| 2 | Three-Dimensional Thermo-mechanical Coupled FEM Simulation for Hot Continuous Rolling of Large-Diameter Mandrel Bar显示文摘Based on the important boundary conditions of rolling simulation including friction, heat conduction and interactionsof the workpiece and rolls, the hot continuous rolling processes of large-diameter mandrel round bar (200 mm indiameter) in 6VH-stand hot tandem mill are successfully simulated by three-dimensional coupled thermomechanicalelastoplastic finite element method (FEM). The distributions of stress, strain, temperature and the rolling force andtorque for the two-pass and four-pass continuous rolling are calculated respectively. Thus, the two and four-passroll schedules are verified, respectively. The simulation results show that it is safe to produce 200 mm round barby the two-pass (oval pass and round pass) continuous rolling on the existing equipment compared to the four-passcontinuous rolling. | 4 | In situ stable isotopic constraints on dolomitizing fluids for the hydrothermally-originated saddle dolomites at Keping, Tarim Basin显示文摘Detailed characterization of diagenetic fluid behaviour and evolution is commonly hindered by shortage of appropriate and economic methods to carry out in situ analysis in the tiny diagenetic mineral crystals. Using micromill sampling method, this study presents in situ stable isotopic data for the growth zones of saddle dolomite crystals in the hydrothermally-altered dolostones of Upper Cambrian (Furongian) at Keping, Tarim Basin, NW China. These data show minor and large variations in δ13C ( 0.7‰ to 1.5‰ VPDB) and δ18O ( 8.3‰ to 13.8‰ VPDB), respectively, from the cores to outer rims of the dolomite crystals and suggest that saddle dolomites precipitated from dolomitizing fluids with similar carbon sources but oscillatory temperatures during different formation stages. This scenario is confirmed by microthermometry of fluid inclusions within the growth zones of dolomite crystals. | 5 | Current status of applying microwave-associated catalysis for the degradation of organics in aqueous phase – A review显示文摘Interactions between microwaves and certain catalysts can lead to efficient, energy-directed convergence of a relatively dispersed microwave field onto the reactive sites of the catalyst,which produces thermal or discharge effects around the catalyst. These interactions form'high-energy sites'(HeS) that promote energy efficient utilization and enhanced in situ degradation of organic pollutants. This article focuses on the processes occurring between microwaves and absorbing catalysts, and presents a critical review of microwave-absorbing mechanisms. This article also discusses aqueous phase applications of relevant catalysts(ironbased, carbon-based, soft magnetic, rare earth, and other types) and microwaves, special effects caused by the dimensions and structures of catalytic materials, and the optimization and design of relevant reactors for microwave-assisted catalysis of wastewater. | 7 | A novel PdNi/Al_2O_3 catalyst prepared by galvanic deposition for low temperature methane combustion显示文摘Galvanic deposition method was used to prepare the Pd/Ni-Al2O3-GD catalyst for the combustion of methane under lean conditions. The new catalyst and compared catalysts (Pd/Al2O3-IW, Pd-Ni/Al2O3-IW, Pd/Ni-Al2O3-IW) prepared by incipient wetness impregnation were characterized by N2-physisorption, XRD and TEM to clarify particle size and size distribution of palladium species. Combined O2-TPD and XPS results with the catalytic data, it shows that the surface palladium species with low valence exhibits better combustion performance due to their stronger interaction with support. | 9 | A real-time forecast of tunnel fire based on numerical database and artificial intelligence显示文摘The extreme temperature induced by fire and hot toxic smokes in tunnels threaten the trapped personnel and firefighters.To alleviate the potential casualties,fast while reasonable decisions should be made for rescuing,based on the timely prediction of fire development in tunnels.This paper targets to achieve a real-time prediction(within 1 s)of the spatial-temporal temperature distribution inside the numerical tunnel model by using artificial intelligence(Al)methods.A CFD database of 100 simulated tunnel fire scenarios under various fire location,fire size,and ventilation condition is established.The proposed Al model combines a Long Short-term Memory(LSTM)model and a Transpose Convolution Neural Network(TCNN).The real-time ceiling temperature profile and thousands of temperature-field images are used as the training input and output.Results show that the predicted temperature field 60 s in advance achieves a high accuracy of around 97%.Also,the Al model can quickly identify the critical temperature field for safe evacuation(i.e.,a critical event)and guide emergency responses and firefighting activities.This study demonstrates the promising prospects of Al-based fire forecasts and smart firefighting in tunnel spaces. | Xiqiang Wu Xiaoning Zhang Xinyan Huang Fu Xiao Asif Usmani | 2022 | Building Simulation2022,15,4: | 6 |
| 10 | Phosphorite generative processes around the Precambrian-Cambrian boundary in South China: An integrated study of Mo and phosphate O isotopic compositions显示文摘Large phosphorite deposits in Central Guizhou,China,were formed around the Precambrian/Cambrian boundary(PC/C),including the Ediacaran(Doushantuo stage)and early Cambrian(Gezhongwu stage).Among them,Gezhongwu phosphorite from Zhijin are enriched in rare earth elements(REE)plus yttrium(REY),reaching 3.503 million tons.Although phosphorites have attracted great attention,the specific sources P and REY remained unclear.To determine the P and REY sources and establish a phosphogenic model of PC/C phosphorite,we present an integrated dataset of Mo and phosphate O isotopes for the first time,along with carbonate C and O isotopes,geology,petrology,and geochemistry.In all samples,d18Op,Y/Ho,and Zr/Hf decreased from the Ediacaran to the early Cambrian,indicating increased terrigenous weathering fluxes while decreased upwelling water input.Furthermore,terrigenous weathering delivery significantly elevated marine REY concentrations in the Cambrian in Zhijin.The Ceanom and d98/95Mo suggest that seawater was oxidized in the later Ediacaran and became entirely oxic in the early Cambrian.The positive feedback between oxygen levels in atmosphere and primary productivity caused progressive oxygenation in ocean-atmosphere system and enable phosphorites to be formed by different mechanisms.Results show that the Lower Doushantuo consist of abiotic intraclasts and exhibited“seawaterlike”REY types,indicating abiological and mechanical reworking phosphogenesis.The Upper Doushantuo and Gezhongwu Formation contained mainly microbial debris and abiogenic intraclasts,and exhibit “hat-shaped”REY plots,suggesting microbially mediated phosphogenesis.Based on this data set,we developed a phosphogenic model illustrating formation of these two phosphorite deposits,wherein the Lower Doushantuo phosphorite formed through the reworking of pre-existing phosphatic sediments in anoxic and abiotic ocean,whereas the Upper Doushantuo and Gezhongwu phosphorite formed via microbial metabolisms in oxic and biotic conditions.Our study has implications on the PC/C phosphorite generative processes,as well as paleoenvironmental conditions. | Haiying Yang Jiafei Xiao Yong Xia Zhuojun Xie Qinping Tan Jianbin Xu Shan He Shengwei Wu Xiqiang Liu Xingxiang Gong | 2021 | Geoscience Frontiers2021,12,5: | 5 |
| 11 | The origin of bedding-parallel fibrous calcite veins in the Lower Permian Chihsia Formation in western Hubei Province,South China显示文摘Bedding-parallel fibrous veins occurring as lenticular to flattened intercalations were found in the organic-rich marlstone/calcareous shale of the upper Lower Permian Chihsia Formation in western Hubei Province,South China. They dominantly consist of fibrous calcite crystals with smooth and tight boundaries, forming fencelike inward, syntaxial growth clusters toward the vein center along which a median suture line generally occurs.Petrographic evidence indicates that these veins may form at relatively shallow burial depth, where fluid overpressures would have incrementally created the bed-parallel vein space, resulting in displacive growth of fibrous calcite.On the other hand, the C, O and S isotopic data across the vein reveal slightly depleted d13Ccarbvalues(-3.32 % to +0.19 % VPDB) and moderately depleted d18Ocarbvalues(-9.6 % to-7.3 % VPDB) with respect to those of coeval seawaters and slightly heavier d34Spyritevalues(-7.88 % CDT) with respect to those of ambient rocks.Stable isotope evidence consistently suggests significant contribution of bacterial sulfate reduction(BSR) to the formation of the fibrous calcite cements in the vein. The BSR could have been intensive with the availabilities of residual sulfate and abundant organic matters in theChihsia sediments during shallow burial, increasing the alkalinity of pore waters and further promoting carbonate precipitation. | 12 | Propagation of elastic wave in nanoporous material with distributed cylindrical nanoholes显示文摘The effective propagation constants of plane longitudinal and shear waves in nanoporous material with random distributed parallel cylindrical nanoholes are studied. The surface elastic theory is used to consider the surface stress effects and to derive the nontraditional boundary condition on the surface of nanoholes. The plane wave expansion method is used to obtain the scattering waves from the single nanohole. The multiple scattering effects are taken into consideration by summing the scat- tered waves from all scatterers and performing the configuration averaging of random distributed scatterers. The effective propagation constants of coherent waves along with the associated dynamic effective elastic modulus are numerically evaluat- ed. | 16 | SIMS U-Pb Zircon Geochronological and Carbon Isotope Chemostratigraphic Constraints on the Ediacaran-Cambrian Boundary Succession in the Three Gorges Area, South China显示文摘The Ediacaran–Cambrian succession in South China records dramatic biological,oceanic and geochemical changes,but it is not well constrained geochronologically.This study reports a new SIMS U-Pb date of 543.4±3.5 Ma(MSWD=1.2)from a tuffaceous layer in the Zhoujiaao Section,and carbonate C-O isotopes in both Zhoujiaao and Sixi sections,Three Gorges area.This tuffaceous layer is present in the Upper Dengying Formation(i.e.,the Baimatuo Member)which is characterized by a stableδ13Ccarb plateau and the beginning of a negativeδ13Ccarb shift near its upper boundary.In accordance with the existing biostratigraphic and chemostratigraphic data,this new date corroborates that the upper boundary of the Dengying Formation in South China is approximately equivalent to the Ediacaran-Cambrian boundary(ca.541 Ma).This age also provides the minimum age of the last appearance of the Shibantan biota in the Three Gorges area,indicating that the terminal Ediacaran index fossils(e.g.,Cloudina,Sinotubulites)are not reliable stratigraphic markers for further subdivision of the uppermost Ediacaran. | Taiyu Huangc Daizhao Chen Yi Ding Xiqiang Zhou Gongjing Zhang | 2020 | Journal of Earth Science2020,31,1: | 2 |
