| 1 | Cancer situation in China:what does the China cancer map indicate fromthe first national death survey to the latest cancer registration?显示文摘Background:Over the past four decades,the Chinese government has conducted three surveys on the distribution of causes of death and built cancer registration.In order to shine a new light on better cancer prevention strategies in China,we evaluated the profile of cancer mortality over the forty years and analyzed the policies that have been implemented.Methods:We described spatial and temporal changes in both cancer mortality and the ranking of major cancer types in China based on the data collected from three national surveys during 1973-1975,1990-1992,2004-2005,and the latest cancer registration data published by National Central Cancer Registry of China.The mortality data were compared after conversion to age-standardized mortality rates based on the world standard population(Segi’s population).The geographical distribution characteristics were explored by marking hot spots of different cancers on the map of China.Results:From 1973 to 2016,China witnessed an evident decrease in mortality rate of stomach,esophageal,and cervical cancer,while a gradual increase was recorded in lung,colorectal,and female breast cancer.A slight decrease of mortality rate has been observed in liver cancer since 2004.Lung and liver cancer,however,have become the top two leading causes of cancer death for the last twenty years.From the three national surveys,similar profiles of leading causes of cancer death were observed among both urban and rural areas.Lowermortality rates from esophageal and stomach cancer,however,have been demonstrated in urban than in rural areas.Rural areas had similar mortality rates of the five leading causes of cancer death with the small urban areas in 1973-1975.Additionally,rural areas in 2016 also had approximate mortality rates of the five leading causes with urban areas in 2004-2005.Moreover,stomach,esophageal,and liver cancer showed specific geographical distributions.Althoughmortality rates have decreased atmost of the hotspots of these cancers,they were still higher than the national average levels during the same time periods.Conclusions:Building up a strong primary public health system especially among rural areas may be one critical step to reduce cancer burden in China. | Ruimei Feng Qingling Su Xiaoyin Huang Til Basnet Xin Xu Weimin Ye | 2023 | Cancer Communications2023,43,1: | 10 |
| 2 | Simultaneous removal of selected oxidized contaminants in groundwater using a continuously stirred hydrogen-based membrane biofilm reactor显示文摘A laboratory trial was conducted for evaluating the capability of a continuously stirred hydrogen-based membrane biofilm reactor to simultaneously reduce nitrate (NO3--N), sulfate (SO42-), bromate (BrO3-), hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) and para- chloronitrobenzene (p-CNB). The reactor contained two bundles of hollow fiber membranes functioning as an autotrophic biofilm carrier and hydrogen pipe as well. On the condition that hydrogen was supplied as electron donor and diffused into water through membrane pores, autohydrogenotrophic bacteria were capable of reducing contaminants to forms with lower toxicity. Reduction occurred within 1 day and removal fluxes for NO3--N, SO4-2 , BrO3-, Cr(VI), and p-CNB reached 0.641, 2.396, 0.008, 0.016 and 0.031 g/(day·m-2 ), respectively after 112 days of continuous operation. Except for the fact that sulfate was 37% removed under high surface loading, the other four contaminants were reduced by over 95%. The removal flux comparison between phases varying in surface loading and H2 pressure showed that decreasing surface loading or increasing H2 pressure would promote removal flux. Competition for electrons occurred among the five contaminants. Electron-equivalent flux analysis showed that the amount of utilized hydrogen was mainly controlled by NO3 -N and SO4-2 reduction, which accounted for over 99% of the electron flux altogether. | 4 | Enhanced struvite recovery from wastewater using a novel cone-inserted fluidized bed reactor显示文摘The feasibility of struvite recovery at low(12.5 mg/L) and high(120 mg/L) phosphorus concentrations was studied by constructing a novel fluidized bed reactor with cones(FBRwc) and without cones(FBRwoc). The crystallization process was continuously operated for 133 days under different hydraulic retention times(HRT = 1–10 hr), pH(7.5–10), and molar ratios of Mg/P(0.75–1.75), N/P(1–10) and Ca/Mg(0–2). The optimum operating conditions of HRT, pH, Mg/P and N/P molar ratios were found to be 2 hr, 9, 1.25, and 7.5, respectively. Under these optimum conditions, the phosphorus precipitation efficiencies of FBRwcwere 93% for low and 98% for high phosphorus influent; however, the efficiencies were 78% and 81% for FBRwoc, respectively. Due to crystal losses at each junction(17%–31%), the crystal recovery efficiency of FBRwocwas relatively low(47%–65%) for both influent concentrations. However, the losses were minimal in FBRwc, which showed 75% and 92% crystal recovery for low and high phosphorus concentrations, respectively. At low calcium concentration, crystal chemical analysis showed the product to be pure struvite(> 99%). The scanning electron microscope and X-ray diffraction results further confirmed that the crystal recovered from FBRwc contained pure struvite, which could be considered a high quality fertilizer. Except HRT, all parameters(pH, Mg/P, N/P and Ca/Mg) were found to be influencing factors for FBRwcperformance. | 5 | Spatial-temporal Variation of Extreme Precipitation Events in Northwest China During 1961-2010显示文摘Using the daily precipitation data of 118 meteorological stations in Northwest China from January 1,1961 to December 31,2010,we analyzed extreme precipitation events from prime precipitation data by applying R-language Climate Index( RClimDex).The spatial-temporal change characteristics in the past 50 years have been examined using the method of trend analysis,Mann-Kendall and the spatial analysis module of Arcgis9.2.The results show that the spatial distribution of the indices for extreme precipitation in Northwest China is greatly influenced by geographic location,atmospheric circulation and topography,and the spatial difference of extreme precipitation events is very evident,while the indices reduce from the southeast to the northwest except Consecutive Dry Days( CDD).In Xinjiang region,high values appear in Tianshan Mountains and decrease towards the south and north respectively.In the past 50 years,the temporal variation tendency of the indices for extreme precipitation in Northwest China has a great spatial distinction.It shows that the variation tendency is opposite between the east( decrease) and the west( increase),and CDD has a decreasing tendency while other indices increase.For each region,it is found that the indices for extreme precipitation in Xinjiang and Qinghai Province shows an increasing trend,and it is remarkable in Tianshan Mountains,the north of Xinjiang and the northeast of Qinghai Province.The temporal variation tendency of the indices for extreme precipitation in Ningxia,Shaanxi and Gansu has a large spatial distinction.The stations which have an increasing tend are mainly found in the north of Ningxia,south of Shaanxi and Hexi Corridor of Gansu.However,the south of Ningxia,north of Shaanxi and Longnan of Gansu Province mainly present a decreasing trend.The temporal variation tendency of the indices for extreme precipitation in Inner Mongolia is not obvious.Overall,the east part of Northwest China has a dry tendency,while the west part has an opposite trend. | Lian Lishu Xu Shujing Li Zhifu Sun Xiaoyin | 2014 | Meteorological and Environmental Research2014,5,1: | 5 |
| 6 | Arsenic removal from groundwater by acclimated sludge under autohydrogenotrophic conditions显示文摘Arsenic in the environment is attracting increasing attention due to its chronic health effects. Although arsenite(As(III)) is generally more mobile and more toxic than arsenate(As(V)), reducing As(V) to As(III) may still be a means for decontamination, because As(III) can be removed from solution by precipitation with sulfide or by adsorption or complexation with other metal sulfides. The performance of As(V) bio-reduction under autohydrogenotrophic conditions was investigated with batch experiments. The results showed that As(V) reduction was a biochemical process while both acclimated sludge and hydrogen were essential. Most of the reduced arsenic remained in a soluble form, although 20% was removed with no addition of sulfate, while 82% was removed when sulfate was reduced to sulfide. The results demonstrated that the reduced arsenic was re-sequestered in the precipitates, probably as arsenic sulfides. Kinetic analysis showed that pseudo first-order kinetics described the bio-reduction process better than pseudo second-order. In particular, the influences of pH and temperature on As(V) reduction by acclimated sludge under autohydrogenotrophic conditions and total soluble As removal were examined. The reduction process was highly sensitive to both pH and temperature, with the optimum ranges of pH 6.5–7.0 and 30–40°C respectively. Furthermore, Arrhenius modeling results for the temperature effect indicated that the As(V) reduction trend was systematic. | 7 | Bioreduction of vanadium(V) in groundwater by autohydrogentrophic bacteria:Mechanisms and microorganisms显示文摘As one of the transition metals, vanadium(V)(V(V)) in trace amounts represents an essential element for normal cell growth, but becomes toxic when its concentration is above 1 mg/L. V(V) can alter cellular differentiation, gene expression, and other biochemical and metabolic phenomena. A feasible method to detoxify V(V) is to reduce it to V(IV), which precipitates and can be readily removed from the water. The bioreduction of V(V) in a contaminated groundwater was investigated using autohydrogentrophic bacteria and hydrogen gas as the electron donor. Compared with the previous organic donors,H2 shows the advantages as an ideal electron donor, including nontoxicity and less production of excess biomass. V(V) was 95.5% removed by biochemical reduction when autohydrogentrophic bacteria and hydrogen were both present, and the reduced V(IV)precipitated, leading to total-V removal. Reduction kinetics could be described by a first-order model and were sensitive to p H and temperature, with the optimum ranges of p H 7.5–8.0 and 35–40°C, respectively. Phylogenetic analysis by clone library showed that the dominant species in the experiments with V(V) bioreduction belonged to theβ-Proteobacteria. Previously known V(V)-reducing species were absent, suggesting that V(V)reduction was carried out by novel species. | 10 | A high-Tc dc-SQUID-based single-channel MCG and its performance显示文摘A single-channel high-Tc dc-SQUID magnetometer and gradiometer have been developed to record the magnetic field component perpendicular to the human chest generated by heart-beat. Magnetocardiogram (MCG) measurements have been carried out inside a magnetically shielded room. By sequentially adjusting a non-magnetic patient table with 5 cm pitch in X and Y directions, the field signals on a rectangle grid 5×5 over the chest area were registered in real time trace point by point with a typical dwell time over 30 cardiocycles each. Utilizing standard electrocardiogram (ECG) recordings as timing reference measured simultaneously with the MCG signals, the MCG data were then averaged and combined to form magnetic field patterns every 10 ms or so. Both the current dipole, which is parallel to MCG measuring plane and produces the vertical magnetic field, and its depth were determined as a function of time in a standard way. | 19 | Production Dynamic Prediction Method of Waterflooding Reservoir Based on Deep Convolution Generative Adversarial Network(DC-GAN)显示文摘The rapid production dynamic prediction of water-flooding reservoirs based on well location deployment has been the basis of production optimization of water-flooding reservoirs.Considering that the construction of geological models with traditional numerical simulation software is complicated,the computational efficiency of the simulation calculation is often low,and the numerical simulation tools need to be repeated iteratively in the process of model optimization,machine learning methods have been used for fast reservoir simulation.However,traditional artificial neural network(ANN)has large degrees of freedom,slow convergence speed,and complex network model.This paper aims to predict the production performance of water flooding reservoirs based on a deep convolutional generative adversarial network(DC-GAN)model,and establish a dynamic mapping relationship between well location deployment and output oil saturation.The network structure is based on an improved U-Net framework.Through a deep convolutional network and deconvolution network,the features of input well deployment images are extracted,and the stability of the adversarial model is strengthened.The training speed and accuracy of the proxy model are improved,and the oil saturation of water flooding reservoirs is dynamically predicted.The results show that the trained DC-GAN has significant advantages in predicting oil saturation by the well-location employment map.The cosine similarity between the oil saturation map given by the trained DC-GAN and the oil saturation map generated by the numerical simulator is compared.In above,DC-GAN is an effective method to conduct a proxy model to quickly predict the production performance of water flooding reservoirs. | Liyuan Xin Xiang Rao Xiaoyin Peng Yunfeng Xu Jiating Chen | 2022 | Energy Engineering2022,119,5: | 0 |
| 20 | Peripancreatic vascular involvement in patients with type 1 autoimmune pancreatitis显示文摘Background:Type 1 autoimmune pancreatitis(AIP)is the pancreatic manifestation of IgG4-related disease.However,this benign disease can result in the peripancreatic vascular involvement(PVI)on occasion,which increases the difficulty of diagnosis and treatment of this clinical entity as well as for differentiating it from pancreatic malignancies.Methods:We retrospectively reviewed the information on demographics,clinical presentation,laboratory,imaging and endoscopic findings of 101 hospitalized patients with type 1 AIP treated in our department.All the patients were divided into non-PVI and PVI groups according to the first hospitalized medical data.Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed to analyse the potential predictive parameter(s)of PVI in AIP patients.Results:Among the 101 type 1 AIP patients,52(51.5%)exhibited PVI,with a male/female ratio 5.5:1.Their average age was 58.37±8.68 years old.Univariate analysis revealed that the location of pancreatitis lesions,including the pancreatic tail(P=0.010),the presence of splenomegaly(P=0.001)and the white blood cell(WBC)number in peripheral blood(P=0.020),were significantly associated with PVI.The location of pancreatitis lesions,including the pancreatic tail(P=0.023),and the presence of splenomegaly(P=0.010)were found to be independent predictors of the development of PVI by a multivariable regression analysis.A total of 18 out of 25 patients in PVI group who underwent corticosteroid treatment and no less than 6 months radiological follow-up showed improvement in vascular lesions,and no case exhibited exacerbation of PVI lesions during follow-up.Of 36 patients in non-PVI group who were followed up for no less than 6 months,only one case exhibited PVI.Conclusions:This retrospective study demonstrated that type 1 AIP was associated with a high proportion of PVI.Pancreatic tail involvement and splenomegaly may predict the PVI in type 1 AIP.PVI lesions are reversible in a subset of patients. | Meizi Li Xiaoyin Bai Kai Xu Xi Wu Tao Guo Qingwei Jiang Qiang Wang Shengyu Zhang Yingyun Yang Yunlu Feng Aiming Yang | 2022 | Hepatobiliary Surgery and Nutrition2022,11,3: | 0 |
