| 1 | Synthesis of novel nanomaterials and their application in efficient removal of radionuclides显示文摘With the development of nuclear energy, large amounts of radionuclides are inevitably released into the natural environment. It is necessary to eliminate radionuclides from wastewater for the protection of environment. Nanomaterials have been considered as the potential candidates for the effective and selective removal of radionuclides from aqueous solutions under complicated conditions because of their high specific surface area, large amounts of binding sites, abundant functional groups, pore-size controllable and easily surface modification. This review mainly summarized the recent studies for the synthesis, fabrication and surface modification of novel nanomaterials and their applications in the efficient elimination and solidification of radionuclides,and discussed the interaction mechanisms from batch experiments, spectroscopy analysis and theoretical calculations. | 4 | Occurrence and infection risk of waterborne pathogens in Wanzhou watershed of the Three Gorges Reservoir, China显示文摘The Three Gorges Reservoir (TGR), formed by China's Yangtze Three Gorges Project, is the largest lake in the world, but there is too little information available about fecal contamination and waterborne pathogen impacts on this aquatic ecosystem. During two successive 1-year study periods (July 2009 to July 2011), the water quality in Wanzhou watershed of the TGR was tested with regard to the presence of fecal indicators and pathogens. According to Chinese and World Health Organization water quality standards, water quality in the mainstream was good but poor in backwater areas. Salmonella, Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC), Giardia and Cryptosporidium were detected in the watershed. Prevalence and concentrations of the pathogens in the mainstream were lower than those in backwater areas. The estimated risk of infection with Salmonella, EHEC, Cryptosporidium, and Giardia per exposure event ranged from 2.9 × 10 -7 to 1.68 × 10-5 , 7.04 × 10-10 to 2.36 × 10-7 , 5.39 × 10-6 to 1.25 × 10-4 and 0 to 1.2 × 10-3 , respectively, for occupational divers and recreational swimmers exposed to the waters. The estimated risk of infection at exposure to the 95% upper confidence limit concentrations of Salmonella, Cryptosporidium and Giardia may be up to 2.62 × 10-5 , 2.55 × 10-4 and 2.86 × 10-3 , respectively. | 10 | Methane and nitrous oxide emissions in rice-crab culture systems of northeast China显示文摘Rice-crab integrated ecosystem has been confirmed to improve the ecological environment and brought greater economic benefits.In order to know greenhouse gases methane(CH_(4))and nitrous oxide(N_(2)O)emissions in ricecrab system,they were quantified from a flooding rice field in northeast China,as affected by integrated ricecrab cultivation.Three treatments with three replications each were given:(1)RC1-rice with crab(megalopa),(2)RC2-rice with crab(juvenile),(3)RM-rice only.Seasonal CH_(4) and N_(2)O fluxes were measured by closed chamber method.Compared with RM treatment,RC1 and RC2 treatments greatly enhanced the cumulative seasonal CH_(4) emissions(by 36.8%and 29.2%,respectively),and reduced the cumulative seasonal N_(2)O emissions(by 28.2%and 19.7%,respectively).Across treatments,CH_(4) represented over 97%of total global warming potential(GWP)and as a result,RC1 and RC2 treatments significantly increased the GWP than RM treatment.Although the GWP was highest in RC1 treatment,it provided highest rice yield(8780 kg/ha)and net ecosystem economic budget(NEEB,23,159 Yuan/ha)over RM(7668 kg/ha,15,130 Yuan/ha)and RC2(8042 kg/ha,18,713 Yuan/ha)treatments.To summarize,cultivation of megalopa in rice field is a better strategy to optimize the economic and environmental benefits in northeast China. | Ang Wang Xuzhou Ma Jing Xu Weiqun Lu | 2019 | Aquaculture and Fisheries2019,4,4: | 6 |
| 11 | Mesoporous silica SBA-15 functionalized with phosphonate and amino groups for uranium uptake显示文摘Mesoporous silicas have a very attractive ability of sorption and enrichment of metal ions due to their huge surface area and facile functionalization by organic ligands.In this work,phosphonate-amino bifunctionalized mesoporous silica SBA-15(PA-SBA-15) as U(VI) sorbent was fabricated through post-grafting method.The obtained mesoporous silica was characterized by SEM,XRD,NMR and nitrogen sorption/desorption experiments,which revealed the existence of ordered mesoporous structure with uniform pore diameter and large surface area.The adsorptivity of PA-SBA-15 for U(VI) from aqueous solution was investigated using batch sorption technique under different experimental conditions.The preliminary results show that the U(VI) sorption by PA-SBA-15 is very quick with equilibrium time of less than 1 h,and the U(VI) uptake is as large as 373 mg/g at pH 5.5 under 95 ℃.The sorption isotherm has been successfully modeled by the Langmuir isotherm,suggesting a monolayer homogeneous sorption of U(VI) in PA-SBA-15.The sorption is pH-dependent due to the pH-dependent charge of sorbent in the aqueous solution.The thermodynamics research shows that the sorption is a feasible and endothermic process.Based on these results,PA-SBA-15 could be a promising solid phase sorbent for highly-efficient removal of U(VI) ions from waste water and enrichment of U(VI) from a solution at a very low level. | WANG XiaoLiang YUANLiYong WANG YanFei LI ZiJie LIU YaLan FENG YiXiao ZHAO YuLiang CHAI ZhiFang SHI WeiQun | 2012 | Science China Chemistry2012,55,9: | 6 |

| 13 | Rules for confidence intervals of permeability coefficients for water flow in over-broken rock mass显示文摘Based on the steady-state seepage method, we used the Mechanical Testing and Simulation 815.02 System and a self-designed seepage instrument for over-broken stone to measure seepage properties of water flows in three types of crushed rock samples. Three methods of confidence interval in describing permeability coefficients are presented: the secure interval, the calculated interval and the systemic interval. The lower bound of the secure interval can be applied to water-inrush and the upper bound can solve the problem of connectivity. For the calculated interval, as the axial pressure increases, the length of confidence interval is shortened and the upper and lower bounds are reduced. For the systemic interval, the length of its confidence interval, as well as the upper and lower bounds, clearly vary under low axial pressure but are fairly similar under high axial pressure. | 16 | Solvent extraction of U(VI) by trioctylphosphine oxide using a room-temperature ionic liquid显示文摘The unique physical and chemical properties of room-temperature ionic liquids(RTILs) have recently received increasing attention as solvent alternatives for possible application in the field of nuclear industry, particularly in liquid-liquid separations of radioactive nuclides. We investigated solvent extraction of U(VI) from aqueous solutions into a commonly used ionic liquid 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide([C4mim][NTf2]) using trioctylphosphine oxide(TOPO) as an extractant. The effects of contact time, TOPO concentration, acidity, and nitrate ions on the U(VI) extraction are discussed in detail. The extraction mechanism was proposed based on slope analysis and UV-Vis measurement. The results clearly show that TOPO/[C4mim][NTf2] provides a highly efficient extraction of U(VI) from aqueous solution under near-neutral conditions. When the TOPO concentration was 10 mmol/L, the extraction of 1 mmol/L U(VI) was almost complete(> 97%). Both the extraction efficiency and distribution coefficient were much larger than in conventional organic solvents such as dichloromethane. Slope analysis confirmed that three TOPO molecules in [C4mim][NTf2] bound with one U(VI) ion and one nitrate ion was also involved in the complexation and formed the final extracted species of [UO2(NO3)(TOPO)3]+. | 17 | Validation of hyperintense middle cerebral artery sign in acute ischemic stroke Comparison between magnetic resonance imaging and angiography显示文摘We performed a retrospective analysis of non-contrast computed tomography (CT) scans, immediately subsequent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and cerebral angiography data from 30 consecutive patients with acute ischemic stroke within 6 hours after symptom onset. Results showed that eleven patients developed subsequent hemorrhagic transformation at follow-up. A hyperintense middle cerebral artery sign on MRI was found in six hemorrhagic patients, all of who had acute thrombosis formation on magnetic resonance angiography and digital subtraction angiography. No patients in the non-hemorrhagic group had hyperintense middle cerebral artery sign on MRI. The sensitivity, specificity, and positive predictive values of the hyperintense middle cerebral artery sign on MRI T1-weighted image for subsequent hemorrhagic transformation were 54.5%, 100%, and 100% respectively. Hyperdense middle cerebral artery sign on non-contrast CT was observed in nine patients, five of who developed hemorrhagic transformation. | 18 | Easily prepared and stable functionalized magnetic ordered mesoporous silica for efficient uranium extraction显示文摘Functionalized magnetic Fe_3O_4@SiO_2 composite nanoparticles were prepared by simply embedding iron oxide nanoparticles into MCM-41 through one-step synthesis process, followed by aminopropyls grafting on the mesopore channels, aiming to efficiently and conveniently uptake U(VI) from aqueous solution. The resultant material possesses highly ordered mesoporous structure with large surface area, uniform pore size, excellent thermal stability, quick magnetic response, and desirable acids resistance, confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), N_2 adsorption/desorption experiments, powder X-ray diffraction(PXRD), and thermogravimetric analysis(TGA). Detailed U(VI) sorption test indicated that this material is indeed an effective U(VI) sorbent with fast sorption kinetics of less than 2 h, large sorption capacity of 160 mg/g at p H 5.0±0.1, and desirable selectivity towards U(VI) ions over a range of competing metal ions. The absorbed U(VI) can be easily desorbed by 0.01 mol/L or more concentrated HNO_3 solution, and the reclaimed sorbent can be reused with no obvious decrease of sorption capacity even after 4 sorption-desorption cycles.
