| 1 | Fractionation of Heavy Metals in Soils as Affected by Soil Types and Metal Load Quantity显示文摘Two series of soil subsamples, by spiking copper(Cu),lead(Pb),zinc(Zn)and cadmium(Cd)in an orthogonal design,were prepared using red soil and brown soil,respectively.The results indicated that heavy metal fractions in these soil subsamples depended not only on soil types,but also on metal loading quantity as well as on interactions among metals in soil.Lead and Cu in red soil appeared mostly in weakly specifically adsorbed(WSA),Fe and Mn oxides bound(OX),and residual(RES)fractions.Zine cxisted in all fractions except organic bound one,and Cd was major in water soluble plus exchangeable(SE)one.Different from the results of red soil,Pb and Cu was present in brown soil in all fractions except organic one,but over 75% of Zn and 90% of Cd existed only in SE fraction.Meanwhile,SE fraction for any metal in red soil was lower than that in brown soil and WSA and OX fractions were higher.It is in agreernent with low cation exchange capacity and large amounts of metal oxides included in red soil.Metal fractions in soil,especially for water soluble plus exchangeable one ,were obviously influenced by other coexisting metals.The SE fraction of heavy metals increased with increasing loading amounts of metals in red soil but not obviously in brown soil,which suggest that metal availability be easily affected by their total amounts spiked in red soil.In addition,more metals in red soil were extracted with 0.20 mol L^-1 NH4Cl(pH5.40)than that with 1.0 mol L^-1 Mg(NO3)2(pH7.0),but the reverse happened in brown soil,implicating significantly different mechanisms of metal desorption from red soil and brown soil. | ZHOU DONGMEI, CHEN HUAIMAN, HAO XIUZHEN and WANG YUJUNInstitute of Soil Science, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Nanjing 210008 (China) | 2002 | Pedosphere2002,12,4: | 33 |
| 2 | Effect of temperature and moisture on soil organic carbon mineralization of predominantly permafrost peatland in the Great Hing'an Mountains,Northeastern China显示文摘Boreal peatlands represent a large global carbon pool.The relationships between carbon mineralization,soil temperature and moisture in the permafrost peatlands of the Great Hing'an Mountains,China,were examined.The CO2 emissions were measured during laboratory incubations of samples from four sites under different temperatures(5,10,15,and 20°C) and moisture contents(0%,30%,60%,100% water holding capacity(WHC) and completely water saturated).Total carbon mineralization ranged from 15.51 to 112.92 mg C under the treatments for all sites.Carbon mineralization rates decreased with soil depth,increased with temperature,and reached the highest at 60% WHC at the same temperature.The calculated temperature coefficient(Q10) values ranged from 1.84 to 2.51 with the soil depths and moisture.However,the values were not significantly affected by soil moisture and depth for all sites due to the different peat properties(P > 0.05).We found that the carbon mineralization could be successfully predicted as a two-compartment function with temperature and moisture(R2 > 0.96) and total carbon mineralization was significantly affected by temperature and moisture(P < 0.05).Thus,temperature and moisture would play important roles in carbon mineralization of permafrost peatlands in the Great Hing'an Mountains,indicating that the permafrost peatlands would be sensitive to the environment change,and the permafrost peatlands would be potentially mineralized under future climate change. | Xianwei Wang Xiuzhen Li Yuanman Hu Jiujun Lv Ju Sun Zongmei Li Zhifeng Wu | 2010 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,7: | 26 |

| 8 | Assessing the Ecological Quality of Nanjing during Its Urbanization Process by Using Satellite,Meteorological,and Socioeconomic Data显示文摘Assessing the ecological status of different districts within a city undergoing urbanization is challenging given their complex surface types and fast pace of development.In this study,we utilized satellite data obtained from Landsat5/TM(Thematic Mapper)and Landsat 8/OLI(Operational Land Imager)images in conjunction with meteorological and socioeconomic data to construct a remote sensing ecological index(RSEI)for monitoring the ecological quality of Nanjing,Jiangsu Province.A higher RSEI value corresponded to better ecological quality.Five ratings were associated with RSEI values of city districts:very poor,poor,average,good,and excellent.In Nanjing,the percentage of areas evidencing good RSEI ratings decreased from 55.9%in 2000 to 48.0%in 2018,whereas there was a slight increase in areas with very poor RSEI ratings during this period.Of the 11 city districts,16.8%,21.8%,and 61.4%respectively evidenced the increasing,decreasing,and stable ecological quality relative to their quality in 2000.Of the11 administrative districts in Nanjing,the main urban districts evidenced increased RSEI values in 2018 compared with those in 2000,with the improved areas exceeding the ones that had deteriorated in these districts.However,the ecological quality of new urban and ed because of the urban expansion,with areas that had deteriorated exceeding the improved ones.Of the three protected ecological zones,the quality of Zijin Mountain National Forest Park was considerably better than that of Laoshan and Jiangxinzhou.Overall,the urbanization rate and RSEI evidenced a high negative correlation coefficient value(-0.76).The urbanization process of Nanjing induced a declining trend for the ecological quality,indicating the need of strong protection measures for the maintenance or improvement of its ecological environment. | Xin HANG Yachun LI Xiaochun LUO Min XU Xiuzhen HAN | 2020 | Journal of Meteorological Research2020,34,2: | 10 |

| 13 | Self-organizing feature map neural network classification of the ASTER data based on wavelet fusion显示文摘Most methods for classification of remote sensing data are based on the statistical parameter evaluation with the assumption that the samples obey the normal distribution. How-ever, more accurate classification results can be obtained with the neural network method through getting knowledge from environments and adjusting the parameter (or weight) step by step by a specific measurement. This paper focuses on the double-layer structured Kohonen self-organizing feature map (SOFM), for which all neurons within the two layers are linked one another and those of the competition layers are linked as well along the sides. Therefore, the self-adapting learning ability is improved due to the effective competition and suppression in this method. The SOFM has become a hot topic in the research area of remote sensing data classi-fication. The Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflectance Radiometer (ASTER) is a new satellite-borne remote sensing instrument with three 15-m resolution bands and three 30-m resolution bands at the near infrared. The ASTER data of Dagang district, Tianjin Munici-pality is used as the test data in this study. At first, the wavelet fusion is carried out to make the spatial resolutions of the ASTER data identical; then, the SOFM method is applied to classifying the land cover types. The classification results are compared with those of the maximum likeli-hood method (MLH). | 17 | Insulin requirement profiles and related factors of insulin pump therapy in patients with type 2 diabetes显示文摘Continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion(CSII)is an effective therapy to control hyperglycemia in both patients with type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes.However,there is little data investigating the insulin dose setting during CSII therapy in type 2 diabetes to achieve optimal glycemic control and avoid the risk of hypoglycemia.Thus,this study is aimed to assess the dose characteristics of insulin requirement and explore the related clinical factors in patients with type 2 diabetes who were treated with CSII.A total of 327 patients(195 males)aged 52.9±12.5 years old were included in this study.Patients were treated with CSII to achieve the target fasting capillary blood glucose(4.4-7.0 mmol L^(-1))and 2-h postprandial capillary blood glucose(4.4-10.0 mmol L^(-1))by adjusting insulin infusion according to the seven-point capillary blood glucose profiles.Total daily insulin dose(TDD),total daily insulin dose per kilogram(TDD kg-1)and the ratio of total basal insulin dose(TBD)to TDD(%TBa)were calculated after patients achieved the glucose targets for at least 3 days via 1-2 weeks of CSII treatment.And insulin dose,insulin dosing patterns and the relevant clinical factors were analyzed.The mean ratio of basal/bolus insulin distribution of all patients was 40%:60%.Patients with central obesity needed more TDD(51.3±17.1 U versus 43.5±14.0 U,P<0.05)and TDD kg^(-1)(0.8±0.3 U kg^(-1)versus 0.7±0.2 U kg^(-1),P<0.05)than those without central obesity.Pearson's correlation analysis demonstrated that TDD was positively correlated with body mass index(BMI),waist circumference(WC),baseline fasting plasma glucose(FPG),fasting C-peptide level,2 h-postprandial C-peptide level and time to achieve glycemic target(all P<0.05);TDD kg^(-1)was positively correlated with waist-to-hip ratio(WHR),baseline FPG,glycosylated hemoglobin Ale(HbAlc),fasting C-peptide level and time to achieve glycemic target,and negatively correlated with BMI(all P<0.05).Multiple linear regression analyses revealed that BMI(β=1.796,P<0.01),WC(β=0.109,P<0.01),baseline FPG(β=1.459,P<0.01)and HbAlc(β=0.930,P=0.021)were independently related to TDD.Gender(β=-0.107,P=0.003),WC(β=0.005,P=0.029),baseline FPG(β=0.025,P<0.01)and HbAlc(β=0.016,β=0.007)were independently associated with TDD kg^(-1).Gender(β=-0.015,P=0.048)and disease duration(β=0.134,P=0.029)were independently associated with%TBa.%TBa is around 40%in Chinese patients with type 2 diabetes treated with CSII when glycemic control is achieved.In addition to body weight or BMI,WC and glucose levels before CSII should be considered to set TDD.Patients with central obesity or poor glycemic control might need more TDD.Higher%TBa should be considered in female patients or patients with longer disease duration. | Xubin Yang Hongrong Deng Xiuzhen Zhang Daizhi Yang Jinhua Yan Bin Yao Jianping Weng Wen Xu | 2019 | Science China(Life Sciences)2019,62,11: | 6 |
| 18 | Empirical-Statistical Models Based on Remote Sensing for Estimating the Volume of Landslides Induced by the Wenchuan Earthquake显示文摘The Wenchuan Ms 8.0 earthquake on May 12, 2008 induced a huge number of landslides. The distribution and volume of the landslides are very important for assessing risks and understanding the landslide - debris flow - barrier lake - bursts flood disaster chain. The number and the area of landslides in a wide region can be easily obtained by remote sensing technique, while the volume is relatively difficult to obtain because it requires some detailed geometric information of slope failure surface and sub-surface. Different empirical models for estimating landslide volume were discussed based on the data of 107 landslides in the earthquake-stricken area. The volume data of these landslides were collected by field survey. Their areas were obtained by interpreting remote sensing images while their apparent friction coefficients and height were extracted from the images unifying DEM (digital elevation model). By analyzing the relationships between the volume and the area, apparent friction coefficients, and the height, two models were established, one for the adaptation of a magnitude scale landslide events in a wide range of region, another for the adaptation in a small scope. The correlation coefficients (R2) are 0.7977 and 0.8913, respectively. Our research sought to provide references for the protection of wetland ecological environments as well as the related planning and management policies. The study established a fitting model for evaluating the biodiversity conservation function in the Liaohe Delta, northeastern China. The new model, the Wetland Biodiversity Conservation Indicator(WBCI), was with four input factors, including the vegetation coverage(VC), habitat suitability index(HI), land use and land cover(LULC) index(LI), and threat factor index(TI) of the LULC type. The values assigned to HI and TI were based on Integrated Valuation of Ecosystem Services and Tradeoffs(In VEST)habitat quality models. The weights of all the factors in WBCI were valued with the Principal Component Analysis(PCA). We evaluated the wetland biodiversity conservation function of Panjin, Liaohe Delta, China, by using the WBCI model based on Gaofen-1(GF-1) satellite data in 2018, and the result was verified with In VEST and other models. It showed that the output map was similar to that of In VEST, with the higher-quality habitat including the wetland, tidal flat, water body, and forest, as well as the lower-quality land use types including the paddy field, crop field, construction land, and land used by traffic. The wetland biodiversity conservation function was better in areas less affected by human disturbance, with very abundant species and good-quality habitat. It was poor in areas impacted by more frequent human activities such as the land cultivation, housing, and traffic, which led to the landscape fragmentation. The WBCI model provided a more accurate reflection of the bird distribution than the In VEST model. The WBCI model was able to reflect the difference in quality of each habitat grade, in contrast to the net primary productivity(NPP) method and species distribution models(SDMs).
