2Earth surface processes and their effects on human behavior in monsoonal China during the Pleistocene-Holocene epochs显示文摘There is a wide diversity of landforms in China.The topography of three major terraces,decreasing in height stepwise from west to east,was formed by the early Miocene.With the commencement of the Great Northern Hemisphere Glaciations(GHGs)and the glacial-interglacial cycles in the Pleistocene,thick loess deposits accumulated in north China,and fluvial terraces were formed and lakes expanded and contracted in eastern and central China.The earliest evidence of hominins in China is dated to ~1.7 Ma;they occupied the monsoon-dominated region for a long interval,until the late Pleistocene,~50 ka.In this study,we investigated a large area rich in the relics and artifacts of early man.The results indicate that the early humans occupied riverine areas,especially medium-sized fluvial basins,and lake shores.Even in the relatively recent geological past,the occupation and abandonment of settlements were directly forced by the shifting of sand dune fields in the desert-loess transitional zone,which in turn was closely associated with variations in the monsoon climate and vegetation patterns.Our observations indicate that landforms were one of the main determinants of early human behavior,in that loess tableland,large alluvial plains,desert-Gobi areas,and the Tibetan Plateau,were not suitable environments for early human settlement.We infer that the early humans in China adapted their behavior to specific landforms and landform processes.The monsoon climate,which shapes the large-scale step-like pattern of fluvial landforms,promotes vegetation coverage and dominates soil formation,provides a crucial context for early human adaptation.The adaptation of early humans to earth surface processes in East Asia is investigated for the first time in this study.Future investigations will provide further information that will increase our understanding of the linkage between early human behavior and landform processes in East Asia.LU Huayu ZHUO Haixin ZHANG Wenchao WANG Shejiang ZHANG Hongyan SUN Xuefeng JIA Xin XU Zhiwei WANG Xianyan 2017Journal of Geographical Sciences2017,27,11:12
3Solar influenced late Holocene temperature changes on the northern Tibetan Plateau显示文摘Considerable efforts have been made to extend temperature records beyond the instrumental period through proxy reconstructions,in order to further understand the mechanisms of past climate variability.Yet,the global coverage of existing temperature records is still limited,especially for some key regions like the Tibetan Plateau and for earlier times including the Medieval Warm Period(MWP).Here we present decadally-resolved,alkenone-based,temperature records from two lakes on the northern Tibetan Plateau.Characterized by marked temperature variability,our records provide evidence that temperatures during the MWP were slightly higher than the modern period in this region.Further,our temperature reconstructions,within age uncertainty,can be well correlated with solar irradiance changes,suggesting a possible link between solar forcing and natural climate variability,at least on the northern Tibetan Plateau.HE YuXin LIU WeiGuo ZHAO Cheng WANG Zheng WANG HuanYe LIU Yi QIN XianYan HU QiHou AN ZhiSheng LIU ZhongHui 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,9:11
4Research and application on the technology system of multi-scale assessment of the impact on the atmospheric environment by urban planning显示文摘Improvement of the atmospheric environment in urban planning is an important issue to implement the sustainable development of cities. In this paper, in order to meet the demand of planning office to compare and assess quantitatively of the designs in multi-scale, based on geographical information system (GIS) data with high resolution, a multi-scale numerical modeling system for the atmospheric environment impact of urban planning is set up, and the multi-scale assessment index system is established, which compose the technology system of multi-scale assessment of the impact on the atmospheric environment by urban planning. 5The Characterization, Authentication, and Gene Expression Pattern of the MdCER Family in Malus domestica显示文摘Plant cuticular wax is an important determinant factor of fruit quality. Cuticular wax can protect the fruit from UV radiation, drought, and disease and increase the storage period of fruit. In many species, CER gene is associated with wax and can affect plant response to stress, but no characterization of CER gene and its family has been reported in apples. In this study, we identified 10 MdCER genes in Malus domestica based on the sequences of 10 CER genes in Arabidopsis thaliana. Three-dimensional structures were then defined, and root-mean-square deviation(RMSD)scoring matrixes were used to evaluate the matches. These 10 genes were divided into three classes using phylogenetic methods; namely,class I, II, and III. The predicted MdCER genes were distributed across 7 out of 17 chromosomes with different densities. Furthermore, the gene structures and motif compositions of the MdCER genes were analyzed. The quantitative real-time PCR results indicated that MdCER family genes were mainly expressed in the leaves and stems and rarely in the roots. 6Climatic and tectonic controls on the fluvial morphology of the Northeastern Tibetan Plateau (China)显示文摘The geomorphological evolution of the Northeastern Tibetan Plateau(NETP)could provide valuable information for reconstructing the tectonic movements of the region.And the considerable uplift and climatic changes at here,provide an opportunity for studying the impact of tectonic and monsoon climate on fluvial morphological development and sedimentary architecture of fluvial deposits.The development of peneplain-like surface and related landscape transition from basin filling to incision indicate an intense uplift event with morphological significance at around 10–17 Ma in the NETP.After that,incision into the peneplain was not continuous but a staircase of terraces,developed as a result of climatic influences.In spite of the generally persisting uplift of the whole region,the neighbouring tectonic blocks had different uplift rates,leading to a complicated fluvial response with accumulation terraces alternating with erosion terraces at a small spatial and temporal scale.The change in fluvial activity as a response to climatic impact is reflected in the general sedimentary sequence on the terraces from high-energy(braided)channel deposits(at full glacial)to lower-energy deposits of small channels(towards the end of the glacial),mostly separated by a rather sharp boundary from overlying flood-loams(at the glacial-interglacial transition)and overall soil formation(interglacial).Pronounced incision took place at the subsequent warm-cold transitions.In addition,it is hypothesized that in some strongly uplifted blocks energy thresholds could be crossed to allow terrace formation as a response to small climatic fluctuations(10~3–10~4 year timescale).Although studies of morpho-tectonic and geomorphological evolution of the NETP,improve understanding on the impacts of tectonic motions and monsoonal climate on fluvial processes,a number of aspects,such as the distribution and correlation of peneplain and the related morphological features,the extent and intensity of tectonic movements influencing the crossing of climatic thresholds,leading to terrace development,need to be studied further.WANG Xianyan Jef VANDENBERGHE LU Huayu Ronald VAN BALEN 2017Journal of Geographical Sciences2017,27,11:6
7Bone tissue regeneration:The role of finely tuned pore architecture of bioactive scaffolds before clinical translation显示文摘Spatial dimension of pores and interconnection in macroporous scaffolds is of particular importance in facilitating endogenous cell migration and bone tissue ingrowth.However,it is still a challenge to widely tune structure parameters of scaffolds by conventional methods because of inevitable pore geometrical deformation and poor pore interconnectivity.Here,the long-term in vivo biological performances of nonstoichiometric bioceramic scaffolds with different pore dimensions were assessed in critical-size femoral bone defect model.The 6%Mg-substituted wollastonite(CSi-Mg6)powders were prepared via wet-chemical precipitation and the scaffolds elaborately printed by ceramic stereolithography,displaying designed constant pore strut and tailorable pore height(200,320,450,600μm),were investigated thoroughly in the bone regeneration process.Together with detailed structural stability and mechanical properties were collaboratively outlined.BothμCT and histological analyses indicated that bone tissue ingrowth was retarded in 200μm scaffolds in the whole stage(2-16 weeks)but the 320μm scaffolds showed appreciable bone tissue in the center of porous constructs at 6-10 weeks and matured bone tissue were uniformly invaded in the whole pore networks at 16 weeks.Interestingly,the neo-tissue ingrowth was facilitated in the 450μm and 600μm scaffolds after 2 weeks and higher extent of bone regeneration and remodeling at the later stage.These new findings provide critical information on how engineered porous architecture impact bone regeneration in vivo.Simultaneously,this study shows important implications for optimizing the porous scaffolds design by advanced additive manufacture technique to match the clinical translation with high performance.Ronghuan Wu Yifan Li Miaoda Shen Xianyan Yang Lei Zhang Xiurong Ke Guojing Yang Changyou Gao Zhongru Gou Sanzhong Xu 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,5:5
83D printing of Mg-substituted wollastonite reinforcing diopside porous bioceramics with enhanced mechanical and biological performances显示文摘Mechanical strength and its long-term stability of bioceramic scaffolds is still a problem to treat the osteonecrosis of the femoral head.Considering the long-term stability of diopside(DIO)ceramic but poor mechanical strength,we developed the DIO-based porous bioceramic composites via dilute magnesium substituted wollastonite reinforcing and three-dimensional(3D)printing.The experimental results showed that the secondary phase(i.e.10%magnesium substituting calcium silicate;CSM10)could readily improve the sintering property of the bioceramic composites(DIO/CSM10-x,x=0-30)with increasing the CSM10 content from 0%to 30%,and the presence of the CSM10 also improved the biomimetic apatite mineralization ability in the pore struts of the scaffolds.Furthermore,the flexible strength(12.5 -30 MPa)and compressive strength(14-37 MPa)of the 3D printed porous bioceramics remarkably increased with increasing CSM10 content,and the compressive strength of DIO/CSM10-30 showed a limited decay(from 37 MPa to 29 MPa)in the Tris buffer solution for a long time stage(8 weeks).These findings suggest that the new CSM10-reinforced diopside porous constructs possess excellent mechanical properties and can potentially be used to the clinic,especially for the treatment of osteonecrosis of the femoral head work as a bioceramic rod.Dongshuang He Chen Zhuang Sanzhong Xu Xiurong Ke Xianyan Yang Lei Zhang Guojing Yang Xiaoyi Chen Xiaozhou Mou An Liu Zhongru Gou 2016Bioactive Materials2016,1,1:5

10Tuning filament composition and microstructure of 3D-printed bioceramic scaffolds facilitate bone defect regeneration and repair显示文摘It is still a challenge to optimize the component distribution and microporous structures in scaffolds for tailoring biodegradation(ion releasing)and enhancing bone defect repair within an expected time stage.Herein,the core–shell-typed nonstoichiometric wollastonite(4%and 10%Mg-doping calcium silicate;CSiMg4,CSiMg10)macroporous scaffolds with microporous shells(adding~μ10 μm PS microspheres into shell-layer slurry)were fabricated via 3D printing.The initial mechanical properties and bio-dissolution(ion releasing)in vitro,and osteogenic capacity in vivo of the bioceramic scaffolds were evaluated systematically.It was shown that endowing high-density micropores in the sparingly dissolvable CSiMg10 or dissolvable CSiMg4 shell layer inevitably led to nearly 30%reduction of compressive strength,but such micropores could readily tune the ion release behaviour of the scaffolds(CSiMg4@CSiMg10 vs.CSiMg4@CSiMg10-p;CSiMg10@CSiMg4 vs.CSiMg10@CSiMg4-p).Based on the in rabbit femoral bone defect repair model,the 3D μCT reconstruction and histological observation demonstrated that the CSiMg4@CSiMg10-p scaffolds displayed markedly higher osteogenic capability than the other scaffolds after 12weeks of implantation.It demonstrated that core–shell bioceramic 3D printing technique can be developed to fabricate single-phase or biphasic bioactive ceramic scaffolds with accurately tailored filament biodegradation for promoting bone defect regeneration and repair in some specific pathological conditions.Yi Chen Jiaping Huang Jiamei Liu Yingming Wei Xianyan Yang Lihong Lei Lili Chen Yanmin Wu Zhongru Gou 2021Regenerative Biomaterials2021,8,2:3

13Expression Analysis of the MdCIbHLH1 Gene in Apple Flower Buds and Seeds in the Process of Dormancy显示文摘A bHLH transcription factor that is induced by low temperature was found in apple(Malus×domestica Borkh.). To understand the sequence characteristics of the gene, bioinformatics analysis was performed. Furthermore, gene expression patterns of the laminated apple seeds and lateral flower buds were analyzed during the period of dormancy release with semi-quantitative RT-PCR. Based on secondary structure predictions, the results showed that the MdCIbHLH1 protein structure mainly included α-helix and random coil, while β-sheet and extended strand content was less. Semi-quantitative RT-PCR analysis showed that the expression patterns of MdCIbHLH1 were similar in laminated apple seeds and lateral flower buds during the period of dormancy release. Before dormancy release, expression levels of MdCIbHLH1 were high and gradually decreased during the period of dormancy release. 14Targeting the resolution pathway of inflammation using Ac2–26 peptide-loaded PEGylated lipid nanoparticles for the remission of rheumatoid arthritis显示文摘Rheumatoid arthritis(RA)is a common autoimmune disease characterized by joint inflammation and immune dysfunction.Although various therapeutic approaches have been utilized for the treatment of RA in clinical applications,the low responsiveness of RA patients and undesired systemic toxicity are still unresolved problems.Targeting the resolution pathway of inflammation with pro-resolving mediators would evoke the protective actions of patient for combating the inflammation.Ac2–26,a 25-amino acid peptide derived from Annexin A(a pro-resolving mediator),has shown good efficacy in the treatment of inflammatory disorders.However,the low bioavailability of Ac2–26 peptides hinders their efficacy in vivo.In this paper,we formed PEGylated lipid nanoparticles(LDNPs)by the co-assembly of l-ascorbyl palmitate(L-AP)and N-(carbonyl methoxypolyethylene glycol-2000)-1,2-distearoyl-sn–glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine(DSPE-PEG 2 k)to encapsulate and deliver Ac2–26 peptides to the arthritic rats.They showed good stability and biocompatibility.After being intravenously administrated,Ac2–26 peptide-loaded PEGylated lipid nanoparticles(ADNPs)showed the prolonged in vivo circulation time and enhanced accumulation in inflamed sites.In vivo therapeutic evaluations revealed that ADNPs could attenuate synovial inflammation and improve joint pathology.Therefore,the pro-resolving therapeutic strategy using ADNPs is effective in RA treatment.Xianyan Qin Liming He Donghao Fan Wenlang Liang Qin Wang Jiyu Fang 2021Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences2021,16,4:3
15A trilogy antimicrobial strategy for multiple infections of orthopedic implants throughout their life cycle显示文摘Bacteria-associated infection represents one of the major threats for orthopedic implants failure during their life cycles.However,ordinary antimicrobial treatments usually failed to combat multiple waves of infections during arthroplasty and prosthesis revisions etc.As these incidents could easily introduce new microbial pathogens in/onto the implants.Herein,we demonstrate that an antimicrobial trilogy strategy incorporating a sophisticated multilayered coating system leveraging multiple ion exchange mechanisms and fine nanotopography tuning,could effectively eradicate bacterial infection at various stages of implantation.Early stage bacteriostatic effect was realized via nano-topological structure of top mineral coating.Antibacterial effect at intermediate stage was mediated by sustained release of zinc ions from doped CaP coating.Strong antibacterial potency was validated at 4 weeks post implantation via an implanted model in vivo.Finally,the underlying zinc titanate fiber network enabled a long-term contact and release effect of residual zinc,which maintained a strong antibacterial ability against both Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli even after the removal of top layer coating.Moreover,sustained release of Sr2+and Zn2+during CaP coating degradation substantially promoted implant osseointegration even under an infectious environment by showing more peri-implant new bone formation and substantially improved bone-implant bonding strength.Yikai Wang Wangsiyuan Teng Zengjie Zhang Xingzhi Zhou Yuxiao Ye Peng Lin An Liu Yan Wu Binghao Li Chongda Zhang Xianyan Yang Weixu Li Xiaohua Yu Zhongru Gou Zhaoming Ye 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,7:3
16An injectable micelle-hydrogel hybrid for localized and prolonged drug delivery in the management of renal fibrosis显示文摘Localized delivery,comparing to systemic drug administration,offers a unique alternative to enhance efficacy,lower dosage,and minimize systemic tissue toxicity by releasing therapeutics locally and specifically to the site of interests.Herein,a localized drug delivery platform ('plum?pudding'structure) with controlled release and long-acting features is developed through an injectable hydrogel ('pudding') crosslinked via self-assembled triblock polymeric micelles ('plum') to help reduce renal interstitial fibrosis.This strategy achieves controlled and prolonged release of model therapeutics in the kidney for up to three weeks in mice.Following a single injection,local treatments containing either anti-inflammatory small molecule celastrol or anti-TGFb antibody effectively minimize inflammation while alleviating fibrosis via inhibiting NF-k B signaling pathway or neutralizing TGF-b1 locally.Importantly,the micelle-hydrogel hybrid based localized therapy shows enhanced efficacy without local or systemic toxicity,which may represent a clinically relevant delivery platform in the management of renal interstitial fibrosis.Xianyan Qin Yingying Xu Xu Zhou Tao Gong Zhi-Rong Zhang Yao Fu 2021Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,3:2

19Placenta-derived IL-32β activates neutrophils to promote preeclampsia development显示文摘Immune activation at the maternal-fetal interface is a main pathogenic factor of preeclampsia(PE).Neutrophils(PMNs)are activated in PE patients,but the mechanism and consequences of PMN activation need to be further explored.Here,we demonstrated that interleukin-32(IL-32)expression was significantly upregulated in syncytiotrophoblasts(STBs)and that IL-32β was the major isoform with increased expression in the placenta of severe PE(sPE)patients.Furthermore,the level of IL-32 expression in the placenta was correlated with its level in the serum of sPE patients,indicating that IL-32 in the serum is derived mainly from the placenta.Then,in vitro experiments showed that IL-32β could highly activate PMNs and that these IL-32β-activated PMNs were better able to adhere to endothelial cells(HUVECs)and enhance the expression of vascular cell adhesion molecule-1(VCAM-1)and intercellular cell adhesion molecule-1(ICAM-1)in HUVECs,which could be reversed by preincubation with the NADPH oxidase inhibitor VAS 2870.In addition,we showed that IL-32β mainly activated PMNs by binding to proteinase 3.Finally,IL-32β administration induced a PE-like phenotype in a pregnant mouse model.This study provides evidence of the involvement of IL-32β in the pathogenesis of PE.Dan Liu Qiang Li Hailin Ding Guangfeng Zhao Zhiyin Wang Chenrui Cao Yimin Dai Mingming Zheng Xiangyu Zhu Qianwen Wu Ya Wang Honglei Duan Huirong Tang Xianyan Lu Yayi Hou Yali Hu 2021Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,4:2
20Nonlinear Equations Solving with Intelligent Optimization Algorithms: A Survey显示文摘Nonlinear Equations(NEs),which may usually have multiple roots,are ubiquitous in diverse fields.One of the main purposes of solving NEs is to locate as many roots as possible simultaneously in a single run,however,it is a difficult and challenging task in numerical computation.In recent years,Intelligent Optimization Algorithms(IOAs)have shown to be particularly effective in solving NEs.This paper provides a comprehensive survey on IOAs that have been exploited to locate multiple roots of NEs.This paper first revisits the fundamental definition of NEs and reviews the most recent development of the transformation techniques.Then,solving NEs with IOAs is reviewed,followed by the benchmark functions and the performance comparison of several state-of-the-art algorithms.Finally,this paper points out the challenges and some possible open issues for solving NEs.Wenyin Gong Zuowen Liao Xianyan Mi Ling Wang Yuanyuan Guo 2021Complex System Modeling and Simulation2021,1,1:2
