1Stochastic Maximum Principle for Optimal Control Problems of Forward-Backward Delay Systems Involving Impulse Controls显示文摘This paper is concerned with the optimal control problems of forward-backward delay systems involving impulse controls. The authors establish a stochastic maximum principle for this kind of systems. The most distinguishing features of the proposed problem are that the control variables consist of regular and impulsive controls, both with time delay, and that the domain of regular control is not necessarily convex. 3A joint call for actions to advance taxonomy in China显示文摘Taxonomy plays an important role in understanding the origin, evolution, and ecological functionality of biodiversity. There are large number of unknown species yet to be described by taxonomists, which together with their ecosystem services cannot be effectively protected prior to description. Despite this, taxonomy has been increasingly underrated insufficient funds and permanent positions to retain young talents. Further, the impact factordriven evaluation systems in China exacerbate this downward trend, so alternative evaluation metrics are urgently necessary. When the current generation of outstanding taxonomists retires,there will be too few remaining taxonomists left to train the next generation. 5The Effects of Bio-inspired Electromagnetic Fields on Normal and Cancer Cells显示文摘The electromagnetic field(EMF)is one of many environmental factors,which earth creatures are exposed to.There are many reports on the effects of EMF on living organisms.However,since the mechanism has not yet been fiilly understood,the biological effects of EMF are still controversial.In order to explore the effects of bio-inspired EMF(BIEMF)on normal and cancer cells,various cultured cells have been exposed to BIEMF of different directions,i.e.vertical,parallel and inclined.Significantly reduced ATP production in Hela and A549 cancer cells is found for the parallel and vertical BIEMF.More careful examination on Hela cells has revealed a cell density dependent inhibition on colony formation.The morphological observation of BIEMF-exposed Hela cells has suggested that the retarded cell proli feration is probably caused by cell death via apoptosis.Together these results may afford new insights for cancer prevention and treatment.Xuelei Liu Zongming Liu Zhenning Liu Shujun Zhang Kamal Bechkoum Michael Clark Luquan Ren 2019Journal of Bionic Engineering2019,16,5:1
6Sensitive semi-quantitative detection of respiratory syncytial virus by dark-field light scattering imaging of the infected host cells显示文摘A novel sensitive semi-quantitative virus detection technique was developed using the respiratory syncytial virus(RSV) as an example, through dark-field light scattering imaging of the surface state of the virusinvaded host cells. In this method, anti-RSV-antibody modified gold nanoparticles(Au NPs) could bind with the invading virus on the cell membrane of the infected host cells through the specific antibody-antigen binding. 7The Effects of Electromagnetic Fields on Human Health:Recent Advances and Future显示文摘The potential of clectromagnetic ficlds(EMFs)for discase treatment and health enhancement has been actively pursued over the recent decades.This review first provides a general introduction about natural EMFs and related biological effcts.Then the recent progress on the EMF treatment of some common diseases(such as cancer,diabetes,wound healing and neurological diseases,etc.)has been carefully reviewed and summarized.Yet,the blindness on the selection of therapeutic EMF parameters still hinders the broad application ofEMF therapy.Moreover,the unclear mechanism of EMF function and poor reproducibility of experimental rcsults also remain big challenges in the field of bioclectromagnetics.Bionics is a useful methodology that gains inspiration from nature to serve human life and industry.We have discussed the feasibility of applying bionic approach on the selection of the rapeutic EMFs,which is based on thefindings of natural EMFs.Finally,we advocate that the detailed information of EMFs and biological samples should be thoroughly reorded in future research and reported in publications.In addition,the publication of studies with negative results should also be allowed.Xuelei Liu Xianqiang Yan Shujun Zhang Zhenning Liu Thomas Thu Yein Win Luquan Ren 2021Journal of Bionic Engineering2021,18,1:0
8Backward-forward linear-quadratic mean-field games with major and minor agents显示文摘This paper studies the backward-forward linear-quadratic-Gaussian(LQG)games with major and minor agents(players).The state of major agent follows a linear backward stochastic differential equation(BSDE)and the states of minor agents are governed by linear forward stochastic differential equations(SDEs).The major agent is dominating as its state enters those of minor agents.On the other hand,all minor agents are individually negligible but their state-average affects the cost functional of major agent.The mean-field game in such backward-major and forward-minor setup is formulated to analyze the decentralized strategies.We first derive the consistency condition via an auxiliary mean-field SDEs and a 3×2 mixed backward-forward stochastic differential equation(BFSDE)system.Next,we discuss the wellposedness of such BFSDE system by virtue of the monotonicity method.Consequently,we obtain the decentralized strategies for major and minor agents which are proved to satisfy the-Nash equilibrium property.Jianhui Huang Shujun Wang Zhen Wu 2016Probability, Uncertainty and Quantitative Risk2016,1,1:0
