1The 5.5 cal ka BP climate event, population growth, circumscription and the emergence of the earliest complex societies in China显示文摘The emergence of complex society is a milestone in the history of human society evolution. China is one of the few regions in the world where the earliest complex society appeared; however, its driving mechanisms remain unresolved. On the base of available evidence from both archaeology and Holocene climate, in combination with agency theory, this study attempts to address the driving mechanisms for the simultaneous emergence of complex societies in multiple areas of China around 5.5 cal ka BP. It is hypothesized that three factors, including climate change, population growth, and circumscription, jointly act and cause regional population-resource imbalance and trigger inter-group conflicts and wars. Such competitions provide the opportunity for some power-pursuing agents to break the restriction of social leveling mechanism and to become the centralized decision-making leaders, which further lead to the emergence of incipient large-scale complex societies. Increase in extreme climate events during 6.0–5.0 cal ka BP cooling period causes frequent occurrence of resource stress and increase in the frequency of inter-group competitions, which creates conditions for the legitimation, institutionalization, and persistence of centralized leadership, and finally leads to the formation of persistent institutionalized inequity. 2Spatial and temporal distribution of Neolithic sites in coastal China:Sea level changes, geomorphic evolution and human adaption显示文摘The East China coastal plain is one of the most important Neolithic culture areas in China, where rich archaeological sites including those producing the earliest domesticated rice are observed. It is also a place where landscape has experienced dramatic evolution during the Holocene when both sea level and climate changed, such that it is an ideal place for studying human-environment interaction. This study investigated over 2000 sites of pre-history and Shang and Zhou Dynasties, with 655 of which being Neolithic ages, by using DEM and GIS methods. The results suggest that the spatial and temporal distribution of Neolithic sites has largely been controlled by landscape evolution(particularly changes in coastal line), which ultimately governed by sea level changes. During early Holocene, Neolithic sites sparsely distributed in the intermountain basins of east Zhejiang Province, far from the influence of ocean. Over the period of 9–7 ka, the coastal plain(including the shelf) was largely submerged,only the feet of low hills to the south and southwest of the study area, and islands protruding the estuary, cradled limited number of settlements with characteristic 'maritime components'. At about 7 ka, sea level rise decelerated prominently, while sediments supply in the drainage remained high value, the combination of which led to land formation and propagation. Vast space during this period facilitated the growth of settlements in both size and number. 3Ascent schedules,acute altitude illness,and altitude acclimatization:Observations on the Yushu Earthquake显示文摘During the Yushu Earthquake on April 14,2010,a large number of rescuers from sea level or lowlands ascended to the quake areas very rapidly or rapidly less than 24 h. However,Yushu Earthquake is the highest quake in the world at altitudes between 3 750 m and 4 878 m where is a serious hypoxic environment. A high incidence of acute altitude illness was found in the unacclimatized rescuers;the mountain rescue operation changed as 'rescue the rescuers'. Lesson from the Yushu Earthquake is that the occurrence of acute altitude illness may be closely related to the ascent schedules. This prompted us to study the relationship between ascent rate and the incidence and severity of acute altitude illness;five different groups were compared. The first group was 42 sea level male young soldiers who ascended to quake area very rapidly within 8 h at 4 000 m;the second group was 48 sea level male young soldiers who ascended to 4 000 m rapidly less than 18 h;the third group was 66 acclimatized medical workers from 2 261 m who ascended to 4 000 m rapidly within 12 h;the fourth group was 56 Tibetan medical workers from 2 800 m who ascended to 4 000 m rapidly within 8 h;the fifth group was 50 male sea level workers who ascended to 4 000 m gradually over a period of 4 d. The results showed that the sea level rescuers ascended to 4 000 m very rapidly or rapidly had the highest incidence of acute mountain sickness (AMS) with the greatest AMS scores and the lowest arterial oxygen saturation (SaO2);the sea level workers ascended to 4 000 m gradually had moderate incidence of AMS with moderate AMS scores and SaO2 values;whereas the acclimatized and adapted rescuers had the lowest incidence of AMS,lowest AMS scores and higher SaO2;especially none AMS occurred in Tibetan rescuers. AMS score is inversely related to the ascent rate (r=-0.24,p< 0.001). Additionally,acute altitude illness is significantly influenced by altitude acclimatization. The ascent rate is inversely re- lated to the period of altitude acclimatization whereas the time of perfect recovered from AMS is positively correlated to the time taken to acclimatize. Generally,the best means of preventing acute altitude illness is slow and gradual ascent to high altitude,as this allows time for establishing altitude acclimatization and tolerance to the hypoxic environment. 4Optimization of mechanical and damping properties of Mg-0.6Zr alloy by different extrusion processing显示文摘In this study,the optimization of mechanical and damping capacities of Mg-0.6 wt.%Zr alloys by controlling the recrystallized(DRXed)grain size under varying extrusion processing parameters including extrusion temperature T and strain rate was investigated.The relationship between the DRXed grain size and damping properties of the studied alloy was also discussed.The DRXed grain size of the as-extruded Mg-Zr alloys decreased as the extrusion temperature T decreased and the strain rateεincreased.As the DRXed grain size decreased,the strength and elongation of the as-extruded alloys exhibited improved performance through the grain refinement mechanism,while the damping properties deteriorated.The extrusion temperature of the Mg-Zr alloy had relatively greater effects on the mechanical and damping properties than the strain rate.The results of the present work indicate that alloys with appropriate mechanical and damping properties may be obtained from controlling the DRXed grain size by careful tailoring of the extrusion process parameters.Jingfeng Wang Zhongshan Wu Shan Gao Ruopeng Lu Dezhao Qin Wenxiang Yang Fusheng Pan 2015Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2015,3,1:4
5Design and synthesis of porous non-noble metal oxides for catalytic removal of VOCs显示文摘The design and synthesis of highly active non-noble metal oxide catalysts, such as transition- and rare-earth-metal oxides, have attracted significant attention because of their high efficiency and low cost and the resultant potential applications for the degradation of volatile organic compounds(VOCs). The structure-activity relationships have been well-studied and used to facilitate design of the structure and composition of highly active catalysts. Recently, non-noble metal oxides with porous structures have been used as catalysts for deep oxidation of VOCs, such as aromatic hydrocarbons, aliphatic compounds, aldehydes, and alcohols, with comparable activities to their noble metal counterparts. 6Determination of structure-activity relationships between fentanyl analogs and human μ-opioid receptors based on active binding site models显示文摘Fentanyl is a potent and widely used clinical narcotic analgesic,as well as a highly selective μ-opioid agonist.The present study established a homologous model of the human μ-opioid receptor;an intercomparison of three types of μ-opioid receptor protein sequence homologous rates was made.The secondary receptor structure was predicted,the model reliability was assessed and verified using the Ramachandran plot and ProTab analysis.The predictive ability of the CoMFA model was further validated using an external test set.Using the Surflex-Dock program,a series of fentanyl analog molecules were docked to the receptor,the calculation results from Biopolymer/SiteID showed that the receptor had a deep binding area situated in the extracellular side of the transmembrane domains(TM) among TM3,TM5,TM6,and TM7.Results suggested that there might be 5 active areas in the receptor.The important residues were Asp147,Tyr148,and Tyr149 in TM3,Trp293,and His297 in TM6,and Trp318,His319,Ile322,and Tyr326 in TM7,which were located at the 5 active areas.The best fentanyl docking orientation position was the piperidine ring,which was nearly perpendicular to the membrane surface in the 7 TM domains.Molecular dynamic simulations were applied to evaluate potential relationships between ligand conformation and fentanyl substitution.Ming Liu Xiaoli Liu Ping Wan Qiangsan Wu Wenxiang Hu 2011Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,4:3
7Characterization and validation of somatic mutation spectrum to reveal heterogeneity in gastric cancer by single cell sequencing显示文摘Gastric cancer(GC) is a highly heterogeneous disease with multiple cellular types and poor prognosis.However, the cellular evolution and molecular basis of GC at the individual intra-tumor level has not been well demonstrated. We performed single-cell whole exome sequencing to detect somatic singlenucleotide variants(SNVs) and significantly mutated genes(SMGs) among 34 tumor cells and 9 normal cells from a patient with GC. The Complete Prediction for Protein Conformation(CPPC) approach directly predicting the folding conformation of the protein 3D structure with Protein Folding Shape Code, combined with functional experiments were used to confirm the characterization of mutated SMGs in GC cells. We identified 201 somatic SNVs, including 117 non-synonymous mutations in GC cells. Further analysis identified 24 significant mutated genes(SMGs) in single cells, for which a single amino acid change might affect protein conformation. Among them, two genes(CDC27 and FLG) that were mutated only in single cells but not in the corresponding tumor tissue, were recurrently present in another GC tissue cohort, and may play a potential role to promote carcinogenesis, as confirmed by functional characterization. 8LHCGR and ALMS1 defects likely cooperate in the development of polycystic ovary syndrome indicated by double-mutant mice显示文摘Polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)is a heterogeneous disorder with evidence of polygenetic components,and obesity may be a risk factor for hyperandrogen ism.Previous studies have shown that LHCGR is en riched in the ovary and LHCGR deficiency causes infertility without typical PCOS phenotypes.ALMS1 is implicated in obesity and hyperandrogenism,the common phenotypes among PCOS patients.Through whole-exome sequencing of 22 PCOS families and targeted candidate gene sequencing of additional 65 sporadic PCOS patients,we identified potential causative mutations in LHCGR and ALMS1 in a sibling-pair PCOS family and three sporadic PCOS patients.The expression of LHCGRL638 P in granulosa-like tumor cell line(KGN)cells promoted cyclic adenosine monophosphate production and granulosa cell proliferation,indicating that LHCGRL638 P is an activating mutation.Lhcgr~(L642 P/L642 P)mice showed an irregular estrous cycle,reduced follicles with dynamic folliculogenesis,and increased testosterone(T),estradiol(E2),and dehydroepiandrosterone.Lhcgr~(+/L642 P)AIms1~(+/PB)mice displayed increased T and E2 but decreased late secondary and preovulatory follicles.We showed that activating mutation of LHCGR likely plays important roles in the pathophysiology of PCOS involving abnormal reproductive physiology,whereas ALMS1 deficiency may promote anovulatory infertility via elevated androgens,suggesting that the disturbed LHCGR and ALMS1 cooperatively induce PCOS phenotypes,characterized as anovulation and hyperandrogenemia frequently observed in PCOS patients with obesity.Li Yu Lina Wang Wufan Tao Wenxiang Zhang Shuanghao Yang Jian Wang Jia Fei Rui Peng Yiming Wu Xiumei Zhen Hong Shao Weiyue Gu Rong Li Bai-Lin Wu Hongyan Wang 2021Journal of Genetics and Genomics2021,48,5:3

10Alleviating the crosstalk effect via a fine-moulded light-blocking matrix for colour-converted micro-LED display with a 122% NTSC gamut显示文摘One of the major challenges when fabricating high gamut colour-converted micro-light-emitting diodes(LEDs)displays is severe crosstalk effect among adjacent pixels because of the wide view-angle feature of micro-LED chips.In this study,potential factors that contribute to the crosstalk effect were systematically simulated.We observed that precisely filling the space between each micro-LED chip with a light blocking matrix(LBM)can be a promising solution to alleviate this risk.After careful investigations,a press-assisted moulding technique was demonstrated to be an effective approach of fabricating the LBM.Nevertheless,experimental observations further revealed that residual black LBM on the surface of micro-LEDs severely reduces the brightness,thereby compromising the display performance.This problem was successfully addressed by employing a plasma etching technique to efficiently extract the trapped light.Eventually,a top-emitting blue micro-LED-based backlight fine-moulded with a black LBM was developed and combined with red and green quantum dot colour-conversion layers for full-colour display.The colour gamut of our manufactured display prototype can cover as high as 122%that of the National Television Standards Committee.Yongming Yin Zhiping Hu Muhammad Umair Ali Miao Duan Yongwei Wu Ming Liu Wenxiang Peng Jun Hou Dongze Li Xin Zhang Hong Meng 2022Light(Advanced Manufacturing)2022,3,3:2
11Field-Oriented Control and Direct Torque Control for a Five-Phase Fault-Tolerant Flux-Switching Permanent-Magnet Motor显示文摘This paper presents a comparative performance analysis of a new five-phase fault-tolerant flux-switching permanent-magnet(FT-FSPM)motor for high-reliability applications under the two most popular control schemes,namely,field-oriented control(FOC)and direct torque control(DTC)based on stator-flux orientation.Firstly,the new motor topology and structural characteristics are briefly presented.Secondly,the d-and q-axis for the FT-FSPM motor are defined,which is crucial to the mathematical model and control scheme,and the mathematical models are derived.Then,two control schemes,i.e.,FOC and DTC,and the main system are proposed.The operational principles of the two control schemes are presented,and space vector pulse width modulation(SVPWM)based on four neighboring vectors is adopted to reduce current harmonics and torque ripples.Finally,the simulated and experimental results are given,and performance analysis of the two control schemes are compared and discussed.The results reveal that FOC scheme has the sinusoidal phase current and low torque ripples,while the DTC scheme has fast dynamic response,verifying the effectiveness of the two proposed control schemes.This paper is a primary investigation for more possible improvements in the control schemes of the five-phase FS-FTPM motor.Binyu Wu Dezhi Xu Jinghua Ji Wenxiang Zhao Qingwang Jiang 2018Chinese Journal of Electrical Engineering2018,4,4:2

16Preparation and Li^+ storage properties of hierarchical hollow porous carbon spheres显示文摘Hollow ordered porous carbon spheres(HOPCS) with a hierarchical structure were prepared by templating with hollow ordered mesoporous silica spheres(HOMSS).Scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM) showed that HOPCS exhibited a spherical hollow morphology.High-resolution TEM,small angle X-ray diffraction(SAXRD) and N_2 sorption measurements confirmed that HOPCS inversely replicated the unconnected hexagonal-stacked pore structure of HOMSS,and possessed ordered porosity.HOPCS exhibited a higher storage capacity for Li^+ ion battery(LIB) of 527.6 mAh/g,and good cycling performance.A large capacity loss during the first discharge-charge cycle was found attributed to the high content of micropores.The cycling performance was derived from the hierarchical structure.Xiaofeng Wu Wenxiang Tang Kejia Jiao Yunfa Chen 2014Particuology2014,12,3:1
17Mechanisms of oil displacement by ASP-foam and its influencing factors显示文摘ASP-foam(ASPF) is a system prepared by injecting natural gas into the conventional alkalisurfactant-polymer(ASP) system. Foam can be formed in the porous media by the interaction of gas and surfactant in the ASP system. With the ASPF system,oil recovery is improved as the interfacial tension(IFT) is reduced to a relatively low level,and the swept volume is enlarged. In this paper,four surfactants were evaluated and characterized by IFT between ASP system and oil and the foaming performance. Alkyl benzene sulfonate(ORS-41) was chosen as the surfactant to best reduce IFT between displacement fluids and oil and improve the foaming performance. The mechanisms of ASPF flooding were studied in this paper,the results show that the ASPF flooding not only enlarges the swept volume but also enhances the displacement effi ciency. The effects of reservoir heterogeneity,the gas-liquid ratio of ASPF system,and the concentrations of polymer and surfactant on the displacement effi ciency were studied. A fi eld trial of ASPF flooding has also been conducted. 19Energy-efficient cell-association bias adjustment algorithm for ultra-dense networks显示文摘In recent years, energy efficiency has become an important topic, especially in the field of ultradense networks(UDNs). In this area, cell-association bias adjustment and small cell on/off are proposed to enhance the performance of energy efficiency in UDNs. This is done by changing the cell association relationship and turning off the extra small cells that have no users. However, the variety of cell association relationships and the switching on/off of the small cells may deteriorate some users' data rates, leading to nonconformance to the users' data rate requirement. Considering the discreteness and non-convexity of the energy efficiency optimization problem and the coupled relationship between cell association and scheduling during the optimization process, it is difficult to achieve an optimal cell-association bias. In this study, we optimize the network energy efficiency by adjusting the cell-association bias of small cells while satisfying the users' data rate requirement. We propose an energy-efficient centralized Gibbs sampling based cell-association bias adjustment(CGSCA) algorithm. In CGSCA, global information such as channel state information, cell association information, and network load information need to be collected. Then, considering the overhead of the messages that are exchanged and the implementation complexity of CGSCA to obtain the global information in UDNs, we propose an energy-efficient distributed Gibbs sampling based cell-association bias adjustment(DGSCA) algorithm with a lower message-exchange overhead and implementation complexity.Using DGSCA, we derive the updated formulas for calculating the number of users in a cell and the users' SINR. We analyze the implementation complexities(e.g., computation complexity and communication complexity) of the proposed two algorithms and other existing algorithms. We perform simulations, and the results show that CGSCA and DGSCA have faster convergence speed, as well as a higher performance gain of the energy efficiency and throughput compared to other existing algorithms. In addition, we analyze the importance of the users' data rate constraint in optimizing the energy efficiency, and we compare the energy efficiency performance of different algorithms with different number of small cells.
