| 1 | GeoChip-based analysis of the microbial community functional structures in simultaneous desulfurization and denitrification process显示文摘The elemental sulfur(S0) recovery was evaluated in the presence of nitrate in two development models of simultaneous desulfurization and denitrification(SDD) process. At the loading rates of 0.9 kg S/(m3·day) for sulfide and 0.4 kg N/(m3·day) for nitrate, S0 conversion rate was 91.1% in denitrifying sulfide removal(DSR) model which was higher than in integrated simultaneous desulfurization and denitrification(ISDD) model(25.6%). A comprehensive analysis of functional diversity, structure and metabolic potential of microbial communities was examined in two models by using functional gene array(GeoChip 2.0). GeoChip data indicated that diversity indices, community structure, and abundance of functional genes were distinct between two models. Diversity indices(Simpson's diversity index(1/D) and Shannon–Weaver index(H′)) of all detected genes showed that with elevated influent loading rate, the functional diversity decreased in ISDD model but increased in DSR model. In contrast to ISDD model, the overall abundance of dsr genes was lower in DSR model, while some functional genes targeting from nitrate-reducing sulfide-oxidizing bacteria(NR-SOB), such as Thiobacillus denitrificans, Sulfurimonas denitrificans, and Paracoccus pantotrophus were more abundant in DSR model which were highly associated with the change of S0 conversion rate obtained in two models. | 2 | Image Dehazing by Incorporating Markov Random Field with Dark Channel Prior显示文摘As one of the most simple and effective single image dehazing methods, the dark channel prior(DCP) algorithm has been widely applied. However, the algorithm does not work for pixels similar to airlight(e.g., snowy ground or a white wall), resulting in underestimation of the transmittance of some local scenes. To address that problem, we propose an image dehazing method by incorporating Markov random field(MRF) with the DCP. The DCP explicitly represents the input image observation in the MRF model obtained by the transmittance map. The key idea is that the sparsely distributed wrongly estimated transmittance can be corrected by properly characterizing the spatial dependencies between the neighboring pixels of the transmittances that are well estimated and those that are wrongly estimated. To that purpose, the energy function of the MRF model is designed. The estimation of the initial transmittance map is pixel-based using the DCP, and the segmentation on the transmittance map is employed to separate the foreground and background, thereby avoiding the block effect and artifacts at the depth discontinuity. Given the limited number of labels obtained by clustering, the smoothing term in the MRF model can properly smooth the transmittance map without an extra refinement filter. | 3 | Enhancement of photocatalytic efficiency by in situ fabrication of BiOBr/BiVO_4 surface junctions显示文摘Surface junctions between Bi OBr and BiVO_4 were synthesized. The BiOBr/BiVO_4 with 1 wt.%of Bi OBr exhibited the highest photocatalytic activity in the degradation of Rh B under visible-light irradiation. It was found that the highly efficient adsorption of Rh B molecules via the electrostatic attraction between Br-and cationic \N(Et)_2 group played a key role for the high photocatalytic activities of BiOBr/BiVO_4. This efficient adsorption promoted the N-deethylation of Rh B and thus accelerated the photocatalytic degradation of Rh B.Moreover, the metal-to-metal charge transfer(MMCT) mechanism was proposed, which revealed the concrete path paved with Bi–O–Bi chains for the carrier migration in BiOBr/BiVO_4. The interaction between photoexcited Rh B* and the Bi^(3+) in BiVO_4 provided the driving force for the migration of photo-generated carriers along the Bi–O–Bi chains. | 7 | Mixed secondary chromatin structure revealed by modeling radiation-induced DNA fragment length distribution显示文摘Spatial chromatin structure plays fundamental roles in many vital biological processes including DNA replication, transcription,damage and repair. However, the current understanding of the secondary structure of chromatin formed by local nucleosomenucleosome interactions remains controversial, especially for the existence and conformation of 30 nm structure. Since chromatin structure influences the fragment length distribution(FLD) of ionizing radiation-induced DNA strand breaks, a 3D chromatin model fitting FLD patterns can help to distinguish different models of chromatin structure. Here, we developed a novel '30-C' model combining 30 nm chromatin structure models with Hi-C data, which measured the spatial contact frequency between different loci in the genome. We first reconstructed the 3D coordinates of the 25 kb bins from Hi-C heatmaps. Within the25 kb bins, lower level chromatin structures supported by recent studies were filled. Simulated FLD patterns based on the 30-C model were compared to published FLD patterns induced by heavy ion radiation to validate the models. | 19 | 中国植物叶片硫含量的空间变异与适应机制显示文摘硫是植物生长发育和形态建成所必需的营养元素之一,并在其非生物胁迫抗性和环境适应等方面发挥着重要作用。因此,揭示植物叶片硫含量(leaf sulfur content,LSC)的空间变异规律和适应机制,将有助于我们进一步了解植物的进化机制以及功能元素利用策略。本研究采用统一的采样流程和测试方法,构建了中国80个典型生态系统(包括31个森林、38个草原和11个荒漠)、2207种植物叶片硫含量的实测数据库,系统地评估了不同植物生长型(PGFs)和生态系统之间LSC的差异,并探讨了LSC的空间变异规律及其主要环境驱动因素。研究结果表明:(1)中国区域自然植被LSC的变化范围为0.15–48.64 g·kg^(-1),平均值为2.13±0.04 g·kg^(-1)。(2)LSC在不同生态系统和植被类型之间存在显著的空间变异特征。尤其发现干旱地区或草本植物的LSC较高。叶片在干旱、低温和强紫外线辐射环境中倾向于积累更多的硫,可能是植物增强胁迫生境抗逆性的重要途径。(3)温度、降水、辐射、土壤硫含量和干旱的交互作用共同调控着LSC,并解释了其79%的空间变异;而系统发育对LSC空间变异没有显著影响。本研究从中国区域尺度揭示了LSC的空间变异规律,证实LSC在植物应对极端环境的重要作用及其机制,拓展了人们对硫的生物功能的认识。 | Wenzong Zhao Chunwang Xiao Mingxu Li Li Xu Nianpeng He | 2022 | Journal of Plant Ecology2022,15,4: | 1 |
