Three-dimensional computational fluid dynam-ics (CFD) has been used to investigate the relations of porosities,flow velocity and diameter of the holes with the pressure loss. Accordingly,some preliminary results have been obtained that pressure loss increases with porosity descent as nearly a hyperbolic trend,rising flow velocity of the input makes the pressure loss increasing with parabola trend,diameter of holes affects little about pressure loss of the muffler. Otherwise,the holes on the perforated pipes make the air flow gently and meanly,which decreases the air impact to the wall and pipes in the muffler. | 4 | Identification of immunoreactive proteins of Brucella melitensis by immunoproteomics显示文摘Infection with Brucella causes brucellosis, a chronic disease in humans, which induces abortion and sterility in livestock. Among the different Brucella species, Brucella melitensis is considered the most virulent and is the predominant species associated with outbreaks in China. To date, no safe human vaccine is available against Brucella infection. The currently used live vaccines against Brucella in livestock induce antibodies that interfere with the diagnosis of field infection in vaccinated animals, which is harmful to eradication programs. However, there is as yet no complete profile of immunogenic proteins of B. melitensis. Towards the development of a safer, equally efficacious, and field infection-distinguishable vaccine, we used immunoproteomics to identify novel candidate immunogenic proteins from B. melitensis M5. Eighty-eight immunoreactive protein spots from B. melitensis M5 were identified by Western blotting and were assigned to sixty-one proteins by mass spectrometry, including many new immunoreactive proteins such as elongation factor G, F0F1 ATP synthase subunit beta, and OMP1. | 8 | Long-term effects of mowing on plasticity and allometry of Leymus chinensis in a temperate semi-arid grassland,China显示文摘Mowing is an important land management practice for natural semi-arid regions.A growing body of empirical evidence shows that different mowing regimes affect the functioning of grassland ecosystems.However,the responses of plant functional traits to long-term mowing and their allometric scaling under long-term mowing are poorly understood.For a better understanding of the effects of mowing on grassland ecosystems,we analyzed the allometric traits of leaves and stems of Leymus chinensis(Trin.) Tzvel.,a dominant grass species in eastern Eurasian temperate grassland,at different mowing intensities(no clipping,clipping once every two years,once a year and twice a year).Experiments were conducted on plots established over a decade ago in a typical steppe of Xilinhot,Inner Mongolia,China.Results showed that most of the functional traits of L.chinensis decreased with the increased mowing intensity.The responses of leaves and stems to long-term mowing were asymmetric,in which leaf traits were more stable than stem traits.Also significant allometric relationships were found among most of the plant functional traits under the four mowing treatments.Sensitive traits of L.chinensis(e.g.leaf length and stem length) were primary indicators associated with aboveground biomass decline under high mowing intensity.In conclusion,the allometric growth of different functional traits of L.chinensis varies with different long-term mowing practices,which is likely to be a strategy used by the plant to adapt to the mowing disturbances. | LI Xiliang HOU Xiangyang REN Weibo Taogetao BAOYIN LIU Zhiying Warwick BADGERY LI Yaqiong WU Xinhong XU Huimin | 2016 | Journal of Arid Land2016,8,6: | 7 |

| 10 | Direct Comparative Analyses of 10X Genomics Chromium and Smart-seq2显示文摘Single-cell RNA sequencing(scRNA-seq)is generally used for profiling transcriptome of individual cells.The droplet-based 10X Genomics Chromium(10X)approach and the plate-based Smart-seq2 full-length method are two frequently used scRNA-seq platforms,yet there are only a few thorough and systematic comparisons of their advantages and limitations.Here,by directly comparing the scRNA-seq data generated by these two platforms from the same samples of CD45cells,we systematically evaluated their features using a wide spectrum of analyses.Smart-seq2 detected more genes in a cell,especially low abundance transcripts as well as alternatively spliced transcripts,but captured higher proportion of mitochondrial genes.The composite of Smart-seq2 data also resembled bulk RNA-seq data more.For 10X-based data,we observed higher noise for mRNAs with low expression levels.Approximately 10%30%of all detected transcripts by both platforms were from non-coding genes,with long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs)accounting for a higher proportion in 10X.10X-based data displayed more severe dropout problem,especially for genes with lower expression levels.However,10X-data can detect rare cell types given its ability to cover a large number of cells.In addition,each platform detected distinct groups of differentially expressed genes between cell clusters,indicating the different characteristics of these technologies.Our study promotes better understanding of these two platforms and offers the basis for an informed choice of these widely used technologies. | Xiliang Wang Yao He Qiming Zhang Xianwen Ren Zemin Zhang | 2021 | Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2021,19,2: | 4 |
| 11 | Preparation of Ni/bentonite catalyst and its applications in the catalytic hydrogenation of nitrobenzene to aniline显示文摘Ni supported on bentonite was prepared by the impregnation method with different nickel contents, applied to the hydrogenation of nitrobenzene to aniline in a fixed-bed reactor, and it was characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), H_2-temperature programmed reduction(H_2-TPR), and X-ray photoelectron spectrometry(XPS). The results showed that Ni/bentonite catalyst with 20 wt% nickel content provided a higher conversion of nitrobenzene and selectivity of aniline compared to other catalysts. Ni O was the precursor of the active component of the catalyst, and the small crystallite size as well as the highly dispersed Ni O on the Ni/bentonite-20 catalyst, contributed to the catalytic performance. The hydrogenation of nitrobenzene was carried out at 300 °C with a H_2 gaseous hourly space velocity of 4800 ml·(g cat)^(-1)·h^(-1)and a nitrobenzene liquid hourly space velocity of4.8 ml·(g cat)^(-1)·h^(-1)over Ni/bentonite-20. A 95.7% nitrobenzene conversion and 98.8% aniline selectivity were obtained. | 13 | Acupuncture inhibits cue-induced heroin craving and brain activation显示文摘Previous research using functional MRI has shown that specific brain regions associated with drug dependence and cue-elicited heroin craving are activated by environmental cues. Craving is an important trigger of heroin relapse, and acupuncture may inhibit craving. In this study, we performed functional MRI in heroin addicts and control subjects. We compared differences in brain activation between the two groups during heroin cue exposure, heroin cue exposure plus acupuncture at the Zusanli point (ST36) without twirling of the needle, and heroin cue exposure plus acupuncture at the Zusanli point with twirling of the needle. Heroin cue exposure elicited significant activation in craving-related brain regions mainly in the frontal lobes and callosal gyri. Acupuncture without twirling did not significantly affect the range of brain activation induced by heroin cue exposure, but significantly changed the extent of the activation in the heroin addicts group. Acupuncture at the Zusanli point with twirling of the needle significantly decreased both the range and extent of activation induced by heroin cue exposure compared with heroin cue exposure plus acupuncture without twirling of the needle. These experimental findings indicate that presentation of heroin cues can induce activation in craving-related brain regions, which are involved in reward, learning and memory, cognition and emotion. | 15 | Energy and economic impacts of an international multi-regional carbon market显示文摘The establishment of a global multi-regional carbon market is considered to be a cost effective approach to facilitate global emission abatement and has been widely concerned.The ongoing planned linkage between the European Union's carbon market and a new emission trading system in Australia in 2015 would be an important attempt to the practice of building up an international carbon market across different regions.To understand the abatement effect of such a global carbon market and to study its energy and economic impact on different market participants,this article adopts a global dynamic computable general equilibrium model with a detailed representation of the interactions between energy and economic systems.Our model includes 20 economic sectors and 19 regions,and describes in detail 17 energy technologies.Bundled with fossil fuel consumptions,the emission permits are considered to be essential inputs in each of the production and consumption activities in the economic system to simulate global carbon market policies.Carbon emission permits are endogenously set in the model,and can be traded between sectors and regions.Considering the current development of the global carbon market,this study takes 2020 as the study period.Four scenarios(reference scenario,independent carbon market scenario,Europe Union(EUh-Australia scenario,and China-EU-Australia scenario) are designed to evaluate the impact of the global carbon market involving China,the EU,and Australia.We find that the carbon price in the three countries varies a lot,from $32/tCO_2 in Australia,to $17.5/tCO_2 in the EU,and to $10/tCO_2 in China.Though the relative emission reduction(3%) in China is lower than that in the EU(9%) and Australia(18%),the absolute emission reduction in China is far greater than that in the EU and Australia.When China is included in the carbon market,which already includes the EU and Australia,the prevailing global carbon price falls from $22 per ton carbon dioxide(CO_2) to $12/tCO_2,due to the relatively lower abatement cost in China.Seventy-one percent of the EU's and eighty-one percent of Australia's domestic reduction burden would be transferred to China,increasing 0.03%of the EU's and 0.06%of Australia's welfare.The emission constraint improves the energy efficiency of China's industry sector by 1.4%,reduces coal consumption by3.3%,and increases clean energy by 3.5%. | Tianyu Qi Yuanzhe Yang Xiliang Zhang | 2015 | Chinese Journal of Population,Resources and Environment2015,13,1: | 3 |
| 16 | Prediction of blasting mean fragment size using support vector regression combined with five optimization algorithms显示文摘The main purpose of blasting operation is to produce desired and optimum mean size rock fragments.Smaller or fine fragments cause the loss of ore during loading and transportation,whereas large or coarser fragments need to be further processed,which enhances production cost.Therefore,accurate prediction of rock fragmentation is crucial in blasting operations.Mean fragment size(MFS) is a crucial index that measures the goodness of blasting designs.Over the past decades,various models have been proposed to evaluate and predict blasting fragmentation.Among these models,artificial intelligence(AI)-based models are becoming more popular due to their outstanding prediction results for multiinfluential factors.In this study,support vector regression(SVR) techniques are adopted as the basic prediction tools,and five types of optimization algorithms,i.e.grid search(GS),grey wolf optimization(GWO),particle swarm optimization(PSO),genetic algorithm(GA) and salp swarm algorithm(SSA),are implemented to improve the prediction performance and optimize the hyper-parameters.The prediction model involves 19 influential factors that constitute a comprehensive blasting MFS evaluation system based on AI techniques.Among all the models,the GWO-v-SVR-based model shows the best comprehensive performance in predicting MFS in blasting operation.Three types of mathematical indices,i.e.mean square error(MSE),coefficient of determination(R^(2)) and variance accounted for(VAF),are utilized for evaluating the performance of different prediction models.The R^(2),MSE and VAF values for the training set are 0.8355,0.00138 and 80.98,respectively,whereas 0.8353,0.00348 and 82.41,respectively for the testing set.Finally,sensitivity analysis is performed to understand the influence of input parameters on MFS.It shows that the most sensitive factor in blasting MFS is the uniaxial compressive strength. | Enming Li Fenghao Yang Meiheng Ren Xiliang Zhang Jian Zhou Manoj Khandelwal | 2021 | Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2021,13,6: | 3 |
