1A numerical study of cavitating flows in high-pressure diesel injection nozzle holes using a two-fluid model显示文摘Cavitating flows inside a diesel injection nozzle hole were simulated using a two-fluid model. Attention was focused on the complex cavitation processes and flow characteristics under constant inlet pressure and fluctuant inlet pressure modes. To validate the two-fluid model, model predictions were compared with the experimental data available in the literatures, and good agreement was achieved. The numerical results show that the appearance of supercavitation in the diesel nozzle hole induces obvious changes of flow field structures and exit flow conditions. The distributions of liquid phase turbulent kinetic energy and exit velocity profiles corresponding to the supercavitation regime indicate the potential for promoting the primary breakup of a diesel jet. Furthermore, the upstream pressure fluctuations significantly influence the cavitation processes. 3Receptance Coupling for Tool Point Dynamics Prediction on Machine Tools显示文摘Chatter has been a primary obstacle to the successful implementation of high speed machining.The frequency response function(FRF) of the tool point is crucial for identification of chatter free cutting conditions.In order to quickly acquire the FRF of the different components combinations of machine tool,the assembly of machine tool was always decomposed into several parts,where the fluted portion of tool,however,was always treated as a uniform beam,and the associated discrepancy was ignored.This paper presents a new method to predict the dynamic response of the machine-spindle-holder-tool assembly using the receptance coupling substructure analysis technique,where the assembly is divided into three parts:machine-spindle,holder and tool shank,and tool's fluted portion.Impact testing is used to measure the receptance of machine-spindle,the Timoshenko beam model is employed to analyze the dynamics of holder and tool shank,and the finite element method(FEM) is used to calculate the receptance of the tool's fluted portion.The approximation of the fluted portion cross section using an equivalent diameter is also addressed.All the individual receptances are coupled by using substructure method.The predicted assembly receptance is experimentally verified for three different tool overhang lengths.The results also show that the equivalent diameter beam model reaches an acceptable accuracy.The proposed approach is helpful to predict the tool point dynamics rapidly in industry.ZHANG Jun SCHMITZ Tony ZHAO Wanhua LU Bingheng 2011Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2011,24,3:9

5Preliminary analysis of species sensitivity distribution based on gene expression effect显示文摘Species sensitivity analysis is one of the major techniques applied to derive water quality criteria. Presently, the toxicity data used for development of water quality criteria are mainly in the biological individual level. With the increase of ecotoxicogenomics toxicity data, it is worth studying whether the gene expression effect data can be used to derive water quality criteria. Taking cadmium, copper and zinc as examples, we analyzed the toxic effects of the three heavy metals by constructing the species sensitivity distribution curves on the basis of extensive toxicity data. The results showed that the rank of species sensitivity for the acute, chronic and gene expression effect toxicity data of cadmium is 'chronic>gene>acute'. Although the gene expression effect data of copper and zinc are insufficient, the trend of data sensitivity of zinc is similar to cadmium. However, the trend of species sensitivity of copper is different from that of cadmium and zinc with higher sensitivity of gene expression data. It suggested that though the existing data of gene expression effects are not sufficient enough, they have the potential to be used in the development of chronic water quality criteria. 6Experimental study on the effects of HP and LP EGR on thermal efficiency and emissions of a two-stage turbocharged diesel engine显示文摘An experimental study was performed to compare the effects of high-and low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation loops(HP and LP EGR loops)on thermal efficiency and emissions of a diesel engine.Tests were conducted on a 12-L six-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine under various operating conditions.We found that at a low speed of 1100 r/min,1 MPa BMEP,the LP EGR loop could achieve higher brake thermal efficiency and lower emissions than the HP EGR.This is because the lower enthalpy available at the turbine inlet of the HP EGR loop increased the fuel/oxygen equivalence ratio.For the HP EGR,the gross indicated thermal efficiency was reduced by 1%,but pumping losses were only reduced by 0.5%,compared to the LP EGR loop.At a higher speed of 1600 r/min,1 MPa BMEP,the HP EGR loop attained a higher brake thermal efficiency and lower emissions because of the relatively sufficient flow through the turbocharger.For the HP EGR loop,the gross indicated thermal efficiency was only reduced by 0.5%and pumping losses were reduced by 1.5%,compared to the LP EGR loop.Lower fuel consumption and a longer ignition delay made the distribution of fuel/oxygen equivalence ratio more homogeneous,leading to lower emissions.Our data also showed that at the high speed of 1600 r/min,0.55 MPa BMEP,the brake thermal efficiency of the HP EGR loop first increased,then decreased as the EGR rate increased.Therefore,under all conditions,a reasonable match of both EGR loops could achieve a good balance between fuel consumption and emissions of NOx and soot.WU BinYang PU YouZhe YU XiaoYang SU WanHua 2014Science China(Technological Sciences)2014,57,2:6
7Structure change of 430 stainless steel in the heating process显示文摘The microstructure analysis was employed for the ferritic stainless steel(SUS430)with the carbon content from 0.029wt% to 0.100wt% under the simulated heating process condition.The higher carbon sample(430H)contains the duplex phase micro- structure at the temperature of 1150℃;on the other hand,the lower carbon content sample(430L)does not touch two phase area even at the temperature of 1450℃and has the single phase ferritic microstructure.The carbon content need be well controlled for the 430 ferritic stainless steel since it can significantly affect the heating process curve,and the heating process may not be done in the two phase area due to the uncontrolled carbon content.With the low carbon content and the proper soaking time,the grain size is not sensitive to the heating process temperature and the soaking time.In the present heat treatment experiments,the soaking time is about 10 min,and the processing parameters can be chosen according to the requirement of the gross energy,the efficiency and the continual forming.Xinzhong Liu Jingtao Han Wanhua Yu Shifeng Dai 2008Journal of University of Science and Technology Beijing2008,15,1:6

9FEATURE EXTRACTION OF BONES AND SKIN BASED ON ULTRASONIC SCANNING显示文摘In the prosthetic socket design, aimed at the high cost and radiation deficiency caused by CT scanning which is a routine technique to obtain the cross-sectional image of the residual limb, a new ultrasonic scanning method is developed to acquire the bones and skin contours of the residual limb. Using a pig fore-leg as the scanning object, an overlapping algorithm is designed to reconstruct the 2D cross-sectional image, the contours of the bone and skin are extracted using edge detection algorithm and the 3D model of the pig fore-leg is reconstructed by using reverse engineering technology. The results of checking the accuracy of the image by scanning a cylinder work pieces show that the extracted contours of the cylinder are quite close to the standard circumference. So it is feasible to get the contours of bones and skin by ultrasonic scanning. 12Influence of Strut Cross-section of Stents on Local Hemodynamics in Stented Arteries显示文摘Stenting is a very effective treatment for stenotic vascular diseases, but vascular geometries altered by stent implantation may lead to flow disturbances which play an important role in the initiation and progression of restenosis, especially in the near wall in stented arterial regions. So stent designs have become one of the indispensable factors needed to be considered for reducing the flow disturbances. In this paper, the structural designs of strut cross-section are considered as an aspect of stent designs to be studied in details. Six virtual stents with different strut cross-section are designed for deployments in the same ideal arterial model. Computational fluid dynamics(CFD) methods are performed to study how the shape and the aspect ratio(AR) of strut cross-section modified the local hemodynamics in the stented segments. The results indicate that stents with different strut cross-sections have different influence on the hemodynamics. Stents with streamlined cross-sectional struts for circular arc or elliptical arc can significantly enhance wall shear stress(WSS) in the stented segments, and reduce the flow disturbances around stent struts. The performances of stents with streamlined cross-sectional struts are better than that of stents with non-streamlined cross-sectional struts for rectangle. The results also show that stents with a larger AR cross-section are more conductive to improve the blood flow. 13The circular RNA circINPP4B acts as a sponge of miR-30a to regulate Th17 cell differentiation during progression of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis显示文摘Circular RNAs(circRNAs)regulate gene expression and participate in various biological and pathological processes.However,little is known about the effects of specific circRNAs on T helper cell 17(Th17)differentiation and related autoimmune diseases,such as multiple sclerosis(MS).Here,using transcriptome microarray analysis at different stages of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis(EAE),we identified the EAE progression-related circINPP4B,which showed upregulated expression in Th17 cells from mice with EAE and during Th17 differentiation in vitro.Silencing of circINPP4B inhibited Th17 differentiation and alleviated EAE,characterized by less demyelination and Th17 infiltration in the spinal cord.Mechanistically,circINPP4B served as a sponge that directly targeted miR-30a to regulate Th17 differentiation.Furthermore,circINPP4B levels were associated with the developing phases of clinical relapsing-remitting MS patients.Our results indicate that circINPP4B plays an important role in promoting Th17 differentiation and progression of EAE by targeting miR-30a,which provides a potential diagnostic and therapeutic target for Th17-mediated MS.Jingjing Han Wei Zhuang Wanhua Feng Fuxing Dong Fang Hua Ruiqin Yao Xuebin Qu 2021Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,9:2
14Vanadyl ions binding to GroEL (HSP60) and inducing its depolymerization显示文摘Several vanadium compounds have been known for the hypoglycemic and anticancer effects. However, the mechanisms of the pharmacological and toxicological effects were not clear. In this work, we in- vestigated the potential targets of vanadium in mitochondria. Vanadyl ions were found to bind to mi- tochondria from rat liver with a stoichiometry of 244±58 nmol/mg protein and an apparent dissocia- tion constant (Kd) of (2.0±0.8)×10·16 mol/L. Using size exclusion chromatography, a vanadium-binding protein was isolated and identified to be the 60-kDa heat shock protein (HSP60) by mass spectrometry analysis and immunoassays. Additionally, binding of vanadyl ions was found to result in depolymeri- zation of homo-oligomeric HSP60 (GroEL). HSP60 is an indispensable molecular chaperone and in- volved in many kinds of pathogenesis of inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, e.g. type 1 diabetes. 15Orthogonal tests of copper-clad aluminum bimetal continuous casting by nitrogen pressure core-illing显示文摘To provide theoretical basis and practical guidance for preparing composite rods by direct continuous casting, copper-clad aluminum composite rods of external copper layer diameter 12 mm and inner aluminum core diameter 8 mm were manufactured. Orthogonal tests consisted of three factors and three levels were carried out to research the effects of melting copper temperature, continuous casting speed and nitrogen pressure on the performance of composite rods. Results showed that nitrogen pressure is the most important factor in influencing the surface quality; continuous casting speed is the most important factor in influencing copper & aluminum inter diffusion amount. Nitrogen pressure can noticeably improve the surface quality and make the rods easily be drawn out, but the surface quality does not show visible improvement when the nitrogen pressure is above 0.05 MPa. Measured by tests, the compound layer can be divided into three types according to its cladding layer degree: deficient cladding, normal cladding and excess cladding.
