1Altered trends in carbon uptake in China’s terrestrial ecosystems under the enhanced summer monsoon and warming hiatus显示文摘The carbon budgets in terrestrial ecosystems in China are strongly coupled with climate changes.Over the past decade,China has experienced dramatic climate changes characterized by enhanced summer monsoon and decelerated warming.However,the changes in the trends of terrestrial net ecosystem production(NEP)in China under climate changes are not well documented.Here,we used three ecosystem models to simulate the spatiotemporal variations in China's NEP during 1982–2010 and quantify the contribution of the strengthened summer monsoon and warming hiatus to the NEP variations in four distinct climatic regions of the country.Our results revealed a decadal-scale shift in NEP from a downtrend of–5.95 Tg C/yr^2(reduced sink)during 1982–2000 to an uptrend of 14.22 Tg C/yr^2(enhanced sink)during 2000–10.This shift was essentially induced by the strengthened summer monsoon,which stimulated carbon uptake,and the warming hiatus,which lessened the decrease in the NEP trend.Compared to the contribution of 56.3%by the climate effect,atmospheric CO2 concentration and nitrogen deposition had relatively small contributions(8.6 and 11.3%,respectively)to the shift.In conclusion,within the context of the global-warming hiatus,the strengthening of the summer monsoon is a critical climate factor that enhances carbon uptake in China due to the asymmetric response of photosynthesis and respiration.Our study not only revealed the shift in ecosystem carbon sequestration in China in recent decades,but also provides some insight for understanding ecosystem carbon dynamics in other monsoonal areas.Honglin He Shaoqiang Wang Li Zhang Junbang Wang Xiaoli Ren Lei Zhou Shilong Piao Hao Yan Weimin Ju Fengxue Gu Shiyong Yu Yuanhe Yang Miaomiao Wang Zhongen Niu Rcmg Ge Huimin Yan Mei Huang Guoyi Zhou Yongfei Bai Zongqiang Xie Zhiyao Tang Bingfang Wu Leiming Zhang Nianpeng He Qiufeng Wang Guirui Yu 2019National Science Review2019,6,3:24

3A Small-Scale Medication of Leflunomide as a Treatment of COVID-19 in an Open-Label Blank-Controlled Clinical Trial显示文摘We recently reported that inhibitors against human dihydroorotate dehydrogenase(DHODH)have broad-spectrum antiviral activities including their inhibitory efficacies on SARS-CoV-2 replication in infected cells.However,there are limited data from clinical studies to prove the application of DHODH inhibitors in Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)patients.In the present study,we evaluated Leflunomide,an approved DHODH inhibitor widely used as a modest immune regulator to treat autoimmune diseases,in treating COVID-19 disease with a small-scale of patients.Cases of 10 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 patients of moderate type with obvious opacity in the lung were included.Five of the patients were treated with Leflunomide,and another five were treated as blank controls without a placebo.All the patients accepted standard supportive treatment for COVID-19.The patients given Leflunomide had a shorter viral shedding time(median of5 days)than the controls(median of 11 days,P=0.046).The patients given Leflunomide also showed a significant reduction in C-reactive protein levels,indicating that immunopathological inflammation was well controlled.No obvious adverse effects were observed in Leflunomide-treated patients,and they all discharged from the hospital faster than controls.This preliminary study on a small-scale compassionate use of Leflunomide provides clues for further understanding of Leflunomide as a potential antiviral drug against COVID-19.Ke Hu Mengmei Wang Yang Zhao Yunting Zhang Tao Wang Zhishui Zheng Xiaochen Li Shaolin Zeng Dong Zhao Honglin Li Ke Xu Ke Lan 2020Virologica Sinica2020,35,6:7
4“Exploring petroleum inside source kitchen”: Shale oil and gas in Sichuan Basin显示文摘The Sichuan Basin is rich in shale oil and gas resources,with favorable geological conditions that the other shale reservoirs in China cannot match.Thus,the basin is an ideal option for fully'exploring petroleum inside source kitchen'with respect to onshore shale oil and gas in China.This paper analyzes the characteristics of shale oil and gas resources in the United States and China,and points out that maturity plays an important role in controlling shale oil and gas composition.US shale oil and gas exhibit high proportions of light hydrocarbon and wet gas,whereas Chinese marine and transitional shale gas is mainly dry gas and continental shale oil is generally heavy.A comprehensive geological study of shale oil and gas in the Sichuan Basin reveals findings with respect to the following three aspects.First,there are multiple sets of organic-rich shale reservoirs of three types in the basin,such as the Cambrian Qiongzhusi Formation and Ordovician Wufeng Formation-Silurian Longmaxi Formation marine shale,Permian Longtan Formation transitional shale,Triassic Xujiahe Formation lake-swamp shale,and Jurassic lacustrine shale.Marine shale gas enrichment is mainly controlled by four elements:Deep-water shelf facies,moderate thermal evolution,calcium-rich and silicon-rich rock association,and closed roof/floor.Second,the'sweet section'is generally characterized by high total organic carbon,high gas content,large porosity,high brittle minerals content,high formation pressure,and the presence of lamellation/bedding and natural microfractures.Moreover,the'sweet area'is generally characterized by very thick organic-rich shale,moderate thermal evolution,good preservation conditions,and shallow burial depth,which are exemplified by the shale oil and gas in the Wufeng-Longmaxi Formation,Longtan Formation,and Daanzhai Member of the Ziliujing Formation.Third,the marine,transitional,and continental shale oil and gas resources in the Sichuan Basin account for 50%,25%,and 30%of the respective types of shale oil and gas geological resources in China,with great potential to become the cradle of the shale oil and gas industrial revolution in China.Following the'Conventional Daqing-Oil'(i.e.,the Daqing oilfield in the Songliao Basin)and the'Western Daqing-Oil&Gas'(i.e.,the Changqing oilfield in the Ordos Basin),the Southwest oil and gas field in the Sichuan Basin is expected to be built into a'Sichuan-Chongqing Daqing-Gas'in China.Caineng ZOU Zhi YANG Shasha SUN Qun ZHAO Wenhua BAI Honglin LIU Songqi PAN Songtao WU Yilin YUAN 2020Science China Earth Sciences2020,63,7:6
5Internal structures and high-velocity frictional properties of Longmenshan fault zone at Shenxigou activated during the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake显示文摘This paper reports internal structures of a wide fault zone at Shenxigou,Dujiangyan,Sichuan province,China,and high-velocity frictional properties of the fault gouge collected near the coseismic slip zone during the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake.Vertical offset and horizontal displacement at the trench site were 2.8 m(NW side up)and 4.8 m(right-lateral),respectively.The fault zone formed in Triassic sandstone,siltstone,and shale about 500 m away from the Yingxiu-Beichuan fault,a major fault in the Longmenshan fault system.A trench survey across the coseismic fault,and observations of outcrops and drill cores down to a depth of 57 m revealed that the fault zone consists of fault gouge and fault breccia of about0.5 and 250–300 m in widths,respectively,and that the fault strikes N62°E and dips 68° to NW.Quaternary conglomerates were recovered beneath the fault in the drilling,so that the fault moved at least 55 m along the coseismic slip zone,experiencing about 18 events of similar sizes.The fault core is composed of grayish gouge(GG) and blackish gouge(BG) with very complex slip-zone structures.BG contains low-crystalline graphite of about 30 %.High-velocity friction experiments were conducted at normal stresses of 0.6–2.1 MPa and slip rates of 0.1–2.1 m/s.Both GG and BG exhibit dramatic slip weakening at constant high slip rates that can be described as an exponential decay from peak friction coefficient lpto steadystate friction coefficient lssover a slip-weakening distance Dc.Deformation of GG and BG is characterized by overlapped slip-zone structures and development of sharp slickenside surfaces,respectively.Comparison of our data with those reported for other outcrops indicates that the high-velocity frictional properties of the Longmenshan fault zones are quite uniform and the high-velocity weakening must have promoted dynamic rupture propagation during the Wenchuan earthquake.Yu Wang Shengli Ma Toshihiko Shimamoto Lu Yao Jianye Chen Xiaosong Yang Honglin He Jiaxiang Dang Linfeng Hou Tetsuhiro Togo 2014Earthquake Science2014,27,5:3

7Layer-by-Layer Assembled Bacterial Cellulose/Graphene Oxide Hydrogels with Extremely Enhanced Mechanical Properties显示文摘Uniform dispersion of two-dimensional(2 D) graphene materials in polymer matrices remains challenging. In this work, a novel layer-by-layer assembly strategy was developed to prepare a sophisticated nanostructure with highly dispersed 2 D graphene oxide in a three-dimensional matrix consisting of onedimensional bacterial cellulose(BC) nanofibers. This method is a breakthrough, with respect to the conventional static culture method for BC that involves multiple in situ layer-by-layer assembly steps at the interface between previously grown BC and the culture medium. In the as-prepared BC/GO nanocomposites, the GO nanosheets are mechanically bundled and chemically bonded with BC nanofibers via hydrogen bonding,forming an intriguing nanostructure. The sophisticated nanostructure of the BC/GO leads to greatly enhanced mechanical properties compared to those of bare BC. 8Human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells for psoriasis:a phase 1/2a,single-arm study显示文摘Psoriasis is a common,chronic immune-mediated systemic disease that had no effective and durable treatment.Mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)have immunomodulatory properties.Therefore,we performed a phase 1/2a,single-arm clinical trial to evaluate the safety and efficacy of human umbilical cord-derived MSCs(UMSCs)in the treatment of psoriasis and to preliminarily explore the possible mechanisms.Seventeen patients with psoriasis were enrolled and received UMsC infusions.Adverse events,laboratory parameters,PASl,and PGA were analyzed.We did not observe obvious side effects during the treatment and 6-month follow-up.A total of 47.1%(8/17)of the psoriasis patients had at least 40%improvement in the PASl score,and 17.6%(3/17)had no sign of disease or minimal disease based on the PGA score.And the efficiency was 25%(2/8)for males and 66.7%(6/9)for females.After UMSC transplantation(UMSCT),the frequencies of Tregs and CD4^(+)memory T cells were significantly increased,and the frequencies of T helper(Th)17 and CD4^(+)naive T cells were significantly decreased in peripheral blood(PB)of psoriasis patients.And all responders showed significant increases in Tregs and CD4^(+)memory T cells,and significant decreases in Th17 cells and serum IL-17 level after UMsCT.And baseline level of Tregs in responders were significantly lower than those in nonresponders.In conclusion,allogeneic UMSCT is safe and partially effective in psoriasis patients,and level of Tregs may be used as a potent biomarker to predict the clinical efficacy of UMSCT.Trial registration Clinical Trials NCT03765957.Lamei Cheng Siqi Wang Cong Peng Xiao Zou Chao Yang Hua Mei Chuang Li Xian Su Na Xiao Qi Ouyang Mi Zhang Qiaolin Wang Yan Luo Minxue Shen Qun Qin Honglin Wang Wu Zhu Guangxiu Lu Ge Lin Yehong Kuang Xiang Chen 2022Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,9:2
9Analysis and prediction of 100 km-scale atmo-spheric duct interference in TD-LTE networks显示文摘Atmospheric ducts are horizontal layers that occur under certain weather conditions in the lower atmosphere.Radio signals guided in atmospheric ducts tend to experience less attenuation and spread much farther,i.e,hundreds of kilometers.In a large-scale deployed TD-LTE(Time Division Long Term Evolution)network,atmospheric ducts cause faraway downlink wireless signals to propagate beyond the designed protection distance and interfere with local uplink signals,thus resulting in a large outage probability.In this paper,we analyze the characteristics of ADI atmospheric duct interference(Atmospheric Duct Interference)by the use of real network-side big data from the current operated TD-LTE network owned by China Mobile.The analysis results yield the time varying and directional characteristics of ADI.In addition,we proposed an SVM(Support Vector Machine)-classi er based spacial prediction method of ADI by machine learning over combination of real network-side big data and real meteorological data.Furthermore,an implementation of ADMM(Alternating Direction Methods of Multipliers)framework is proposed to implement a distributed SVM prediction scheme,which reduces data exchange among di erent regions/cities,maintains similar prediction accuracy and is thus of a more practical use to operators.Ting Zhou Tianyu Sun Honglin Hu Hui Xu Yang Yang Ilkka Harjula Yevgeni Koucheryavy 2017Journal of Communications and Information Networks2017,2,1:2

11Parameter optimization of control system design for uncertain wireless power transfer systems using modified genetic algorithm显示文摘The closed-loop wireless power transfer(WPT)system can realize constant voltage output in the presence of perturbation.However,the parameter design of the controller is a difficult problem.The traditional trial-and-error method is time-consuming and difficult to find optimal parameters.A parameter optimization strategy of control systems for uncertain WPT systems using the modified genetic algorithm(MGA)is proposed.Firstly,because the system has different characteristics at different periods,the simulation process is divided into three stages.The first one is the start-up stage,in which we mainly consider the overshoot and the rate of the voltage rise.The second one is the tracking stage,in which the tracking time and switching loss are mainly considered.The third one is the stabilisation stage,in which the steady-state error and switching loss are mainly considered.Secondly,three cost functions are designed according to the characteristics of the three stages,and then the optimal controller parameters of each stage are obtained by using MGA.Finally,the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by simulation.The optimization results show that compared with the previous parameter optimization method,the optimal controller parameters obtained by the proposed method make the WPT system achieve better performance.Xudong Gao Wenjie Cao Qiang Yang Honglin Wang Xiaolei Wang Guang Jin Jun Zhang 2022CAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology2022,7,4:1

16A Fast Approach for Predicting Aerodynamic Noise Sources of High-Speed Train Running in Tunnel显示文摘The aerodynamic noise of high-speed trains passing through a tunnel has gradually become an important issue.Numerical approaches for predicting the aerodynamic noise sources of high-speed trains running in tunnels are the key to alleviating aerodynamic noise issues.In this paper,two typical numerical methods are used to calculate the aerodynamic noise of high-speed trains.These are the static method combined with non-reflective boundary conditions and the dynamic mesh method combined with adaptive mesh.The fluctuating pressure,flow field and aerodynamic noise source are numerically simulated using the abovemethods.The results showthat the fluctuating pressure,flow field structure and noise source characteristics obtained using different methods,are basically consistent.Compared to the dynamic mesh method,the pressure,vortex size and noise source radiation intensity,obtained by the static method,are larger.The differences are in the tail car and its wake.The two calculation methods show that the spectral characteristics of the surface noise source are consistent.The maximum difference in the sound pressure level is 1.9 dBA.The static method is more efficient and more suitable for engineering applications.Deng Qin Tian Li Honglin Wang Jizhong Yang Yao Jiang Jiye Zhang Haiquan Bi 2022Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2022,,3:1

18Cooperative wireless networks for better green services显示文摘In order to guarantee the overall return on investment (ROI), improve user experience and quality of service (QoS), save energy, reduce electra magnetic interference (EMI) and radiation pollution, and enable the sustainable deployment of new profitable applications and services in heterogeneous wireless networks coexistence reality, this paper proposes a cross-network cooperation mechanism to effectively share network resources and infrastructures, and then adaptively control and match multi-network energy distribution characteristics according to actual user/service requirements in different geographic areas. Some idle or lightly-loaded base stations (BS or BSs) will be temporally turned off for saving energy and reducing EMI.
