3Chemical Compositions and Distribution Characteristics of Cements in Longmaxi Formation Shales, Southwest China显示文摘Shale gas resources have been regarded as a viable energy source, and it is of great significance to characterize the shale composition of different cements, such as quartz and dolomite. In this research, chemical analysis and the multifractal method have been used to study the mineral compositions and petrophysical structures of cements in shale samples from the Longmaxi Formation, China. X-ray diffraction, electron microprobe, field emission scanning electron microscopy, cathodoluminescence microscopy and C-O isotope analyses confirmed that cements in the Longmaxi Formation shales are mainly composed of Fe-bearing dolomite and quartz. Fe-bearing dolomite cements concentrate around dolomite as annuli, filling micron-sized inorganic primary pores. Quartz cements in the form of nanoparicles fill primary inter-crystalline pores among clay minerals. Theoretical calculation shows that the Fe-bearing dolomite cements formed slightly earlier than the quartz cements, but both were related to diagenetic illitization of smectite. Moreover, multifractal analysis reveals that the quartz cements are more irregularly distributed in pores than the Fe-bearing dolomite cements. These results suggest that the plugging effect of the quartz cements on the primary inoraganic pore structures is the dominant factor resulting in low interconnected porosity of shales, which are unfavorable for the enrichment of shale gas.Wenda Zhou Shuyun Xie Zhengyu Bao Emmanuel John M. 4The enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP显示文摘In this paper we present the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP. eXTP is a space science mission designed to study fundamental physics under extreme conditions of density, gravity and magnetism. The mission aims at determining the equation of state of matter at supra-nuclear density, measuring effects of QED, and understanding the dynamics of matter in strong-field gravity. In addition to investigating fundamental physics, eXTP will be a very powerful observatory for astrophysics that will provide observations of unprecedented quality on a variety of galactic and extragalactic objects. 5Artificial root exudates and soil organic carbon mineralization in a degraded sandy grassland in northern China显示文摘Plant root exudates contain various organic and inorganic components that include glucose, citric and oxalic acid. These components affect rhizosphere microbial and microfaunal activities, but the mechanisms are not fully known. Studies concerned from degraded grassland ecosystems with low soil carbon(C) contents are rare, in spite of the global distribution of grasslands in need of restoration. All these have a high potential for carbon sequestration, with a reduced carbon content due to overutilization. An exudate component that rapidly decomposes will increase soil respiration and CO2 emission, while a component that reduces decomposition of native soil carbon can reduce CO2 emission and actually help sequestering carbon in soil. Therefore, to investigate root exudate effects on rhizosphere activity, citric acid, glucose and oxalic acid(0.6 g C/kg dry soil) were added to soils from three biotopes(grassland, fixed dune and mobile dune) located in Naiman, Horqin Sandy Land, Inner Mongolia, China) and subjected to a 24-day incubation experiment together with a control. The soils were also analyzed for general soil properties. The results show that total respiration without exudate addition was highest in grassland soil, intermediate in fixed dune and lowest in mobile dune soil. However, the proportion of native soil carbon mineralized was highest in mobile dune soil, reflecting the low C/N ratio found there. The exudate effects on CO2-C emissions and other variables differed somewhat between biotopes, but total respiration(including that from the added substrates) was significantly increased in all combinations compared with the control, except for oxalic acid addition to mobile dune soil, which reduced CO2-C emissions from native soil carbon. A small but statistically significant increase in pH by the exudate additions in grassland and fixed dune soil was observed, but there was a major decrease from acid additions to mobile dune soil. In contrast, electrical conductivity decreased in grassland and fixed dune soil and increased in mobile dune. Thus, discrete components of root exudates affected soil environmental conditions differently, and responses to root exudates in soils with low carbon contents can differ from those in normal soils. At home and abroad, there is still no mature theory and method used for the long-term forecast of natural precipitation at present. In the present paper the disadvantages of grey GM (1, 1) and Markov chain are ana- lyzed, and Grey-Markov forecast theory about flood is put forward and then the modifying model is developed by making prediction of Chaohu Lake basin. Hydrological law was conducted based on the theoretical forecasts by grey system GM (1, 1) forecast model with improved Markov chain. 7Diamonds Discovered from High–Cr Podiform Chromitites of Bulqiza,Eastern Mirdita Ophiolite,Albania显示文摘Various combinations of diamond, moissanite, zircon, corundum, rutile and titanitehave been recovered from the Bulqiza chromitites. More than 10 grains of diamond have been recovered, most of which are pale yellow to reddish–orange to colorless. The grains are all 100–300 μm in size and mostly anhedral, but with a range of morphologies including elongated, octahedral and subhedral varieties. Their identification was confirmed by a characteristic shift in the Raman spectra between 1325 cm^(-1) and 1333 cm^(-1), mostly at 1331.51 cm^(-1) or 1326.96 cm^(-1). This investigation extends the occurrence of diamond and moissanite to the Bulqiza chromitites in the Eastern Mirdita Ophiolite. Integration of the mineralogical, petrological and geochemical data of the Bulqiza chromitites suggests their multi–stage formation. Magnesiochromite grains and perhaps small bodies of chromitite formed at various depths in the upper mantle, and encapsulated the ultra–high pressure, highly reduced and crustal minerals. Some oceanic crustal slabs containing the magnesiochromite and their inclusion were later trapped in suprasubduction zones, where they were modified by tholeiitic and boninitic arc magmas, thus changing the magnesiochromite compositions and depositing chromitite ores in melt channels.XIONG Fahui YANG Jingsui ROBINSON Paul T. 9Toward sustainable desertification reversion:A case study in Horqin Sandy Land of northern China显示文摘Desertification reversion is an interactive process involving climate, land use change, and water processes. In order to reveal the relationship between desertification reversion and these factors, we analyzed historical data on precipitation, air temperature, desertified land changes, underground water tables, and water body changes in Naiman County in the central part of Horqin Sandy Land. Our analysis showed that during 1961-2010 the annual precipitation fluctuated dramatically and has decreased fairly consistently in recent years. The air temperature increased by 0.50-1.25 °C, and the minimum temperature increased more obviously. The desertified land area increased from 42,300 km2 in 1959 to 62,000 km2 in 1985, and then declined to about 50,000 km2 in 2010. The underground water tables have been lowered by about 10 m in the past 30 years, and declined more rapidly in recent years. Desertified land is significantly related to the amount of total cropland, and underground water tables are significantly correlated with annual precipitation and the amount of irrigated cropland. 10Carbon confinement synthesis of interlayer-expanded and sulfur-enriched MoS2+x nanocoating on hollow carbon spheres for advanced Li-S batteries显示文摘High energy density and low-cost lithium-sulfur batteries have been considered as one of the most promising candidates for next-generation energy storage systems.However,the intrinsic problems of the sulfur cathode severely restrict their further practical application.Here,a unique double-shell architecture composed of hollow carbon spheres@interlayer-expanded and sulfur-enriched MoS2+x nanocoating composite has been developed as an efficient sulfur host.A uniform precursor coating derived from heteropolyanions-induced polymerization of pyrrole leads to space confinement effect during the in-situ sulfurization process,which generates the interlayer-expanded and sulfur-enriched MoS2+x nanosheets on amorphous carbon hollow spheres.This new sulfur host possesses multifarious merits including sufficient voids for loading sulfur active materials,high electronic conductivity,and fast lithium-ion diffusive pathways.In addition,additional active edge sites of MoS2+x accompanied by the nitrogen-doped carbon species endow the sulfur host with immobilizing and catalyzing effects on the soluble polysulfide species,dramatically accelerating their conversion kinetics and re-utilization.The detailed defect-induced interface catalytic reaction mechanism is firstly proposed.As expected,the delicately-designed sulfur host exhibits an outstanding initial discharge capacity of 1,249 mAh·g^−1 at 0.2 C and a desirable rate performance(593 mAh·g^−1 at 5.0 C),implying its great prospects in achieving superior electrochemical performances for advanced lithium sulfur batteries.Wenda Li Dezhu Wang Zihao Song Zhijiang Gong Xiaosong Guo Jing Liu Zhonghua Zhang Guicun Li 2019Nano Research2019,12,11:6

12Fixed-length roof cutting with vertical hydraulic fracture based on the stress shadow effect:A case study显示文摘Pre-driven longwall retracement roadway(PLRR)is commonly used in large mine shaft.The support crushing disasters occur frequently during the retracement,and roof management is necessary.Taking the 31107 panel as research background,the roof breaking structure of PLRR is analyzed.It is concluded that the roof cutting with vertical hydraulic fracture(HF)at a specified position,that is,fixed-length roof cutting,can reduce support load and keep immediate roof intact.The extended finite element method(XFEM)is applied to simulate hydraulic fracturing.The results show that both the axial and transverse hydraulic fracturing cannot effectively create vertical HFs.Therefore,a novel construction method of vertical HF based on the stress shadow effect(SSE)is proposed.The stress reversal region and HF orientation caused by the prefabricated hydraulic fracture(PF)are verified in simulation.The sub-vertical HFs are obtained between two PFs,the vertical extension range of which is much larger than that of directional hydraulic fracturing.The new construction method was used to determine the field plan for fixed-length roof cutting.The roof formed a stable suspended structure and deformation of the main PLRR was improved after hydraulic fracturing.Feiteng Zhang Xiangyu Wang Jianbiao Bai Wenda Wu Bowen Wu Guanghui Wang 2022International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2022,32,2:4
13Topological domain states and magnetoelectric properties in multiferroic nanostructures显示文摘Multiferroic nanostructures have been attracting tremendous attention over the past decade, due to their rich cross-coupling effects and prospective electronic applications. In particular, the emergence of some exotic phenomena in size-confined multiferroic systems, including topological domain states such as vortices, center domains, and skyrmion bubble domains, has opened a new avenue to a number of intriguing physical properties and functionalities, and thus underpins a wide range of applications in future nanoelectronic devices. It is also highly appreciated that nano-domain engineering provides a pathway to control the magnetoelectric properties, which is promising for future energy-efficient spintronic devices. In recent years, this field, still in its infancy, has witnessed a rapid development and a number of challenges too.In this article, we shall review the recent advances in the emergent domain-related exotic phenomena in multiferroic nanostructures. Specific attention is paid to the topological domain structures and related novel physical behaviors as well as the electric-field-driven magnetic switching via domain engineering. 14Energy-efficient cognitive access approach to convergence communications显示文摘This article studies the cognitive access in convergence communications.Convergence communications provide upper-layer applications with uniform communication service,converging different lower-layer networks into a uniform access pattern such as all-IP communications.As an import access in convergence communications,the cognitive access provides users with a flexible and dynamic access to networks.In this article,we do not only take into account the spectrum usage of convergence communication networks,but also consider theirs energy efficiency.An energy-efficient access algorithm is proposed to improve network performance and efficiency.Different from the existing cognitive access,we regard energy efficiency as the optimal objective to turn the energy-efficient cognitive access into an optimal problem.The collision avoidance and sleeping mechanisms are used to reduce energy consumption and raise network throughput.The utility function is proposed to maximize networks’energy efficiency and then achieve the energy-efficient cognitive access.Simulation results show that the proposed approach is effective and feasible,which can significantly improve networks’energy efficiency.XU ZhengZheng QIN WenDa TANG QingYi JIANG DingDe 2014Science China(Information Sciences)2014,57,4:4
15Influence of Rare Earth Modification and Homogenization on the Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Recycled Can 3004 Aluminum显示文摘The microscopic structure of waste can aluminum material was researched by adding Al5TiB refining agent, La-Ce rare earth and mixed rare earth modifiers, and the microstructure and mechanical performance of the modified aluminum material were studied. The experimental results show that the optimal refiner addition amount is 1.1wt%; the material performance can be significantly improved when the content of La-Ce rare earth ranges to a certain degree, but the mixed rare earth barely affects the refinement effect of the aluminum. When being homogenized, the mixed rare earth plays more obvious role in refining the aluminum material than La-Ce rare earth. 17Afforestation effects on soil microbial abundance, microbial biomass carbon and enzyme activity in dunes of Horqin Sandy Land, northeastern China显示文摘In order to investigate the effects of afforestation on soil microbial abundance, microbial biomass carbon and enzyme activity in sandy dunes, 20-year-old Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica Litv. (PSM) and Populus simonii Carrière (PSC) mature forests were selected in Horqin Sandy Land, and mobile dunes was set as a control (CK). Results show that PSM and PSC plantations can improve soil physicochemical properties and significantly increase microbiological activity in mobile dunes. Soil microbial abundance, microbial biomass carbon and enzyme activity show an order of PS>PSM>CK. Total soil microbial abundance in PSM and PSC was respectively 50.16 and 72.48 times more than that in CK, and the differences were significant among PSM, PSC and CK. Soil microbial biomass carbon in PSM and PSC was respectively 23.67 and 33.34 times more than that in CK, and the difference was insignificant between PSM and PSC. Soil enzyme activity, including dehydrogenase (DEH), peroxidase (PER), protease (PRO), urease (URE) and cellobiohydrolase (CEL) in PSM and PSC were respectively 19.00 and 27.54, 4.78 and 9.89, 4.05 and 8.67, 29.93 and 37.46, and 9.66 and 13.42 times of that in CK. P. sylvestris and P. simonii can effectively improve soil physicochemical and microbiological properties in sandy dunes and fix mobile dunes in Horqin Sandy Land. 18Value of Preoperative Neutrophil-to-Lymphocyte Ratio in Predicting Prognosis of Surgically Resectable Urinary Cancers: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis显示文摘Objective Accumulated evidence has suggested that there is a close association between preoperative neutrophilto-lymphocyte ratio(NLR)and prognosis of various malignant tumors.However,the relationship between NLR and surgically resectable urinary cancers remains contradictory.Therefore,we performed this systematic review and meta-analysis to explore whether preoperative NLR could predict the prognosis of surgically resectable urinary cancers.Methods After searching the Embase,PubMed/MEDLINE and Cochrane databases and screening the articles,we finally included 25 studies involving 15950 patients.Hazard ratios(HRs)and their 95%confidence intervals(CIs)were extracted to assess the association between preoperative NLR and the overall survival(OS)and cancerspecific survival(CSS)of surgically resectable urinary cancers.Results The pooled results revealed that an elevated preoperative NLR could predict a worse OS(HR=1.40,95%CI:1.26–1.54,P<0.001)and CSS(HR=1.43,95%CI:1.27–1.59,P<0.001)in urinary cancers.In addition,our analyses also suggested that high preoperative NLR was associated with worse prognosis in renal cell carcinoma(OS:HR=2.06,95%CI:1.54–2.76,P=0.131;CSS:HR=2.46,95%CI:1.46–4.16,P=0.178),upper tract urothelial carcinoma(OS:HR=1.91,95%CI:1.50–2.42,P=0.616;CSS:HR=1.84,95%CI:1.41–2.39,P=0.001),bladder cancer(OS:HR=1.09,95%CI:1.02–1.17,P<0.001;CSS:HR=1.05,95%CI:1.01–1.09,P=0.163)and prostate cancer(OS:HR=1.69,95%CI:1.19–2.41,P=0.714).Regardless of the participants’race or the cutoff value of the preoperative NLR,the results remained valid.Conclusion Elevated preoperative NLR could predict a worse prognosis in surgically resectable urinary cancers,namely,renal cell carcinoma,bladder cancer,prostate cancer and upper tract urothelial carcinoma.Zhan Wang Xu Wang Wenda Wang Guoyang Zheng Hao Guo Yushi Zhang 2020Chinese Medical Sciences Journal2020,35,3:2
19Terminal sulfur atoms formation via defect engineering strategy to promote the conversion of lithium polysulfides显示文摘The defect engineering shows great potential in boosting the conversion of lithium polysulfides intermediates for high energy density lithium-sulfur batteries(LSBs),yet the catalytic mechanisms remain unclear.Herein,the oxygen-defective Li_(4)Ti_(5)O_(12)-xhollow microspheres uniformly encapsulated by N-doped carbon layer(OD-LTO@NC)is delicately designed as an intrinsically polar inorganic sulfur host for the research on the catalytic mechanism.Theoretical simulations have demonstrated that the existence of oxygen deficiencies enhances the adsorption capability of spinel Li_(4)Ti_(5)O_(12)towards soluble lithium polysulfides.Some-S-S-bonds of the Li2S6on the defective Li_(4)Ti_(5)O_(12)surface are fractured by the strong adsorption force,which allows the inert bridging sulfur atoms to be converted into the susceptible terminal sulfur atoms,and reduces the activation energy of the polysulfide conversion in some degree.In addition,with the N-doped carbon layer,secondary hollow microspheres architecture built with primary ultrathin nanosheets provide a large amount of void space and active sites for sulfur storage,adsorption and conversion.The as-designed sulfur host exhibits a remarkable rate capability of 547 m Ah g^(-1)at 4C(1 C=1675 m A g^(-1))and an outstanding long-term cyclability(519 m Ah g^(-1)after 1000 cycles at 3 C).Besides,a high specific capacity of 832 m Ah g^(-1)is delivered even after 100 cycles under a high sulfur mass loading of 3.2 mg cm^(-2),indicating its superior electrochemical performances.This work not only provides a strong proof for the application of oxygen defect in the adsorption and catalytic conversion of lithium polysulfides,but offers a promising avenue to achieve high performance LSBs with the material design concept of incorporating oxygen-deficient spinel structure with hierarchical hollow frameworks.Yuanchang Li Wenda Li Xiujuan Yan Zhenfang Zhou Xiaosong Guo Jing Liu Changming Mao Zhonghua Zhang Guicun Li 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,8:2
20Transient tribo-dynamic analysis of crosshead slipper in lowspeed marine diesel engines during engine startup显示文摘A crosshead slipper-guide system,which bears a significant thrust force,is an essential friction pair in low-speed marine diesel engines.Owing to the low moving speed of the crosshead slipper during engine startup,it is difficult to form good hydrodynamic lubrication between the crosshead slipper and guide.Therefore,a detailed analysis of the crosshead slipper during engine startup is needed.In this study,a new transient tribo-dynamic model for a crosshead slipper during the engine startup process is presented.The model consists of a mixed lubrication model of the crosshead slipper-guide and dynamic models of the piston assembly,crosshead assembly,connecting rod,and crankshaft.The tribo-dynamic performances of the crosshead slipper during startup and under the rated conditions were simulated and compared.The results show that the tribo-dynamics of the crosshead slipper during the startup process are significantly different from those under the rated conditions.Some measures beneficial for the low friction of a crosshead slipper-guide under the rated conditions may significantly increase the friction loss of the crosshead slipper-guide system during the startup process.Rui LI Xianghui MENG Jingjin DONG Wenda LI 2021Friction2021,9,6:2
