| 1 | Water in the upper mantle and deep crust of eastern China: concentration, distribution and implications显示文摘Understanding the concentration and distribution of water in the Earth's mantle plays a substantial role in studying its chemical, physical and dynamic processes. After a decade of research, a comprehensive dataset of water content in upper-mantle samples has been built for eastern China, which is now the only place with water-content data from such diverse types of natural samples, and provides an integrated picture of the water content and its distribution in the upper mantle at a continental scale. The main findings include the following:(i) the temporal heterogeneity of the water content in the lithospheric mantle from early Cretaceous(~120 Ma) to Cenozoic(<40 Ma) was tightly connected with the stability of the North China Craton(from its destruction to its consolidation);(ii) the heterogeneous water content in the Cenozoic lithospheric mantle beneath different blocks of eastern China was not only inherited from tectonic settings from which they came, but was also affected later by geological processes they experienced;(iii) the distinct water content between the lowermost crust and lithospheric mantle of eastern China and its induced rheological contrast at the base of the crust indicate that the continental crust–mantle boundary could behave either in a coupled or decoupled manner beneath different areas and/or at different stages;(iv) the alkali basalts of eastern China demonstrate a heterogeneous distribution of water content in the mantle;local and regional comparisons of the water content between the lithospheric mantle and basalts' source indicate that the Cenozoic alkali basalts in eastern China were not sourced from the lithospheric mantle.Instead, the inferred high water contents in the mantle sources suggest that the Cenozoic eastern China basalts were likely sourced from the mantle transition zone(MTZ); and(v) both oceanic and continental crusts may carry a certain amount of water back into the deep mantle of eastern China by plate subduction.Such recycled crustal materials have not only created a local water-rich zone, but have also introduced crustal geochemical signatures into the mantle, both accounting for crustal geochemical imprints in the intra-plate magmatic rocks of eastern China. | Qun-Ke Xia Jia Liu István Kovács Yan-Tao Hao Pei Li Xiao-Zhi Yang Huan Chen Ying-Ming Sheng | 2019 | National Science Review2019,6,1: | 16 |

| 3 | Geochemistry of the subduction-related magmatic rocks in the Dahong Mountains, northern Hubei Province--Constraint on the existence and subduction of the eastern Mianlüe oceanic basin显示文摘The existence and subduction of the eastern Mianl黣 oceanic basin in the south Qinling belt are keys to understand the Qinling orogen. Based on geological mapping, several volcanic slices have been identified in Tumen, Zhoujiawan, Xiaofu and Yuantan areas, which distribute in the northern margin of the Dahong Mountains (DHM), and thrust into the Sanli-gang-Sanyang fault. These slices consist mainly of diabases, basaltic-andesitic lavas, pyroclastic rocks and a minor tuff. The geochemistry of the basalts, andesites,and diabases is characterized by depleting in Nb and Ta, enriching in Th and LILE (e.g.K, Rb, Ba), and undifferentiating in HFSE. These geochemical characteristics suggest that the original magma of these rocks was derived from a mantle wedge above a subduction zone, and formed in an island-arc setting in Carboniferous-early Triassic. Comparing with the ophiolites and island-arc volcanic rocks in Mianxian-Leyang area to the west, it is reasonable to consider that there had been an oceanic basin connecting with the Mianle ancient ocean to the westward, distributing along the south edge of the Tongbai-Dabie block. | 5 | Laser-induced oxidation assisted micro milling of high aspect ratio microgroove on WC-Co cemented carbide显示文摘Severe tool wear and poor surface quality are the main problems during micro machining of cemented carbide.In this work,an innovative hybrid process of laser-induced oxidation assisted micro milling(LOMM)was proposed to solve the problems.A nanosecond laser was utilized to induce oxidation of the WC-20%Co material,producing loose oxide which was easy to remove.The micro machinability of the material was improved by laser-induced oxidation.The oxidation mechanisms of cemented carbide were studied.A microgroove with a depth of 2.5 mm and aspect ratio of 5 was fabricated successfully.The milling force,surface quality and tool wear mechanisms were investigated.For comparison,a microgroove was also fabricated with conventional micro milling(COMM)using identical milling parameters.Results revealed that in LOMM the milling force and tool wear rate were extremely low during removing the oxide.The machined surface quality and dimensional accuracy achieved by LOMM were superior to those obtained by COMM.The surface roughness Saof the microgroove bottom reached 88 nm in LOMM,while the cross-sectional geometry of the microgroove was a trapezoid.Perpendicularity of the microgroove sidewall machined by LOMM was better than that by COMM.The tool wear forms in LOMM were coating spalling and slight tool nose breakage.Compared with COMM,the tool life in LOMM was prolonged significantly.It indicates that the proposed hybrid process is an effective and efficient way to fabricate high aspect ratio micro-features with high dimensional accuracy. | Guolong ZHAO Hongjun XIA Yang ZHANG Liang LI Ning HE Hans Nφrgaard HANSEN | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2021,34,4: | 3 |
| 6 | Effects of tilt angle of disk plough on some soil physical properties, work rate and wheel slippage under light clay soil显示文摘Standard Disk Plough(SDP)is the integral element of traditional farming system in Middle and Northern Sudan.In SDP,the tilt angle between the planes of the cutting edge of the disk which is inclined to a vertical line may be altered according to the field conditions.Tractor drivers usually use an angle close to maximum in order to decrease the tillage depth,consequently decreasing power requirements,without considering the tillage quality and the impact on the soil properties.This experiment was conducted at the College of Agricultural Studies farm of Sudan University of Science and Technology to study the effects of three tilt angles(15°,20°and 25°)on soil bulk density,mean weight diameter,wheel slippage,work rate(or effective field capacity)and soil volume disturbed using mounted disk plough.The nature of soil on the farm found to be light clay.The theoretical forward speed was maintained at 6 km/h.The results showed that increasing tilt angle of the plough significantly(p<0.05)increased the bulk density,mean weight diameter and field capacity while significantly decreasing the tractor wheel slippage and soil volume disturbance. | Abdalla N Osman Li Xia Zhang Dongxing | 2011 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2011,4,2: | 3 |
