1Trends in cancer mortality in China from 2004 to 2018:A nationwide longitudinal study显示文摘Background:The long-term trend in cancer death in a rapidly developing country provides information for cancer prophylaxis.Here,we aimed to identify the trends in cancer mortality in China during the 2004-2018 period.Methods:Using raw data from the national mortality surveillance system of China,we assessed the mortalities of all cancer and site-specific cancers during the 2004-2018 period.The participants were divided into three age groups:≥65 years,40-64 years,and≤39 years.Changing trends in cancer death by gender,residency,and tumor location were estimated using fitting joinpoint models to log-transformed crude mortality rates(CMRs)and age-standardizedmortality rates(ASMRs).Results:Cancer death accounted for 24% of all-cause of death in China during 2014-2018.The CMR of all cancer was 150.0 per 100,000 persons.Cancer was the leading cause of death in the population<65 years.The six major cancer types(lung/bronchus cancer,liver cancer,stomach cancer,esophagus cancer,colorectal cancer,and pancreas cancer)accounted for 75.85% of all cancer deaths.The CMR of all cancer increased while the ASMR decreased during 2014-2018(P<0.001).Lung/bronchus cancer and liver cancer were the leading causes of cancer death in the population<65 years,accounting for 45.31%(CMR)and 44.35%(ASMR)of all cancer death,respectively.The ASMR of liver cancer was higher in the 40-64 years population than in the≥65 years population,in contrast to the other five major cancers.The ASMRs of liver cancer,stomach cancer,and esophagus cancer decreased although they were higher in rural residents than in urban residents;the ASMRs of lung/bronchus cancer,colorectal cancer,and pancreas cancer increased in rural residents although they were higher in urban residents than in rural residents during 2014-2018.Conclusion:Although the ASMR of all cancer decreased in China during 2004-2018,lung/bronchus cancer and liver cancer remained the leading causes of cancer-related premature death.Lung/bronchus cancer,colorectal cancer,and pancreas cancer increased in rural residents.Dongming Jiang Lijuan Zhang Wenbin Liu Yibo Ding Jianhua Yin Rongbing Ren Qi Li Yifan Chen Jiaying Shen Xiaojie Tan Hongwei Zhang Guangwen Cao 2021Cancer Communications2021,41,10:23
2Discovery and preliminary study of the high tungsten and lithium contents in the Dazhuyuan bauxite deposit, Guizhou, China显示文摘Bauxite in China remains an urgently needed resource largely dependent on imports. Based on the study of the newly-discovered Dazhuyuan bauxite deposit in northeastern Guizhou, we have found new enrichment of tungsten and lithium in bauxite, with the highest WO 3 content up to 0.33% and the highest Li 2 O content up to 0.58%. The present paper reports the initial result, and the spatial distribution feature of W and Li in the ore body (with Li enriched mostly in the north part of the west limb of the Liyuan syncline, whereas W enriched mostly in the central part of the east limb). 3Annual variations of black carbon over the Yangtze River Delta from 2015 to 2018显示文摘In this study,the black carbon (BC) measurements in the atmosphere of Nanjing,China were continuously conducted from 2015 to 2018 using a Model AE-33 aethalometer.By combining dataset of PM_(2.5),PM_(10),CO,NO_2,SO_2,O_3 and meteorological parameters,the temporal variations and the source apportionment of BC were given in this study.The results showed that the PM_(2.5) mass concentrations decreased in Nanjing,with an average annual rate of variation of 6.50μg/(m^3·year).Differently,the annual average concentrations of BC increased with an average annual variation rate of 214.71 ng/(m^3·year).The seasonal variations showed the pattern of BC mass concentrations in winter>autumn>spring>summer.The diurnal variations of BC mass concentrations showed a double-peak in all four seasons.The first peak occurred at approximately 7:00 in spring,summer and autumn and around 8:00 in winter.The second peak took place after 18:00.The average AAE (absorption ?ngstr?m exponent) was 1.26 with a maximum of 1.35 during wintertime and the lowest(1.12) during summertime.In addition,the AAE was smaller in the daytime than that at night,with a minimum occurring between 13:00 and 14:00.BC and visibility show a good power-function relationship at different humidity levels.The average values of the visibility thresholds of the BC mass concentrations in spring,summer,autumn and winter were 1.326,5.522,1.340 and 0.708μg/m^3,respectively.The greater the relative humidity,the smaller the visibility threshold for the BC mass concentrations was.Yue Tan Honglei Wang Shuangshuang Shi Lijuan Shen Chen Zhang Bin Zhu Song Guo zhijun Wu Ziyi Song Yan Yin Ankang Liu 2020Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,10:8
4Characterization of the aerosol chemical composition during the COVID-19 lockdown period in Suzhou in the Yangtze River Delta,China显示文摘To control the spread of COVID-19,rigorous restrictions have been implemented in China,resulting in a great reduction in pollutant emissions.In this study,we evaluated the air quality in the Yangtze River Delta during the COVID-19 lockdown period using satellite and ground-based data,including particle matter(PM),trace gases,water-soluble ions(WSIs) and black carbon(BC).We found that the impacts of lockdown policy on air quality cannot be accurately assessed using MODIS aerosol optical depth(AOD) data,whereas the tropospheric nitrogen dioxide(NO_(2)) vertical column density can well reflect the influences of these restrictions on human activities.Compared to the pre-COVID period,the PM_(2.5),PM_(10),NO_(2),carbon monoxide(CO),BC and WSIs during the lockdown in Suzhou were observed to decrease by 37.2%,38.3%,64.5%,26.1%,53.3% and 58.6%,respectively,while the sulfur dioxide(SO_(2)) and ozone(O_(3)) increased by 1.5% and 104.7%.The WSIs ranked in the order of NO_(3)~->NH_(4)^(+)>SO_(4)^(2-)>Cl~->Ca^(2+)>K^(+)>Mg^(2+)>Na + during the lockdown period.By comparisons with the ion concentrations during the pre-COVID period,we found that the ions NO 3-,NH 4 +,SO_(4)^(2-),Cl~-,Ca^(2+),K^(+) and Na^(+) decreased by 66.3%,48.8%,52.9%,56.9%,57.9% and 76.3%,respectively,during the lockdown,in contrast to Mg^(2+),which increased by 30.2%.The lockdown policy was found to have great impacts on the diurnal variations of Cl~-,SO_(4)^(2-),Na^(+) and Ca^(2+).Honglei Wang Qing Miao Lijuan Shen Qian Yang Yezheng Wu Heng Wei Yan Yin Tianliang Zhao Bin Zhu Wen Lu 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,4:8

6Synthesis,structure and luminescence properties of metal-organic frameworks based on benzo-bis(imidazole)显示文摘Metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)constructed from conjugated organic ligands are candidates for hybrid photoactive materials with potential applications.Compared to that from the ligands only,the intensity and wavelength of the luminescence could be tuned after they were incorporated in extended framework.In this report,by using an organic ligand with azolate moiety,benzo-bis(imidazole)(H2BBI),we synthesized two new MOF structures.Framework 1([Co(H2BBI)(DMSO)2Cl2]n,DMSO=dimethyl sulfoxide),constructed from tetrahedral Co(II)and H2BBI,exhibits zigzag 1D structure.Meanwhile,framework 2([Cu2(H2BBI)3(DMSO)6(NO3)4]n),a layered structure with hcb topology,was assembled from tetragonal pyramidal Cu(II)and H2BBI.Furthermore,2 exhibits strong luminescence emission(ex=280 nm).A blue shift of 40 nm(from 359 nm to 319 nm)was observed in framework 2 compared to the free ligand,which could be explained by the ligand-to-metal charge transfer in the network.YIN XinBo SONG YuNa WANG Yang ZHANG LiJuan LI QiaoWei 2014Science China Chemistry2014,57,1:4
7Effect of minocycline on cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury显示文摘Minocylcine, a tetracycline derivate, has been shown to cross the blood-brain barrier and enter the central nervous system. In this study, cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury models were established using the suture method, and minocycline was immediately injected intraperitoneally after cerebral ischemia-reperfusion (22.5 mg/kg, initially 45 mg/kg) at a 12-hour interval. Results showed that after minocycline treatment, the volume of cerebral infarction was significantly reduced, the number of surviving cell in the hippocampal CA1 region increased, the number of apoptotic cells decreased, the expression of caspase-3 and poly(adenosine diphosphate-ribose) polymerase-1 protein was down-regulated, and the escape latency in the water maze test was significantly shortened compared with the ischemia-reperfusion group. 8Meiotic nuclear divisions 1(MND1)fuels cell cycle progression by activating a KLF6/E2F1 positive feedback loop in lung adenocarcinoma显示文摘Background:Considering the increase in the proportion of lung adenocarcinoma(LUAD)cases among all lung cancers and its considerable contribution to cancer-related deaths worldwide,we sought to identify novel oncogenes to provide potential targets and facilitate a better understanding of the malignant progression of LUAD.Methods:The results from the screening of transcriptome and survival analyses according to the integrated Gene Expression Omnibus(GEO)datasets and The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)data were combined,and a promising risk biomarker called meiotic nuclear divisions 1(MND1)was selectively acquired.Cell viability assays and subcutaneous xenograftmodelswere used to validate the oncogenic role ofMND1 in LUADcell proliferation and tumor growth.Aseries of assays,including mass spectrometry,co-immunoprecipitation(Co-IP),and chromatin immunoprecipitation(ChIP),were performed to explore the underlying mechanism.Results:MND1 up-regulation was identified to be an independent risk factor for overall survival in LUAD patients evaluated by both tissue microarray staining and third party data analysis.In vivo and in vitro assays showed that MND1 promoted LUAD cell proliferation by regulating cell cycle.The results of the Co-IP,ChIP and dual-luciferase reporter assays validated that MND1 competitively bound to tumor suppressor Kruppel-like factor 6(KLF6),and thereby protecting E2F transcription factor 1(E2F1)from KLF6-induced transcriptional repression.Luciferase reporter and ChIP assays found that E2F1 activated MND1 transcription by binding to its promoter in a feedback manner.Conclusions:MND1,KLF6,and E2F1 form a positive feedback loop to regulate cell cycle and confer DDP resistance in LUAD.MND1 is crucial for malignant progression and may be a potential therapeutic target in LUAD patients.Quanli Zhang Run Shi Yongkang Bai Lijuan Meng Jingwen Hu Hongyu Zhu Tongyan Liu Xiaomeng De Siwei Wang Jie Wang Lin Xu Guoren Zhou Rong Yin 2021Cancer Communications2021,41,6:2
9Chloride channel blocker 4,4-diisothiocyanatostilbene-2,2'-disulfonic acid inhibits nitric oxide-induced apoptosis in cultured rat hippocampal neurons显示文摘Apoptosis in cultured rat hippocampal neurons was induced using the nitric oxide donor 3-morpholinosydnonimine, and cells were treated with the chloride channel blocker, 4,4-diisothiocyanatostilbene-2,2'-disulfonic acid. Results showed that the survival rate of neurons was significantly increased after treatment with 4,4-diisothiocyanatostilbene-2,2'-disulfonic acid, and the rate of apoptosis decreased. In addition, the expression of the apoptosis-related proteins poly(adenosine diphosphate-ribose)polymerase-1 and apoptosis-inducing factor were significantly reduced. 11Photosynthetic profiling of a Dunaliella salina mutant DS240G-1 with improved β-carotene productivity induced by heavy ions irradiation显示文摘Carbon-ion irradiation is a technique for trait improvement in the microalgae,but the underlying mechanisms that how it altered the biomass,and photosynthetic pigments accumulation were unclear.One mutant(DS240G-1)was obtained from Dunaliella salina by heavy ion irradiation mutagenesis.Compared to the wild type,the biomass accumulation and maximum growth rate of DS240G-1 were increased by 34%and 55%respectively,and itsβ-carotene content was 21%higher than the wild type.Subsequent analysis of the chlorophyll fluorescence parameters indicated that higherβ-carotene productivity was likely owing to the improved maximum quantum efficiency(Fv/Fm)and decreased thermal dissipation of photosynthesis in DS240G-1 than that of wild type during cultivation.In addition,the result of this study revealed that high content of ROS may induceβ-carotene accumulation in mutant DS240G-1.Also,the total fatty acid(TFA)content in mutant DS240G-1 was 79%higher than that in wild type.Owing to its highβ-carotene productivity and total fatty acid content,DS240G-1 could be considered as a promising candidate for microalgaeβ-carotene and biodiesel production.This work provided the first insight into the biological effects involved in carbon-ions irradiation on the photosynthetic activity of D.salina.Yimei Xi Ying Liu Zhanyou Chi Liang Yin Lijuan Wang Guanghong Luo 2021International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2021,14,2:1

14Effects of calcium channel on 3-morpholinosydnonimine-induced rat hippocampal neuronal apoptosis显示文摘Previous studies have demonstrated that increased chloride channel activity plays a role in nitric oxide-induced neuronal apoptosis in the rat hippocampus. The present study investigated the effects of the broad-spectrum calcium channel blocker CdCl2 on survival rate, percentage of apoptosis, and morphological changes in hippocampal neurons cultured in vitro, as well as the effects of calcium channels on neuronal apoptosis. The chloride channel blockers 4-acetamido-4'-isothiocyanatostilbene-2, 2'-disulfonic acid (SITS) or 4, 4'-diisothiocyanostilbene-2, 2'-disulfonic acid (DIDS) increased the survival rate of 3-morpholinosydnonimine (SIN-1)-treated neurons and suppressed SIN-1-induced neuronal apoptosis. The calcium channel blocker CdCl2 did not increase the survival rate of neurons and did not affect SIN-1-induced apoptosis or SITS- or DIDS-suppressed neuronal apoptosis. 15Two types of cinnamoyl-Co A reductase function divergently in accumulation of lignins,flavonoids and glucosinolates and enhance lodging resistance in Brassica napus显示文摘Brassica crops,which are of worldwide importance,provide various oil,vegetable and ornamental products,as well as feedstocks for animal husbandry and biofuel industry.Cinnamoyl-Co A reductase(CCR)is the entry point to the lignin pathway and a crucial locus in manipulation of associated traits,but CCRassociated metabolism and traits in Brassica crops have remained largely unstudied except in Arabidopsis thaliana.We report the identification of 16 CCR genes from Brassica napus and its parental species B.rapa and B.oleracea.The Bn CCR1 and Bn CCR2 subfamilies displayed divergent organ-specificity and participation in the yellow-seed trait.Their functions were dissected via overexpression of representative paralogs in B.napus.Bn CCR1 was expressed preferentially in G-and H-lignin biosynthesis and vascular development,while Bn CCR2 was expressed in S-lignin biosynthesis and interfascicular fiber development.Bn CCR1 showed stronger effects on lignification-related development,lodging resistance,phenylpropanoid flux control,and seed coat pigmentation,whereas Bn CCR2 showed a stronger effect on sinapate biosynthesis.Bn CCR1 upregulation delayed bolting and flowering time,while Bn CCR2 upregulation weakened the leaf vascular system in consequence of suppressed G-lignin accumulation.Bn CCR1 and Bn CCR2 were closely but almost oppositely linked with glucosinolate metabolism via inter-pathway crosstalk.We conclude that Bn CCR1 and Bn CCR2 subfamilies offer great but differing potential for manipulating traits associated with phenylpropanoids and glucosinolates.This study reveals the CCR1–CCR2 divergence in Brassicaceae and offers a resource for rapeseed breeding for lodging resistance,yellowseed traits,and glucosinolate traits.Nengwen Yin Bo Li Xue Liu Ying Liang Jianping Lian Yufei Xue Cunmin Qu Kun Lu Lijuan Wei Rui Wang Jiana Li Yourong Chai 2022The Crop Journal2022,10,3:1

19EGFR signaling promotes nuclear translocation of plasma membrane protein TSPAN8 to enhance tumor progression via STAT3-mediated transcription显示文摘TSPAN family of protei ns are gen erally con sidered to assemble as multimeric complexes on the plasma membra ne.Our previous work uncovered that TSPAN8 can translocate into the nucleus as a membrane-free form,a process that requires TSPAN8 palmitoylation and association with cholesterol to promote its extraction from the plasma membrane and subsequent binding with 14-3-30 and importin-p.However,what upstream signal(S)regulate(s)the nuclear translocation of TSPAN8,the potential function of TSPAN8 in the n ucleus,and the un derlying molecular mechanisms all remai n unclear.Here,we dem on strate that,epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR)signaling induces TSPAN8 nuclear translocation by activating the kinase AKTZ which in turn directly phosphorylates TSPAN8 at Ser129,an event essential for its binding with 14-3-30 and importin B1.In the nucleus,phosphorylated TSPAN8 interacts with STAT3 to enhance its chromatin occupancy and therefore regulates transcription of downstream cancer-promoting genes,such as MYC,BCL2,MMP9,etc.The EGFR-AKT-TSPAN8-STAT3 axis was found to be hyperactivated in multiple human cancers,and associated with aggressive phe no type and dismal prog nosis.We further developed a humanized mono clonal antibody hT8Ab4 that specifically recognizes the large extracellular loop of TSPAN8(TSPAN8-LEL),thus being able to block the extract!on of TSPAN8 from the plasma membrane and consequently its nuclear localization.Importantly,both in vitro and in vivo studies demonstrated an antitumor effect of hT8Ab4.Collectively,we discovered an unconventional function of TSPAN8 and dissected the underlying molecular mechanisms,which not only showcase a new layer of biological complexity of traditional membrane proteins,but also shed light on TSPAN8 as a novel therapeutic target for refractory cancers.Xiaoqing Lu Liwei An Guangjian Fan Lijuan Zang Weiyi Huang Junjian Li Jun Liu Weiyu Ge Yuwei Huang Jingxuan Xu Shaoqian Du Tianhao Zhou Huijing Yin Li Yu Shi Jiao Hongxia Wang 2022Cell Research2022,32,4:1
