1Applications of graphene-based materials in environmental protection and detection显示文摘Many efficient adsorbents and sensors based on graphene and functionalized graphene have been constructed for the removal and detection of environmental pollutants due to its unique physicochemical properties. In this article, recent research achievements are reviewed on the application of graphene-based materials in the environmental protection and detection. For environmental protection, modified graphene can adsorb heavy metal ions in a high efficiency and selectivity, and thus reduces them to metals for recycling. High adsorption capacity of graphene-based materials to kinds of organic pollutants in water was also presented. Several graphene-based sensors with high limit of detection were reported to detect heavy metal ions, toxic gases and organic pollutants in environment. 2Factors influencing the natural regeneration of arrow bamboo in giant panda habitat of the north Minshan Mountains,southwestern China显示文摘To determine the effects of eco-factors on the regeneration of arrow bamboo in giant panda habitat,a field study was conducted in the Baozuo and Gonggangling Nature Reserves,Sichuan Province,China.A total of 183 quadrats(10 m×10 m) and 717 small quadrats(1 m×1 m) were investigated within the study site.Bamboo seedling density was used as an indicator of natural regeneration.Twelve factors were measured,which included topography and forest factors(elevation,slope aspect,slope degree,slope position,canopy cover,and shrub cover) and microhabitat factors(upper vegetation cover,herb cover,litter layer cover,moss cover,moss thickness,and dead bamboo density).A One-Way ANOVA was used to analyze the effects of topography and forest factors on seedling density,and a GLM(Generalized Linear Model) procedure was performed to examine the relationship between seedling density and microhabitat factors.The results indicated that elevation and canopy cover had highly significant effects on seedling density:bamboo seedling density was highest and showed the best regeneration at middle elevations(2800-3000 m) and under medium to medium-high canopy cover.Moss thickness,moss cover,and dead bamboo density were the most important microhabitat factors influencing the natural regeneration of bamboo:seedling density increased with increasing moss cover and moss thickness and decreased with increasing dead bamboo density.We propose that removal of dead bamboo and controlling grazing activities may accelerate the process of bamboo regeneration.LI Bo ZHANG Man ZHONG Xue MOERMOND Timothy RAN JiangHong YANG XuYu 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,17:4

17Anti-colon cancer activity of water-soluble polysaccharides extracted from Gloeostereum incarnatum via Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway显示文摘The incidence rate of colon cancer ranks the third among malignant tumors worldwide.Gloeostereum incarnatum(GI),a fungus with homology of medicine and food,has multiple pharmacological activities.It was investigated in this study that the anti-colon cancer effect of polysaccharides purifi ed from GI(GIPS)in ApcMinC/Gpt mice(an in situ colon cancer mouse model).Eight-week administration with GIPS at doses of 30 or 90 mg/kg strongly inhibited tumor growth including the reduction on numbers and the suppression of the size without infl uencing the animals’body weight and organ functions.According to the proteomics performing by antibody array,among 308 detected cytokines,GIPS significantly regulated 89 of them.Compared with vehicle-treated mice,GIPS effectively reduced the levels of interleukin(IL)-1β,IL-4,IL-6,IL-17,IL-22,tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α,matrix metalloproteinase(MMP)-2,and enhanced the levels of IL-15 and IL-18 in serum and/or colon tissues,which suggested its anti-inflammation of GIPS.GIPS suppressed nuclear aggregation of β-catenin,affected the expression of WNT1 and related proteins,thereby regulated the activation of the Wnt signaling.Altogether,GIPS can inhibit the growth of colon cancer,at least partially,via inhibiting the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway.Jiawei He Anhui Yang Xuyu Zhao Yang Liu Shuyan Liu Di Wang 2021Food Science and Human Wellness2021,10,4:1

19Mesopore-encaged V-Mn oxides:Progressive insertion approach triggering reconstructed active sites to enhance catalytic oxidative desulfuration显示文摘The oxidative desulphurization(ODS)has become mainly popular by rapid catalytic oxidation of dibenzothiophene(DBT)relied on efficient heterogeneous catalyst,V-based catalytic active species were regarded as the potential option in the activity-preferred ODS systems.Herein,we reported the redispersion of vanadium oxide(VO_(χ))on the mesoporous silica modified with manganese oxide(Mn_(3)O_(4)) through one progressive insertion approach of metal oxides in the silica.Impressively,mesoporeencaged vanadium-manganese oxides in the silica(VMn-MS)as the admirable output of excellent ODS catalyst was demonstrated compared to other monometal-modified counterparts and one-pot implanted one.The characterization results revealed the post-implanted VO_(χ) species not only deposited around the pre-covered Mn_(3)O_(4) on the mesoporous surface but also inserted the surface layer of Mn_(3)O_(4) inducing the amorphous evolution of aggregated Mn_(3)O_(4) and the reconstruction of final active sites.This integrated approach made the reconstructed active species afford more exposed catalytic sites and the tailored surface redox cycles owing to the electronic communication of V-Mn.The catalytic results demonstrated the excellent catalytic desulphurization efficiency(~100%)during 60 min at 80℃,which made the sulphur content reduce to 6 mg·L^(-1),remarkably superior to other comparative samples.The outstanding catalytic performance of VMn-MS catalyst can be ascribed to the synergistic effect of V-Mn dual metals rendering two different reaction pathways,which includes free-radical reaction and ring-forming reaction,where Mn site acted as active center triggering reactive free radicals which could be further optimized by surrounded V sites around Mn sites to promote the ODS process.Fu Yang Ruyi Wang Shijian Zhou Xuyu Wang Yan Kong Shuying Gao 2022Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,35,5:1
20Superb VOCs capture engineering carbon adsorbent derived from shaddock peel owning uncompromising thermal-stability and adsorption property显示文摘High applied thermal-stability and superior structural property for activated carbon adsorbent are extremely promising,which also is the determining short slab in volatile organic compounds(VOCs)adsorption applications.Herein,we develop the outstanding engineering carbon adsorbents from waste shaddock peel which affords greatly-enhanced thermal-stability and super structural property(S_(Lang)=4962.6 m2·g^(-1),Vmicro=1.67 cm^(3)·g^(-1)).Such character endows the obtained adsorbent with ultrahigh adsorption capture performance of VOCs specific to benzene(16.58 mmol·g^(-1))and toluene(15.50 mmol·g^(-1),far beyond traditional zeolite and activated carbon even MOFs materials.The structural expression characters were accurately correlated with excellent adsorption efficiency of VOCs by studying synthetic factor-controlling comparative samples.Ulteriorly,adsorption selectivity prediction at different relative humidity was demonstrated through DIH(difference of the isosteric heats),exceedingly highlighting great superiority(nearly sixfold)in selective adsorption of toluene compared to volatile benzene.Our findings provide the possibility for practical industrial application and fabrication of waste biomass-derived outstanding biochar adsorbent in the environmental treatment of threatening VOCs pollutants.Fu Yang Wenhao Li Rui Ou Yutong Lu Xuexue Dong Wenlong Tu Wenjian Zhu Xuyu Wang Lulu Li Aihua Yuan Jianming Pan 2022Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,35,7:1
