| 1 | Insights on the solubilization products after combined alkaline and ultrasonic pre-treatment of sewage sludge显示文摘This work provides insights on the solubilization products after a simultaneous combination of alkaline and ultrasonic(ALK + ULS) pre-treatment of sewage sludge.Soluble chemical oxygen demand(SCOD) increased from 1200 to 11,000 mg/L after such treatment. Organics with molecular weight around 5.6 k Da were solubilized because of the synergistic effect of ultrasound and alkali. Organics with molecular weight larger than300 k Da increased from 7.8% to 60%, 16% and 42.3% after ULS, ALK and ALK + ULS treatment, respectively. Excitation emission matrix fluorescence spectroscopy analysis identified soluble microbial product-like and humic acid-like matters as the main solubilization products. Sludge anaerobic biodegradability was significantly enhanced with the simultaneous application of ALK + ULS pre-treatment. ALK + ULS pre-treatment resulted in 37.8% biodegradability increase compared to the untreated sludge. | 12 | Simultaneous degradation of RhB and reduction of Cr(Ⅵ) by MIL-53(Fe)/Polyaniline(PANI) with the mediation of organic acid显示文摘MIL-53(Fe)/polyaniline(PANI) composite was prepared by in situ depositing PANI on the surface of MIL-53(Fe) and their catalytic performances on the simultaneous removal of Rh B and Cr(Ⅵ) were investigated. The elimination efficiency of both RhB and Cr(Ⅵ) reached more than 98% under pH = 2 where hydrochloric acid and citric acid were used to adjust the pH. The results indicated that MIL-53(Fe)/PANI revealed an obvious pH response to the degradation of RhB, while citric acid promoted the Cr(Ⅵ)photoreduction. UV–Vis spectra, EIS, and photocurrent response experiments showed that MIL-53(Fe)/PANI had a better light response and carrier migration ability than MIL-53(Fe). The transient absorption spectra also exhibited that the lifetimes of photo-generated carriers were prolonged after the conductive polymer deposition on the MIL-53(Fe) surface. Scavenger experiments demonstrated that the main active species were·O;-and·OH. Combined with activity evaluation results, and the possible photocatalytic mechanism of MIL-53(Fe)/PANI on RhB oxidation and Cr(Ⅵ) reduction was proposed. The addition of conductive polymer can effectively improve the light response of the catalyst under acidic conditions, and meanwhile citric acid also provided a new mediation for the synergistic degradation of multiple pollutants. | 13 | Comparison of PM_(2.5) and CO_(2) Concentrations in Large Cities of China during the COVID-19 Lockdown显示文摘Estimating the impacts on PM_(2.5)pollution and CO_(2)emissions by human activities in different urban regions is important for developing efficient policies.In early 2020,China implemented a lockdown policy to contain the spread of COVID-19,resulting in a significant reduction of human activities.This event presents a convenient opportunity to study the impact of human activities in the transportation and industrial sectors on air pollution.Here,we investigate the variations in air quality attributed to the COVID-19 lockdown policy in the megacities of China by combining in-situ environmental and meteorological datasets,the Suomi-NPP/VIIRS and the CO_(2)emissions from the Carbon Monitor project.Our study shows that PM_(2.5)concentrations in the spring of 2020 decreased by 41.87%in the Yangtze River Delta(YRD)and 43.30%in the Pearl River Delta(PRD),respectively,owing to the significant shutdown of traffic and manufacturing industries.However,PM_(2.5)concentrations in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei(BTH)region only decreased by 2.01%because the energy and steel industries were not fully paused.In addition,unfavorable weather conditions contributed to further increases in the PM_(2.5)concentration.Furthermore,CO_(2)concentrations were not significantly affected in China during the short-term emission reduction,despite a 19.52%reduction in CO_(2)emissions compared to the same period in 2019.Our results suggest that concerted efforts from different emission sectors and effective long-term emission reduction strategies are necessary to control air pollution and CO_(2)emissions. | Chuwei LIU Zhongwei HUANG Jianping HUANG Chunsheng LIANG Lei DING Xinbo LIAN Xiaoyue LIU Li Zhang Danfeng WANG | 2022 | Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2022,39,6: | 2 |
| 14 | Hydrophilic characteristics of soft rock in deep mines显示文摘A series of water absorption tests on dried soft rock have been conducted by the intelligent testing system for water absorption tests in deep soft rock,including tests of water absorption with and without pressure.The results show that the water absorbing capacity of rock with a certain pressure is larger than that of rock without pressure;however,the relationship between the water absorbing percentage and the time can be expressed by w(t) = a(1 e-bt).In bi-logarithmic coordinates,the hydrophilic relationship with time in tests with pressure could be characterized by linearity,while they present concave or convex in tests without pressure.Based on the hypothesis that each influential factor is irrelevant and they have a linear correlation with the water absorbing capacity,we calculated the weight coefficient of each factor according to experimental results under different conditions.The calculations demonstrate that the effective porosity,content of smectite and kaolinite are all positively correlated with the water absorption capacity of rock;meanwhile,the fractal dimension of the effective pores presents a negative correlation with the water absorption capacity of rock.The water absorption capacity with pressure increases with increasing illite,chlorite and chlorite/smectite formation and a decrease in illite/smectite formation and the fractal dimension of the effective pores,while it is opposite in tests without pressure.The weight coefficient of smectite is smallest among positive factors,and the fractal dimension of the effective pores is the smallest amongst the negative factors. | Guo Hongyun Li Bing Zhang Yumei Wang Xinbo Zhang Feng | 2015 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2015,25,2: | 2 |
