1Uric formaldehyde levels are negatively correlated with cognitive abilities in healthy older adults显示文摘Recent studies have shown that the abnormal accumulation of endogenous formaldehyde could be a critical factor in age-related cognitive decline. The aim of this study was to estimate the correlation between uric formaldehyde and general cognitive abilities in a community-based elderly population, and to measure the extent and direction in which the correlation varied with demographic characteristics. Using a double-blind design, formaldehyde in human urine was analyzed by high-performance liquid chromatography(n = 604), and general cognitive abilities were measured using the Montreal Cognitive Assessment(MoCA). Demographic characteristics, in terms of age, gender, residential region, and education were taken into consideration. We found that uric formaldehyde levels were inversely correlated with the MoCA score, and the concentration varied with demographic features: higher odds of a high formaldehyde level occurred among the less educated and those living in old urban or rural areas. In cytological experiments, the level of cellular formaldehyde released into the medium increased as SH-SY5Y and BV2 cells were incubated for three days. Formaldehyde in excess impairedthe processes of N2a cells and neurites of primary cultured rat hippocampal cells. However, removal of formaldehyde markedly rescued and regenerated the processes of N2a cells. These results demonstrated a negative correlation between the endogenous formaldehyde and general cognitive abilities. 2Grazing alters environmental control mechanisms of evapotranspiration in an alpine meadow of the tibetan Plateau显示文摘Aims Evapotranspiration(Et)is an important component of the terrestrial water cycle and is easily affected by external disturbances,such as climate change and grazing.Identifying Et responses to grazing is instructive for determining grazing activity and informative for understanding the water cycle.Methods this study utilized 2 years(2014 and 2017)of eddy covariance data to test how grazing regulated Et for an alpine meadow ecosystem on the tibetan Plateau(tP)by path analysis.Important Findings Radiation dominated Et with a decision coefficient of 64-74%.the soil water content(SWc)worked as the limiting factor in the fenced site.However,in the grazing site,the limiting factor was the vapor pressure deficit(VPD).Grazing had large effects on Et because it greatly affected the water conditions.the SWc and VPD were enhanced by 14.63%and 4.36%in the grazing site,respectively.therefore,sufficient water was supplied to Et,especially during drought,and strengthened the transpiration pull.As a result,a favorable micrometeorological environment was created for Et.Grazing shifted the limiting factor of Et from the SWc to VPD,which weakened the limiting effect of the water conditions on Et and advanced the Et peak time.In addition,grazing altered the compositions of Et by changing the community structure,which directly resulted in an increased Et.In summary,grazing enhanced Et through altering the community structure and micrometeorological environments.the findings of this study further improve our understanding of the driving mechanisms of grazing on Et and will improve our predictions for the global water cycle.Tingting An Mingjie Xu Tao Zhang Chengqun Yu Yingge Li Ning Chen Jiaxing Zu Junxiang Li Juntao Zhu Yi Sun Tingting Zhao Guirui Yu 2019Journal of Plant Ecology2019,12,5:3

4Hippocampal activation of c-Jun N-terminal kinase,protein kinase B,and p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase in a chronic stress rat model of depression显示文摘Recent studies have shown that varied stress stimuli activate c-Jun N-terminal kinase(JNK),protein kinase B(Akt),and p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase(p38) signal transduction pathway,and also regulate various apoptotic cascades.JNK and p38 promote apoptosis,but Akt protects against apoptosis,in hippocampal neurons.However,changes in the transduction pathway in different regions of brain tissues in a chronic stress rat model of depression remain poorly understood.Results from this study showed that JNK phosphorylation levels were significantly greater in the stress group hippocampus compared with the control group(P < 0.05).No significant difference in JNK phosphorylation levels was detected in the rat cerebral cortex between stress and control groups,and no significant difference in Akt and p38 phosphorylation levels was detected in the rat hippocampus and cerebral cortex between stress and control groups(P > 0.05).These results suggested that the JNK signal pathway is activated by JNK phosphorylation and participates in pathophysiological changes in rat models of depression.Wei Dai Weidong Li Jun Lu Yingge A Ya Tu 2010Neural Regeneration Research2010,5,19:1
5Variations of sediment organic phosphorus and organic carbon during the outbreak and decline of algal blooms in Lake Taihu,China显示文摘In this study,sediment organic phosphorus(OP)and organic carbon(OC)in Lake Taihu,China,as well as their relationships,were analyzed during the outbreak and decline of algal blooms(ABs)over a five-month field study.The results showed synchronous temporal changes in the sediment OP and OC contents with the development of ABs.In addition,there was a significant positive correlation between the sediment OP and OC(p<0.01),suggesting simultaneous deposition and consumption during the ABs outbreak.The sediment OP and OC contents decreased significantly at the early and last stages of the ABs outbreak and increased at the peak of the ABs outbreak and during the ABs decline.These temporal variation patterns suggest that the sediment OC and OP contents did not consistently increase during the ABs outbreak,even though algae are an important source of organic matter in sediments.The depletion or enrichment of OC and OP in sediments may also depend on the scale of the ABs outbreak.The obtained results revealed significant differences in the sediment OC and OP contents between the months(p<0.05).In addition,OP in the sediments was dominated by orthophosphate diester(phospholipids and DNA-P)and orthophosphate monoester during the ABs outbreak and decline,respectively.The active OC contents and proportions in the sediments in the ABs outbreak were significantly lower than those observed in the ABs decline period,demonstrating the significant impacts of the ABs outbreak and decline on the sediment OC and OP in Lake Taihu.Jiehua Wang Xiuling Bai Wenchao Li Pingping Zhang Mengdi Zhang Haoran Wang Yingge Bai 2024Journal of Environmental Sciences2024,,5:0

8Climate Regionalization for Morchella esculenta Cultivation in the Western Sichuan Plateau Based on GIS显示文摘Based on the meteorological data and DEM data in the producing areas of Morchella esculenta in the western Sichuan plateau from 1991 to 2020, the biological characteristics of M. esculenta, as well as the survey of production in the planting area, the correlation between M. esculenta production and the climatic ecological conditions at an altitude of 1 200-3 000 m in the western Sichuan plateau was comprehensively analyzed by using the inverse distance weight method, analytic hierarchy process, climate risk assessment model and geographic information system(GIS), and restrictive or high impact climatic ecological factors were selected as the suitability zoning indicators to carry out the analysis of climatic ecological suitability and planting zoning. The results show that the climatic factors affecting M. esculenta cultivation in the western Sichuan plateau were mainly temperature, temperature difference between day and night, and humidity, and the main meteorological disaster was freezing disaster. Under the influence of vertical changes in temperature, topography and cold damage, the growing areas of M. esculenta in the western Sichuan plateau were mainly distributed in the Minjiang River basin and the river valley along the Dadu River basin at an altitude of 1 200-2 000 m, and were distributed in strips and branches along the rivers. The suitable areas were mainly distributed in Wenchuan, Lixian, Maoxian, Kangding, Jiulong and Luding counties(cities), which were the main producing areas of M. esculenta, but the area was small, accounting for only 3.5% of the study area;the sub-suitable areas were mainly distributed in some towns of Danba, Xiaojin, Wenchuan, Lixian, Maoxian, Heishui and Jiuzhaigou counties, accounting for 36.0% of the total area, and they were the main planting areas of M. esculenta.Qingli WANG Lu HAN Lu LI Mingtian WANG Farong TIAN Peng ZHENG Rui CHEN Yingge GU 2023Meteorological and Environmental Research2023,14,1:0
9Dietary folic acid addition reduces abdominal fat deposition mediated by alterations in gut microbiota and SCFA production in broilers显示文摘Intensive selective breeding for high growth rate and body weight cause excess abdominal fat in broilers.Gut microbiota and folic acid were reported to regulate lipid metabolism.A total of 210 one-day-old broilers were divided into the control(folic acid at 1.3 mg/kg)and folic acid groups(folic acid at 13 mg/kg)to illustrate the effects of folic acid on growth performance,abdominal fat deposition,and gut microbiota,and the experiment lasted 28 d.Results revealed that dietary folic acid addition decreased abdominal fat percentage(P<0.05)and down-regulated genes expression related to cell proliferation and differentiation in abdominal fat including IGF1,EGF,C/EBPα,PPARγ,PLIN1,FABP4 and PCNA(P<0.05).Folic acid addition decreased caecal Firmicutes-to-Bacteroidetes ratio(P<0.01)and increased the proportions of Alistipes,Oscillospira,Ruminococcus,Clostridium,Dehalobacterium and Parabacteroides(P<0.05).Caecal acetic acid,and propionic acid contents were found to be higher under folic acid treatment(P<0.05),which were negatively related to genes expression associated with adipocyte proliferation and differentiation(P<0.05).Ruminococcus was positively correlated with caecal acetic acid content,and the same phenomenon was detected between propionic acid and Oscillospira and Ruminococcus(P<0.05).Acetic acid and Oscillospira were identified to be negatively associated with abdominal fat percentage(P<0.05).In conclusion,our data demonstrated that dietary supplementation of folic acid reduced fat deposition in broilers by inhibiting abdominal adipocyte proliferation and differentiation,which might be mediated by changes in gut microbiota and short chain fatty acid production.Yanli Liu Jiantao Yang Xiaoying Liu Rui Liu Yibin Wang Xinhuo Huang Yingge Li Ruifang Liu Xiaojun Yang 2023Animal Nutrition2023,,1:0
10Tyrosine promotes anthocyanin biosynthesis in pansy(Viola×wittrockiana)by inducing ABA synthesis显示文摘Viola×wittrockiana(pansy)is an important ornamental plant,particularly during winter and spring.In previous studies,we found that the tyrosine decarboxylase gene of pansy(VwTYDC)was expressed differently in blotched and non-blotched areas of pansy petals,suggesting that tyrosine may have a role in anthocyanin biosynthesis.In this study,we found that virus-induced gene silencing of VwTYDC caused an accumulation of pink pigmentation in pansy petals.Likewise,exogenous tyrosine treatment(TYRT)induced the formation of black stripes in nonblotched petal areas.Metabolome analysis indicated that the contents of two anthocyanins,cyanidin-3-O-glucoside and cyanidin-3-O-rutinoside,increased significantly in the TYRT areas.RT-qPCR results revealed that the anthocyanin-related genes VwHCT,VwC3′H,VwCHS,and VwUGT were upregulated in the same areas.Transcriptome analysis revealed that four genes involved in the abscisic acid(ABA)biosynthesis pathway(VwNCED,VwABA2,VwAAO3,and VwCYP707A)were significantly upregulated in the same TYRT areas.ABA content was measured by ESI-HPLCMS/MS,and ABA content was significantly higher in TYRT areas than in control areas.In addition,when exogenous ABA was spread onto nonblotched petal areas,anthocyanin biosynthesis genes were upregulated just as with tyrosine.Thus,transcriptome and metabolite analyses revealed a possible novel regulatory network for anthocyanin biosynthesis in which tyrosine induces ABA synthesis and ABA then promotes anthocyanin biosynthesis in pansy petals.Zheng Cui Jia Gu Jie Li Anjin Zhao Yingge Fu Tongxin Wang Tingge Li Xueqing Li Yuhui Sheng Ying Zhao Xiqiang Song Yang Zhou Ting Peng Jian Wang 2022Tropical Plants2022,1,1:0
11Dietary oregano aqueous extract improves growth performance and intestinal health of broilers through modulating gut microbial compositions显示文摘Background Intestinal health plays a pivotal role in broiler chicken growth.Oregano aqueous extract(OAE)effec-tively exerts anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects.However,the protective effects of OAE on intestinal health in broilers and the underlying mechanism remain unclear.This study aimed to investigate the potential effects of OAE on growth performance,the gut microbiota and intestinal health.A total of 8401-d-old male and female broilers(Arbor Acres)were randomly allocated into 6 groups as follows:basal diet(Con),Con+antibiotics(Anti,colistin sulfate 7 g/kg,roxarsone 35 g/kg),Con+400,500,600 and 700 mg/kg OAE(OAE400,OAE500,OAE600 and OAE700).Subse-quently,fermentation in vitro together with oral administration trials were carried out to further assess the function of OAE on intestinal health of broilers.Results Dietary 700 mg/kg OAE supplementation resulted in an increase(P<0.05)in body weight and a decrease(P<0.05)in feed conversion ratio when compared with the control during d 22 to 42 of the trial.OAE addition resulted in lower(P<0.05)jejunal crypt depth and mRNA expression of IL-4 and IL-10 at d 42.In addition,dietary OAE addition increased the abundance of Firmicutes(P=0.087)and Lactobacillus(P<0.05)in the cecum,and increased(P<0.05)the content of acetic acid and butyric acid.In the in vitro fermentation test,OAE significantly increased(P<0.05)the abundance of Lactobacillus,decreased(P<0.05)the abundance of unspecified_Enterobacteriaceae,and increased the content of acetic acid(P<0.05).In the oral administration trial,higher(P<0.05)IL-4 expression was found in broilers when oral inoculation with oregano fermentation microorganisms at d 42.And SIgA content in the ileum was significantly increased(P=0.073)when giving OAE fermentation supernatant.Conclusions Dietary OAE addition could maintain intestinal health and improve growth performance through enhancing intestinal mucosal immunity and barrier function mediated by gut microbiota changes.Fan Zhang Jiantao Yang Qinyi Zhan Hao Shi Yanhe Li Dinggang Li Yingge Li Xiaojun Yang 2023Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2023,14,5:0
