1Analysis of genetic architecture and favorable allele usage of agronomic traits in a large collection of Chinese rice accessions显示文摘Genotyping and phenotyping large natural populations provide opportunities for population genomic analysis and genome-wide association studies(GWAS). Several rice populations have been re-sequenced in the past decade;however, many major Chinese rice cultivars were not included in these studies. Here, we report large-scale genomic and phenotypic datasets for a collection mainly comprised of 1,275 rice accessions of widely planted cultivars and parental hybrid rice lines from China. The population was divided into three indica/Xian and three japonica/Geng phylogenetic subgroups that correlate strongly with their geographic or breeding origins. We acquired a total of 146 phenotypic datasets for 29 agronomic traits under multi-environments for different subpopulations. With GWAS, we identified a total of 143 significant association loci, including three newly identified candidate genes or alleles that control heading date or amylose content. Our genotypic analysis of agronomically important genes in the population revealed that many favorable alleles are underused in elite accessions, suggesting they may be used to provide improvements in future breeding efforts. 2Comparative genomic and transcriptomic analyses uncover the molecular basis of high nitrogen-use efficiency in the wheat cultivar Kenong 9204显示文摘Studying the regulatory mechanisms that drive nitrogen-use efficiency(NUE)in crops is important for sustainable agriculture and environmental protection.In this study,we generated a high-quality genome assembly for the high-NUE wheat cultivar Kenong 9204 and systematically analyzed genes related to nitrogen uptake and metabolism.By comparative analyses,we found that the high-affinity nitrate transporter gene family had expanded in Triticeae.Further studies showed that subsequent functional differentiation endowed the expanded family members with saline inducibility,providing a genetic basis for improving the adaptability of wheat to nitrogen deficiency in various habitats.To explore the genetic and molecular mechanisms of high NUE,we compared genomic and transcriptomic data from the high-NUE cultivar Kenong 9204(KN9204)and the low-NUE cultivar Jing 411 and quantified their nitrogen accumulation under high-and low-nitrogen conditions.Compared with Jing 411,KN9204 absorbed significantly more nitrogen at the reproductive stage after shooting and accumulated it in the shoots and seeds.Transcriptome data analysis revealed that nitrogen deficiency clearly suppressed the expression of genes related to cell division in the young spike of Jing 411,whereas this suppression of gene expression was much lower in KN9204.In addition,KN9204 maintained relatively high expression of NPF genes for a longer time than Jing 411 during seed maturity.Physiological and transcriptome data revealed that KN9204 was more tolerant of nitrogen deficiency than Jing 411,especially at the reproductive stage.The high NUE of KN9204 is an integrated effect controlled at different levels.Taken together,our data provide new insights into the molecular mechanisms of NUE and important gene resources for improving wheat cultivars with a higher NUE trait.Xiaoli Shi Fa Cui Xinyin Han Yilin He Long Zhao Na Zhang Hao Zhang Haidong Zhu Zhexin Liu Bin Ma Shusong Zheng Wei Zhang Jiajia Liu Xiaoli Fan Yaoqi Si Shuiquan Tian Jianqing Niu Huilan Wu Xuemei Liu Zhuo Chen Deyuan Meng Xiaoyan Wang Liqiang Song Lijing Sun Jie Han Hui Zhao Jun Ji Zhiguo Wang Xiaoyu He Ruilin Li Xuebin Chi Chengzhi Liang Beifang Niu Jun Xiao Junming Li Hong-Qing Ling 2022Molecular Plant2022,15,9:6

4Recent Geochemical Variation of the Hot-Spring Gases from the Tianchi Volcano, Changbai Mountains, Northeast China显示文摘Recent fluid monitoring work shows that the contents of mantle-derived CO_2,He and CH_4 increased anomalously in 2002 and 2003. The 3He/4He ratio of the deep-fault-type Jinjiang hot springs increased highly anomalously in 2003, and then decreased in 2004. The 3He/4He ratio from the thermal-reservoir-type Changbaijulong hot springs increased slowly in 2003, and the increase continued in 2004. The mantle-derived He content of the He released from the Changbaijulong springs increased obviously in 2004. The anomaly of the released gases and the isotopic He was consistent with the trends of seismic activities in the Tianchi volcanic area between 2002 and 2004. The abnormal release of the Jinjiang hot springs apparently decreased after the seismic activities ceased in the second half of 2004, while the abnormal release from the Changbaijulong increased significantly after these seismic activities. It shows that the abnormal release of magmas-derived gases from the thermal-reservoir-type springs lags behind that of the deep-fault-type springs. 5Filling Pattern of Volcanostratigraphy of Cenozoic Volcanic Rocks in the Changbaishan Area and Possible Future Eruptions显示文摘The Cenozoic volcanostratigraphy in the Changbaishan area had complex building processes.Twenty-two eruption periods have been determined from the Wangtian'e, Touxi, and Changbaishan volcanoes. The complex volcanostratigraphy of the Changbaishan area can be divided into four types of filling patterns from bottom to top. They are lava flows filling in valleys(LFFV), lava flows filling in platform(LFFP), lava flows formed the cone(LFFC), and pyroclastic Flow filling in crater or valleys(PFFC/V). LFFV has been divided into four layers and terminates as a lateral overlap. The topography of LFFV, which is controlled by the landform, is lens shaped with a wide flat top and narrow bottom.LFFP has been divided into three layers and terminates as a lateral downlap. The topography of LFFP is sheet and tabular shaped with a narrow top and wide bottom. It has large width to thickness ratio. It was built by multiple eruptive centers distributed along the fissure. The topography of LFFC, which is located above the LFFP, has a hummocky shape with a narrow sloping top and a wide flat bottom. It terminates as a later downlap or backstepping. It has large width to thickness ratio. It was built by a single eruptive center. The topography of PFFC/V, which located above the LFFC, LFFP, or valley, has the shape of fan and terminates as a lateral downlap or overlap. It has a small width to thickness ratio and was built by a single eruptive center. The filling pattern is controlled by temperature, SiO_2 content,volatile content, magma volume, and the paleolandform. In the short term, the eruptive production of the Changbaishan area is comenditic ash or pumice of a Plinian type eruption. 6Insights into the electrochemical degradation of sulfamethoxazole and its metabolite by Ti/SnO_(2)-Sb/Er-PbO_(2) anode显示文摘Electrochemical degradation of sulfamethoxazole(SMX)and its metabolite acetyl-sulfamethoxazole(AcSMX)by Ti/SnO_(2)-Sb/Er-PbO_(2) were investigated.Results indicated that the electrochemical degradation of SMX and Ac-SMX followed pseudo-first-order kinetics.The rate constants of SMX and Ac-SMX were 0.268 and 0.072 min-1 at optimal curre nt density of 10 and 14 mA/cm^(2),respectively.Transformation products of SMX and Ac-SMX were identified and the possible degradation pathways,including the cleavage of S-N bond,opening ring of isoxazole and nitration of amino group,were proposed.Total organic carbon removal of SMX was nearly 63.2%after 3 h electrochemical degradation.22.4%nitrogen of SMX was trans formed to NO_(3)-,and 98.8%sulfur of SMX was released as SO_(4)2-.According to quantitative structureactivity relationship model,toxicities of SMX and Ac-SMX to aquatic organisms significantly decreased after electrochemical degradation.Electric energy consumption for 90%SMX and Ac-SMX degradation was determined to be 0.58-8.97 and 6.88-44.19 Wh/L at different experimental conditions,respectively.Compared with parent compound SMX,the metabolite Ac-SMX is more refractory and toxic,which emphasizes the importance of taking its metabolites into account when investigating the disposal of pharmaceuticals from wastewater.Yanping Wang Chengzhi Zhou Jinhua Wu Junfeng Niu 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,10:3
7A new method for optimal FTU placement in distribution network under consideration of power service reliability显示文摘Modern distribution network with high penetration of intermittent renewable sources and the so-called prosumers requires more reliable distribution automation(DA) system for safe operation and control. The design of optimal feeder terminal units(FTU)placement is critical and economical for the effective DA application. Previously proposed solutions of optimal FTU placement aiming to ensure the accuracy of state estimation(SE), typically include the following two main shortcomings: 1) only to obtain the optimal FTU placement in quantity, and the analysis of FTU location is not considered yet; 2) few consider the uncertainty of intermittent power injections in the analysis of state estimation. In this paper, a modified methodology of FTU placement is proposed not only aiming to ensure the accuracy of state estimation with the minimum number of meters, but also finding those specific FTU locations to guarantee the power service reliability. Moreover, the uncertainty models of those intermittent power injections are also considered by using probability density function(PDF). The resultant optimization problem is addressed by using the covariance matrix adaptation evolution strategy(CMA-ES). 9Modeling the multi-level plumbing system of the Changbaishan caldera from geochemical, mineralogical, Sr-Nd isotopic and integrated geophysical data显示文摘Changbaishan,an intraplate volcano,is characterized by an approximately 6 km wide summit caldera and last erupted in 1903.Changbaishan experienced a period of unrest between 2002 and 2006.The activity developed in three main stages,including shield volcano(basalts),cone-construction(trachyandesites to trachytes with minor basalts),and caldera-forming stages(trachytes to comendites).This last stage is associated with one of the more energetic eruptions of the last millennium on Earth,the 946 CE,VEI 7 Millennium Eruption(ME),which emitted over 100 km^(3) of pyroclastics.Compared to other active calderas,the plumbing system of Changbaishan and its evolution mechanisms remain poorly constrained.Here,we merge new whole-rock,glass,mineral,isotopic,and geobarometry data with geophysical data and present a model of the plumbing system.The results show that the volcano is characterized by at least three main magma reservoirs at different depths:a basaltic reservoir at the Moho/lower crust depth,an intermediate reservoir at 10-15 km depth,and a shallower reservoir at 0.5-3 km depth.The shallower reservoir was involved in the ME eruption,which was triggered by a fresh trachytic melt entering a shallower reservoir where a comenditic magma was stored.The trachytes and comendites originate from fractional crystallization processes and minor assimilation of upper crust material,while the less evolved melts assimilate lower crust material.Syn-eruptive magma mingling occurred during the ME eruption phase.The magma reservoirs of the caldera-forming stage partly reactivate those of the cone-construction stage.The depth of the magma storage zones is controlled by the layering of the crust.The plumbing system of Changbaishan is vertically extensive,with crystal mush reservoirs renewed by the replenishment of new trachytic to trachyandesitic magma from depth.Unlike other volcanoes,evidence of a basaltic recharge is lacking.The interpretation of the signals preceding possible future eruptions should consider the multi-level nature of the Changbaishan plumbing system.A new arrival of magma may destabilize a part of or the entire system,thus triggering eruptions of different sizes and styles.The reference model proposed here for Changbaishan represents a prerequisite to properly understand periods of unrest to potentially anticipate future volcanic eruptions and to identify the mechanisms controlling the evolution of the crust below volcanoes.Jian Yi Pujun Wang Xuanlong Shan Guido Ventura Chengzhi Wu Jiannan Guo Pencheng Liu Jiahui Li 2021Geoscience Frontiers2021,12,5:2
10Vertical distribution and temporal evolution of formaldehyde and glyoxal derived from MAX-DOAS observations:The indicative role of VOC sources显示文摘Formaldehyde(HCHO)and glyoxal(CHOCHO)are important oxidization intermediates of most volatile organic compounds(VOCs),but their vertical evolution in urban areas is not well understood.Vertical profiles of HCHO,CHOCHO,and nitrogen dioxide(NO_(2))were retrieved from ground-based Multi-Axis Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy(MAXDOAS)observations in Hefei,China.HCHO and CHOCHO vertical profiles prefer to occur at higher altitudes compared to NO_(2),which might be caused by the photochemistry-oxidation of longer-lived VOCs at higher altitudes.Monthly means of HCHO concentrations were higher in summer,while enhanced amounts of NO_(2)were mainly observed in winter.CHOCHO exhibited a hump-like seasonal variation,with higher monthly-averaged values not only occurred in warm months(July-August)but also in cold months(November-December).Peak values mainly occurred during noon for HCHO but emerged in the morning for CHOCHO and NO_(2),suggesting that HCHO is stronger link to photochemistry than CHOCHO.We further use the glyoxal to formaldehyde ratio(GFR)to investigate the VOC sources at different altitudes.The lowest GFR value is almost found in the altitude from 0.2 to 0.4 km,and then rises rapidly as the altitude increases.The GFR results indicate that the largest contributor of the precursor VOC is biogenic VOCs at lower altitudes,while at higher altitudes is anthropogenic VOCs.Our findings provide a lot more insight into VOC sources at vertical direction,but more verification is recommended to be done in the future.Qianqian Hong Cheng Liu Qihou Hu Yanli Zhang Chengzhi Xing Jinping Ou Wei Tan Haoran Liu Xiaoqing Huang Zhenfeng Wu 2022Journal of Environmental Sciences2022,34,12:1
11Analysis of antibiotic resistance of Escherichia coli isolated from the Yitong River in North-east China显示文摘The Yitong River is one of the largest secondary tributaries of the Songhua River. The area where the Yitong River flows is densely populated and contains the livestock and poultry breeding areas of northeast China. These areas introduce a high risk of antibiotic contamination. In this study, the concentrations of four types of typical antibiotics including quinolones, tetracyclines, sulfonamides, and trimethoprim were determined by solid phase extraction-high performance liquid chromatography. The antibiotic resistance of Escherichia coli caused by antibiotic pollution was investigated. The concentration of total coliforms in the Yitong River was detected by the plate counting method. The antibiotic resistance of E. coli to quinolones, tetracyclines, sulfonamides, and trimethoprim was analyzed by the Kirby-Bauer method. The results showed that the concentration of total coliforms in the summer was higher than that in the spring. There was a seasonal difference in the resistance rate of E. coli to antibiotics except trimethoprim. The antibiotic resistance to fluoroquinolones was relatively low. The resistance rate to tetracyclines was higher during the summer. Moreover, resistance to several antibiotics was observed in all sections. 16Investigations on the amalgamation of gold nanorods by iodine and the detection of tetracycline显示文摘The morphological transformation process of gold nanorods(Au-NRs) resulting from the reaction be-tween tetracycline and iodine was monitored by the plasmon resonance absorption(PRA) spectra and the scanning electron microscope(SEM) images.It was found that iodine could fuse Au-NRs into sphericity with the lower aspect ratio and blue shift of the longitudinal PRA band.It was found,however,that the presence of tetracycline,since it can react with I2,decreases the effective concentration of I2 and its fusion effect on Au-NRs.As a result,the longitudinal PRA of Au-NRs shifts to longer wavelength linearly with increasing the concentration of tetracycline.With that,tetracycline can be detected in the range of 5.0×105- 5.0×104 mol·L1,with a limit of determination(LOD) of 2.4×106 mol·L1(3σ).Most foreign substances in the samples did not interfere in the detection,and tetracycline in the synthetic samples could be detected with the recovery in the range of 92.8%-107.2%,and RSD lower than 4.3%.The concentration of tetracycline in milk detected with standard addition method was so low that it accorded with the safety regulation.Jian Wang Hao Wu ChengZhi Huang 2009Science China Chemistry2009,52,2:1

18Overview of recognition methods for SSVEP-based BCIs in World Robot Contest 2022: MATLAB undergraduate group显示文摘The steady-state visual evoked potential(SSVEP)-based speller has emerged as a widely adopted paradigm in current brain–computer interface(BCI) systems due to its rapid processing and consistent performance across different individuals. Calibration-free SSVEP algorithms, as opposed to their calibration-based counterparts, offer clear and intuitive mathematical principles, making them accessible to novice developers. During the World Robot Contest(WRC)2022, participants in the undergraduate category utilized various approaches to accomplish target detection in the calibration-free setting, successfully implementing the algorithms using MATLAB.The winning approach achieved an average information transfer rate of 198.94 bits/min in the final test, which is notably high given the calibration-free scenario. This paper presents an introduction to the underlying principles of the selected methods, accompanied by a comparison of their effectiveness through analysis of results from both the final test and offline experiments. 20A Model of High-Speed Endovascular Sonothrombolysis with Vortex Ultrasound-Induced Shear Stress to Treat Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis显示文摘This research aims to demonstrate a novel vortex ultrasound enabled endovascular thrombolysis method designed for treating cerebral venous sinus thrombosis(CVST).This is a topic of substantial importance since current treatment modalities for CVST still fail in as many as 20%to 40%of the cases,and the incidence of CvST has increased since the outbreak of the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.Compared with conventional anticoagulant or thrombolytic drugs,sonothrombolysis has the potential to remarkably shorten the required treatment time owing to the direct clot targeting with acoustic waves.However,previously reported strategies for sonothrombolysis have not demonstrated clinically meaningful outcomes(e.g.,recanalization within 30 min)in treating large,completely occluded veins or arteries.Here,we demonstrated a new vortex ultrasound technique for endovascular sonothrombolysis utilizing wavematter interaction-induced shear stress to enhance the lytic rate substantially.Our in vitro experiment showed that the lytic rate was increased by at least 64.3%compared with the nonvortex endovascular ultrasound treatment.A 3.1-g,7.5-cm-long,completely occluded in vitro 3-dimensional model of acute CVST was fully recanalized within 8 min with a record-high lytic rate of 237.5 mg/min for acute bovine clot invitro.Furthermore,we confirmed that the vortex ultrasound causes no vessel wall damage over ex vivo canine veins.This vortex ultrasound thrombolysis technique potentially presents a new life-saving tool for severe CVST cases that cannot be efficaciously treated using existing therapies.Bohua Zhang Huaiyu Wu Howuk Kim Phoebe J.Welch Ashley Cornett Greyson Stocker Raul G.Nogueira Jinwook Kim Gabe Owens Paul A.Dayton Zhen Xu Chengzhi Shi Xiaoning Jiang 2023Research2023,,1:0
