| 1 | DISTRIBUTION OF CARBONACEOUS AEROSOL DURING SPRING 2005 OVER THE HORQIN SANDLAND IN NORTHEASTERN CHINA显示文摘The objective of this study was to characterize the elemental carbon and organic carbon (EC and OC, respectively) content of aerosol particles (PM2.5) collected at Tongliao, a site in the Horqin Sandland of northeastern China. During spring 2005, the PM2.5 mass concentration was 126±71 μg?m-3, with higher dust concentrations during five dust storms than on non-dusty days (255±77 vs. 106±44 μg?m-3). The average OC and EC concentrations in PM2.5 de-termined by a thermal/optical reflectance method were 15.7±7.3 μg?m-3 and 3.3±1.7 μg?m-3, respectively, and carbona-ceous aerosol accounted for 9.9% of the PM2.5 mass during dust storms compared to 21.7% on normal days. The aver-age ratios of OC to EC during dust storms were similar to those on non-dusty days, and the correlation coefficient be-tween OC and EC was high, 0.86. | 2 | CHARACTERISTICS OF CLAY MINERALS IN ASIAN DUST AND THEIR ENVIRONMENTAL SIGNIFICANCE显示文摘The objectives of this research were to characterise the clay minerals composition of soil-derived dust in Northern China and to set up a mineralogical signature to trace their origin. Mineral composition of aerosol particles was investigated at Aksu, Dunhuang, Yulin, Tongliao and Changwu during an intensive field campaign period of ACE-Asia.The results show that the kaolinite (K) to chlorite (C) ratio is sensitive to the regional origin of Asian dust. Western source areas (represented by Aksu) displayed the lowest K/C ratio of 0.3 (average), while it was found to increase up to 0.70(average) upon moving towards northern source areas (represented by Yulin). By studying transported dust in a deposition area representative of the Chinese Loess Plateau, the usefulness of the K/C ratio, when associated with back air-mass trajectories, was found to lie in revealing the origin of the dust. | 3 | MORPHOLOGY AND ELEMENTAL COMPOSITION OF DUSTFALL PARTICLES INSIDE EMPEROR QIN'S TERRA-COTTA WARRIORS AND HORSES MUSEUM显示文摘Indoor dustfall samples were collected in Pit 1 and Pit 2 of Emperor Qin’s Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses Museum in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, China. The morphological and elemental analysis for long-term (>10 years) and short-term (~0.5 year) dustfall particles and lacquer pieces on the faces of partly assembled warriors were performed with scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer (SEM/EDX). The results showed that the ma-jority of dustfall samples appeared to be composed of mineral dust particles, fly ash, and biological particles with different elemental compositions. Most of the mineral particles had irregular shapes with smooth edges. Small floccules of calcium sulfate were more frequently observed in long-term dustfall samples than in short-term samples, implying a progressive chemical reaction between continuous dustfall particles and atmospheric sulfur dioxide. | 4 | Profiles and Source Apportionment of Nonmethane Volatile Organic Compounds in Winter and Summer in Xi’an, China, based on the Hybrid Environmental Receptor Model显示文摘Summer and winter campaigns for the chemical compositions and sources of nonmethane hydrocarbons(NMHCs)and oxygenated volatile organic compounds(OVOCs)were conducted in Xi’an.Data from 57 photochemical assessment monitoring stations for NMHCs and 20 OVOC species were analyzed.Significant seasonal differences were noted for total VOC(TVOC,NMHCs and OVOCs)concentrations and compositions.The campaign-average TVOC concentrations in winter(85.3±60.6 ppbv)were almost twice those in summer(47.2±31.6 ppbv).Alkanes and OVOCs were the most abundant category in winter and summer,respectively.NMHCs,but not OVOCs,had significantly higher levels on weekends than on weekdays.Total ozone formation potential was higher in summer than in winter(by 50%)because of the high concentrations of alkenes(particularly isoprene),high temperature,and high solar radiation levels in summer.The Hybrid Environmental Receptor Model(HERM)was used to conduct source apportionment for atmospheric TVOCs in winter and summer,with excellent accuracy.HERM demonstrated its suitability in a situation where only partial source profile data were available.The HERM results indicated significantly different seasonal source contributions to TVOCs in Xi’an.In particular,coal and biomass burning had contributions greater than half in winter(53.4%),whereas traffic sources were prevalent in summer(53.1%).This study’s results highlight the need for targeted and adjustable VOC control measures that account for seasonal differences in Xi’an;such measures should target not only the severe problem with VOC pollution but also the problem of consequent secondary pollution(e.g.,from ozone and secondary organic aerosols). | Jian SUN Zhenxing SHEN Yue ZHANG Wenting DAI Kun HE Hongmei XU Zhou ZHANG Long CUI Xuxiang LI Yu HUANG Junji CAO | 2021 | Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2021,38,1: | 2 |
| 5 | 青海河湟谷地胃癌病理特征及其变化趋势分析(英文)显示文摘Objective: The aim of our study was to discuss changes in the clinicopathological characteristics of gastric cancer in Hehuang Valley of China in recent 10 years. Methods: A retrospective case-control study was performed on 2379 newly-diagnosed gastric cancer patients. All of them came from Hehuang Valley. The patients were divided into two groups [recent 5 years(R5Y) and late 5 years(L5Y)] from February 2003 to February 2013, and the clinicopathological data were surveyed retrospectively. Results: The constituent ratio of upper 1/3 gastric cancer in R5Y and L5Y was 33.5% and 20.7%, respectively, and it showed a significant difference between the two groups(χ2 = 21.28, P = 0.00). The constituent ratio of squamous carcinoma/adenosquamous carcinoma was 2.7% and 1.6%, respectively, and it also showed a significant difference between two groups(χ2 = 50.91, P = 0.00). The constituent ratio of moderately-poorly differentiated/poorly differentiated gastric carcinoma was 84.2% and 50.2%, respectively, and it showed statistically significant difference(χ2 = 30.28, P = 0.00). The detection rate of early gastric cancer(EGC) was 1.47%(35/2379). The constituent ratio of the types of Borrmann II and Borrmann IV of advanced gastric cancer(AGC) among 2379 cases was 47.6% and 40.8%, respectively, and that still showed statistically significant difference(χ2 = 18.80, P = 0.00). The constituent ratio of diffuse-type of gastric cancer in R5Y and L5Y was 36.2% and 30.8%, respectively, even there was a significant difference(χ2 = 7.49, P = 0.01). Furthermore, there were also significant differences in regional lymph nodes metastasis, perineural infiltration and vascular invasion(P < 0.05). The positive detection rate of HER2, ER and PR was 14.88%, 17.23% and 15.93%, respectively. The constituent ratio of HP in two groups was 43.8% and 36.2% respectively, and it also showed a significant difference(χ2 = 13.51, P = 0.00). Conclusion: The pathogenic sites in gastric cancer change to the upper stomach in Hehuang Valley in recent 10 years, and the detection rate of squamous carcinoma/adenosquamous carcinoma reveals a sharp rise. Borrmann III is still one of the main types of advanced gastric cancer, but the detection rates of Borrmann II and IV are increasing. The main type of gastric cancer is the intestinaltype, but the ratio of diffuse-type is also increasing in recent 10 years. The HP detection rate is 40.65%(967/2379), and it has a slight rise in recent 10 years. The detection rate of poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma is increasing despite the fact that the moderately/moderately-poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma is the main histologic types. High detection rates of lymph nodes metastasis, perineural infiltration and vascular invasion indicate poor prognosis in patients with gastric cancer. However, the computational cost of adjoint vector is approximately equal to that of flow computation. In order to accelerate the solution of adjoint vector and improve the efficiency of adjoint-based optimization, machine learning for adjoint vector modeling is presented. Deep neural network (DNN) is employed to construct the mapping between the adjoint vector and the local flow variables. DNN can efficiently predict adjoint vector and its generalization is examined by a transonic drag reduction of NACA0012 airfoil. | 20 | Treatment of singultus following craniocerebral injury Intranasal cavity drip infusion versus intramuscular injection of aminazine显示文摘BACKGROUND: Craniocerebral injury always accompanies with singultus,while frequent singultus may cause increased intracranial pressure. Simultaneously,respiratory alkalosis and cerebral hypoxia induced by respiratory disorder may aggravate craniocerebral injury. OBJECTIVE: To observe the therapeutic effects of intranasal cavity drip infusion of aminazine and intramuscular injection on singultus following craniocerebral injury. DESIGN: Contrast observation. SETTING: Department of Neurosurgery,Xi'an Aerospace General Hospital. PARTICIPANTS: A total of 102 patients with singultus following craniocerebral injury were selected from the Department of Neurosurgery,Xi'an Aerospace General Hospital from June 2001 to June 2006. Patients with craniocerebral injury were diagnosed with CT examination and randomly divided into nasal cavity medication group (n =62) and intramuscular injection group (n =40). There were 44 males and 18 females in the nasal cavity medication group and their mean age was (33±4) years; while,there were 26 males and 14 females in the intramuscular injection group and their mean age was (29±4) years. All patients and their relatives provided the confirmed consent. METHODS: Patients in the nasal cavity medication group were slowly dripped aminazine solution into bilateral nasal cavity with the dosage of 12.5 mg (0.5 mL). Patients who had no obvious effect or had mild improvement received the treatment once every 6 hours. The treatment was stopped if symptoms were also observed after the fifth medication. In addition,patients in the intramuscular injection group received intramuscular injection of 50 mg aminazine. Patients who had no obvious effect or had mild improvement received the treatment once every 6 hours. The treatment was changed if symptoms were also observed after the fifth medication. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Therapeutic effects of different medications in the two groups. RESULTS: All 102 patients were involved in the final analysis. Effective rate in the nasal cavity medication group was higher than that in the intramuscular injection group,and there was significant difference (χ2= 11.882,P < 0.01). At 6 hours after onset of singultus,effective rate in the nasal cavity medication group was higher than that in the intramuscular injection group,and there was significant difference (χ2 =8.188,P < 0.01).
