| 1 | Osmium isotope determination on mantle-derived peridotite xenoliths from Panshishan with N-TIMS显示文摘The 187Os/ 188Os ratios of spinel lherzolite xenoliths from Panshishan determined with N-TIMS are lower than that of the primitive mantle, which shows depleted mantle characteristics. Their positive correlation with Al-2O-3/MgO suggests that the geochemical behavior of trace elements Re and Os is similar to that of Al-2O-3 and MgO respectively during the magmatic evolution and Re-Os isotopic system is largely immune to mantle metasomatism. | 3 | Establishment of transgenic mice carrying gene encoding human zinc finger protein 191显示文摘AIM:Human zinc finger protein 191 (ZNF191) was cloned and characterized as a Krueppel-like transcription factor, which might be relevant to many diseases such as liver cancer,neuropsychiatric and cardiovascular diseases. Although progress has been made recently, the biological function of ZNF191 remains largely unidentified. The aim of this study was to establish a ZNF191 transgenic mouse model,which would promote the functional study of ZNF191.METHODS:Transgene fragments were microinjected into fertilized eggs of mice.The manipulated embryos were transferred into the oviducts of pseudo-pregnant female mice.The offsprings were identified by PCR and Southern blot analysis.ZNF191 gene expression was analyzed by RT-PCR.Transgenic founder mice were used to establish transgenic mouse lineages.The first generation (F1) and the second generation (F2) mice were identified by PCR analysis.Ten-week transgenic mice were used for pathological examination.RESULTS: Four mice were identified as carrying copies of ZNF191 gene.The results of RT-PCR showed that ZNF191 gene was expressed in the liver,testis and brain in one of the transgenic mouse lineages.Genetic analysis of transgenic mice demonstrated that ZNF191 gene was integrated into the chromosome at a single site and could be transmitted stably. | 7 | Oxidation Experiment of Natural Megacrystal Clinopyroxene:Implications for Assignment of Mssbauer Spectra显示文摘The M?ssbauer spectra of natural megacrystal clinopyroxene are usually fitted by 4 sets of symmetric doublets, A-A(, B-B(, C-C( and D-D(, respectively, in terms of increasing Qs value in literature. But the assignments of those doublets are quite different, except the D-D( doublet assigned to Fe3+ at the lattice site M1 in previous papers. Particularly, the assignment and interpretation of the C-C' doublet are diverse. The oxidation experiments of natural megacrystal clinopyroxene collected from the Hannuoba basalt, North China, were performed under controlled conditions of temperature at 1000oC and oxygen fugacity of FMQ buffer in 1, 2, 3 and 5 days respectively. The oxidized samples were then measured by X-ray diffraction spectrometry and M?ssbauer spectrometry. The oxidation of clinopyroxene is characterized by Fe2+ → Fe3+ at M1 under the subsolidus conditions, which is consistent with the increase of the area of the D-D( doublet when the heating time increases. Accordingly, the area of the A-A( and B-B( doublets decreases with the increasing heating time. However, the area of C-C' keeps almost constant. Therefore, the 4 sets of doublets can be assigned correctly as follows: A-A( doublet to Fe+2 at M1, B-B( Fe2+ at M1, C-C( Fe2+ at M2, and D-D( Fe3+ at M1. The M1 site splitting is due to the NNN (Next Nearest Neighbour) effect of the M2 site. | 9 | Effects of Melatonin on Growth,Physiology and Gene Expression in Rice Seedlings Under Cadmium Stress显示文摘Melatonin(MLT)is a hormonal substance found in many organisms and can improve plant stress resistance.In this study,the japonica rice variety Y32 and indica rice variety NJ6 were cultivated in hydroponics under different concentrations of CdCl2 at the two-leaf stage.The growth,physiological and biochemical responses of the seedlings and the expression of cadmium(Cd)-related genes under exogenous melatonin(MLT)treatment were assessed.The results indicated that Cd stress destroyed the dynamic balance between reactive oxygen species(ROS)production and removal,resulting in ROS accumulation,membrane lipid peroxidation,and impaired growth and development.Following the application of exogenous MLT to rice seedlings,increases in plant biomass including both underground and above-ground areas were observed.MLT also scavenged the inhibition of superoxide dismutase(SOD)and peroxidase(POD)in a concentration dependent manner in response to Cd stress.Catalase(CAT)activity and malondialdehyde(MDA)expression also decreased following MLT treatment.Amongst the six Cd-related genes assessed,five genes were downregulated and one was up-regulated in response to MLT treatment.Taken together,these data demonstrate that MLT improves the resilience of rice seedlings at the biochemical,physiological,and molecular levels,and diminishes the damage caused by Cd stress. | Xiachen Lv Yunxia Fang Lantian Zhang Weiyi Zhang Ling Xu Jingjin Han Bailing Jin Xian Zhang Xiaoqin Zhang Dawei Xue | 2019 | Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2019,88,2: | 1 |

Guiwu Formations of eastern Anhui on the east side of the Tancheng-Lujiang fault belt is one of a few Cenozoic basalt terrains in eastern China for which detailed geochemical study has not been conducted. This paper reports the abundances of major elements and more than 20 trace elements (including REE) of 22 samples and the Nd, Sr and Pb isotopic compositions of 11 samples from the eastern Anhui basalt terrain, thus more or less systematically revealing the geochemical characteristics of this continental basalt suite. The paper discusses the origin of the basalt suite and the character and process of its mantle source. | 12 | Re-Os isotope geochemistry of three Chinese chondrites显示文摘Three Chinese ordinary chondrites,including Jilin (H5),Boxian (LL3.8) and Lujiang (LL6),have been studied for their Re and Os abundances and Os isotopic composition in whole-chondrite samples,separated magnetic and nonmagnetic fractions,and nodules. The results indicate that the Re and Os abundances of the whole-chondrite samples are in the ranges of corresponding H-and LL-Groups,respectively. The Re and Os abundances of magnetic fraction from Boxian and Lujiang are within the range of high-Os ⅡAB and ⅢAB irons,whereas those of nonmagnetic fractions of Boxian and Lujiang are lower than the whole-chondrite values. The Re and Os abundances of nodules in Jilin are in the range of the LL-Group. 187Re/188Os and 187Os/188Os ratios of the three whole chondrites are in the range of ordinary chondrites which locate around the isochron of ⅡAB+ⅢAB irons. 187Re/188Os and 187Os/188Os ratios of the magnetic and nonmagnetic fractions from Boxian have a larger difference. The nonmag-netic fraction of Lujiang may contain a recent addition of Re,which causes deviation of the 187Re/188Os ratio from the irons isochron. An estimation is made of the contents of the major elements and some of the trace elements in the primitive mantle source region of the area, from which the authors have obtained MgO/Al2O3= 7.86. The contents of MgO and Al2O3 are also obtained as 37.58% and 4.78% respectively based on the correlation of MgO-Al2O3.
