 | Lipid Biomarkers and Their Stable Carbon Isotopes in Ancient Seep Carbonates from SW Taiwan, China显示文摘Four massive brecciated, chimney-like, and slender pipe network carbonate samples(JA-4, JA-5, JX-8 and BG-12) were collected from southwestern Taiwan, which were suggested to have formed as a result of anaerobic oxidization of methane(AOM). Considering that the environmental conditions of the carbonates precipitation and the sources of carbon and organic matter need to be further declared, molecular fossils and compound-specific carbon isotopic investigations of the carbonates were conducted in this study. According to lipid biomarkers of 2,6,10,15,19-pentamethyleicosane(PMI) and squalane diagnostic to methanotrophic archaea, as well as the extremely low δ^(13)C values(as low as -1^(13).4‰) detected in samples JA-4, JA-5 and JX-8, these carbonates were revealed to be a result of AOM. Based on the varied δ^(13)C values of characteristic archaea biomarkers in specific samples, biogenic methane was proposed to be responsible for the formation of samples JA-4 and JA-5, whereas a mixed carbon source of ^(13)C-depleted methane and ^(13)C-enriched residual CO_2 from methanogenesis was suggested for the carbonate of JX-8 due to the co-occurrence of a highly positive δ^(13) C_(carb) value(+8‰) and a moderate ^(13)C depletion of PMI. The low content of AOM-related biomarkers and the absence of indicators for ANME-2 suggested that these carbonates were formed in weak seep settings. By comparison, no typical lipid biomarkers for methanotrophic archaea was detected in carbonate BG-12. The short-chain and long-chain n-alkanes accounted for 30% and 45% of all hydrocarbons, respectively, with a CPI value of 1.2, suggesting that the n-alkanes were derived from both marine organisms and terrestrial inputs. A low thermal maturity could be revealed by the incomplete equilibrium value of the C^(31)αβ 22S/(22S+22R) ratio(0.5), and the carbonate BG-12 was probably deposited in a suboxic condition indicated by a value of Pr/Ph ratio(2.5). | GUAN Hongxiang XU Lanfang WANG Qinxian CHEN Duofu WU Nengyou MAO Shengyi | 2019 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2019,93,1: | 0 |
| 4 | Some ecological parameters of Artemia parthenogenetica Gahai and their use in resource exploitation显示文摘The effects of temperature on population characteristics of Artemia parthenogenetica Gahai from the Gahai Salt Lake,Qinghai Province,China, were studied in the laboratory at a salinity of 60‰.The major conclusions are as follows:(1)It was found that the adaptive temperature for the development of brine shrimp ranged from 10℃to 39℃.The threshold temperature of development(TD)and the effective accumulative temperature(TA)for hatching were 9.94℃·d and(22.912.08)℃·d,respectively.The TD and TA for the larva were 10.33℃·d and(261.2624.1)℃·d,respectively,and for the whole generation were 10.28℃and(458.6857.60)℃·d,respectively.(2)It showed that the population’s net reproduction rate(R_(o)),the intrinsic rate of natural increase(r_(m)),the mean generation time(T),the finite rate of increase(λ),and the days for population to double(t)of the brine shrimp were determined over temperatures ranging from 19℃to 34℃by analyzing the life table and numerical model. In the temperature range of 14.3℃to 37.3℃for R_(o)>1,the optimum temperature(℃)for R_(o),rm,λ,and t were 25.8℃,29.8℃,30.5℃,and 29.02℃,respectively.The maximum values of R_(o),r_(m) andλwere 54.86 ind.,0.106138/d,and 1.1070/d,respectively.The minimum value of t was 4.73 d.The value of T was in a range of 96.77 to 16.10 d.(3)Based on the 1993-1994 and 1997 data of the water temperature in the Gahai Salt Lake,Qinghai Province,it was estimated that the number of generation of A.parthenogenetica Gahai and the number of the reproductive peak value were 2.670.34 and 4.690.43 in a year, respectively. The peak of nauplii of the first generation was on April 20 to 28.The last whole generation began on August 10.The first reproductive peak was on June 18 to 25.The last reproductive peak was on September 12 to 17.The nauplii that hatched after September 1 cannot complete the development from nauplii to adults because of insufficient habitat effective accumulative temperature.During the period from July 11 to September 20,there was a relatively high productivity of the population. In this case, doubling the population would take less than 30 d,and the intrinsic rate of natural increase was over 0.02/d.Therefore,the value of resource exploitation would be maximal during that period annually. | Qinxian JIA Hongping WANG Fanjing KONG Mianping ZHEN | 2009 | Frontiers in Biology2009,4,3: | 0 |
