| 1 | High-precision measurement of mercury isotope ratios of atmospheric deposition over the past 150 years recorded in a peat core taken from Hongyuan, Sichuan Province, China显示文摘High-precision 210Pb dating technology was applied to a peat core with a time span of about 150 years that was taken from Hongyuan, Sichuan Province, China. The concentrations of total mercury (Hg) and stable isotope compositions of mercury in the peat core were measured using a LUMEX 915 instrument and multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer, respectively. Total mercury (Hg) concentrations in the peat core had a clearly increasing trend from the bottom to top of the core while δ 202Hg values (relative to NIST 3133) of peat had a decreasing trend. The total mercury (Hg) concentration varied from 16.7 to 101.3 ng/g and the δ 202Hg values ranged from –0.44‰± 0.14‰ to –1.45‰± 0.22‰. | 2 | Viral MIPα homologous with human MIP-1α acts on HIV co-receptor CCR5显示文摘The function and usage of vMIPα encoded by K6 gene of herpesvirus 8 (HHV8) which has homology with human macrophage protein (MIP) have not been clearly known. In the present note the K6 gene of HHV8 was cloned and transfected into NIH3T3 cells and E. coli cells. Conditional media from the 3T3-transfected cells and K6 product vMIPa from E. coli. Cells were used to perform the experiments of ligand-receptor binding and cellular adhesion with peripheral blood macrophages. The conditional media and the purified vMIPa from E. coli could compete to bind to CCR5 located on macrophages from peripheral blood with I125-hMIP-1α chemokine of human. Cellular adhesion showed that the conditional media from transfected cells and the purified vMIPa did not induce the adhesion of macrophages from peripheral blood to ICAM-1. In conclusion, vMIPα encoded by K6 gene of HHV8 can bind to CCR5 of peripheral blood macrophage cells and does not induce their adhesion. | 6 | Robust hydrogen production from HCOOH over amino-modified KIT-6-confined Pd Ir alloy nanoparticles显示文摘Formic acid (FA), which can be produced via CO_(2) reduction and biomass conversion, has received extensive interest as a convenient and safe hydrogen carrier due to its wide range of sources, renewable, high hydrogen content (4.4 wt%), and convenient storage/transportation. Designing highly efficient catalysts is the main challenge to realize the hydrogen production from FA. In this work, well-dispersed and electron-rich PdIr alloy nanoparticles with a size of 1.8 nm are confined in amino-modified 3D mesoporous silica KIT-6 and applied as a highly efficient catalyst for robust hydrogen production from FA at ambient temperature. Small PdIr alloy nanoparticles confined by amino-modified KIT-6 (PdIr/KIT-6-NH_(2)) lead to better catalytic activity compared to that of Pd/KIT-6-NH_(2) and PdIr confined by bare KIT-6, achieving a high turnover frequency (TOF) value of 3533 h-1 at ambient temperature (303 K), 100% H_(2) selectivity and conversion toward the dehydrogenation of FA, which is comparable to the best heterogeneous catalysts ever reported. | 17 | Microbiological quality of roof tank water in an urban village in southeastern China显示文摘Urban villages are unique residential neighborhoods in urban areas in China. Roof tanks are their main form of water supply, and water quality deterioration might occur in this system because of poor hygienic conditions and maintenance. In this study, water samples were seasonally collected from an urban village to investigate the influence of roof tanks as an additional water storage device on the variation in the microbial community structure and pathogenic gene markers. Water stagnation in the roof tank induced significant decreases in chlorine(p < 0.05), residual chlorine was as low as 0.02 mg/L in spring. Propidium monoazide(PMA)-qPCR revealed a one-magnitude higher level of total viable bacterial concentration in roof tank water samples(2.14 ± 1.81 × 105gene copies/mL) than that in input water samples(3.57 ± 2.90 × 104gene copies/mL, p < 0.05), especially in spring and summer. In addition,pathogenic fungi, Mycobacterium spp., and Legionella spp. were frequently detected in the roof tanks. Terminal users might be exposed to higher microbial risk induced by high abundance of Legionella gene marker. Spearman’s rank correlation and redundancy analysis showed that residual chlorine was the driving force that promoted bacterial colonization and shaped the microbial community. It is worth noted that the sediment in the pipe will be agitated when the water supply is restored after the water outages, which can trigger an increase in turbidity and bacterial biomass. | 18 | N,N-Dimethyl fluorosulfonamide for suppressed aluminum corrosion in lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide-based electrolytes显示文摘Effective passivation of aluminum(Al)current collector at high potentials(>4.0 V vs.Li/Li^(+))is of essence for the long-term operation of lithium-based batteries.Unfortunately,the non-aqueous liquid electrolytes comprising lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide(LiTFSI)and organic carbonates are corrosive toward Al current collector at high potentials(>4.0 V vs.Li/Li^(+)),despite their intriguing features(e.g.,good chemical stability and high ionic conductivity).Herein,we propose the utilization of N,N-dimethyl fluorosulfonamide(DMFSA)as electrolyte solvent for suppressing Al corrosion in the LiTFSI-based electrolytes.It has been demonstrated that the electrolyte of 1.0 M LiTFSI-DMFSA shows decent ionic conductivities(1.76 mS·cm^(−1)at 25℃)with good fluidities(2.44 cP at 25℃).In particular,the replacement of organic carbonates(e.g.,ethylene carbonate and ethyl methyl carbonate)with DMFSA leads to significant suppressed Al corrosion.Morphological and compositional characterizations utilizing scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)reveal that DMFSA favors the formation of insoluble species(i.e.,aluminum fluoride(AlF_(3)))on the surface of Al electrode,which effectively inhibits continuous exposure of fresh Al surface to electrolyte during cycling.This work provides not only a deeper understanding on the Al corrosion in LiTFSI-based electrolyte but also an elegant path to stabilize the Al current collector at high potentials(>4.0 V vs.Li/Li^(+)),which may give an impetus into the development of lithium-based batteries. | Hao Wu Ziyu Song Xingxing Wang Wenfang Feng Zhibin Zhou Heng Zhang | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,6: | 0 |
| 19 | Catalyst Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition of Nano-Particle Nickel Films on Teflon Surface显示文摘Films formed with nanosized nickel particles on teflon surface were prepared by means of catalyst enhanced chemical vapor deposition (CECVD) with Ni(dmg)2, Ni(acac)2, Ni(hfac)2, Ni(TMHD)2, and Ni(cp)2 as precursors, and complexes Pd(hfac)2, PdCl2 and Pd(η3-2-methylallyl)acac as catalyst under carrier gas (H2). The film growth rate depends on the precursors and substrate temperature. The chemical value, purity and surface morphology of the Ni particle films were characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The films obtained were shiny with silvery color, and consisted of grains with a particle size of 50-140 nm. The Ni was metallic of which the purity was about 90%-95% from XPS analysis. | 20 | A hybrid network integrating convolution and transformer for thymoma segmentation显示文摘Background Manual segmentation of thymoma is an onerous,labor-intensive,and subjective task for radiologists.Accordingly,the development of an automatic and efficient method for thymoma segmentation can be valuable for the early detection and diagnosis of this malignancy.Methods Three hundred and ten subjects were enrolled in this retrospective study and all underwent CECT scans.All the scans were manually labeled by four experienced radiologists.The successful application of convolution neural networks(CNNs)and Transformer in computer vision led us to propose a hybrid CNN–Transformer architecture,named transformer attention Net(TA-Net),that would allow the utilization of both local information from CNN features and the global information encoded by Transformers.U-Net was used as the basic structure and Transformers were inserted into convolution blocks in the encoder.In addition,attention gates were embedded in skip connections to highlight salient features.Comparison of the accuracy,intersection over Union(IoU),Dice score,and Boundary F1 contour matching score(BFScore)between the predicted segmentation and the manual labels were utilized to evaluate segmentation performance.Results For thymoma segmentation using TA-Net,the accuracy,Dice score,IoU,and BFScore were 92.49%,89.92%,83.80%,and 0.8945,respectively,and no significant differences were detected among tumor types and enhanced phases.Our proposed method achieved the best performance when compared with state-of-the-art methods.Conclusion The proposed method,which combines CNNs with Transformer,achives outstanding performance in thymoma segmentation compared with previous methods.TA-Net may provide consistent and reproducible delineation,thereby assisting radiologists in clinical applications. | Jingyuan Li Wenfang Sun Xiulong Feng Karen Mvon Deneen Wen Wang Guangbin Cui Yi Zhang | 2023 | Intelligent Medicine2023,3,3: | 0 |
