| 1 | Myocardial infarction secondary prevention study (MISPS)显示文摘Background Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), especially herbal medicine, has been widely used in China and now is also being increasingly used in other countries for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Although many studies have demonstrated that certain Chinese herbal products are effective and safe for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, most of these lack sufficient quality. Therefore, large randomized clinical trials and further scientific research to determine its safety, effectiveness are necessary.QiShen YiQi Dripping Pills (QSYQDP) is a herbal preparation clinically used in the treatment and prevention of coronary artery disease. Preliminary observations have shown its safety and effectiveness. Methods/Design This randomized, controlled trial will recruit 3600 patients with a history of myocardial infarction. Patients will be randomized into two groups by a Centr-Randomized System. One group receives QSYQDP, the other group receive aspirin. This trial protocol will describe eligibility criteria, detailed information on the treatment definition, blinding, endpoints, statistical methods, sample size determination, data management, legal aspects, and the current status of the trial. Discussion This trial is one of the first randomized, controlled clinical trial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of traditional Chinese herbal medicine in the treatment and secondary prevention of coronary artery disease. | 2 | Cardioprotective mechanism of SGLT2 inhibitor against myocardial infarction is through reduction of autosis显示文摘Sodium-glucose cotransporter 2(SGLT2)inhibitors reduce cardiovascular mortality in patients with diabetes mellitus but the protective mechanism remains elusive.Here we demonstrated that the SGLT2 inhibitor,Empagliflozin(EMPA),suppresses cardiomyocytes autosis(autophagic cell death)to confer cardioprotective effects.Using myocardial infarction(Ml)mouse models with and without diabetes mellitus,EMPA treatment significantly reduced infarct size,and myocardial fibrosis,thereby leading to improved cardiac function and survival.In the context of ischemia and nutritional glucose deprivation where autosis is already highly stimulated,EMPA directly inhibits the activity of the Na^(+)/H^(+)exchanger 1(NHE1)in the cardiomyocytes to regulate excessive autophagy.Knockdown of NHE1 significantly rescued glucose deprivation-induced autosis.In contrast,overexpression of NHE1 aggravated the cardiomyocytes death in response to starvation,which was effectively rescued by EMPA treatment.Furthermore,in vitro and in vivo analysis of NHE1 and Beclin 1 knockout mice validated that EMPA s cardioprotective effects are at least in part through downregulation of autophagic flux.These findings provide new insights for drug development,specifically targeting NHE1 and autosis for ventricular remodeling and heart failure after Ml in both diabetic and non-diabetic patients. | Kai Jiang Yue Xu Dandan Wang Feng Chen Zizhuo Tu Jie Qian Sheng Xu Yixiang Xu John Hwa Jian Li Hongcai Shang Yaozu Xiang | 2022 | Protein & Cell2022,13,5: | 13 |
| 3 | Analysis of the effects of mass transfer on heat transfer in the process of moisture exchange across a membrane显示文摘A theoretical study was conducted to investigate the effects of mass transfer on heat transfer in the process of moisture exchange across a membrane and a mathematical model describing the heat transfer with consideration of the effect of mass transfer was developed.A dimensionless variable,ψi,which presents the degree to which the mass transfer affects the heat transfer,was proposed through theoretical analysis.With calculating of this dimensionless variable,the heat transfer coupled with mass transfer can be converted into a conventional heat transfer,making the heat transfer calculation simpler and more easily to understand.On the basis of theoretical analysis,the effects of mass transfer on heat transfer were numerically studied.The results show that,in the case that the temperature gradient and mass transfer are in the same direction,ψi is greater than unity,and the mass transfer acts to enhance the heat transfer;in the case that the temperature gradient and mass transfer are in opposite directions,ψi is less than unity,and the mass transfer works to hinder the heat transfer.When the mass flux is small,the effect of the mass transfer is weak.When the mass flux is large,the heat flux carried by the mass flux has a considerable impact on the heat flux,and ψi,deviates from unity significantly. | HU Teng MIN JingChun SONG YaoZu | 2010 | Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,12: | 8 |
| 4 | Analysis of the effects of the heat of sorption on the process of heat transfer in moisture exchange across a membrane显示文摘A theoretical study has been conducted to investigate the effects of mass transfer on heat transfer in moisture exchange across a membrane and a mathematical model describing the heat transfer process with consideration of the heat of sorption was established.A dimensionless variable,Ψ =JLλ /δ(T10-T20),which controls the effect of the heat of sorption on the heat transfer in membrane process,was obtained through theoretical analysis,and the effects of Ψ on the heat transfer process were analyzed.Results showed that in the case that the temperature gradient and mass transfer are in the same direction,the effective heat flux changes the direction at Ψ =1.For Ψ <1,the heat transfers from high to low temperature sides through the membrane,and the total thermal resistance increases with increasing the moisture flux across membrane or reducing the temperature difference between the bulk flows on the two sides of membrane.For Ψ >1,the overall effect of the heat and mass transfer is that the effective heat flux points from low to high temperature sides and the total thermal resistance decreases with increasing the mass flux or reducing the temperature difference.In the case that the tem-perature gradient and mass transfer are in the opposite directions,the existence of the heat of sorption acts to enhance the heat transfer from high to low temperature sides,causing a reduced total thermal resistance,and the greater the mass flux or the smaller the temperature difference,the smaller the total thermal resistance. | Teng Hu JingChun Min YaoZu Song | 2008 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2008,51,12: | 5 |
| 5 | Near-resonance enhanced label-free stimulated Raman scattering microscopy with spatial resolution near 130 nm显示文摘High-resolution optical microscopes that can break 180 nm in spatial resolution set to conventional microscopies are much-needed tools.However,current optical microscopes have to rely on exogenous fluorescent labels to achieve high resolution in biological imaging.Herein,we report near-resonance enhanced label-free stimulated Raman scattering(SRS)microscopy with a lateral resolution near 130 nm,in which the high-resolution image contrast originates directly from a low concentration of endogenous biomolecules,with sensitivity gains of approximately 23 times.Moreover,by using a 0.3-m-long optical fiber,we developed hyperspectral SRS microscopy based on spectral focusing technology.Attributed to enhancements in spatial resolution and sensitivity,we demonstrated highresolution imaging of three-dimensional structures in single cells and high-resolution mapping of large-scale intact mouse brain tissues in situ.By using enhanced high-resolution hyperspectral SRS,we chemically observed sphingomyelin distributed in the myelin sheath that insulates single axons.Our concept opens the door to biomedical imaging with~130 nm resolution. | Yali Bi Chi Yang Yage Chen Shuai Yan Guang Yang Yaozu Wu Guoping Zhang Ping Wang | 2018 | Light(Science & Applications)2018,7,1: | 4 |
| 6 | Climatology and seasonal variability of satellite-derived chlorophyll a around the Shandong Peninsula显示文摘The chlorophyll a(Chl a)is an important indicator of marine ecosystems.The spatiotemporal variation of the Chl a greatly aff ects the mariculture and marine ranching in coastal waters of the Shandong Peninsula.In the current study,the climatology and seasonal variability of surface Chl-a concentration around the Shandong Peninsula are investigated based on 16 years(December 2002-November 2018)of satellite observations.The results indicate that the annual mean Chl-a concentration is greater in the Bohai Sea than in the Yellow Sea and decreases from coastal waters to off shore waters.The highest Chl-a concentrations are found in Laizhou Bay(4.2-8.0 mg/m^(3)),Haizhou Bay(4.2-5.9 mg/m^(3))and the northeast coast of the Shandong Peninsula(4.4-5.0 mg/m^(3)),resulting from the combined eff ects of the intense riverine input and long residence time caused by the concave shape of the coastline.The seasonal Chl-a concentration shows a significant spatial variation.The Chl-a concentrations in these three subregions generally exhibit an annual maximum in August/September,due to the combined eff ects of sea surface temperature,river discharge and sea surface wind.In the southeast coast region,however,the Chl-a concentration is lowest throughout the year and reaches a maximum in February with a minimum in July,forced by the seasonal evolution of the Yellow Sea Cold Water and monsoon winds.The interannual Chl-a concentration trends vary among regions and seasons.There are significant increasing trends over a large area around Haizhou Bay from winter to summer,which are mainly caused by the rising sea surface temperature and eutrophication.In other coastal areas,the Chl-a concentration shows decreasing trends,which are clearest in summer and induced by the weakening land rainfall.This study highlights the differences in the Chl-a dynamics among regions around the Shandong Peninsula and is helpful for further studies of coupled physical-ecological-human interactions at multiple scales. | Xiukai SONG Yanzhen GU Fangguo ZHAI Peiliang LI Pengxia LIU Zizhou LIU Wenfan WU Yaozu CHEN Xiangyang JIANG Jianlong HE | 2021 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2021,39,4: | 3 |
| 7 | Field synergy principle of heat and mass transfer显示文摘Simultaneous heat and mass transfer widely exists in nature and engineering, and it is of vital importance to enhance heat and mass transfer efficiency. In this paper, field synergy equation of heat and mass transfer is derived from its energy equation. Results show that the total transferred heat (including the conducted heat and the heat transferred by mass diffusion through the heat transfer interface) is determined by the values of fluid velocity and enthalpy gradient as well as the value of synergy angle α of velocity vector and enthalpy gradient field. Decreasing the value of α enhances the heat and mass transfer. This means the higher the synergy of velocity vector and enthalpy gradient field, the higher the total transferred heat. | 10 | Seasonal variability in dissolved oxygen in the Bohai Sea,China显示文摘Deoxygenation has frequently appeared in coastal ecosystems over the past century due to the joint infl uence of increasing anthropogenically induced nutrient inputs and global warming.The semi-enclosed Bohai Sea is a typical system that is prone to deoxygenation,with regular hypoxia events consistently recorded in recent decades.Based on in-situ observation data collected in large-scale voyage surveys in the Bohai Sea during 2008-2017,the seasonal variability in dissolved oxygen(DO)and its controlling mechanisms were studied.The results indicated that in spring and autumn,the DO distributions exhibited similar spatial patterns in the surface and bottom layers,while in summer,its spatial distribution was characterized by large-scale oxygen-poor zones distributed off the Qinhuangdao Coast and the central southern Bohai Sea in the bottom layer.The controlling mechanisms of the DO distribution varied from season to season.Spring and autumn DO distributions were dominated by the seawater temperature.Under the combined eff ects of stratifi cation and decomposition,the summer bottom DO exhibited dual-core distribution.On the one hand,stratifi cation could greatly impede vertical mixing,resulting in reduced bottom DO replenishment.On the other hand,the increased bottom organic matter intensifi ed the decomposition processes,inducing massive DO consumption and elevated dissolved inorganic nitrogen concentrations.In addition,the stronger stratifi cation might be the reason for the more severe deoxygenation in the southern oxygen-poor zones in summer.Our study provides guidance for an in-depth understanding of the DO seasonality in the Bohai Sea and the mechanisms that modulate it and for the improvement of hypoxia forecasts in ocean models. | Yaozu CHEN Fangguo ZHAI Yanzhen GU Jing CAO Cong LIU Xingchuan LIU Zizhou LIU Peiliang LI | 2022 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2022,40,1: | 2 |
