Protection of Mice with a Divalent Tuberculosis DNA Vaccine Encoding Antigens Ag85B and MPT64显示文摘DNA vaccine may be a promising tool for controlling tuberculosis development. However, vaccines encoding single antigens of mycobacterium did not produce protective effect as BCG did. In the present study, we evaluated the immunogenicity and protective efficacy of a divalent DNA vaccine encoding two immunodominant antigens Ag85B and MPT64 of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. We found that both humoral and Th1-type (high IFN-γ, low IL-4) cellular responses obtained from the divalent DNA vaccine group were significantly higher than that conferred by BCG. RT-PCR results showed that antigens were expressed differentially in various organs in divalent DNA vaccine group. The survival rate for mice treated with the divalent DNA vaccine after challenging with high doses of virulent M. tuberculosis H37Rv was significantly higher than that of the BCG group or any of the single DNA vaccine group. Significant differ- ences were also found between the single and divalent DNA vaccinated mice in terms of body, spleen and lung weight. Bacterial loading decreased about 2000-fold in lungs and about 100-fold in spleens of divalent DNA vaccinated mice when compared with that of the control group. We conclude that our divalent DNA vaccine may be a better choice for controlling tuberculosis disease in animals.XiaTIAN HongCAI Yu-XianZHU 2004Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2004,36,4:5
High-energy all-fiber gain-switched thulium-doped fiber laser for volumetric photoacoustic imaging of lipids显示文摘We demonstrate a high-energy all-fiber short wavelength gain-switched thulium-doped fiber laser for volumetric photoacoustic(PA)imaging of lipids. The laser cavity is constructed by embedding a short piece of gain fiber between a pair of fiber Bragg gratings(FBGs).Through using three pairs of FBGs with operation wavelengths at1700,1725,and 1750 nm,three similar lasers are realized with a cavity length of around 25 cm.Under a maximum pump energy of 300μJ at 1560 nm,laser pulse energies of 58.2,66.8,and 75.3μJ are, respectively, achieved with a minimum pulse width of<16.7 ns at a repetition rate of 10 kHz.Volumetric imaging of lipids is validated through scanning a fat beef slice with a PA microscopy system incorporated with the newly developed source, and a lateral resolution of 18.8μm and an axial resolution of 172.9μm are achieved. Moreover, the higher shooting speed of the developed source can potentially allow for increasing at twice the frame rate of current intravascular PA imaging.CAN LI JIAWEI SHI XIATIAN WANG BOQUAN WANG XIAOJING GONG LIANG SONG KENNETH K.Y.WONG 2020Photonics Research2020,8,2:4

Bid BH3 peptide, but not its mutant form G^(94)E, induces permeability transition pore opening and cytochrome c release in vitro显示文摘It has been shown that Bid and its truncated form tBid could induce cytochrome c (cyt c) release without impacting on PTP. We first show that Bid BH3 peptide, but not its mutant form of Bid BH3 peptide G94E, which is unable to bind to Bcl-xL, induces permeability transition pore (PTP) opening in a dose dependent manner. Bid BH3 peptide also induces the reduction of mitochondria membrane potential (Ψm) and cyt c release from mitochondrial in vitro. PTP opening and the loss of Ψm, were inhibited by Bcl-xL, cyclosporin A and ruthenium red, and the latter was an inhibitor of Ca2+ uniporter in the mitochondrial membrane. These results indicate that Bid BH3 peptide could antagonize Bcl-xL to induced PTP opening and mitochondrial dysfunction.XIATian, JIANG Chunsun, LI Linjiang, ZHANG Yong, JIN Haijing, LIU Shusen, WU Caihong & CHEN QuanThe National Key Laboratory of Biomembrane and Membrane Biotechnology, Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100080, China The National Ke 2002Chinese Science Bulletin2002,47,7:1
Empowering smart city situational awareness via big mobile data显示文摘Smart city situational awareness has recently emerged as a hot topic in research societies, industries, and governments because of its potential to integrate cutting-edge information technology and solve urgent challenges that modern cities face. For example,in the latest five-year plan, the Chinese government has highlighted the demand to empower smart city management with new technologies such as big data and Internet of Things, for which situational awareness is normally the crucial first step. While traditional static surveillance data on cities have been available for decades, this review reports a type of relatively new yet highly important urban data source,i.e.,the big mobile data collected by devices with various levels of mobility representing the movement and distribution of public and private agents in the city.We especially focus on smart city situational awareness enabled by synthesizing the localization of hundreds of thousands of mobile software Apps using the Global Positioning System(GPS).This technique enjoys advantages such as a large penetration rate(∼50%urban population covered),uniform spatiotemporal coverage, and high localization precision. We first discuss the pragmatic requirements for smart city situational awareness and the challenges faced. Then we introduce two suites of empowering technologies that help fulfill the requirements of(1)cybersecurity insurance for smart cities and(2)spatiotemporal modeling and visualization for situational awareness, both via big mobile data. The main contributions of this review lie in the description of a comprehensive technological framework for smart city situational awareness and the demonstration of its feasibility via real-world applications.Zhiguang SHAN Lei SHI Bo LI Yanqiang ZHANG Xiatian ZHANG Wei CHEN 2024Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering2024,25,2:0
Preparation of Oxysulfide X-Ray Phosphor Fine Particles Using Emulsion Liquid Membrane System显示文摘Gd oxysulfide X-ray phosphors hne particles doped with Tb were prepared by using an emulsion liquid membrane (ELM, W/O/W emulsion) system. The rare-earth ions (Gd^3+ and Tb^3+) were extracted from the external water phase and stripped into internal water phase to make precursor composite oxalate particles. Gd2O2S:Tb fine particles were obtained via a solid-gas reaction in sulfur atmosphere of the precursor oxalate particles. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD),TianYing CaoWanghe LuoXixian XiaTian FuYao 2005Journal of Rare Earths2005,23,3:0
Visual Comparison of Customer Stickiness in Retail Stores显示文摘Understanding market trends and forming competitive promotion strategies has always been a major task of retail store managers. One big challenge is the lack of effective tools for in-depth customer behavior analysis. In this paper, we apply visual analytics techniques to address the challenge, which is built up on the emerging and mobile location big data. We present a system that focuses on the analysis of customer stickiness which represents customers' affinity to retail stores. The system integrates mobile data pre-processing, customer stickiness analysis, multi-view visualization, and a set of interactions. The visual analytics techniques are mainly designed for two types of user tasks: 1) understanding the spatio-temporal distribution of customer traces related to retail stores; 2)evaluating the performance and trend of multiple retail stores through visual comparison. We have demonstrated the effectiveness of the system through two case studies including advertisement placement and business branch reconfiguration.JIANG Tao SHI Lei ZHAO Ye ZHANG Xiatian LU Yao HUANG Congcong 2018Chinese Journal of Electronics2018,27,5:0
