3D non-stationary wideband circular tunnel channel models for high-speed train wireless communication systems显示文摘This paper proposes three-dimensional(3D) non-stationary wideband circular geometry-based stochastic models(GBSMs) for high-speed train(HST) tunnel scenarios. Considering single-bounced(SB)and multiple-bounced(MB) components from the tunnel's internal surfaces, a theoretical channel model is first established. Then, the corresponding simulation model is developed using the method of equal volume(MEV)to calculate discrete angular parameters. Based on the proposed 3D GBSMs, important time-variant statistical properties are investigated, such as the temporal autocorrelation function(ACF), spatial cross-correlation function(CCF), and space-Doppler(SD) power spectrum density(PSD). Results indicate that all statistical properties of the simulation model, verified by simulation results, can match well those of the theoretical model. The statistical properties of the proposed 3D GBSMs are further validated by relevant measurement data, demonstrating the flexibility and utility of our proposed tunnel GBSMs. | Yu LIU Cheng-Xiang WANG Carlos LOPEZ Xiaohu GE | 2017 | Science China(Information Sciences)2017,60,8: | 4

Neighbor-Aware Multiple Access Protocol for 5G m MTC Applications显示文摘In order to support massive Machine Type Communication(mMTC) applications in future Fifth Generation(5G) systems,a key technical challenge is to design a highly effective multiple access protocol for massive connection requests and huge traffic load from all kinds of smart devices,e.g.bike,watch,phone,ring,glasses,shoes,etc..To solve this hard problem in distributed scenarios with massive competing devices, this paper proposes and evaluates a Neighbor-Aware Multiple Access(NAMA) protocol, which is scalable and adaptive to different connectivity size and traffic load.By exploiting acknowledgement signals broadcasted from the neighboring devices with successful packet transmissions,NAMA is able to turn itself from a contention-based random access protocol to become a contention-free deterministic access protocol with particular transmission schedules for all neighboring devices after a short transition period. The performance of NAMA is fully evaluated from random state to deterministic state through extensive computer simulations under different network sizes and Contention Window(CW)settings.Compared with traditional IEEE802.11 Distributed Coordination Function(DCF),for a crowded network with 50 devices,NAMA can greatly improve system throughput and energy efficiency by more than 110%and210%,respectively,while reducing average access delay by 53%in the deterministic state. | Yang Yang Guannan Song Wuxiong Zhang Xiaohu Ge Chengxiang Wang | 2016 | China Communications2016,13,S2: | 2

Channel measurements and models for high-speed train wireless communication systems in tunnel scenarios: a survey显示文摘The rapid developments of high-speed trains(HSTs) introduce new challenges to HST wireless communication systems. Realistic HST channel models play a critical role in designing and evaluating HST communication systems. Due to the length limitation, bounding of tunnel itself, and waveguide effect, channel characteristics in tunnel scenarios are very different from those in other HST scenarios. Therefore, accurate tunnel channel models considering both large-scale and small-scale fading characteristics are essential for HST communication systems. Moreover, certain characteristics of tunnel channels have not been investigated sufficiently. This article provides a comprehensive review of the measurement campaigns in tunnels and presents some tunnel channel models using various modeling methods. Finally, future directions in HST tunnel channel measurements and modeling are discussed. | Yu LIU Ammar GHAZAL Cheng-Xiang WANG Xiaohu GE Yang YANG Yapei ZHANG | 2017 | Science China(Information Sciences)2017,60,10: | 1

Stochastic Gradient Compression for Federated Learning over Wireless Network显示文摘As a mature distributed machine learning paradigm, federated learning enables wireless edge devices to collaboratively train a shared AI-model by stochastic gradient descent(SGD).However, devices need to upload high-dimensional stochastic gradients to edge server in training, which cause severe communication bottleneck. To address this problem,we compress the communication by sparsifying and quantizing the stochastic gradients of edge devices. We first derive a closed form of the communication compression in terms of sparsification and quantization factors. Then, the convergence rate of this communicationcompressed system is analyzed and several insights are obtained. Finally,we formulate and deal with the quantization resource allocation problem for the goal of minimizing the convergence upper bound, under the constraint of multiple-access channel capacity.Simulations show that the proposed scheme outperforms the benchmarks. | Lin Xiaohan Liu Yuan Chen Fangjiong Huang Yang Ge Xiaohu | 2024 | China Communications2024,21,4: | 0

Structural and Kinetics Understanding of Support Effects in Pd-Catalyzed Semi-Hydrogenation of Acetylene显示文摘In this study, the support effects on the Pd-catalyzed semi-hydrogenation of acetylene have been investigated from the structural and kinetic perspectives.According to the results of kinetic analysis and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, hydrogen temperature-programmed reduction,temperature-programmed hydride decomposition, and in situ X-ray diffraction measurements, using carbon nanotubes as support for Pd nanocatalysts with various sizes instead of a-Al_(2)O_(3) decreases the Pd^(0)3d binding energy and suppresses the formation of undesirable palladium hydride species, thus increasing the ethylene yield.Furthermore,X-ray absorption spectroscopy,high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, and C_(2)H_(4) temperature-programmed desorption studies combined with density-functional theory calculations reveal the existence of a unique Pd local environment, containing subsurface carbon atoms, that produces positive geometric effects on the acetylene conversion reaction. Therefore, tailoring the Pd local environment and electronic properties represents an effective strategy for the fabrication and design of highly active and selective Pd semi-hydrogenation catalysts. | Yueqiang Cao Xiaohu Ge Yurou Li Rui Si Zhijun Sui Jinghong Zhou Xuezhi Duan Xinggui Zhou | 2021 | Engineering2021,7,1: | 0
5G green cellular networks considering power allocation schemes显示文摘It is important to assess the effect of transmit power allocation schemes on the energy consumption on random cellular networks. The energy efficiency of 5G green cellular networks with average and water-filling power allocation schemes is studied in this paper. Based on the proposed interference and achievable rate model,an energy efficiency model is proposed for MIMO random cellular networks. Furthermore, the energy efficiency with average and water-filling power allocation schemes are presented, respectively. Numerical results indicate that the maximum limits of energy efficiency are always there for MIMO random cellular networks with different intensity ratios of mobile stations(MSs) to base stations(BSs) and channel conditions. Compared with the average power allocation scheme, the water-filling scheme is shown to improve the energy efficiency of MIMO random cellular networks when channel state information(CSI) is attainable for both transmitters and receivers. | Xiaohu GE Jiaqi CHEN Cheng-Xiang WANG John THOMPSON Jing ZHANG | 2016 | Science China(Information Sciences)2016,59,2: | 0
