1Enhanced vasoconstriction to α_1 adrenoceptor autoantibody in spontaneously hypertensive rats显示文摘Autoimmune activities have been implicated in the pathogenesis of hypertension.High levels of autoantibodies against the second extracellular loop of α1-adrenoceptor(α1-AR autoantibody,α1-AA) are found in patients with hypertension,and α1-AA could exert a α1-AR agonist-like vasoconstrictive effect.However,whether the vasoconstrictive effect of α1-AA is enhanced in hypertension is unknown.Using aortic rings of spontaneously hypertensive rats(SHR) and normotensive Wistar-Kyoto(WKY) rats,we observed the vasoconstrictive responses to α1-AA with phenylephrine(α1-AR agonist) as a positive control drug.Aortic nitrotyrosine levels were also measured by ELISA and immunohistochemistry.The results showed that the aortic constrictive responses to α1-AA and phenylephrine(both 1 nmol L-1-10 μmol L-1) were greater in SHR than in WKY rats.Endothelial denudation or L-NAME(a non-selective NOS inhibitor)(100 μmol L-1) increased α1-AA- or phenylephrine-induced vasoconstrictions both in SHR and WKY.However,selective iNOS inhibitor 1400W(10 μmol L-1) enhanced the α1-AA-induced aortic constriction in WKY,but not in SHR.The aortic nitrotyrosine level was significantly higher in SHR than WKY,as shown by both ELISA and immunohistochemistry.These results indicate that the vasoconstrictive response to α1-AA is enhanced in SHR,and this altered responsiveness is due to endothelial dysfunction and decreased NO bioavailability.The study suggests an important role of α1-AR autoimmunity in the pathogenesis and management of hypertension especially in those harboring high α1-AA levels.YAN Li TAN XiaoQiu CHEN WenXuan ZHU Hong CAO JiMin LIU HuiRong 2014Science China(Life Sciences)2014,57,7:10
2Detection of water in petroleum inclusions and its implications显示文摘FTIR spectra of inclusions sampled from fault-zone reservoirs of the northwestern Junggar Basin show that water, with different abundances, does exist in petroleum inclusions. It is thus implied that petroleum inclusions can seldom form without water. Different inclusions hosted in one single grain, and formed in one oil charging phase, have a largely varied ratio of water to oil and slightly changed CH3/CH2 ratio. 3Biomarker geochemistry of marine organic matter in the Hushan and Chaohu areas,Lower Yangtze region显示文摘Marine strata are widely exposed in the Hushan and Chaohu areas, Lower Yangtze region. As biomarker geochemistry of the strata has not been well documented, this paper deals with the biomarker composition of representative samples collected from the Silurian, Carboniferous and Triassic systems and their geological implications, thus providing clues to marine organic matter. On the basis of experimental results, it is shown that abundant biomarkers (e.g. n-alkanes, isoprenoids, terpanes and steranes) were detected. As organic matter in the strata is highly to over mature in general based on petrologic microobservation, some biomarkers (mainly n-alkanes) except terpanes and steranes cannot reflect the source, depositional environment and maturity of organic matter. Thus, primarily based on analyses of the terpanes and steranes, it is suggested that organic matter in the Silurian and Carboniferous strata is derived mainly from lower organisms, while higher plants are predominant in the Triassic organic matter. This further indicates that the depositional environment may have transformed from the marine to continental facies in the Late Triassic. These results provide new evidence for the study of regional depositional evolution, and have enriched the study of biological composition of organic matter. 4Ichthyoplankton recruitment from mainstream of the Changjiang River into the Dongting Lake, the second largest freshwater lake in China显示文摘Floodplains are important and distinctive ecosystems around the world,and the recruitment of ichthyoplankton from river to floodplain lakes is crucial to maintain this unique ecosystem.However,this process has not been well documented.In this study,ichthyoplankton were sampled to investigate the details of ichthyoplankton recruitment from the Changjiang(Yangtze)River to the Dongting Lake via a floodway channel,the Songzi River,from May to July in 2013 and 2014.During the study period,41 species of eggs and larvae were sampled.Among the samples,16 were river-lake migratory species(RL),representing 23.5%of the species in the Dongting Lake.In 2013,an estimated 130 million eggs and 3180 million larvae drifted through the sampling section,and in 2014,an estimated 1 060 million eggs and 1040 million larvae drifted through the sampling section.The amount of eggs and larvae of RL reached 3 210 million in 2013 and 1 850 million in 2014,respectively.These results demonstrated the importance of ichthyoplankton recruitment from the river to the lake,as species diversity will decrease sharply without this recruitment.Canonical correspondence analysis(CCA)showed that water temperature and water flow are the two most important factors influencing the spawning activities of fish.To maintain the high fish diversity in the Changjiang floodplain,we suggest to irrigate the channel to increase water discharge and increase the transport of ichthyoplankton from the Changjiang mainstream into the Dongting Lake.MA Qin LI Mingzheng QIN Xiangchao LIU Huanzhang CAO Wenxuan 2019Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2019,37,3:2

9Mechanisms of allicin exposure for the sludge fermentation enhancement:Focusing on the fermentation processes and microbial metabolic traits显示文摘As a frequently used product with antimicrobial activity,consumed allicin might be dis-charged and concentrated in waste-activated sludge(WAS).However,the influence of al-licin(as an exogenous pollutant)on WAS fermentation has not been clearly revealed.This study aimed to disclose the impacts of allicin on volatile fatty acid(VFA)generation dur-ing WAS fermentation.The results showed that the appropriate presence of allicin(10 mg/g TSS)significantly enhanced the VFA yield(1894 versus 575 mg COD/L in the control)with increased acetate proportion(24.3%).Further exploration found that allicin promoted WAS solubilization,hydrolysis and acidification simultaneously.Metagenomic analysis revealed that the key genes involved in extracellular hydrolysis metabolism(i.e.,CAZymes),mem-brane transport(i.e.,gtsA and ytfT),substrate metabolism(i.e.,yhdR and pfkC)and fatty acid synthesis(i.e.,accA and accD)were all highly expressed.Allicin also induced the bacteria to produce more signalling molecules and regulate cellular functions,thereby enhancing the microbial adaptive and regulatory capacity to the unfavourable environment.Moreover,the variations in fermentative microbes and their contributions to the upregulation of func-tional genes(i.e.,ytfR,gltL,INV,iolD and pflD)for VFA generation were disclosed.Overall,the simultaneous stimulation of functional microbial abundances and metabolic activities contributed to VFA production in allicin-conditioned reactors.Feng Wang Jingyang Luo Shiyu Fang Wenxuan Huang Yunqi Zhang Le Zhang Xiaoshi Cheng Wei Du Fang Fang Jiashun Cao Yang Wu 2022Journal of Environmental Sciences2022,34,5:1

18Eupalinolide B inhibits hepatic carcinoma by inducing ferroptosis and ROS-ER-JNK pathway显示文摘Primary hepatic carcinoma is a common malignant tumor.The classic molecular targeted drug sorafenib is costly and is only effective for some patients.Therefore,it is of great clinical significance to search for new molecular targeted drugs.Eupalinolide B(EB)from Eupatorium lindleyanum DC.is used to treat chronic tracheitis in clinical practice.However,the role of EB in hepatic carcinoma is unknown.In this study,we first measure the effect of EB on tumor growth in a xenograft model and PDX model.The cell proliferation and migration are also detected in human hepatocarcinoma cell lines(SMMC-7721 and HCCLM3).Then,we investigate cell cycle,cell apoptosis,cell necrosis,cell autophagy,and ferroptosis by flow cytometry,western blot analysis and electron microscopy.The results demonstrate that EB exerts anti-proliferative activity in hepatic carcinoma by blocking cell cycle arrest at S phase and inducing ferroptosis mediated by endoplasmic reticulum(ER)stress,as well as HO-1 activation.When HO-1 is inhibited,EB-induced cell death and ER protein expression are rescued.The migration-related mechanism consists of activation of the ROS-ER-JNK signaling pathway and is not connected to ferroptosis.In summary,we first discover that EB inhibits cell proliferation and migration in hepatic carcinoma,and thus EB is a promising anti-tumor compound that can be used for hepatic carcinoma.Yonghui Zhang Haoyang Zhang Jinage Mu Meiyue Han Zhihao Cao Feng Dong Tingting Wang Lian Pan Wujing Luo Jiaxin Li Huan Liu Lishan Jin Wenxuan Ding Yong Wei Xuesong Deng Dan Liu Xiuzhen He Yi Pang Xiao Mu Zhongjun Wu Dilong Chen 2022Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2022,54,7:1
19New insights into different surfactants’impacts on sludge fermentation:Focusing on the particular metabolic processes and microbial genetic traits显示文摘Surfactants were expected to exhibit positive effects on the waste activated sludge(WAS)disposal.However,the systematic comparison of different categories of surfactants on the WAS fermentation and the functional mechanisms,especially microbial metabolic traits,have not yet been precisely explored.This study revealed the positive effects of different surfactants on the volatile fatty acid(VFA)production,which followed the order of alkyl polysaccharides(APG)>sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate(SDBS)>hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide(HTAB).Mechanistic exploration found that the presence of different surfactants improved solubilization and hydrolysis steps,and then contributed to the subsequent acidification with different efficiencies.The functional microorganisms associated with VFA generation were enriched in surfactant-conditioned reactors.Metagenomic analysis further indicated that the key genes involved in the particular process of VFA generation were over-expressed.The simultaneous bioavailable substrate improvement,functional bacterial enrichment,and metabolic activity upregulation induced by different surfactants jointly contributed to VFA promotion during WAS fermentation.This study could provide a comprehensive realization of surfactants’impacts on theWAS fermentation process,and more importantly,it reminded the public to discern the distinct interplaying effects induced by different chemicals in regulating the WAS disposal and resource recovery.Jingyang Luo Shiyu Fang Wenxuan Huang Feng Wang Le Zhang Fang Fang Jiashun Cao Yang Wu Dongbo Wang 2022Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2022,16,8:1
