| 1 | Influence of the impounding process of the Three Gorges Reservoir up to water level 172.5m on water eutrophication in the Xiangxi Bay显示文摘The water level of the Three Gorges Reservoir(TGR) rose to 172.5 m in two stages from September to November,2008.The hydrodynamic parameters and water quality parameters(e.g.flow velocity,temperature,turbidity and nutrient content) had been continuously monitored to reveal the influence of the impounding process of the TGR on the water eutrophication in the Xiangxi Bay(XXB).The maximal daily rise of the water level of the TGR was about 2.38 m.The water exchange between the mainstream(the Changjiang River) and the XXB of the TGR was enhanced by density current,and its main characteristics were a density-stratified flow in different directions.The water exchange reduced the differences of the water quality parameters(for example,temperature,turbidity,nutrient level,pH,etc.) between the mainstream and the XXB during the impounding process.Meanwhile,the water stability index in the mainstream remained small but it was lowered in the XXB.The main causes included the dilution by water of lower concentration of the chlorophyll a(Chl.a) entering from the mainstream,the decline of the water stability,and the increase of suspended silt,which induced the Chl.a to decrease in the XXB during the impounding process.The grade of the water eutrophication changed from middle eutrophic level to mesotrophic state in the process.However,as available nutrients were imported into the XXB from the mainstream during the impounding process the risk of water eutrophication increases in the XXB in the future. | YANG ZhengJian1,LIU DeFu1,JI DaoBin1,2 & XIAO ShangBin1,3 1 College of Civil & Hydroelectric Engineering,China Three Gorges University,Yichang 443002,China 2 School of Water Resources & Hydropower Engineering,Wuhan University,Wuhan 430072,China 3 Institute of Earth Environment,Chinese Academy of Sciences,Xi’an 710075,China | 2010 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2010,53,4: | 58 |
| 2 | Characteristics of one-year observation of VOCs,NOx, and O_3 at an urban site in Wuhan, China显示文摘A continuous online observation of ozone and its precursors(NOx, VOCs) was carried out in central urban Wuhan from September 2016 to August 2017. The concentration levels of ozone,NOx, VOCs and their variations in urban Wuhan were analyzed, as well as effects of VOCs on ozone photochemical generation and the main controlling factors for ozone production. During the observation period, the average concentrations of ozone and NOx in Wuhan was 22.63 and30.14 ppbv, respectively, and the average concentration of VOCs was 32.61 ppbv(42.3% alkanes,13.0% alkenes, 10.0% aromatics, 7.3% acetylene, 9.9% OVOCs, and 10.5% halohydrocarbons).Ozone concentration was higher in spring and summer as compared with autumn and winter,wheras VOCs and NOx concentratios were lower in spring and summer but higher in autumn and winter. Aromatics and alkenes, two of VOCs species, showed the highest contributions to ozone formation potential in Wuhan(35.7% alkenes, 35.4 aromatics, 17.5% alkanes, 8.6% OVOCs,1.6% halogenated hydrocarbons, and 1.4% acetylene). Among all VOCs species, those with the highest contribution were ethylene, m-xylene, toluene, propylene and o-xylene. | 3 | Re-Os dating of magnetite from the Shaquanzi Fe-Cu deposit,eastern Tianshan,NW China显示文摘Magnetite separates from the Shaquanzi Fe-Cu deposit in the eastern Tianshan are used for Re-Os geochronological study.Re-Os data show that magnetite separates contain ca.0.7 to 50.9 ppb Re and ca.16 to 63 ppt Os.Eight samples yield a model 3isochron age of(303±12)Ma(2),which is within uncertainty consistent with of the Re-Os date(295±7 Ma)of associated pyrite.Tectonic evolution shows that the Late Carboniferous Aqishan-Yamansu belt was a back-arc rift.Therefore,the Re-Os age of ca.300 Ma indicates that the Shaquanzi Fe-Cu deposit may have formed in a back-arc extensional environment and was closely related to mantle-derived magmatism.The successful application of Re-Os magnetite geochronology in the Shaquanzi Fe-Cu deposit suggests that the purity of magnetite,relatively high Re and Os contents,and the closure of Re-Os systematic are base factors for a successful Re-Os geochronology.There would be a good prospect for Re-Os geochronology for magnetite. | HUANG XiaoWen QI Liang WANG YiChang LIU YingYing | 2014 | Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,2: | 11 |

| 5 | Daily optimized model for long-term operation of the Three Gorges-Gezhouba Cascade Power Stations显示文摘This paper presents the step-by-step genetic algorithm based on artificial intelligence guidance and builds a long-term daily optimized operating model for the Three Gorges-Gezhouba Hydropower Complex with single generating set as the based operating unit. Actual operating data from 2004 to 2006 are used to verify the model, and results show that the simulation accuracy determined by measuring the total amount of cascade power generation reaches 99.66%. Statistic hydrological data of normal years and actual data of three years of 2004―2006 are respectively used to perform an optimized prediction of the power generation process and benefits in future when the water stored in the TGP Reservoir reaches 175 m level and power generation benefits under different operation modes, such as delayed subsiding water level, advance water storage, and adopting of different flood-limited water levels, are forecasted. In the case of years with normal inflows, the total amount of cascade power generation running on current specifications reaches 107500 GWh per year. If the commencement of water storage after the flood season is moved forward by 20 days, the amount of power generation can be increased by 3400 GWh per year. If the limited water level in the flood season is raised by three to five meters, the amount of power generation can be increased by 1600 to 3200 GWh per year. | 7 | Oxygen Isotope Exchange Kinetics Between Coexisting Minerals and Water in the Aral Granite Pluton of the Altay Mountains, Northern Xinjiang显示文摘Coexisting quartz, feldspar and biotite vary widely in their δ18O values and display a remarkable 18O/16O disequilibrium relation; especially, a quartz-feldspar reversal (△ 18OQUartz_feldspar< 0) exsists in the Aral granite pluton of the Altay Mountains, northern Xinjiang. The 18O / 16O exchange reaction definitely occurred between granite and water. Initial δ18O values of the granite and exotic fluid are evaluated by the mass balance consideration. The conventional method of discrimination between various magma derivations simply with δ18O values of either whole rock or separate minerals is misleading and unreliable. Experiments carried out by the authors show that the 18O / 16O exchange reaction is not accompanied by what geologists describe as petrological and mineralogical alteration effect. This decoupling relation implies that exchange reaction occurs at a relatively high temperature during subsolidus-postmagmatic cooling of magmas. | 9 | Efficiency of a re-usable Carius tube for determination of platinum group elements in ultramafic rocks显示文摘Digestion with aqua regia in Carius tube is commonly employed for determination of PGEs in geological samples. However, silicates cannot be completely dissolved by aqua regia and PGEs might partially remain in silicate residue. In this study, an ultramafic reference material was used to investigate the efficiencies of a new re-usable Carius tube after digestion at 220 and 240℃, and an autoclave-lined Carius tube at 260 and 280℃. The results show that about 10% of PGEs retained in the silicate residues at 220 and 5% still r℃ emains even digestion temperature increases to 280℃. These results agree with previous works that increasing the digestion pressure and temperature can achieve more effective dissolution. | 15 | Hydrogen and Oxygen Isotope Study on the Water-Rock Interaction of the Yinshan (Cu-) Pb-Zn-Ag Ore Deposit, Jiangxi Province显示文摘The δ18O values of vein quartz of different stages from the Yinshan ore deposit are constant around 16‰ and the calculated δ18OH2O values attain 8‰± ; the δDH2O values of fluid inclu-sions in vein quartz are constant at about-60‰. From the surface down to 1200 m below the δ18O values of altered rocks gradually decrease from 15‰± to 11‰± . Various water-rock inversion calculations indicate that the ore fluids were formed by the interaction between meteoric water and phyllite at 350℃ and the effective W/ R value of around 0.1. When the water-rock exchange in the upper mineralization system took place, the effective W / R value increased to 5.0 or more. | 16 | Sedimentary diagenesis of rudist shoal and its control on reservoirs: A case study of Cretaceous Mishrif Formation, H Oilfield, Iraq显示文摘Based on the core, cast thin section, whole rock analysis, conventional physical properties and high pressure mercury intrusion test, the sedimentary diagenesis characteristics of rudist shoal in Cretaceous Mishrif Formation of H Oilfield, Iraq and its control on the reservoir were studied. The rudist shoal of the Mishrif Formation develops in the high-stand systems tract and is distributed in the high places of paleogeomorphology on the edge of platform with strong hydrodynamic force. According to the relative sea level changes, lithologic evolution and sedimentary structure characteristics of the rudist shoal, the single rudist shoal is divided into four lithologic sections: A, B, C and D, that is, low-angle cross-bedding pelletoids-rudist packstone, low-angle cross-bedding and parallel bedding arene-rudist grainstone, parallel bedding rudist gravel limestone, and horizontal bedding carbonaceous mudstone. The complete sedimentary sequence of a single rudist shoal is often disrupted. Several rudist shoals superimpose to form thick rudist shoal sediment. The single rudist shoal thickness and lithologic sections assemblage change regularly in vertical direction. The rudist shoal has the characteristics of 'strong dissolution, weak cementation and strong compaction', forming pore-type reservoir with intergranular pores, intergranular dissolved pores, mold pores, and dissolved pores. With mainly coarse pore throats larger than 5 μm, the reservoir is of medium-high porosity and high permeability. There is lithological reverse cycles inside single shoals and between single shoals, with content of mud crystals decreasing from the bottom to the top, dissolution increasing, cementation decreasing in strength, pore throats getting larger, and physical properties turning better. | 17 | Microfluidic intestinal organoid-on-a-chip uncovers therapeutic targets by recapitulating oxygen dynamics of intestinal IR injury显示文摘Increasing evidence demonstrates that mammals have different reactions to hypoxia with varied oxygen dynamic patterns.It takes~24 h for tri-gas incubator to achieve steady cell hypoxia,which fails to recapitulate ultrafast oxygen dynamics of intestinal ischemia/reperfusion(IR)injury.Inspired from the structure of native intestinal villi,we engineered an intestinal organoid chip embedded with engineered artificial microvessels based on coaxial microfluidic technology by using pH-responsive ZIF-8/sodium alginate scaffold.The chip was featured on:(i)eight times the oxygen exchange efficiency compared with the conventional device,tri-gas incubator,(ii)implantation of intestinal organoid reproducing all types of intestinal epithelial cells,and(iii)bio-responsiveness to hypoxia and reoxygenation(HR)by presenting metabolism disorder,inflammatory reaction,and cell apoptosis.Strikingly,it was found for the first time that Olfactomedin 4(Olfm4)was the most significantly downregulated gene under a rapid HR condition by sequencing the RNA from the organoids.Mechanistically,OLFM4 played protective functions on HR-induced cell inflammation and tissue damage by inhibiting the NF-kappa B signaling activation,thus it could be used as a therapeutic target.Altogether,this study overcomes the issue of mismatched oxygen dynamics between in vitro and in vivo,and sets an example of next-generation multisysteminteractive organoid chip for finding precise therapeutic targets of IR injury. | Jinjian Huang Ziyan Xu Jiao Jiao Zongan Li Sicheng Li Ye Liu Ze Li Guiwen Qu Jie Wu Yun Zhao Kang Chen Jieshou Li Yichang Pan Xiuwen Wu Jianan Ren | 2023 | Bioactive Materials2023,,12: | 0 |
| 18 | Ordovician-Silurian Boundary Extinction and Its Relationship to Iridium and carbon Isotope Anomalies显示文摘The abundance distributions of more than 40 elements in the No. 502 Ordovician-Silurian (O/S) bounda-ry section at Fenxiang, Yichang have been studied by RNAA and INAA. The results show that in the bounda-ry bed, there is a distinctive Ir anomaly because the Ir concentration abruptly increases to 0.64 ppb.Furthermore, the Ir is positively correlated in abundance variation with some siderophile and sulphophile ele-ments. In the same bed of the O/S boundary section at Huanghuachang, Yichang, there is also a δ13C excur-sion. | 19 | Disruption of ER ion homeostasis maintained by an ER anion channel CLCC1 contributes to ALS-like pathologies显示文摘Although anion channel activities have been demonstrated in sarcoplasmic reticulum/endoplasmic reticulum(SR/ER),their molecular identities and functions remain unclear.Here,we link rare variants of Chloride Channel CLIC Like 1(CLCC1)to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(ALS)-like pathologies.We demonstrate that CLCC1 is a pore-forming component of an ER anion channel and that ALS-associated mutations impair channel conductance.CLCC1 forms homomultimers and its channel activity is inhibited by luminal Ca^(2+)but facilitated by phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate(PIP2).We identified conserved residues D25 and D181 in CLCC1 N-terminus responsible for Ca^(2+)binding and luminal Ca^(2+)-mediated inhibition on channel open probability and K298 in CLCC1 intraluminal loop as the critical PIP2-sensing residue.CLCC1 maintains steady-state[Cl^(–)]ER and[K+]ER and ER morphology and regulates ER Ca^(2+)homeostasis,including internal Ca^(2+)release and steady-state[Ca^(2+)]ER.ALS-associated mutant forms of CLCC1 increase steady-state[Cl^(–)]ER and impair ER Ca^(2+)homeostasis,and animals with the ALS-associated mutations are sensitized to stress challenge-induced protein misfolding.Phenotypic comparisons of multiple Clcc1 loss-of-function alleles,including ALS-associated mutations,reveal a CLCC1 dosage dependence in the severity of disease phenotypes in vivo.Similar to CLCC1 rare variations dominant in ALS,10%of K298A heterozygous mice developed ALS-like symptoms,pointing to a mechanism of channelopathy dominant-negatively induced by a loss-of-function mutation.Conditional knockout of Clcc1 cell-autonomously causes motor neuron loss and ER stress,misfolded protein accumulation,and characteristic ALS pathologies in the spinal cord.Thus,our findings support that disruption of ER ion homeostasis maintained by CLCC1 contributes to ALS-like pathologies. | Liang Guo Qionglei Mao Ji He Xiaoling Liu Xuejiao Piao Li Luo Xiaoxu Hao Hanzhi Yu Qiang Song Bailong Xiao Dongsheng Fan Zhaobing Gao Yichang Jia | 2023 | Cell Research2023,33,7: | 0 |
