| 1 | Biomechanical analysis of optic nerve injury treated by compound light granules and ciliary neurotrophic factor显示文摘In this study, rabbit models of optic nerve injury were reproduced by the clamp method. After modeling, rabbit models were given one injection of 50 ng recombinant human ciliary neurotrophic factor into the vitreous body and/or intragastric injection of 4 g/kg compound light granules containing Radix Angelicae Sinensis and Raidix Paeoniae Alba at 4 days after modeling, once per day for 30 consecutive days. After administration, the animals were sacrificed and the intraorbital optic nerve was harvested. Hematoxylin-eosin staining revealed that the injured optic nerve was thinner and optic nerve fibers were irregular. After treatment with recombinant human ciliary neurotrophic factor, the arrangement of optic nerve fibers was disordered but they were not markedly thinner. After treatment with compound light granules, the arrangement of optic nerve fibers was slightly disordered and their structure was intact. After combined treatment with recombinant human ciliary neurotrophic factor and compound light granules, the arrangement of optic nerve fibers was slightly disordered and the degree of injury was less than after either treatment alone. Results of tensile mechanical testing of the optic nerve showed that the tensile elastic limit strain, elastic limit stress, maximum stress and maximum strain of the injured optic nerve were significantly lower than the normal optic nerve. After treatment with recombinant human ciliary neurotrophic factor and/or compound light granules, the tensile elastic limit strain, elastic limit stress, maximum stress and maximum strain of the injured optic nerve were significantly increased, especially after the combined treatment. | 4 | Evaluating cost and benefit of air pollution control policies in China:A systematic review显示文摘China has put great efforts into air pollution control over the past years and recently committed to its most ambitious climate target.Cost and benefit analysis has been widely used to evaluate the control policies in terms of past performance,future reduction potential,and direct and indirect impacts.To understand the cost and benefit analysis for air pollution control in China,we conducted a bibliometric review of more than 100 studies published over the past two decades,including the current research progress,most commonly adopted methods,and core findings.The control target in cost and benefit analysis has shifted in three stages,from individual and primary pollution control,moving to joint prevention of multiple and secondary pollutants,and then towards synergistic control of air pollution and carbon.With the expansion of the research scope,the integrated assessment model has gradually demonstrated the necessity for long-term ex-anti policy simulation,especially for dealing with complex factors.To ensure long-term air quality,climate,public health,and sustainable economic development,substantial evidence from published studies has suggested that China needs to continue its efforts in the upstream adjustment of the energy system and industrial structure with multi-regional and-sector collaboration.This cost and benefit review paper provides decision-makers with the fundamental information and knowledge gaps in air pollution control strategies in China,and direction for facing future challenges. | Xinyuan Liu Chaoyi Guo Yazhen Wu Chen Huang Keding Lu Yuanhang Zhang Lei Duan Miaomiao Cheng Fahe Chai Fengqiao Mei Hancheng Dai | 2023 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,1: | 0 |
| 5 | A chromosome-scale reference genome of Lobularia maritima,an ornamental plant with high stress tolerance显示文摘Lobularia maritima(L.)Desv.is an ornamental plant cultivated across the world.It belongs to the family Brassicaceae and can tolerate dry,poor and contaminated habitats.Here,we present a chromosome-scale,high-quality genome assembly of L.maritima based on integrated approaches combining Illumina short reads and Hi–C chromosome conformation data.The genome was assembled into 12 pseudochromosomes with a 197.70 Mb length,and it includes 25,813 protein-coding genes.Approximately 41.94%of the genome consists of repetitive sequences,with abundant long terminal repeat transposable elements.Comparative genomic analysis confirmed that L.maritima underwent a species-specific whole-genome duplication(WGD)event~22.99 million years ago.We identified~1900 species-specific genes,25 expanded gene families,and 50 positively selected genes in L.maritima.Functional annotations of these genes indicated that they are mainly related to stress tolerance.These results provide new insights into the stress tolerance of L.maritima,and this genomic resource will be valuable for further genetic improvement of this important ornamental plant. | Li Huang Yazhen Ma Jiebei Jiang Ting Li Wenjie Yang Lei Zhang Lei Wu Landi Feng Zhenxiang Xi Xiaoting Xu Jianquan Liu Quanjun Hu | 2020 | Horticulture Research2020,7,1: | 0 |
| 6 | An integrative analysis of metabolomics,DNA methylation and RNASeq data reveals key genes involved in albino tea'Haishun 2'显示文摘Albino tea,a type of tea closely associated with the chlorophyll-deficient phenotype is of great interest due to its multiple benefits to human health.To explore the potential mechanisms involved in albino tea,we performed metabolomics,DNA methylation and RNA-Seq analysis of green and albino leaves in a special tea mutant'Haishun 2'.The albino leaves accumulated significantly less catechins compared with the green leaves,which is closely associated with their difference in chlorophyll formation.A total of 385 candidate genes were identified by the integrative analysis.Two NAC transcription factors were less methylated and highly up regulated in the albino leaves of'Haishun 2',which was the first identification of the key roles of NAC transcription factors in albino tea and worth further study.Many genes involved in catechin biosynthesis were down regulated in albino leaves,such as 4-coumarate-CoA ligase,flavonol synthase and leucoanthocyanidin reductase genes,suggesting chlorophyll formation is important for catechin biosynthesis.Furthermore,CsMYB5 and CsGSTF11 were found to be differentially methylated and expressed in albino and green leaves,indicating their potential roles in catechin accumulation.This was the first report of the integrative analysis of transcriptome and DNA methylation data in tea plants and the results suggest that the integrative analysis is useful for exploring key genes associated with epigenetic changes in tea plants. | Kang Wei Shuping Yu Qili Quan Shirin Aktar Mengdi He Yazhen Zhang Huihan Fang Rongmei Wu Li Ruan Peng Mao Peixian Bai Liyun Wu Hao Cheng Liyuan Wang | 2022 | Beverage Plant Research2022,2,1: | 0 |
| 7 | Impacts of climate change mitigation on agriculture water use:A provincial analysis in China显示文摘Agriculture consumes huge amounts of water in China and is profoundly affected by climate change.This study projects the agricultural water use towards 2030 under the climate change mitigation target at the provincial level in China by linking a computable general equilibrium(CGE)model and a regression model.By solving the endogeneities amongst agricultural water use,output and climate factors,we explore how these variables affect water use and further predict future trends through soft-link with the IMED|CGE model.It is found that sunshine duration has a slightly positive impact on water use.Furthermore,agricultural output will significantly drive agricultural water use based on historical data of the past 16 years.Results also show that carbon reduction would have a trade-offor co-benefit effect on water use due to regional disparity.Provinces with increasing agricultural exports,such as Xinjiang and Ningxia,would anticipate considerable growth in agricultural water use induced by carbon reduction.The soft-link method proposed by this study could be applied for future studies that aim to incorporate natural and geographical factors into human activities,and vice versa,for assessing sustainable development policies in an integrated way. | Chaoyi Guo Hancheng Dai Xiaorui Liu Yazhen Wu Xiaoyu Liu Yong Liu | 2020 | Geography and Sustainability2020,1,3: | 0 |
