1Correlation of E-selectin gene polymorphisms with risk of ischemic stroke A meta-analysis显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the association of E-selectin S128R polymorphisms with ischemic stroke. DATA SOURCES: A computer-based online search was conducted in PubMed, Elsevier, Ovid Database, the China National Knowledge Infrastructure, and Wanfang Database between January 1998 and December 2010. STUDY SELECTION: Case-controlled studies addressing the association of the E-selectin polymorphism and ischemic stroke were included in this review. The genotype distribution complied with the Hardy-Weinberg genetic equilibrium. The included reports were evaluated by two authors for strict quality screening. Meta-analysis software, REVMAN 5.1, was used to investigate heterogeneity, pooled odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) in individual studies. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Genotype and allele distributions at the E-selectin S128R site. RESULTS: Six case-controlled studies were included after screening and application of inclusion and exclusion criteria. There was no heterogeneity in the genotype and allele frequencies, and no publication bias was found. Meta-analysis of the pooled data showed that the OR value of the (AC+CC)/AA genotype was 1.93 (95% CI: 1.55-2.41, Z = 5.80, P < 0.000 01), and the OR for the C/A allele was 1.80 (95% CI: 1.47-2.22, Z = 5.59, P < 0.000 01) in the ischemic stroke group, compared with control group. Results of pooled data in Chinese subjects showed that the OR value of (AC+CC)/AA was 2.36 (95% CI: 1.68-3.31, Z = 4.99, P < 0.000 01), and the OR value of the C/A allele was 2.25 (95% CI: 1.63-3.12, Z = 4.89, P < 0.000 01). 2Application of next-generation sequencing technology to precision medicine in cancer: joint consensus of the Tumor Biomarker Committee of the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology显示文摘Next-generation sequencing(NGS) technology is capable of sequencing millions or billions of DNA molecules simultaneously.Therefore, it represents a promising tool for the analysis of molecular targets for the initial diagnosis of disease, monitoring of disease progression, and identifying the mechanism of drug resistance. On behalf of the Tumor Biomarker Committee of the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology(CSCO) and the China Actionable Genome Consortium(CAGC), the present expert group hereby proposes advisory guidelines on clinical applications of NGS technology for the analysis of cancer driver genes for precision cancer therapy. This group comprises an assembly of laboratory cancer geneticists, clinical oncologists, bioinformaticians,pathologists, and other professionals. After multiple rounds of discussions and revisions, the expert group has reached a preliminary consensus on the need of NGS in clinical diagnosis, its regulation, and compliance standards in clinical sample collection. 4Impacts of Topographic Complexity on Modeling Moisture Transport and Precipitation over the Tibetan Plateau in Summer显示文摘The non-hydrostatic global variable resolution model(MPAS-atmosphere)is used to conduct the simulations for the South Asian Summer monsoon season(June,July,and August)in 2015 with a refinement over the Tibetan Plateau(TP)at the convection-permitting scale(4 km).Two experiments with different topographical datasets,complex(4-km)and smooth(60-km)topography,are designed to investigate the impacts of topographical complexity on moisture transport and precipitation.Compared with the observations and reanalysis data,the simulation can successfully capture the general features of key meteorological fields over the TP despite slightly underestimating the inflow through the southern TP.The results indicate that the complex topography can decrease the inward and outward moisture transport,ultimately increasing the total net moisture transport into the TP by~11%.The impacts of complex topography on precipitation are negligible over the TP,but the spatial distributions of precipitation over the Himalayas are significantly modulated.With the inclusion of complex topography,the sharper southern slopes of the Himalayas shift the lifted airflow and hence precipitation northward compared to the smooth topography.In addition,more small-scale valleys are resolved by the inclusion of complex topography,which serve as channels for moisture transport across the Himalayas,further favoring a northward shift of precipitation.Overall,the difference between the two experiments with different topography datasets is mainly attributed to their differing representation of the degree of the southern slopes of the Himalayas and the extent to which the valleys are resolved.Gudongze LI Haoming CHEN Mingyue XU Chun ZHAO Lei ZHONG Rui LI Yunfei FU Yanhong GAO 2022Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2022,39,7:3

6Oxygen intercalation under hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN)on Pt(111)显示文摘The interface between a two-dimensional(2D)atomic crystal and a metal surface can be regarded as a nanoreactor, in which molecule adsorption and catalytic reactions may occur. In this work, we demonstrate that oxygen intercalation and desorption occur at the interface between hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN) overlayer and Pt(111) surface by using near-ambient pressure X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(NAP-XPS), photoemission electron microscopy, and low-energy electron microscopy.Furthermore, CO oxidation under the h-BN cover was also observed by NAP-XPS. 14The high-quality sequencing of the Brassica rapa‘XiangQingCai’genome and exploration of genome evolution and genes related to volatile aroma显示文摘‘Vanilla’(XQC,brassica variety chinensis)is an important vegetable crop in the Brassica family,named for its strong volatile fragrance.In this study,we report the high-quality chromosome-level genome sequence of XQC.The assembled genome length was determined as 466.11 Mb,with an N50 scaffold of 46.20 Mb.A total of 59.50%repetitive sequences were detected in the XQC genome,including 47570 genes.Among all examined Brassicaceae species,XQC had the closest relationship with B.rapa QGC(‘QingGengCai’)and B.rapa Pakchoi.Two whole-genome duplication(WGD)events and one recent whole-genome triplication(WGT)event occurred in the XQC genome in addition to an ancient WGT event.The recent WGT was observed to occur during 21.59-24.40 Mya(after evolution rate corrections).Our findings indicate that XQC experienced gene losses and chromosome rearrangements during the genome evolution of XQC.The results of the integrated genomic and transcriptomic analyses revealed critical genes involved in the terpenoid biosynthesis pathway and terpene synthase(TPS)family genes.In summary,we determined a chromosome-level genome of B.rapa XQC and identified the key candidate genes involved in volatile fragrance synthesis.This work can act as a basis for the comparative and functional genomic analysis and molecular breeding of B.rapa in the future.Zhaokun Liu Yanhong Fu Huan Wang Yanping Zhang Jianjun Han Yingying Wang Shaoqin Shen Chunjin Li Mingmin Jiang Xuemei Yang Xiaoming Song 2023Horticulture Research2023,10,10:0

17Boron promoted Fe^(3+)/peracetic acid process for sulfamethazine degradation:Efficiency,role of boron,and identification of the reactive species显示文摘In this work,boron(B)was used to promote Fe^(3+)/peracetic acid(Fe^(3+)/PAA)for the degradation of sulfamethazine(SMT).An SMT degradation efficiency of 9.1%was observed in the Fe^(3+)/PAA system over 60 min,which was significantly increased to 99.3%in the B/Fe^(3+)/PAA system over 10 min.The B/Fe^(3+)/PAA process also exhibited superior resistance to natural substances,excellent adaptability to different harmful substances,and good removal of antibiotics in natural fresh water samples.The mechanism of action of boron for Fe^(3+)reduction was determined using scanning electron microscopy(SEM),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR)spectroscopy,density functional theory(DFT)calculations,and electrochemical tests.The dominant role of^(·)OH was confirmed using quenching experiments,electron spin resonance(EPR)spectroscopy,and quantitative tests.Organic radicals(R-O^(·))and Fe(IV)also significantly contribute to the removal of SMT.DFT calculations on the reaction between Fe^(2+)and the PAA were conducted to further determine the contribution from ^(·)OH,R-O^(·),and Fe(IV)from the perspective of thermodynamics and the reaction pathways.Different boron dosages,Fe^(3+)dosages,and initial pH values were also investigated in the B/Fe^(3+)/PAA system to study their effect of SMT removal and the production of the reactive species.Fe(IV)production determined the k_(R-O·+Fe(IV))value suggesting that Fe(IV)may play a more important role than R-O^(·).A comparison of the results with other processes has also proved that the procedure described in this study(B/Fe^(3+)/PAA)is an effective method for the degradation of antibiotics.Yanhong Zhang Guangbing Liu Yuzhu Xue Lichun Fu Yawei Qian Minhui Hou Xiang Li Chen Ling Ying Zhang Yuwei Pan 2024Journal of Environmental Sciences2024,,1:0

19Particle mixing behavior of fine coal in density control of gas-solid separation fluidized bed显示文摘In a gas-solid separation fluidized bed,mixing of fine coal is necessary to achieve a suitable bed density to enable effective separation of low rank coal.On the basis of a variety of mixture models,a gas-solid separation fluidized bed was judged,where fine coal particles of 0.6-1.0mm were uniformly mixed with magnetite powder.High-speed dynamic camera technology was combined with a slump-sampling method to study the mixing process of the fine coal in the fluidized bed.These results showed that limitations of the fluidized bed structure cause the mixing process to be dominated by lateral diffusion and supplemented by axial diffusion.Axial diffusion was mainly achieved through the ascension of bubbles,whereas lateral diffusion was determined by the bursting action of the gas bubbles at the surface of the bed and the undulating characteristics of the bed.The effective lateral diffusion coefficient increased exponentially with gas velocity but had no strong relationship with the bed height.As the feed point moved toward the center,fine coal began to diffuse to both sides,which shortened the time for the bed density stabilization from 20 to 5 min.The bed density of the layer was stabilized at approximately 1.75 g/cm3.The separation efficiency of the gas-solid separation fluidized bed containing binary mixtures was more obvious for 6-50 mm raw coal,with a probable error E of 0.16.Bo Lv Zhenfu Luo Yanhong Fu Bo Zhang Xingzong Qin Xiangnan Zhu 2020Particuology2020,18,3:0
20Associations between metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease and extrahepatic cancers:a cohort in China显示文摘Background:To evaluate the associations between a new definition of metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD)and extrahepatic cancers and compare with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).Methods:We enrolled 151,391 Chinese participants in the Kailuan cohort.Hepatic steatosis was detected by abdominal ultrasound.Fine and Gray competing risk regression models were used to estimate hazard ratios(HRs)and 95%confidence interval(CI)between MAFLD and extrahepatic cancers.Results:MAFLD was associated with increased risk of prostate(HR=1.49,95%CI:1.07-2.08)and obesity-related cancers,including thyroid(HR=1.47,95%CI:1.01-2.12),kidney(HR=1.54,95%CI:1.18-2.00),colorectal(HR=1.15,95%CI:0.98-1.34)and breast cancer(HR=1.31,95%CI:1.04-1.66).The results were consistent in NAFLD vs.non-NAFLD and MAFLD-NAFLD vs.neither FLD.Compared with the neither FLD group,the NAFLD-only group had a higher risk of extrahepatic cancers(HR=1.57,95%CI:1.18-2.09),esophageal(HR=5.11,95%CI:2.25-11.62),and bladder cancer(HR=3.36,95%CI:1.23-9.17).The additional risk of extrahepatic cancers(HR=1.42,95%CI:1.17-1.73),esophageal(HR=4.37,95%CI:2.55-7.49),and breast cancer(HR=1.99,95%CI:1.01-3.92)was observed in MAFLD with metabolic dysregulation,and kidney(HR=1.83,95%CI:1.38-2.43),prostate(HR=1.46,95%CI:1.00-2.14)and breast cancer(HR=1.33,95%CI:1.02-1.74)was observed in MAFLD with overweight and metabolic dysregulation,as well as colorectal(HR=1.45,95%CI:1.07-1.96)and prostate cancer(HR=2.44,95%CI:1.42-4.21)in MAFLD with three risk factors.Additionally,MAFLD with excessive alcohol consumption would increase extrahepatic cancers(HR=1.14,95%CI:1.01-1.29)and breast cancer(HR=7.27,95%CI:2.33-22.69)risk.Conclusions:MAFLD and NAFLD shared similar excessive risks of obesity-related cancers,suggesting a driving role of FLD in these cancers.Metabolic dysregulation beyond obesity may play additional kidney,colorectal,and prostate cancer risks in MAFLD patients.It may be helpful in the clinic to relieve symptoms by treating metabolic disorders and preventing adverse outcomes of extrahepatic cancers.Xiaojie Yuan Xiaomo Wang Shouling Wu Shuohua Chen Yanhong Wang Jierui Wang Ying Lu Yuanyuan Sun Qingjiang Fu Li Wang 2023Hepatobiliary Surgery and Nutrition2023,12,5:0
