Size variation of the end Permian conodont Neogondolella at Meishan Section,Changxing,Zhejiang and its significance显示文摘This study is based on both a generic and species level investigation of the individual size of the latest Permian conodont Neogondolella Pa elements collected from Meishan Section A, Changxing, Zhejiang Province. In this study, an obvious size reduction of Neogondolella Pa elements within bed 24e of the upper Changxing Limestone is recognized. The size variation of the Neogon- dolella occurs simultaneously with some important events including the negative shift of δ 13C, change in the ratio of the abundance of cyanobacterial biomarkers versus that of other general bacterial biomarkers and the shallowing of the sea water. Through the investigation of the paleoenvironmental changes and the analysis of the paleoecology of the conodont genus Neogondolella, the authors propose that the major factors for the size reduction of species of the conodont genus Neogondolella are food shortages caused by the mass extinction, the shallowing of the sea water as well as the in- crease in opacity of the sea water during the end Permian. The same phenomenon of Neogondolella size reduction is also observed in preliminary research from the same horizon at Shangsi Section, Sichuan Province. All the evidence suggests that there was a mass extinction that occurred at the horizon of bed 24e, and the evidence supports the viewpoint of a multi-phase mass extinction during the Permian and Triassic transition in South China.LUO Genming LAI Xulong JIANG Haishui ZHANG Kexin 2006Science China Earth Sciences2006,49,4:14
Boron neutron capture therapy for malignant melanoma: first clinical case report in China显示文摘A phase Ⅰ/Ⅱ clinical trial for treating malignant melanoma by boron neutron capture therapy(BNCT) was designed to evaluate whether the world's first in-hospital neutron irradiator(IHNI) was qualified for BNCT. In this clinical trial planning to enroll 30 patients, the first case was treated on August 19, 2014. We present the protocol of this clinical trial, the treating procedure, and the clinical outcome of this first case. Only grade 2 acute radiation injury was observed during the first four weeks after BNCT and the injury healed after treatment. No late radiation injury was found during the 24-month follow-up. Based on positron emission tomography-computed tomography(PET/CT) scan, pathological analysis and gross examination, the patient showed a complete response to BNCT,indicating that BNCT is a potent therapy against malignant melanoma and IHNI has the potential to enable the delivery of BNCT in hospitals.Zhong Yong Zewen Song Yongmao Zhou Tong Liu Zizhu Zhang Yanzhong Zhao Yang Chen Congjun Jin Xiang Chen Jianyun Lu Rui Han Pengzhou Li Xulong Sun Guohui Wang Guangqing Shi Shaihong Zhu 2016Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2016,28,6:13
The fluctuating environment associated with the episodic biotic crisis during the Permo/Triassic transition:Evidence from microbial biomarkers in Changxing,Zhejiang Province显示文摘The environmental conditions and the biotic crisis during the Permo-Triassic (Tr/P) transition received increasing attention in the past decades. Presented herein are the molecular fossil records of cyano-bacteria and green sulfur bacteria, the base of the marine ecosystem,to highlight the episodic nature of both the environment and the biotic crisis during this critical period. At least two episodes of cyano-bacterial expansion are documented by 2-methylhopanes ranging from C28 to C32 in carbon number, indicative of the instable marine ecosystem and the fluctuant aquatic nutrients. Meanwhile, the index of 2-alkyl-1,3,4-trimethylbenzenes (biomarkers of green sulfur bacteria) and the ratio of pristane to phy-tane (Pr/Ph) witness the fluctuation of sedimentary environmental redox conditions. The above mo-lecular evidence suggests the occurrence of highly fluctuating environmental conditions during the Tr/P transition, which is consistent with, and probably the cause of,the multi-phased biotic crisis and the prolonged faunal recovery.HUANG XianYu JIAO Dan LU LiQiang XIE ShuCheng HUANG JunHua WANG YongBiao YIN HongFu WANG HongMei ZHANG KeXin LAI XuLong 2007Science China Earth Sciences2007,50,7:10
Holocene aeolian stratigraphic sequences in the eastern portion of the desert belt(sand seas and sandy lands) in northern China and their palaeoenvironmental implications显示文摘This paper presents the environmental history and its responses to palaeoclimatic changes since the start of the Holocene in the eastern portion of the desert belt(sand seas and sandy lands) in northern China by comparing the aeolian sandpalaeosol sequences and their palaeoclimatic proxies. The optically stimulated luminescence(OSL) ages of the aeolian sandpalaeosol sedimentary sequences and a series of palaeoenvironmental proxies show that:(1) The large-scale dune landscape currently in the Kubuqi Sand Sea was formed during the Holocene in general;and the palaeosol was generally developed during the period of 4–2 ka, indicating conditions favorable for vegetation growth, soil development, and organic carbon accumulation due to increased precipitation or effective moisture and weakened aeolian activities;the large-scale expansion of dunes in the recent 2 ka is closely linked to human activities. The variable discharge of the Yellow River with diversions for irrigation may have resulted in a more consistent supply of aeolian particles for dune field expansion.(2) The dune landscape of the Hunshandake Sandy Land was likely formed around 12 ka, and before this, the western part of the Hunshandake Sandy Land would have been covered by a single large lake;it was obviously wetter than today in the sandy land during the period of 9.6–3 ka and the palaeosols were developed at the same time. But the aeolian activities have not been completely dormant in this long-lasting wetter epoch;because the Holocene wetter period was likely time-transgressive across the region.(3) The palaeosol of the Hulunbuir Sandy Land began to develop as early as 14.5 ka, probably continuing until the last 2 ka. The palaeosol development of various dune fields in the eastern portion of the desert belt(sand seas and sandy lands) in northern China is spatially heterogeneous, and even the palaeosol development time in different locations within each sandy land is inconsistent. During the middle Holocene(especially the 7.5–3.5 ka), all the sandy lands were stabilized in general and the intensity of aeolian activities was significantly weakened. The number of palaeoenvironmental records in the eastern portion of the desert belt(sand seas and sandy lands) in northern China has increased rapidly in the past decade, but the amount of published data still does not match the vast extent of the dune fields. It does require much more in-depth palaeoenvironmental studies for a full understanding of the relationship between aeolian activities and climate change in northern China.Xiaoping YANG Peng LIANG Deguo ZHANG Hongwei LI Patrick RIOUAL Xulong WANG Bing XU Zhibang MA Qianqian LIU Xiaozong REN Fangen HU Yuxin HE Gang RAO Ninghua CHEN 2019Science China Earth Sciences2019,62,8:10
Detection of water in petroleum inclusions and its implications显示文摘FTIR spectra of inclusions sampled from fault-zone reservoirs of the northwestern Junggar Basin show that water, with different abundances, does exist in petroleum inclusions. It is thus implied that petroleum inclusions can seldom form without water. Different inclusions hosted in one single grain, and formed in one oil charging phase, have a largely varied ratio of water to oil and slightly changed CH3/CH2 ratio. This likely provides evidence for fault-related episodic migration and accumulation of hydrocarbons.CAO Jian YAO Suping HU Wenxuan ZHANG Yijie WANG Xulong ZHANG Yueqian TANG Yong 2006Chinese Science Bulletin2006,51,12:9
Ficolin A exacerbates severe H1N1 influenza virus infection-induced acute lung immunopathological injury via excessive complement activation显示文摘Severe pandemic influenza A(H1N1)2009 virus(pH1N1)infection causes significant morbidity and mortality. We and other groups have reported that immunopathological damage induced by excessive pulmonary inflammation plays a critical role in the pathogenesis of severe pneumonia and provides novel strategies for the treatment of severe influenza infection[1–3].The complement system plays critical roles in both innate and adaptive immunity by activating the classical, alternative and lectin pathways[4].Xu Wu Linlin Bao Ziqi Hu Duoduo Yao Fengdi Li Hui Li Xiaoxue Xu Yunqing An Xi Wang Bin Cao Xulong Zhang 2021Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,9:6
A novel none once per revolution blade tip timing based blade vibration parameters identification method显示文摘The vibration caused blade High Cycle Fatigue(HCF)is seriously affects the safety operation of turbomachinery especially for aero-engine.Thus,it is crucial important to identify the blade vibration parameters and then evaluate the dynamic stress amplitude.Blade Tip Timing(BTT)method is one of the promising method to solve these problems. While,it need a high resolution Once Per Revolution(OPR)signal which is difficult to get for the aero-engine.Here,a Coupled Vibration Analysis(CVA)method for identifying blade vibration parameters by a none OPR BTT is proposed. The method assumes that every real blade has its own vibration performance at a given speed.Whereby,it can take any blade as the reference blade, and the other blades using the reference blade as the OPR for vibration displacement calculating and further parameter identifying. The proposed method is validated by numerical model. Also, experimental studies are carried out on a straight blade and a twisted three dimensional blade test rig as well as a large industrial axial compressor respectively. The results show that the proposed method can accurately identify the blade synchronous vibration parameters and quantitatively evaluate the mistuning in bladed disks, which lays a foundation for the reliability improvement of aero-engine.Weimin WANG Xulong ZHANG Dongfang HU Dengpeng ZHANG Paul ALLAIRE 2020Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2020,33,7:6
Experiment and simulation study on construction of a three-dimensional network model显示文摘The construction of a network model is one of the key techniques in organic com-bination of microscopic flow experiment and simulation. The construction method of a three-dimensional network model is presented on the basis of CT scanning images in this paper. A series of CT slice images describing microscopic pore structure and fluid distribution of actual rock is obtained with the help of the in-dustrial microfocus CT system. Based on the extraction of pore space skeleton, pore and throat information, the corresponding network model is established, and the conversion from three-dimensional CT image information to pore-throat size distribution and topological information is also achieved. The feature of this me-thod lies in the fact that complicated pore space of rock may be characterized by pores and throats with a simple shape while keeping the geometry and flow char-acteristics. It is indicated that the calculated results of porosity, permeability, rela-tive permeability curve and microscopic remaining oil distribution match very well the experimental results of water flooding and polymer flooding. This network model may fairly well characterize the rock microscopic pore-throat size and topo-logical characteristics.HOU Jian LI ZhenQuan ZHANG SunKang CAO XuLong SONG XinWang GAO DeBo 2008Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2008,51,11:5
PD-L1:expression regulation显示文摘Programmed death-ligand 1(PD-L1),expressed on the surface of tumor cells, can bind to programmed cell death-1(PD-1)on T cells. The interaction of PD-1 and PD-L1 can inhibit T-cell responses by decreasing T-cell activity and accelerating their apoptosis.Various cancers express high levels of PD-L1 and exploit PD-L1/PD-1 signaling to evade T-cell immunity, and immunotherapies targeting the PD-1/PD-L1 axis have been shown to exert remarkable anti-tumor effects;however, not all tumor patients benefit from these therapies. Therefore, study of the mechanisms regulating PD-L1 expression are imperative. In this review,we explore regulation of PD-L1 expression in the contexts of gene transcription, signaling pathways, histone modification and remodeling, microRNAs,long noncoding RNAs,and post-translational modification.Current developments in studies of agents that block PD-L1 and correlations between immunotherapies targeting PD-1/PD-L1 and PD-L1 expression are also summarized. Our review will assist in understanding of PD-L1 expression regulation and discusses the implications of reported findings in cancer diagnosis and immunotherapy.Yu-Jie Zhou Guoli Li Jiyin Wang Mengyuan Liu Zihan Wang Yu Song Xulong Zhang Xi Wang 2023Blood Science2023,5,2:3
Formation mechanism of condensates, waxy and heavy oils in the southern margin of Junggar Basin, NW China显示文摘It is a challenge to determine the source and genetic relationship of condensate, waxy and heavy oils in one given complicated petroliferous area, where developed multiple sets of source rocks with different maturity and various chemical features. The central part of southern margin of Junggar Basin, NW China is such an example where there are condensates, light oils, normal density oils, heavy crude oils and natural gases. The formation mechanism of condensates has been seriously debated for long time;however, no study has integrated it with genetic types of waxy and heavy oils. Taking the central part of southern margin of Junggar Basin as a case, this study employs geological and geochemical methods to determine the formation mechanism of condensates, waxy and heavy oils in a complicated petroliferous area, and reveals the causes and geochemical processes of the co-occurrence of different types of crude oils in this region. Based on detailed geochemical analyses of more than 40 normal crude oils, light oils, condensates and heavy oils, it is found that the condensates are dominated by low carbon number n-alkanes and enriched in light naphthenics and aromatic hydrocarbons. Heptane values of these condensates range from 19% to 21%, isoheptane values from1.9 to 2.1, and toluene/n-heptane ratios from 1.5 to 2.0. The distribution of n-alkanes in the condensates presents a mirror image with high density waxy crude oils and heavy oils. Combined with the oil and gas-source correlations of the crude oils, condensates and natural gas, it is found that the condensates are product of evaporative fractionation and/or phase-controlled fractionation of reservoir crude oils which were derived from mature Cretaceous lacustrine source rocks in the relatively early stage. The waxy oils are the intermediate products of evaporative fractionation and/or phase-controlled fractionation of reservoir crude oils, while the heavy oils are in-situ residuals. Therefore, evaporative fractionation and/or phase-controlled fractionation would account for the formation of the condensate, light oil, waxy oil and heavy oil in the central part of southern margin of Junggar Basin, resulting in a great change of the content in terms of light alkanes, naphthenics and aromatics in condensates, followed by great uncertainties of toluene/n-heptane ratios due to migration and re-accumulation. The results suggest that the origin of the condensate cannot be simply concluded by its ratios of toluene/n-heptane and n-heptane/methylcyclohexane on the Thompson's cross-plot, it should be comprehensively determined by the aspects of geological background, thermal history of source rocks and petroleum generation, physical and chemical features of various crude oils and natural gas, vertical and lateral distribution of various crude oils in the study area.CHEN JianPing DENG ChunPing WANG XuLong NI YunYan SUN YongGe ZHAO Zhe LIAO JianDe WANG PeiRong ZHANG DiJia LIANG DiGang 2017Science China Earth Sciences2017,60,5:3
End-Permian conodont fauna from Dongpan section:Correlation between the deep-and shallow-water facies显示文摘This paper systematically investigated the conodonts from the uppermost Permian to the Lower Triassic at the Dongpan Section, Southern Guangxi, South China, and obtained abundant Late Permian conodonts from the syndepositional limestone lenses of beds 3 and 5-2 at this section. One genus and eight species of conodont P1 element including one new species, Neogondolella dongpanensis sp. nov., have been identified. The feature of conodont fauna indicates that conodonts collected from beds 3 and 5 at the Dongpan Section belong to the Neogondolella yini conodont zone, and correspond to bed 24 at the Meishan Section. Based on these conodont data, we suggest that the Neoalbaillella optima radiolarian zone at the Dongpan Section at least extended to the upper part of the N. yini conodont zone.GenMing Luo (1) (2) XuLong Lai (1) (2) QingLai Feng (1) (3) HaiShui Jiang (1) (2) Paul Wignall (4) KeXin Zhang (1) (3) YaDong Sun (2) Jun Wu (1) (2) 2008Science China Earth Sciences2008,51,11:2
Formation of the Yazi Spring Stream and its significance on tectonics-climate on the northern slope of Kunlun Mountains显示文摘The sequences of fluvial terraces in the Yazi Spring Stream are signs of the stepwise uplift of the Kunlun Mountains in the northern part of the Tibetan Plateau since the Late Pleistocene. Geomorphic and sedimentary features of the terraces reveal that they have resulted from the phased tectonic uplift and the consequent river incision in the northern plateau. Using the method of Single-aliquot Regenerative-dose (SAR) Protocol and Radiocarbon 14C dating, the deposit ages of three-grade terraces were ob- tained, which are 57.5, 12.8 and 5.7 kaBP, respectively. The features and ages of terraces reveal that the incision rate of the stream accelerated at the beginning of the Holocene. The incision rate changed suddenly at 12.8 KaBP, from 0.43±0.07 mm/a to 1.59±0.55 mm/a. This implicates that uplift of the Kunlun Mountains is intensive at the first onset of the Holo- cene, corresponding to the obvious change of slip-rate on the Altyn Tagh Fault. But its uplift rate is much lower than that of the latter, which suggests that growth of the northern mar- gin of the Tibetan Plateau is stronger than its interior.CHANG Hong ZHANG Peizhen AN Zhishen WANG Xulong QIANG Xiaoke FU Chaofeng 2005Chinese Science Bulletin2005,50,18:2
Ferroptosis promotes T-cell activation-induced neurodegeneration in multiple sclerosis显示文摘While many drugs are effective at reducing the relapse frequency of multiple sclerosis (MS), there is an unmet need for treatments that slow neurodegeneration resulting from secondary disease progression. The mechanism of neurodegeneration in MS has not yet been established. Here, we discovered a potential pathogenetic role of ferroptosis, an iron-dependent regulated cell death mechanism, in MS. We found that critical ferroptosis proteins (acyl-CoA synthetase long-chain family member 4, ACSL4) were altered in an existing genomic database of MS patients, and biochemical features of ferroptosis, including lipid reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation and mitochondrial shrinkage, were observed in the experimental autoimmune encephalitis (EAE) mouse model. Targeting ferroptosis with ferroptosis inhibitors or reducing ACSL4 expression improved the behavioral phenotypes of EAE mice, reduced neuroinflammation, and prevented neuronal death. We found that ferroptosis was an early event in EAE, which may promote T-cell activation through T-cell receptor (TCR) signaling in vitro and in vivo. These data indicate that ferroptosis may be a potential target for treating MS.Jinyuan Luoqian Wenyong Yang Xulong Ding Qing-zhang Tuo Zheng Xiang Zhaoyue Zheng Yu-jie Guo Li Li Pengbo Guan Scott Ayton Biao Dong Huiyuan Zhang Hongbo Hu Peng Lei 2022Cellular & Molecular Immunology2022,19,8:2
Zn/Sr dual ions-collagen co-assembly hydroxyapatite enhances bone regeneration through procedural osteo-immunomodulation and osteogenesis显示文摘The immune microenvironment induced by biomaterials played vital roles in bone regeneration.Hydroxyapatite(HA)and its ion-substituted derivates represent a large class of core inorganic materials for bone tissue engineering.Although ion substitution was proved to be a potent way to grant HA more biological functions, few studies focused on the immunomodulatory properties of ion-doped HA.Herein,to explore the potential osteoimmunomodulatory effects of ion-doped HA,zinc and strontium co-assembled into HA through a collagen template biomimetic way(ZnSr-Col-HA)was successfully achieved. It was found that ZnSr-Col-HA could induce a favorable osteo-immune microenvironment by stimulating macrophages.Furthermore,ZnSr-Col-HA demonstrated a procedural promoting effect on osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs)in vitro.Specifically, the osteo-immune microenvironment acted as a dominant factor in promoting osteogenic gene expressions at the early stage through OSM signal pathway.Whereas the direct stimulating effects on BMSCs by Zn^(2+)/Sr^(2+) were more effectively at the later stage with Nfatc1/Maf and Wnt signals activated. In vivo study confirmed strong promoting effects of ZnSr-Col-HA on critical-sized cranial defect repair. The current study indicated that such a combined biomaterial design philosophy of dual ion-doping and biomimetic molecular co-assembly to endow HA applicable osteoimmunomodulatory characteristics might bring up a new cutting-edge concept for bone regeneration study.Zhenyu Zhong Xiaodan Wu Yifan Wang Mengdie Li Yan Li XuLong Liu Xin Zhang Ziyang Lan Jianglin Wang Yingying Du Shengmin Zhang 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,4:2
Supramolecular vesicles of cationic gemini surfactants modulated by p-sulfonatocalix[4]arene显示文摘Supramolecular binary vesicles were constructed by host-guest complex formation between p-sulfonatocalix[4]arene and three cationic gemini surfactants, which were identified by UV-vis, dynamic laser scattering, transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, and surface tension experiments. The critical aggregation concentration of gemini surfactants decreased pronouncedly by a factor of ca. 1000 owing to the complexation of p-sulfonato-calix[4]arene.LI ZhenQuan HU ChunXiu CHENG YuQiao XU Hui CAO XuLong SONG XinWang ZHANG HengYi LIU Yu 2012Science China Chemistry2012,55,10:2
