| 1 | HIV,HCV,and HBV Co-Infections in a Rural Area of Shanxi Province with a History of Commercial Blood Donation显示文摘Background:Unhygienic blood collection in the early 1990s led to blood‐borne infections in Central China.This study aimed to estimate human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) co‐infection with hepatitis C and B viruses (HCV and HBV) and their risk factors in a rural area of Shanxi Province with a history of commercial blood donation.Methods:A cross‐sectional study was conducted in 2004.All adult residents in the target area were invited to participate in the study.Face‐to‐face interviews were completed and blood specimens were tested for HIV,HCV,and HBV surface antigen (HBsAg).Results:Prevalence rates of HIV,HCV,and HBsAg were 1.3% (40/3 062),12.7% (389/3 062),and 3.5% (103/2982),respectively.Of the 40 HIV‐positive specimens,85% were HCV positive and 2.5% were HBsAg positive.The history of commercial blood donation was positively associated with HIV,HCV,and HIV/HCV co‐infections,but was negatively associated with HBsAg seropositivity.Migration for employment in the last 5 years was positively related to HIV,HBsAg,and HIV/HCV co‐infections.Univariate logistic analysis showed that illegal drug use,number of sex partners,extramarital sex behavior,commercial sex behavior,and condom use rate were not related to anti‐HIV,anti‐HCV,HBsAg seropositivity or their co‐infections.Conclusion:The history of commercial blood donation was the main risk factor for HIV,HCV,and HIV/HCV co‐infections in this former commercial blood donation area.HIV and HCV prevention and treatment interventions are important in this area. | DONG RuiLing QIAO Xiao Chun JIA WangQian WONG Michelle QIAN HanZhu ZHENG XiWen XING WenGe LAI ShengHan WU ZhengLai JIANG Yan WANG Ning | 2011 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2011，24，3： | 1 |

| 7 | Effects of continuous casting mould fluxes on reducing longitudinal and star cracks on a slab surface显示文摘In the continuous casting production of medium carbon steel (whose mass fraction of carbon is 0.09 % to 0.16 %) and high strength low alloy steel (whose mass fraction of Mn is 0.90 % to 1.40 %), flecks occurring the most often are usually longitudinal and star cracks. In additional to the employment of a galvanized plate mould, two kinds of fluxes with special properties were studied and used to harmonize the conflicts between the function of heat transfer and lubrication. An industrial application revealed that the crystallizing temperature (Tc) and crystal ratio (R) of fluxes have a crucible effect on impeding the occurrence of above defects on a slab surface. | 14 | Construction and Biological Effects in vitro of Double-Directed Tissue-Specific HSV-tk/GCV Anti-Tumor System显示文摘Objective: To construct a specifically targeted gene delivery and expression system, and to investigate the special killing effect of the HSV-tk/GCV system on human liver cancer cells in vitro.Methods: The anti-transferrin receptor (TfR) ScFv-GAL4 fusion protein expression vector ScFv-GAL4-pET28a and the eukaryotic expression plasmid pEBAF/tk-GAL4rec were constructed by recombinant DNA technology. After the induction by IPTG, we obtained the anti-TfR ScFv-GAL4 fusion protein as delivery vector to transfect pEBAF/tk-GAL4rec into the human liver cancer cell lines HepG2 and SMMC7721 and the human lung cancer cell line A549 that overexpress TfR via receptor-mediated endocytosis. The positive cell clones were selected by hygromycin and named HepG2/tk, SMMC7721/tk and A549/tk,respectively. Cell killing after GCV application was determined by MTT. Results: The correct structure of the ScFv-Gal4 fusion protein and the plasmid pEBAF/tk-GAL4rec was confirmed by double enzyme digestion, SDS-PAGE and sequencing. HepG2/tk cells that express alphafetoprotein (AFP) to high levels(845 ng/ml) were very sensitive to GCV, while SMMC7721/tk cells that express AFP at low levels (2ng/ml) and AFP-negative A549/tk cells were only slightly or not sensitive to GCV.
