1Recovery of phosphorus as struvite from sewage sludge ash显示文摘Phosphorus(P) is an element vital for all living organisms,yet the world's reserves of phosphate rock are becoming depleted.This study investigated an effective P recovery method from sludge ash via struvite precipitation.Results showed that more than 95% of the total P content was extracted from sludge ash by applying 0.5 mol/L HCl at a liquid/solid ratio of 50 mL/g.Although heavy metal leaching also occurred during P extraction,cation exchange resin efficiently removed the heavy metals from the P-rich solution.Orthogonal tests showed that the optimal parameters for P precipitation as struvite would be a Mg:N:P molar ratio of 1.6:1.6:1 at pH 10.0.X-ray diffraction analysis validated the formation of struvite.Further investigations revealed that the harvested precipitate had a high struvite content(97%),high P bioavailability(94%),and low heavy metal content,which could be considered a high quality fertilizer.Huacheng Xu Pinjing He Weimei Gu Guanzhao Wang Liming Shao 2012Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,8:15
2Research and application on the technology system of multi-scale assessment of the impact on the atmospheric environment by urban planning显示文摘Improvement of the atmospheric environment in urban planning is an important issue to implement the sustainable development of cities. In this paper, in order to meet the demand of planning office to compare and assess quantitatively of the designs in multi-scale, based on geographical information system (GIS) data with high resolution, a multi-scale numerical modeling system for the atmospheric environment impact of urban planning is set up, and the multi-scale assessment index system is established, which compose the technology system of multi-scale assessment of the impact on the atmospheric environment by urban planning. 3Chronic intermittent hypoxia accelerates liver fibrosis in rats with combined hypoxia and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis via angiogenesis rather than endoplasmic reticulum stress显示文摘In the present study,we aimed to investigate the role of endoplasmic reticulum stress(ERS)and its related inflammation and angiogenesis in liver fibrosis in a rat model of combined hypoxia and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH)and to confirm whether the intervention of hypoxia-inducible factor 1α(HIF1α)can improve fibrosis.Liver histological changes and biochemical indices,HIF1α,inflammatory factors,ERS-related parameters(GRP78,CHOP,caspase-3,and caspase-12),and angiogenesis indices(VEGFA,VEGFR2,and CD34)were evaluated.Compared with the control rats,the liver tissue of rats with hypoxia and NASH had obvious NASH characteristics and hepatic fibrosis was significantly aggravated,including bridging fibrosis in some rats.The mRNA expression levels of HIF1α,VEGFA,and VEGFR2 and total immunohistochemical staining scores of VEGFR2 and CD34 were significantly increased.In addition,HIF1α silencing significantly decreased HIF1α,biochemical indices(ALT,AST,and TG),inflammatory factors(TNFα,IL6,and IL1β),and angiogenesis indices(CD34 and VEGFR2),consequently,improved the hepatic fibrosis score in the rat model of combined hypoxia and NASH.Taken together,chronic intermittent hypoxia accelerates liver fibrosis in rats with combined hypoxia and NASH via angiogenesis rather than ERS and HIF1α intervention can improve liver fibrosis,angiogenesis,inflammatory factors,and biochemical indices.Therefore,HIF1α is a key regulatory factor of liver fibrosis in rats with combined hypoxia and NASH.Wei Wu Weiping Li Jiaojiao Wei Chunsheng Wang Yunliang Yao Weihua Zhu Weimei He Weimei Zhou Jiang Liu 2019Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2019,51,2:8
4Studies on in vitro regeneration competence of pseudobulb cultures in Changnienia amoena Chien显示文摘An efficient procedure is outlined for rapid and mass propagation through in vitro culture of pseudobulbs collected in different seasons of an endangered orchid, Changnienia amoena Chien. Axillary buds formed on intact pseudobulbs (collected in April) after a 12-week incubation on half-strength Murashige and Skoog (1/2 MS) medium supplemented with 1 mg L-1 N6-benzyl- adenine (6-BA), 0.5 mg L-1 α-naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA), 100 ml L-1 coconut water and 0.8 g L-1 polyvinylpyrrolidone; no buds were observed on segmentalized pseudobulbs incubated on the same medium. The axillary buds obtained from pseudobulbs growing in the natural habitat in June were detached and incubated for 7 weeks on the same medium leading to 1.4 shoot buds per explant. With repeated subculturing of the shoots on 1/2 MS medium supplemented with 2 mg L-1 6-BA and 0.5 mg L-1 NAA, a mean of 3.3 shoot buds per explant were observed on successive shoot cultures. A mean of 4.5 roots per shoot were induced on the optimal root induction medium with 1/2 MS medium plus 1.0 mg L-1 NAA and 0.1 mg L-1 6-BA and the highest rooting per centage was 88.9%. Plantlets 4-5 cm in height were transplanted into pots containing a 1:1 humus and sand mixture and grown for 7 weeks in a greenhouse before being transferred to the field. 5Growth, photosynthesis and podophyllotoxin accumulation of Dysosma versipellis in response to a light gradient and conservation implications显示文摘Dysosma versipellis (Hance) M. Cheng ex Ying (Berberidaceae) is a rare and vulnerable, perennial herb endemic to China with pharmaceutical significance. Increasing habitat loss and over-exploitation of the plant has severely affected the plant's in situ conservation, necessitating ex situ conservation and commercial cultivation. The light regime is a critical environmental factor contributing to successful ex situ conservation via efficient production of biomass and secondary metabolites. We investigated the responses of 2-year-old D. versipellis plants to a light gradient in terms of leaf morphology, growth, biomass production, photo- synthesis and podophyllotoxin (PTOX) accumulation. D. versipellis responded to the light gradient in terms of plant height, leaf size, leaf photosynthesis and PTOX accumulation. Plants demonstrated optimal vegetative growth, photosynthetic capability, and PTOX production, under a light intensity equal to 30% full sunlight. Half full sunlight led to the lowest production of PTOX despite having no obviously different effects on growth. Full sunlight was able to cause leaf death in mid-summer (July), although these plantlets did not significantly differ in growth or biomass production before July and new leaves emerged in August. D. versipellis is therefore proposed to be a shade-tolerant plant, well adapted to variations in irradiance. 6Chronic intermittent hypoxia promotes the development of experimental non-alcoholic steatohepatitis by modulating Treg/Th17 differentiation显示文摘The present study aims to characterize the effect of chronic intermittent hypoxia and HIF1α on the non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH)process in mice,and to explore the role of the Treg/Th17 balance in the formation of NASH inflammation and fibrosis.To achieve this purpose,simple steatosis was induced in mice by high-fat diet administration.Subsequently,chronic intermittent hypoxia was simulated by intraperitoneally injecting sodium nitrite.The changes of inflammation, fibrosis,and Treg/Th17 balance in the liver were.quantified under chronic intermittent hypoxia condition and after tail vein injection of HIF1α-siRNA.In addition,T cells were cultured in vitro, and HIF1α expression was either blocked or overexpressed under chronic intermittent hypoxia or normal conditions.Then,the changes of Treg/Th17 balance,inflammatory factors,and cell pathways were measured in each group.Our results demonstrated that chronic intermittent hypoxia accelerates the NASH process,while tail vein injection of HIF1α-siRNA improves liver histology and function.Chronic intermittent hypoxia alters the ratio of Th17 and Treg cells through HIF1α and roTOR signaling,and increases the expressions of NF-κB,IL-6,and IL-17,but decreases IL-10 expression.Inhibition of the mTOR-HIF1α-TLR4-IL-6 pathway increases the ratio of Treg/Th17. 7Application of FLUENT on fine-scale simulation of wind field over complex terrain显示文摘The state-of-art Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) codes FLUENT is applied in a fine-scale simulation of the wind field over a complex terrain. Several numerical tests are performed to validate the capability of FLUENT on describing the wind field details over a complex terrain. The results of the numerical tests show that FLUENT can simulate the wind field over extremely complex terrain, which cannot be simulated by mesoscale models. The reason why FLUENT can cope with extremely complex terrain, which can not be coped with by mesoscale models, relies on some particular techniques adopted by FLUENT, such as computer-aided design (CAD) technique, unstructured grid technique and finite volume method. 8Advances in Urban Meteorological Research in China显示文摘Over the past decades,a large number of studies have been carried out in the field of urban meteorology in China.This paper summarizes the main progress in urban meteorology research from four aspects:urban meteorological observation network and field campaign,multi-scale model of urban meteorology,interaction between urban meteorology and atmospheric environment,and the impacts of urbanization on weather and climate.Major advances are as follows.China’s major cities have established or are improving comprehensive urban meteorological observation networks characterized by multi-platform,multi-variable,multi-scale,multi-link,and multi-function.Beijing,Nanjing,Shanghai,and other cities carried out urban meteorological field campaigns,which were included in the WMO research demonstration project.Wind tunnel experiments and scale-model outdoor experiments were successfully conducted.Multi-scale urban meteorological and air quality prediction numerical model systems have been developed and put into operational use.The urban heat island effect;urban impacts on precipitation,regional climate,and air quality;urban planning;and interaction between urban meteorology and atmospheric environment are extensively investigated.Finally,efforts to improve observational technology,data assimilation,and urban system modeling,to explore the impacts of urbanization on environment and human health,and to provide integrated urban hydro-meteorological climate and environmental services are planned ahead.Shiguang MIAO Weimei JIANG Ping LIANG Hongnian LIU Xuemei WANG Jianguo TAN Ning ZHANG Ju LI Wupeng DU Lin PEI 2020Journal of Meteorological Research2020,34,2:2
