| 2 | Sonication-assisted dispersion of carbon nanotubes in aqueous solutions of the anionic surfactant SDBS:The role of sonication energy显示文摘Sonication is a powerful technique to promote the dispersion of carbon nanotubes(CNTs) and enhance their solubility;this is necessary for CNT applications,especially in the biochemical and biomedical fields.In this study,batch experiments were conducted to evaluate the role of sonication energy on the dispersion of CNTs in the presence of a widely used anionic surfactant,sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate(SDBS).It was observed that the concentration of dispersed CNTs in the SDBS solution depended on the sonication energy,but not the sonication time or output power of the sonicator alone.The amount of dispersed CNTs was positively correlated with the concentrations of SDBS and CNTs,and the length of the CNTs.The promotion of oxygen-containing functional groups on the dispersed CNTs was observed at relatively low sonication energies.The optimal energy,i.e.the minimum energy supplied by sonication to achieve a saturated suspension of dispersed CNTs in the SDBS solution,was CNT diameter-dependent,because of the larger vdW forces between tubes of smaller diameter.An exponential decay curve was constructed for the optimal energy values as a function of the outer CNT diameter,to assist in determining the energy needed to disperse CNTs. | YANG Kun YI ZiLi JING QingFeng YUE RenLiang JIANG Wei LIN DaoHui | 2013 | Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,18: | 5 |

This review introduces the thermal and non-thermal effects of microwaves and divides MW-based denitrification methods into MW reduction and oxidation denitrification, systematically summarizes these denitrification methods, including MW discharge reduction, MW-induced catalytic reduction using active carbon, molecular sieves, metal oxides(transition metals, perovskites, etc.), MW-induced oxidation denitrification with and without additional oxidant, and discusses their removal pathway and mechanism. | 11 | Preparation of InYO_3 catalyst and its application in photodegradation of molasses fermentation wastewater显示文摘An InYO 3 photocatalyst was prepared through a precipitation method and used for the degradation of molasses fermentation wastewater. The InYO 3 photocatalyst characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, surface area and porosimetry. Energy band structures and density of states were achieved using the Cambridge Serial Total Energy package (CASTEP). The results indicated that the photodegradation of molasses fermentation wastewater was significantly enhanced in the presence of InYO 3 when compared with PbWO 4 . The calcination temperature was found to have a significant effect on the photocatalytic activity of InYO 3 . Specifically, InYO 3 calcined at 700°C had a considerably larger surface area and lower reflectance intensity and showed higher photocatalytic activity. | 13 | The growth and properties of an m-plane InN epilayer on LiAlO_2 (100) by metal-organic chemical vapor deposition显示文摘The m-plane InN (1100) epilayers have been grown on a LiAlO2 (100) substrate by a two-step growth method using a metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) system. The low temperature InN buffer layer (LT-InN) is introduced to overcome the drawbacks of thermal instability of LiAlO2 (LAO) and to relieve the strains due to a large thermal mismatch between LAO and InN. Then the high temperature m-plane InN (1100) epilayers (HT-InN) were grown. The results of X-ray diffraction (XRD) suggest that the m-plane InN (1100) epilayer is a single crystal. The X-ray rocking curves (scans) (XRC) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) indicate that the m-plane InN (1100) epilayer has anisotropic crystallographic properties. | 17 | The growth temperatures dependence of optical and electrical properties of InN films显示文摘InN films grown on sapphire at different substrate temperatures from 550℃ to 700℃ by metalorganic chemical vapor deposition were investigated. The low-temperature GaN nucleation layer with high-temperature annealing (1100℃) was used as a buffer for main InN layer growth. X-ray diffraction and Raman scattering measurements reveal that the quality of InN films can be improved by increasing the growth temperature to 600℃. Further high substrate temperatures may promote the thermal decomposition of InN films and result in poor crystallinity and surface morphology. The photoluminescence and Hall measurements were employed to characterize the optical and electrical properties of InN films,which also indicates strong growth temperature dependence. The InN films grown at temperature of 600℃ show not only a high mobility with low carrier concentration,but also a strong infrared emission band located around 0.7 eV. | 18 | Carrier transport and luminescence properties of n-type GaN显示文摘The surface morphology,electrical properties and optical properties of Si doped n-type GaN were investigated. The intentional SiH4 doped GaN films were grown by metal organic chemical vapor deposition with the electron concentration varying from 3×1016 cm-3 to 5.4×1018 cm-3. The surface morphology shows that the roughness and dislocation pits increase as the mass flow rate of SiH4 increases,which indicates that the quality of GaN degrades gradually. The activation energy of Si in GaN with different n concentrations varies from 12 to 22 meV,which may originate from the interactions of donor wave functions. The carrier transport mechanism with increasing temperature from 100 to 420 K was concluded as the complex effect of both impurity scattering and phonon scattering. The position of the near band edge emission peak was determined by both renormalization of the band gap and B-M effect.
