4The chromosome-level genome of dragon fruit reveals whole-genome duplication and chromosomal co-localization of betacyanin biosynthetic genes显示文摘Dragon fruits are tropical fruits economically important for agricultural industries.As members of the family of Cactaceae,they have evolved to adapt to the arid environment.Here we report the draft genome of Hylocereus undatus,commercially known as the white-fleshed dragon fruit.The chromosomal level genome assembly contains 11 longest scaffolds corresponding to the 11 chromosomes of H.undatus.Genome annotation of H.undatus found~29,000 protein-coding genes,similar to Carnegiea gigantea(saguaro).Whole-genome duplication(WGD)analysis revealed a WGD event in the last common ancestor of Cactaceae followed by extensive genome rearrangements.The divergence time between H.undatus and C.gigantea was estimated to be 9.18 MYA.Functional enrichment analysis of orthologous gene clusters(OGCs)in six Cactaceae plants found significantly enriched OGCs in drought resistance.Fruit flavor-related functions were overrepresented in OGCs that are significantly expanded in H.undatus.The H.undatus draft genome also enabled the discovery of carbohydrate and plant cell wall-related functional enrichment in dragon fruits treated with trypsin for a longer storage time.Lastly,genes of the betacyanin(a red-violet pigment and antioxidant with a very high concentration in dragon fruits)biosynthetic pathway were found to be co-localized on a 12 Mb region of one chromosome.The consequence may be a higher efficiency of betacyanin biosynthesis,which will need experimental validation in the future.The H.undatus draft genome will be a great resource to study various cactus plants.Jinfang Zheng Lyndel W.Meinhardt Ricardo Goenaga Dapeng Zhang Yanbin Yin 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:3
5Highly Efficient Photoelectrocatalytic Reduction of CO2 to Methanol by a p–n Heterojunction CeO2/CuO/Cu Catalyst显示文摘Photoelectrocatalytic reduction of CO2 to fuels has great potential for reducing anthropogenic CO2 emissions and also lessening our dependence on fossil fuel energy.Herein,we report the successful development of a novel photoelectrocatalytic catalyst for the selective reduction of CO2 to methanol,comprising a copper catalyst modified with flower-like cerium oxide nanoparticles(CeO2 NPs)(a n-type semiconductor)and copper oxide nanoparticles(CuO NPs)(a p-type semiconductor).At an applied potential of−1.0 V(vs SCE)under visible light irradiation,the CeO2 NPs/CuO NPs/Cu catalyst yielded methanol at a rate of 3.44μmol cm^−2 h^−1,which was approximately five times higher than that of a CuO NPs/Cu catalyst(0.67μmol cm^−2 h^−1).The carrier concentration increased by^108 times when the flower-like CeO2 NPs were deposited on the CuO NPs/Cu catalyst,due to synergistic transfer of photoexcited electrons from the conduction band of CuO to that of CeO2,which enhanced both photocatalytic and photoelectrocatalytic CO2 reduction on the CeO2 NPs.The facile migration of photoexcited electrons and holes across the p–n heterojunction that formed between the CeO2 and CuO components was thus critical to excellent light-induced CO2 reduction properties of the CeO2 NPs/CuO NPs/Cu catalyst.Results encourage the wider application of composite semiconductor electrodes in carbon dioxide reduction.Zhengbin Pan Ershuan Han Jingui Zheng Jing Lu Xiaolin Wang Yanbin Yin Geoffrey INWaterhouse Xiuguo Wang Peiqiang Li 2020Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,2:3
6Dirac structures on protobialgebroids显示文摘Protobialgebroids include several kinds of algebroid structures such as Lie algebroid,Lie bialgebroid, Lie quasi-bialgebroid, etc. In this paper, the Dirac theories are generalized from Lie bialgebroid to protobialgebroid. We give the integrable conditions for a maximally isotropic subbundle being a Dirac structure for a protobialgebroid by the notion of a characteristic pair. From the integrable conditions, we found out that the Dirac structure has closed relations with the twisting of a protobialgebroid. 14Successful preparation of BaCo_(0.5)Fe_(0.5)O_(3–δ)cathode oxide by rapidly cooling allowing for high-performance proton-conducting solid oxide fuel cells显示文摘A pure phase BaCo_(0.5)Fe_(0.5)O_(3–δ)(BCF),which cannot be obtained before,is successfully prepared in this study by using the calcination method with a rapid cooling procedure.The successful preparation of BCF allows the evaluation of this material as a cathode for proton-conducting solid oxide fuel cells(H-SOFCs)for the first time.An H-SOFC using the BCF cathode achieves an encouraging fuel cell performance of 2012 mW·cm–2 at 700,two℃-fold higher than that of a similar cell using the classical high-performance Ba_(0.5)Sr_(0.5)Co_(0.8)Fe_(0.2)O_(3–δ)(BSCF)cathode.First-principles calculations reveal the mechanism for the performance enhancement,indicating that the new BCF cathode significantly lowers the energy barriers in the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)compared with the BSCF cathode.Therefore,improved cathode performance and fuel cell output are obtained for the BCF cell.The fuel cell using the BCF cathode also shows excellent long-term stability that can work stably for nearly 900 h without noticeable degradations.The fuel cell performance and long-term stability of the current BCF cell are superior to most of the H-SOFCs reported in previous reports,suggesting that BCF is a promising cathode for H-SOFCs.Yanru Yin Yanbin Zhou Yueyuan Gu Lei Bi 2023Journal of Advanced Ceramics2023,12,3:1
