1Long-term follow-up of the effects of fecal microbiota transplantation in combination with soluble dietary fiber as a therapeutic regimen in slow transit constipation显示文摘As some studies have reported that strategies targeting the gut microbiota such as fecal microbiota transplantation(FMT) with or without other microecological therapy might have efficacy in treating slow transit constipation(STC), we conducted a singlecenter, open-label trial to study the long-term effect of FMT combined with soluble dietary fiber(pectin) on STC. Thirty-one adult patients with STC were enrolled into the trial. Patients received 6-day FMT procedures repeatedly for the first 3 months and soluble dietary fiber(pectin) daily during the follow-up. The rate of clinical remission and improvement, stool consistency, the Wexner constipation scale, and assessment of constipation-related symptoms were evaluated at week 4 and 1 year later. The clinical remission and improvement rates at week 4 were 69.0%(20/29) and 75.9%(22/29), respectively. At the end of the study,48.3%(14/29) of patients continued to have at least three complete spontaneous bowel movements per week and 58.6%(17/29)of patients showed clinical improvements. Stool consistency, the Wexner constipation scale, and constipation symptoms improved both at short-term and long-term follow-up. The results indicated that FMT in combination with soluble dietary fiber(pectin) had both short-term and long-term efficacy in treating STC.Xueying Zhang Hongliang Tian Lili Gu Yongzhan Nie Chao Ding Xiaolong Ge Bo Yang Jianfeng Gong Ning Li 2018Science China(Life Sciences)2018,61,7:33
2Chrysanthemum WRKY15-1 promotes resistance to Puccinia horiana Henn. via the salicylic acid signaling pathway显示文摘Chrysanthemum white rust disease, which is caused by the fungus Puccinia horiana Henn.,severely reduces the ornamental quality and yield chrysanthemum.WRKY transcription factors function in the disease-resistance response in a variety of plants;however,it is unclear whether members of this family improve resistance to white rust disease in chrysanthemum. In this study, using PCR,we isolated a WRKY15 homologous gene,CmWRKY15-1,from the resistant chrysanthemum cultivar C029.Real-time quantitative PCR(RT-qPCR)revealed that CmWRKY15-1 exhibited differential expression patterns between the immune cultivar C029 and the susceptible cultivar Jinba upon P.horiana infection. In addition, salicylic acid(SA)treatment strongly induced CmWRKY15-1 expression.Overexpression of CmWRKY15-1 in the chrysanthemum-susceptible cultivar Jinba increased tolerance to P.horiana infection.Conversely, silencing CmWRKY15-1 via RNA interference(RNAi)in C029 increased sensitivity to P.horiana infection. We also determined that P.horiana infection increased both the endogenous SA content and the expression of salicylic acid biosynthesis genes in CmWRKY15-1-overexpressing plants, whereas CmWRKY15-1 RNAi plants exhibited the opposite effects under the same conditions. Finally, the transcript levels of pathogenesis-related(PR)genes involved in the SA pathway were positively associated with CmWRKY15-1 expression levels. Our results demonstrated that CmWRKY15-1 plays an important role in the resistance of chrysanthemum to P.horiana by influencing SA signaling.Mengmeng Bi Xueying Li Xin Yan Di Liu Ge Gao Pengfang Zhu Hongyu Mao 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:9
3Alpha-2-macroglobulin as a radioprotective agent: a review显示文摘Radiation is an important modality in cancer treatment, and eighty percent of cancer patients need radiotherapy at some point during their clinical management. However, radiation-induced damage to normal tissues restricts the therapeutic doses of radiation that can be delivered to tumours and thereby limits the effectiveness of the treatment. The use of radioprotectors represents an obvious strategy to obtain better tumour control using a higher dose in radiotherapy. However, most of the synthetic radioprotective compounds studied have shown inadequate clinical efficacy owing to their inherent toxicity and high cost. Hence, the development of radioprotective agents with lower toxicity and an extended window of protection has attracted a great deal of attention, and the identification of alternative agents that are less toxic and highly effective is an absolute necessity. Recent studies have shown that alpha-2-macroglobulin(α2M) possesses radioprotective effects. α2M is a tetrameric, disulfide-rich plasma glycoprotein that functions as a nonselective inhibitor of different types of non-specific proteases and as a carrier of cytokines, growth factors, and hormones. α2M induces protein factors whose interplay underlies radioprotection, which supports the idea that α2M is the central effector of natural radioprotection in the rat. Pretreatment with α2M has also induced a significant reduction of irradiation-induced DNA damage and the complete restoration of liver and body weight. Mihailovi? et al. concluded that the radioprotection provided by α2M was in part mediated through cytoprotection of new blood cells produced in the bone marrow; these authors also indicated that an important aspect of the radioprotective effect of amifostine was the result of the induction of the endogenous cytoprotective capability of α2M. The radioprotective effects of α2M are possibly due to antioxidant, antifibrosis, and anti-inflammatory functions, as well as the maintenance of homeostasis, and enhancement of the DNA repair and cell recovery processes. This review is the first to summarise the observations and elucidate the possible mechanisms responsible for the beneficial effects of α2M. The lacunae in the existing knowledge and directions for future research are also addressed.Xueying Chen Xiangbo Kong Zhaoqiang Zhang Wei Chen Jieyu Chen Huanyang Li Wanting Cao Yaping Ge Silian Fang 2014Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2014,26,5:7

5Improving forest burn severity estimations with partial least squares regression and orthogonal signal correction methods in Daxing'an Mountains,China显示文摘Several indices and simple empirical models and ratios of single band from pre-and post-fire Landsat images have been developed to estimate and/or map burn severity. However, these models and indices are usually site-,time-and vegetation-dependent and their applications are limited. The Daxing'an Mountains range has the largest forested area in China and is prone to wildfires.Whether or not the existing models can effectively characterize the burn severity over a large region is unclear. In this study,we used the orthogonal signal correction method based on partial least squares regression(PLSR)to select those variables that better interpret the variance of burn severity.A new index and other commonly used indices were used to construct a new, multivariate PLSR model which was compared with the popular single variable models, according to three assessment indices:relative root mean square error(RMSE%),relative bias(R E%)and Nash–Sutcliffe efficiency(NSE%).The results indicate that the multivariate PLSR model performed better than the other single variable models with higher NSE%(68.2%vs.67.8%)and less RE%(3.7%vs.-8.7%),while achieving almost the same R MSE%.We also discuss the spectral characteristics of the four selected variables for constructing the multivariate PLSR model and their correlation with the field burn severity data. The new model developed from this study should help to better understand the patterns of forest burn severity and assist in vegetation restoration efforts in the region.Cunyong Ju Tijiu Cai Wenhong Li Ge Sun Chengliang Lei Xueying Di Xiuling Man 2021Journal of Forestry Research2021,32,3:2
6Triblock copolymer-assisted construction of 20 nm-sized ytterbium-doped TiO_2 hollow nanostructures for enhanced solar energy utilization efficiency显示文摘Rare-earth doped titania single-crystalline hollow nanoparticles of 20 nm are constructed via a simple sol-gel process. Amphiphilic ABA tri-block copolymers played a key role in assisting the formation of hollow structure, for which a hollow nanostructure growth mechanism is proposed. By introducing rare earth into the synthesis process, the as-prepared nanoparticles exhibit near-infrared light absorption properties. Photo-decomposition efficiency of Orange II azo dye can be successfully evaluated when using Yb3+-doped Ti O2 hollow nanoparticles as photocatalysts; it is more than two times higher than the pure Ti O2 hollow nanoparticles. The hollow nanostructured Yb3+-doped Ti O2 samples are exploited as photoanodes in N719- sensitized solar cells and prove able to improve the photoelectric conversion efficiency by measuring the solar cell parameters of dye-sensitized solar cells(DSSCs) under simulative sunlight.Lin Cheng Xuefeng Xu Yuyan Fang Yan Li Jiaxi Wang Guojia Wan Xueying Ge Liangjie Yuan Keli Zhang Lei Liao Quan Yuan 2015Science China Chemistry2015,58,5:2

9Analysis of Short-Shoot Fuji Apple Tree Structure and Correlative Factors显示文摘In order to clarify the correlation between short-shoot Fuji apple tree structure and different factors under different trimming and pruning modes,we investigate the trunk taperingness of free-spindle short-shoot Fuji and slender-spindle short-shoot Fuji, respectively,as well as the total thickness, average thickness, total length and average length of small main branches in the standard demonstration apple garden in Xingtang County of Hebei Province. By SPSS analysis,we study the correlation between trunk taperingness of trees with different shapes and the growth indices of their small main branches. The results show that the trunk taperingness of free-spindle short-shoot Fuji apple is negatively correlated with the total thickness, average thickness, total length and average length of small main branches, but the correlation is not significant; the trunk taperingness of slender-spindle short-shoot Fuji apple is negatively correlated with the total thickness but positively correlated with other factors, and the correlation with average length reaches a significant level. The results of this study can provide a scientific basis for guiding the high-density dwarf rootstock short-shoot Fuji apple tree trimming technology.Jie HAO Xiangmin SUO Xueying LI Liang WEI Xinmin YAN Xian’ge WANG Jianzhong FENG 2017Asian Agricultural Research2017,9,6:0

A Pb foil with 100 mm diameter and0.15 mm thickness was used to measure the mass-yield distributions of induced radionuclides. A natural Pb cylinderwith 100 mm diameter and 250 mm length was used as the beam dump behind the Pb foil. An ionization chamberwas placed in front of the Pb foil to monitor the beam current. The carbon beam with an energy of 400 MeV/uwas stopped in the Pb cylinder after through the Pb foil. The irradiation was lasted about 20 h to make the beamfluence enough. After irradiation, the gamma spectra of Pb foil were measured by a off-line -spectrometry method. The measurements were performed by using a high-purity germanium (HPGe) detector.Ge Honglin Zhang Xueying Ma Fei Chen liang Zhang Hongbin Ju Yongqin Zhang Yanbin Li Yanyan Wang Bo 2014IMP & HIRFL Annual Report2014,,1:0
122-31 Study of Spallation Yield of Neutrons Produced in Thick Lead Target显示文摘The neutron yield from thick target of Pb irradiated with 250 MeV protons has been studied experimentally. The Pb target was surrounded by a water bath, where this size effectively contained most of the neutrons emittedfrom the target. The moderated neutrons were measured by the activity induced in an array of Au activation foils(with or without Cd cover). The axial coordinates of the foils without Cd cover were Z = -15, -10, -5, 0, 5, 10, 15,20 cm along the target axial, and the radial coordinates of the foils were R = 7.5, 12.5, 17.5, 22.5 and 27.5 cm abovethe target axial. The Au-foil activities were determined by measuring the peak intensities of the 412 keV line from198Au[1], and the results are shown in Fig. 1.Ma Fei Zhang Xueying Ju Yongqin Zhang Hongbin Chen Liang Ge Honglin 2014IMP & HIRFL Annual Report2014,,1:0

14Breakthroughs on tailoring membrane materials for ethanol recovery by pervaporation显示文摘Bioethanol, as a clean and renewable fuel, has gained increasing attention due to its major environmental benefits. Pervaporation(PV) is a promising and competitive technique for the recovery of ethanol from bioethanol fermentation systems due to the advantages of environmental friendliness, low energy consumption and easy coupling with fermentation process. The main challenge for the industrial application of ethanol perm-selective membranes is to break the trade-off effect between permeability and selectivity. As membrane is the heart of the pervaporation separation process, this article attempts to provide a comprehensive survey on the breakthroughs of ethanol perm-selective PV membranes from the perspectives of tailoring membrane materials to enhance PV separation performance. The research and development of polymeric and organic/inorganic hybrid membranes are reviewed to explore the fundamental structure-property-performance relationships. It is found that mixed matrix membranes with welldesigned membrane structures offer the hope of better control overphysi-/chemical microenvironment and cavity/pore size as well as size distribution, which may provide both high permeability and membrane selectivity to break the trade-off effect. The tentative perspective on the possible future directions of ethanol perm-selective membranes is also briefly discussed, which may provide some insights in developing a new generation of high-performance PV membranes for ethanol recovery.Xia Zhan Xueying Zhao Zhongyong Gao Rui Ge Juan Lu Luying Wang Jiding Li 2022Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,,12:0
